Crown Point Training in Pacific Beach San Diego is a 1,100sf neighborhood fitness and personal training gym space with all the tools you need to be strong, healthy, and fit. During your session, the gym is exclusively reserved for you and your personal trainer, and whoever else you'd like to join.

My wife and I have been clients at Crown Point Training since August 2022, attending consistently at least once a week.
Making our weekly sessions with Jacob has been one of the best quality of life improving decisions we've ever made. We were both already generally fit people, but we made consistent improvement even while going just once a week for an hour-long session. This is because Jacob designs excellent workouts and keeps them moving smoothly and efficiently, maximizing every moment. He watches for proper form, keeps workouts challenging but tolerable, and maintains a positive, energetic mood. We look forward to every session so much that we've now increased to twice weekly.
Our progress has been incremental but steady for both of us. After almost three years, the results are remarkable - we are both stronger and more fit than either of us could have anticipated. I've been able to manage my knee and hip pain, while my wife has seen improvement with her back and shoulder pain. Both of us are now more active in our other activities because of the increased strength and stamina we've gained from training.
This all started because I thought it would be fun to do private lifting sessions with my wife. I never imagined it would be this rewarding and become such an important part of our weekly routine.
Jacob is an excellent trainer, and Crown Point Training provides the perfect environment for our fitness journey. We couldn't recommend them more highly.

Reaching out to Crown Point Training was one of the best decisions I’ve made. I struggle to stay motivated when working out. I usually quit after a couple of sessions. Not this time! Jacob has been a great influence on my personal health journey and helped keep me motivated on working on my personal goals. There’s never any pressure or judgment instead there’s positivity and support. I’ve been training for months and have made significant progress and learned so much! If you’re looking for a place to start or continue your journey this is a good one!

Jacob programs amazing workouts! They are challenging, effective, and include exercises for specific joint health, showing his knowledge and expertise. He has helped me achieve all my goals and made it fun to show up and work hard! I felt safe pushing my limits with Jacob as my trainer and hit tons of PRs in a short amount of time!

Crown Point Training is such an amazing gem in Crown Point - it has everything you want in a personal training gym in a perfect location. I’ve been going to Jacob for over a year and feel so much stronger and more comfortable in the gym. He does a great job of meeting you where you are and pushing you to do better. I’ve done individual sessions and joint sessions with my husband and each is specifically tailored to us. Could not recommend more!

Highly recommend this hidden gem in Crown Point!! I started my strength training journey here and have been working with Jacob, one of the personal trainers, for about 2 years. He is extremely knowledgable and has helped me become more confident in the gym. Our sessions are challenging, planned out for my fitness goals, adaptable (if I have an injury or feel burnt out), and even fun!! I had searched around for some time for a woman trainer and landed on Ashley Hodge. I first admired her own journey in lifting and then her friendliness, training plan options and transparency! I loved that she incorporated nutrition, an app to track progress, and flexibility for the sessions. I’ve been training with her since January. We hit 30 sessions yesterday and I’ve noticed such a crazy change in my body. Feeling so confident with my gains and she’s constantly pushing and challenging me each week.
The small gym she trains out of in Crown Point is also my fave. It’s easy to get to, clean, and private so it never feels crowded with a bunch of people! So thankful we crossed paths and I continue to recommend her, especially to the women I know who have been intimidated to start their weight lifting journey. You can truly tell how passionate she is about helping her clients. When you train with her, you’ll notice the little things, her excitement and how much she listens and cares about your journey! Crown Point training is a truly special gym, my husband and I train here three days a week with Ashley Hodge and couldn’t be happier. It’s clean, the equipment is well maintained, all the trainers that work out of this gym are nice, professional and knowledgeable. The best part of this gym is it’s private. For those of us that don’t enjoy a crowded gym or prefer to work out one on one with a trainer this is your place!

From day one, Jacob’s energy, focus, and support have made me actually want to show up.
He listens, challenges you in the right way, and tracks all your PRs and progress, which keeps things motivating and goal-oriented. His positivity is contagious, and every session feels like a win.
Also—huge shoutout to Melissa, the owner! She is total fitness goals and has created such a welcoming, inspiring space. I feel comfortable, motivated, and genuinely excited to be back in the gym.

Before working with Jacob, I had never stepped foot in a gym. I wanted to gain muscle and build bone density and within 4 months of working with him on lifting, I gained 15 pounds of muscle and felt healthier than ever. Through our time together, I had a few surgeries and he really helped me ease back into the gym each time post recovery.
I cannot recommend Jacob enough, he is patient and kind while also motivating you in a way that you feel comfortable to push yourself, and “work towards failure” as he says! He is very knowledgable about his field and made the gym feel like a fun and safe space for me. Working with Jacob is one of the main things I miss about SD!

Crown Point Training is an awesome facility! Jacob is an awesome trainer who really takes his time to get to know you by listening to your goals, and tailoring your program to what you want and need. The workouts are challenging but always feel achievable, and you will hit some crazy PRs. Melissa has created an incredible gym space for people to feel comfortable in and attain their goals. Best gym ever!! Jacob is such a great trainer and is so knowledgeable about the fitness industry. I’ve always been fit but I never used to lift heavy weights and now I can see how much my body has changed! I feel so strong and know what I’m doing in the gym thanks to Jacob! Crown Point Training is my new favorite gym in San Diego. I was previously going to 24 hour fitness in UTC but since they closed due to COVID I needed to find a new place to workout.
I will continue to go to Crown Point Training even when 24 hour fitness opens again because I love how it is used for private training only and I do not have to workout with a bunch of other random people.
The owners do an amazing job of keeping the gym extremely clean and organized, I never have to worry about using dirty equipment or finding the weights I need when working out.
Don’t hesitate to book a private training, you won’t be disappointed!

This is a private and well maintained facility that has everything you need to get better. All of the necessary equipment to go along with a group of well rounded performance coaches / trainers. I couldn’t recommend this gym highly enough! The trainers use research-based training methods that making working out exciting and effective. This place rocks! it has everything you can possible need in a gym- weights, cardio equipment, agility tools, vertical work and much more, you can find it here. Great location and a perfect warm up jog away for crown point locals. I recommend getting a few buddies and let one of their professional trainers lead you through a workout!!! very clean, organized and feels like your own private gym. great addition to the neighborhood!

A perfect mix of weights and functional fitness space. The gym hours allow me to be flexible with my schedule, and although I don’t live in the Crown Point / PB neighborhood, it’s really easy to get to from the freeway. Highly recommend checking this out.
