I joined CFTO in August 2021 at the age of 42, having never attempted CrossFit previously. Really it has been life-changing for me. I did not have any experience with lifting (other than occasional machines at the gym), and other than running, tennis and push-ups, I didn't even work out regularly. The coaches were extremely welcoming and taught me the basics during the on ramp sessions. I started going to classes twice a week at first, and I won't lie...I was so sore for the first month that it often hurt to walk. I stuck with it and upgraded to the monthly membership, and I started seeing results quickly. With the support of a fantastic team of coaches, I have been consistently improving and progressing as a (dare I say) athlete. I've amazed myself so many times lifting or doing movements that I literally thought would never be possible for me. I've lost 25 pounds over the past few years, and am without a doubt in the best shape of my life (at 46!). In addition, the CFTO community is so much fun, and I've made many great friends. I'm so glad I gave it a shot, and so grateful for the coaches and friends that have helped shape a better version of myself!

The coaches at CFTO are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate. The workouts are challenging yet scalable for all fitness levels.

The community at the gym is also amazing - everyone is so supportive and encouraging, which makes the workouts even more enjoyable. I love the variety in the workouts and how they push me to constantly improve and push my limits.

Overall, I would highly recommend CFTO to anyone looking to take their fitness to the next level. It's a great environment with fantastic coaches and a supportive community that will help you reach your goals.

CrossFit Thousand Oaks is a place where I feel legitimate joy. The environment that has been built here is always one of kindness, empathy, and community - and has helped me through some incredibly tough times. Never have I felt discouraged and week-by-week feel incredibly proud of everything I've accomplished at this gym, and can feel all the changes I've wanted to make personally blossom from all the work I've put in. There are so many things I want to say but I’ll try to keep it short. I came to CrossFit TO desperate to make a big change in my life. I was struggling with my physical health, had a couple of injuries, and on top of that I was struggling with my mental health. Due to my injuries I had gained weight, then suffered a bout of depression that really messed with me. I walked into CFTO and talked with Jeremy and he sat and listened to me ramble for a while then he basically just said look give it a shot and see how you feel. No pressure but all of the confidence! I’m so glad I gave it a shot, I’ve never been happier moving my body! I basically had never lifted a weight in my life and now I look forward to lifting all the heavy things. It really is fun and I’m never bored which is a huge plus considering I am super ADHD. All of my clothes are big on me now, I haven’t weighed myself and I don’t care to. I am stronger for being a part of this community that has been built by Jeremy and the amazing coaches here! Shout out to Sharr and Orlando! Thank you for building me up “brick by brick”

I’ve been a member at this gym for a few years and I can’t rave enough about the workouts and the trainers. It’s a great place to come in to learn new workout techniques and it’s not as technician as I imagined. The coaches pay attention to detail and the workouts will leave you feeling great. The workouts constantly change so it makes working out fun again. I always recommend this gym to friends.

In my youth through my 30's, I was all about the gym and getting my fitness in. At 56 yo and after years of letting myself go (and gaining a bunch of weight), I am finally trying to get my fitness journey going again. The problem has been that I have been terrified of starting again and honestly concerned that I would do something wrong and injure myself.

For the last few weeks, I have been working with Jeremy at CFTO to help me re-learn some basics and start on the fitness path again. I can't say enough amazing things about Jeremy and CFTO...he took into consideration my myriad of health issues and really helped me get started. He is patient and knows just how much to push without it being too much. I am not yet ready to start with the CrossFit classes but I will be there soon! THANK YOU JEREMY for helping me start down the path. Much appreciation to your talent and professionalism.

I can't say enough good things about this gym. The coaches are exceptional, the workout programming is great, and the other members are wonderful. When I joined about two years ago I was new to CrossFit and skeptical about it but had gotten bored working out in traditional gyms so I gave it a shot. The coaches were very hands on, correcting my form and providing scalings that allowed me to achieve a great workout without making me so sore I couldn't keep coming in the next day.

Over time I've seen massive improvement in my abilities (though I still have a lot to learn), and have gotten not only stronger but more flexible, have much better cardio, and catch myself sometimes doing CrossFit things in everyday life like use hook grip on my grocery bags.

Some things for me that made CrossFit style workouts a good match were: I enjoyed progressing towards new skills (pull ups, double unders, etc.); I liked the variety of barbell, body weight, and cardio workouts; I didn't have to plan workouts anymore; and I felt motivated to show up or I'd weirdly feel like I was "falling behind".

I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I stepped into this Crossfit gym in May of 2021, but it has been one of the best decisions of my adult life. As a father of two young boys, I was looking for routines that would help me to keep up with them and to maintain an overall healthy physique. One year later and my family and I have decided to relocate out of state to be closer to family. I was sad to say "See you soon" this afternoon, but it is my honor to write this glowing review of a masterclass facility. I truly feel blessed to have been a part of a family who cheered me on and modelled the incredible power of teamwork. The coaching staff in Jeremy, Sharr, Orlando, JP, Jimmy, Ray, and Chase are exceptional athletes and even better trainers. I always felt welcomed to show up, do some hard work, and to learn the movements alongside of my fellow athletes without judgement or fear. There is a special camaraderie here that makes you want to come back again & again even after you feel broken from a hard WOD (workout of the day). It's the people in this great gym. The available personal training sessions, massage therapy, and healthy supplements for sale are great resources, but it's the smiles & results that kept me coming back 4 to 5 times a week. The new Crossfit gym in Mason, OH will be great too, I'm sure, but Crossfit TO is irreplaceable in my mind. Congratulations on helping one more husband/father/friend to seeing the light that we call Crossfit. Thank you!

I had never done CrossFit before starting at CFTO, but thanks to the excellent workouts, detail-oriented coaches, and athlete community, I’m hooked! The coaches prioritize proper form, and know when to push you versus when to drop the weight/reps/etc. to ensure technique isn’t compromised. Each workout of the day is structured so that going several times per week is possible without burning out the same muscle groups or becoming too fatigued. The atmosphere encourages you to give full effort without feeling overly competitive.

With regard to COVID, there are multiple safety measures in place. First, the workouts are capped at 8 people per class and held outside. Temperatures are taken before entering the facility, and equipment is thoroughly sanitized after use. Coaches also wear face shields. I feel much more comfortable here than I did in a traditional gym during the brief period when CA gyms reopened.

I started doing Crossfit after my husband convinced me to go and check out CFTO. I was reluctant thinking I was not going to like it or that I will eventually quit because I will flake out going to the gym. We have already watched Greg Glassman on the 60 minutes talking about this workout phenomena that promises every individual their own gains in physical competence and stamina. So after a month of convincing, I decided to try a class. Sharr introduced me to the techniques and the Crossfit language. I can't lie that I was scared but everytime I started showing up, the community here was so welcoming and friendly. We all cheer for each other and keep each other motivated. It's an amazing feeling to have around. This community has athletes of all levels and backgrounds and no one is treated differently. Every single person I have met at this box has been incredibly friendly and helpful. The coaches are the same way, always welcoming and able to help you in anyway. A year later, I am happy to say that I am proud to be part of this community at CFTO. I feel stronger, more flexible, no longer tired, and happy to show up at every class. The workouts are meant to make you suffer but oh so worth it at the end! Come check out this place, it is a great place to gain strength, feel motivated and make new friends. Coach Jeremy along with all the coaches are the absolute best. Thanks guys!

This is a great community of welcoming people pursuing health and fitness. I was impressed to see people with all levels of fitness working out together and supporting one another so seamlessly and enthusiastically.

The coaches are great providing personalized instruction and help scaling workouts to provide new members with the most effective workout for their ability level.

My own health and fitness has improved dramatically. With minimal running I have secured race PRs from 1 miles to 13.1 miles on multiple occasions.

Most efficient, exhausting workout around. In an hour I get flexibility, cardio, weight work and it's fun. The staff is awesome and they ALWAYS scale the workout to fit your skill level. You get pushed but never outside of your capabilities. It's a very communal and motivating environment. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
