Curl review: This location recently became Curl Fitness and opened on 10/11 (ten days after the supposed 10/01 opening date).
- About 65% complete.

- No functioning fountain (yes I'm aware it's a soft grand opening).

Crunch review: I love how they check towels by NOT checking towels. Also it does not seem like they clean the insides of lockers (common at other gyms I've been to). Workers did not periodically check empty wipe stations (you had to verbally let them know)

Use to like this gym but it’s gone downhill over the years. Mold on walls. Leaky ac leaves random puddles thru the gym. Hydro massage area smells dirty. Like homeless been sleeping on it. If you approach management about the issues they get aggressive and threaten you. Water fountain- filter hasn’t been changed in years. If you drink the water you will feel sick later. I tested the water and it tested very dirty. If you tell Johnny he claims the filter can’t be changed but other gyms use the same fountain and are able to change the filter. This particular Crunch is just cheap and doesn’t care about your members. Also safety is an issue. There was a stabbing at the la mirada location. Non member came in and stabbed a member in the showers. And recently there was an assault at this DB location. Parking lot too crowded cause it’s next to Walmart. Yes you can get a decent workout but there are better options available that don’t have these issues.

I’ve been a member here for almost a year and I cannot with good conscience recommend this place to anyone. As a gym, it’s fine, the equipment is a bit dated but you can definitely get a workout in. The trainers are a different story. Every time I am here, they completely disregard the area that you’re in to “train” their client. I had a trainer come about 2 inches next to me while I was doing planks so that they can get a video of their client doing an exercise.. If that wasn’t enough, I walked about 8 feet away to grab a bosu ball and when I turned around, that same trainer was stepping on the mat I was using so that she can get a video. Very disrespectful and disappointing for a fitness “professional”. I’ve never been to a gym where the TRAINERS do not know gym etiquette. The front desk doesn’t greet you or anything which isn’t a big deal but the vibe of this gym is off.

Probably the worst value gym in the Diamond Bar area when Planet Fitness has newer equipment and LA + 24hr are larger and open later and better value

I called and ask if it was possible to change my payment to credit card from bank transfer and the employee on the phone said it was. I add my card at the front desk, all is well until half an hour later David, one of the managers, tells me it’s impossible to charge to credit card and those charges are for charges other than the monthly membership fee and my billing will remain the same. David goes up to me during my workout in a standoffish manner and tells me that I’m not being treated any differently from other people for how I’m charged. Manager starts gaslighting by saying that I must have misunderstood over the phone since it’s impossible to charge to credit card, only via bank transfer.
I mention that I’ve heard from people here that they were able to pay with a credit card. I also explained “I straight up remember an employee telling me over the phone that you can accept credit card,” he takes major offense. He changes the subject to make a point to say how “my use of slang is disrespectful” and starts going on about “how the gym is a zero tolerance zone for disrespect,” then to leave or come update my bank routing details at the front desk. Mind you I was using casual language and it felt like I was expected to speak in corporate prose. I was confused what this dude was even trying to start. Manager since has been passive aggressive since this power trip moment.
To this day I’ve been paid for my membership with a credit card online which David refused and said was impossible to do. It was only possible until I was able to register my crunch account online not thru DB specifically.
They will refrain information when convenient and gaslight you to make a buck. It’s like they don’t want to sacrifice the potential profit from the credit card processing fee overhead.

On the day before the end of my membership David goes up to me Yeah buddy you’re outta here. Your membership actually expires today, even though the agreement says for tomorrow. Not even trying to argue but even to let me have the remaining 20 minutes of my time in the gym on the last day of membership is hella rude.

Sometimes the equipment is broken or a bit older but most are fine. Roaches by the treadmills. The other employees are nice though

I want to start off by saying that I've been to many gyms in the past. My favorite is gold gym. Now, this review is solely based on my personal experiences of this gym. And despite it being a smaller gym compared to most. I absolutely love the peace and quiet that comes of it. I go very early in the morning and there's maybe like 6 people there. I really value my alone time more than anything else. Everyone in there is friendly, everyone gets along, and the staff members are amazing. As far as equipment goes, they have 3 squat racks, 2 of them support power cleans, 2 supported squat racks( Smith machine) in addition to the others, free weights up to I believe 100 or 120 dumbells, variation of cable machines, treadmills, stairmaster( I think like 2 or 3), elliptical, rowing machine, cycling, bench press/incline press stations, a huge studio for group classes, and a few more things. I'm not going to say it's a high-end gym, but i prefer it better than 24 or L.A fitness. I really do love coming here. I'm glad I switched

Honestly, I cannot recommend going to this gym! And I recommend that you also stay far away from here. Firstly, parking here is awful! Walmart is right next door contributing to all the Walmart shoppers to hog up the entire parking lot. Next, the gym might as well be a Walmart! Some of the equipment is broken and has never been fixed throughout the last year I've been coming here. Even utility machines such as the water dispenser are broken and are yet to be fixed! I have had to resort to drinking water out of the bathroom sink. 2/5, budget gym is a budget gym...

This gym is a joke. Mold in the walls, water dripping from the AC unit, workers in the front just standing there near the desk not doing laps and causing DISABLED gym members to re-rack weights just to workout. Furthermore, you have segments of the restroom flooded with water, and the handicap stall does not have a sign that it is in fact a handicap stall, but more or less a stall with a basic men's restroom. This gym charges the members for maintenance and for what? Just to have the janitorial staff to cause the weight floor to be slippery, and the platforms area to be bent, and broken equipments to stay broken, and have the toilet in the handicap stall to be clogged so that actual handicap members not be able to use it, and broken water fountains to be fixed after several months? Honestly, I HIGHLY regret getting a membership here.

I just joined, Ketsy and Johnny were amazing! Plenty of equipment, both machines and free weights. Their dumbbell range is all the way to 100 pounds, which is 25 pounds heavier than planet fitness. I'll begin my 1st day journey tomorrow.

Went in to fix processing errors on my card and they give me "late fees" so I payed it that day. Got a voucher in the mail that waives the balance AFTER I already payed and the manager, Jonathan said he "couldn't do anything about it". I asked for anything like a free class witha personal trainer that this voucher said was complimentary or next months payments but he said he couldn't do ANYTHING. Honestly, if you are a manager how are you so incompetent to do anything. -1 stars if possible thank you Jonathan.

Edit: I have been going there still ever since. Trainers and workers are nice. Just make sure to thoroughly ask to make sure about payments if you change your payment method.

I 10/10 recommend this gym. I go regularly to this gym and there has been no sort of problems. People clean their own machines, bars and equipment. Also if you lose something you can call in and ask them about it. People from the gym never take your stuff and return everything. The community is very friendly and let you work in and are super respect as well as the staff. Another reason I recommend this gym is because it is right next to Walmart, making it super convenient to shop after your workout. I don't see any reason why you shouldn't get a membership here. Also if you run out of your own water, the gym has cold water, which tastes just as good as fridge water. Compared to 24 hours, this gym is really nice because people actually put back their weights in the right place.

Trying to cancel my daughter’s membership because they force her to do it and they told her she can cancel it with in 60days we came in person 3 times to cancel and they always said sorry no manager here. Today 9/23 they charge her bank annual fees $49 and 2 months already she just enrolled in august.
Finally I met a manager asked her to cancel it and return her money since she never comes.
She refused and took everyone and left the front desk with all the computer open on my personal information. And the other computer has another person information.
So If my identity gets stolen, I know now it’s from this branch. Please be careful

I live in a high-risk household and cannot go to the gym and highly doubt I'll be able to return in 3 months. They charged me for several months after not notifying me that they reopened, and I eventually got my membership frozen (though I was told it was canceled.)
Now I'm told that after the max freeze period-- three more months-- I will have to pay monthly until my contract ends or pay half of the rest of my contract and a $50 cancelation fee. I already paid for 4 months i couldn't use at all.
5k LA County residents have died of Covid in the past single month. Five thousand. Why aren't there exceptions being made? Why am I forced to pay for a membership I cannot use during these extremely extenuating circumstances?
The front desk has always been polite and helpful, but unfortunately they can't do anything when the company policy is so horrendous.

As a loyal member I was a bit ruffled when I received three bills from my gym which I assume had been responsibly closed during the pandemic. Nope, Andre, he assured me they had been operating since June. As our ICU's have been maxed out and oxygen rationed good ole Crunch was there.
When you want to cancel they ask you to come in person in the middle of a pandemic rather than over the phone as a normal company would. It is rather unfortunate that an otherwise valuable business would operate in Such a way. I'm cancelling.

I bought a membership for my daughter. She liked it for a time, but when the shutdown happened, she stopped going. Many of the gyms are still closed. She put the membership on hold, but I just got a charge of $36, apparently for an annual membership fee. Why on earth are we being charged for a membership that isn't being used? Stay away from this organization. I've been a member of 24 hour fitness for many years and I've never had these kinds of problems with them.

Crunch has been my favorite gym for a great price. I'm relatively new to this location but thus far it's been a good experience. Staff are friendly and welcoming, always happy to help and it is clear they put in the extra effort to maintain a good community atmosphere. Johnny was great getting us set up! I love the group class variety and their equipment is all new and well maintained. I think there are around 40 Zumba classes a week if that's your jam. They even have tanning and 2 water massage beds - included with peak membership! There is even an app to watch the fitness classes at home included with membership. Full locker rooms/showers with plenty of lockers (bring your own lock). They also seem very involved in community events as well. Trainer Fred is great! You get a free consultation when you first join to help you figure out your fitness goals and make a workout plan. Their price is competitive and they have various memberships with different contract times (annual, monthly). Only complaint is the parking lot, it can get pretty full with other businesses in the area. Overall excellent gym, highly recommended, ask about membership specials!

I was a regular at the gym untill one day one of the trainers named Ben decided to ridicule me in public because this one lady came right as the gym was closing for the day couldn't wait in line to use the machine I was using and went to go complain. I don't really enjoy being pressured by a staff member to get off a machine because they don't understand the context around a conflict and are impatient to resolve a problem regardless of right or wrong and hearing both sides of the story. Honestly I think it's because she was an older lady that was wearing a crunch shirt and is probably paying the premium membership compared to normal me. After my workout I went to the exit and looked at Ben's nametag because at the time I didn't know his name, so that I could avoid him in the future (I'm not good with faces). Ben then decides to call me by my full name (I can't believe he went through the effort of finding out what my name was) as if he is threatening me with my personal information and wants to continue arguing. Having such a rude staff member harms the image of the gym and I hope you guys can reeducate some of your staff about what customer service means. Currently I go to LA fitness and am much happier even though it is more expensive and further away. The only bright side to my time at crunch was talking to Johnny who is a cool guy. Sorry for posting such a long rant but I was very frustrated and disappointed ☹️.

Absolutely the worst place ever. I signed up at my school at Mt. San Antonio college by a girl named “Janae” she totally gave me misguided information. Not only did she give me misguided information she had attitude when I confronted her about this. They also must never look at emails because they never responded to my emails. I liked the gym, equipment is decent for its price and place is clean , the reason i only gave 2 star is customer service. Most of the time it is fine, but one day, i got this older eomen who sneered to another custumer before me. At that moment i knew, this is not gonna go great. Pretty good gym. The people that work there do a good job of answering questions and helping out when necessary. Only reason I dropped a star is because there is only one squat rack.

The staff is always friendly, they speak to me by name (who knows 900 member's names?) My personal trainer listens to my concerns and doesn't let me quit when I think I can't go on. Fig is a great match for me.
The facilities are always clean when I'm there. Julio does a great job. Isaac is always there to help me when I need stuff. Tyler is always there to encourage when I need it. I don't think this place would run as well without Johnny.

As far as amenities and cleanliness goes, this place is awesome. People here seem friendly and there's usually enough room to do everything you want to do without reasonable wait time. Price wise, it's great...when you can join on a promotion. Keep eye out for monthly deals.
