I've been a member of this club for about a year. I'm 69 years old, I've belonged to many clubs in my day. I've even been an assistant manager at one of my clubs. I've never seen a gym in this state of disrepair The machines stay broken for weeks, the bathrooms are disgusting, filthy, dirty, broken down, and the ADA stall has been "out of order" since last May. There are shower stalls that are out of order, the steam room has been down and closed since May also. The area smells like mold and waste, the urinals have 5 gallon buckets 🪣 under them, the flush valves leak, and some of the faucets at the sinks are not working. The ADA and the health department need to be aware of and notified about these conditions. This place is definitely in need of service to be opened to the public.

The trainers here are fantastic and so welcoming. Especially Patricia, who I’ve been training with since earlier this year— she’s a superstar!! With her guidance, I’ve noticed major improvements in my strength, dietary habits and overall lifestyle changes. She makes fitness and the gym things to look forward to and approachable, and way less daunting. Not only is she super knowledgeable about fitness and coaching, but she also makes each session fun with her creativity, her patience, and personable spirit. I highly recommend Patricia to anyone looking to start or improve their fitness journey.

I love the atmosphere of this gym! I was pretty scared to venture out from all the amazing HIIT classes, but I was introduced to an amazing trainer, Sean! He's taught me so much this past month and has given me the confidence to try new things. 10/10 recommend him!! Honestly, the staff has been incredibly helpful and nice, which makes me want to keep coming. Out of all the Crunch locations, this one is definitely my favorite, hands down! Also, Bryan Queens, the fitness manager, has been beyond amazing, helpful, and kind, which I appreciate so much.

Been a member here for 3 years and even though the updates are great, the staff so fall short. The music is TOO LOUD. I have noise-canceling headphones and I can't hear my own music over their speakers. The staff plays the music so they can hear it on front, but the speakers are all in the workout area. To boot, no one is ever at the front desk and they can't even refill the paper towel dispensers. Very basic customer service duties are left undone. They need training and management needs to be either swapped out or trained as well. I get it that it's the most affordable gym in Eastlake, but can you even try to be better?
UPDATE 11/14/25 @ 6:35am:
Still no one at the desk and the music is still loud.

Great gym. Monthly fees are pretty affordable. The equipment looks new and the walls are painted brightly. The place is well lit, unlike the trendy gyms with the red lights. Lots of equipment to choose from, as well.
As far as personal training, it is very expensive. But if money is not an issue for you, they will get you results fast. I am working with my personal trainer, Jesse Goff, and within the first month, I lost a lot of fat and gained 3 pounds of muscle which is above the average. I would definitely recommend this trainer.

As a complete beginner, I was nervous about starting with a personal trainer. Jesse made me feel comfortable and supported from day one. He is incredibly patient and fantastic at explaining the "why" behind every exercise. He celebrated every small victory, which built my confidence immensely. I've not only gotten physically stronger but have also developed a love for fitness I never thought I'd have. Highly recommend for anyone starting their fitness journey!

First off I’m a senior rating Issabela, one of the trainers at Crunch Eastlake, Chula Vista. I’ve been training with her for about 3 months. She is excellent trainer, respectful, knowledgeable and she is mindful of my disability when we are training. I came here to gain strength and muscles and I’m achieving both. I recommend her, as being one of the best trainers.

Great gym! Great people! I love the Instagram page and wish you guys posted more there!
Now for my last star, and I've seen people note it already. The bathroom needs some love. That one urinal has been leaking for months. Cleanliness is hard to maintain specially when people are inconsiderate.
This last comment is more of a suggestion... Can we please change the channel on the one tv that still works? Or just turn it off? FOX now is uninteresting and usually just sad news. Maybe a sports rerun channel or a the fail network or something at least motivating would be much more appreciated. Please please please!
Ok off my soap box. Thank you for reading and I appreciate the employees at crunch for reviewing these comments!

Good gym overall, not too crowded in the mornings and has a decent variety of equipment. Unfortunately, a lot of machines are often broken, and most of the men’s showers have been out of service for a while. Cleaning could definitely be better. With more maintenance and care, it’d be a great gym.

I never signed a gym contract nor authorized any membership fees. Apparently this is standard practice at this gym from other reviews. I had a membership under my wife's. Now these clowns keep trying to charge me. Tried emailing several times and no response. But Alma was quick to send over a cancellation form with an additional charge. Had to block them. Also the gym is relatively dirty compared to other gyms. Go use the urinals in the men's restroom and you'll see exactly what I mean. Mold or some black residue coming out of soap dispensers and the urinals are always have a "slippery" sign under them. I'll post a pic here it I can.

I’m another Bonita transfer.
Bonita closed in May. I was out of the country and I came back in August to find that out. There was no notification, no email, nothing. And they auto transferred their members to Eastlake and automatically raised the membership rate to the Eastlake prices.
When I called today to ask about that, and raised the concern that I hadn’t received any email from the company letting me know this was happening, the first person I spoke to told me that it was my responsibility to keep my information updated, not theirs, and that’s why I didn’t get it.
Meanwhile Crunch is sending me all their other promotional material via email, so no, that’s not the problem, thank you.
I checked the reviews for Eastlake, saw they weren’t very good, and saw someone mention that they were charged to cancel. Decided I didn’t want to stick with Crunch.
Called in again to ask how to do it (Bonita had an in person requirement), and this person on the phone was very kind and helpful, and I really appreciated them.
Had to go through the app to cancel it, and that person from the reviews was right — Crunch now makes you pay for a final month as an exit fee.
Not impressed and I hate how Crunch handled this whole transition.
I’ll find another gym.

I love Crunch and have been to many different locations across the country but this location is the worst. Staff is nice but the gym itself is DIRTY! Iv never actually seen a cleaning person during the day. Iv seen front desk restock paper towels (sometimes) but that’s it. It’s not really the front desk job to clean, the owners need to stop being so cheap so management can hire a cleaning team. My husband avoids the mens bathroom if possible, he said it smells like pee ALL THE TIME.
I saw a sign saying renovations coming soon and that would be awesome. The layout is weird, they have room for so much more equipment, a kids club room or a way better relax and recovery area. Honestly I don’t even know why they have membership options because Iv never seen a group fitness class happening and 1 of the 2 hydro massage chairs is always broken.
Harbour Village location in Jacksonville Florida has the best recovery area! I hope they do something like that one day!

Worst gym membership ever! Double charge my account annual fee! Manager Alma ,not professional at all. She didn't even bother to check account history! I paid annual fee at Bonita branch(which is closed now) and charged me again at Eastlake within months!! Alma (manager) sounds upset on the phone and says have your lawyer call us!!

This place needs serious help from top to bottom whoever is running the show, get it together!
Some of these new 5 star reviews are suspect or people just have extremely low standards and have never been to a well operated gym.
Weight room and attachments for cable/jungle gym/lat pulldown area is a mess. 3/4 of the people that go to this gym don't seem to know how to re rack, wipe down equipment, or hold their weight when they are slamming 35 lbs. Only had seen a few people wiping down equipment and practicing normal gym etiquette.
Mens locker room was extremely filthy/smelly. Water on the floor/common areas and mold everywhere. Seems like no employees do a bathroom checks. Faucets broken/no soap. Horribly humid/hot.
Circuit training machines were also very filthy. Had seen a ton of dust, dirt, grime. Trash bins were overflowing... Gross
Some machines seem to need maintenance even though there was no maintenance sign on them. For example several of the blue/grey circuit cable based machines locking red knobs would disengage when lifting weight. This can be a huge hazard. Very unsafe.
The overall temperature of the entire Gym felt extremely warm and humid. Very uncomfortable. This was litterly everywhere. From the front desk to the restrooms/ group training ect...Could use some proper ventilation by adjusting the AC or have an industrial grade large ceiling fan like other crunch gyms.
Once I was done working out, I heading over to the cooler/vending area. Either product ran out, or nobody is re stocking. Had poor selection of protein shakes/drinks.
Had an ok workout but not the best for the reasons mentioned. A fake hello, welcome, or goodbye goes a long way for a gym that feels like it's gone through a mudslide.

I was transferred to the East Lake Crunch after the one at Plaza closed. I wasn’t really thrilled to be honest. The facility tends to be packed, but I think that’s mainly due to the lack of equipment, and the machines they do have being down for maintenance for extended periods of time. Also the restrooms/lockeds here wasn’t tended to as often as the other crunches I’ve gone to. These factors with the additional travel distance made me want to cancel my membership. When I called last month to do so, I was told I can only do this in person at the gym I’m assigned to. I happened to be in East Lake today, so I stopped in to cancel my membership. I was told by the two gentlemen at the counter that they aren’t allowed to do that and I had to cancel my membership on the app.
I asked to speak to a manager to clear up the discrepancy and was told the manager, Alma isn’t there today, and John, the gentleman helping me at the counter, said he’s the highest ranking staff member there, and I dan come back later to speak to the manager or use the app because he won’t help me
So I did try the app. They want me to pay for next months payment to cancel, even though it’s 3 weeks before that cycle payment is due. SCAM

Don’t listen to the 5 star reviews. They aren’t real. Been going to this gym for a year and by far the worst gym I’ve been apart of. I only stayed due to me having a membership in different location. But now since they shut down the other crunch this one is always packed to the point where I can’t even workout, they keep telling me to come a different time and still so packed all the time, so here we go:
I’m from the Midwest so idk if this is Chula Vista issue but the customer service is dreadful. They truly make me feel like I’m causing the staff a burden to fill up paper towel dispensers. Like that should be most important for cleanliness, right? The employees are too busy chatting it up to care. The bathroom always smell like homeless piss. And are missing basic soap and cleaning of toilets. Like ewww it’s bad. Machines break all the time and stay broken for weeks it seems like. If you want to deadlift, think again because they only have 4 and are always busy.
Whoever manages this place clearly doesn’t care about their facility and staff. I don’t even really leave reviews but some places are so bad they make you.

I worked with Bryan and Patricia as my personal trainers and they were GREAT!!! They seriously know what they are doing and the results from working with them was incredible. Patricia truly helped but with my form and educated me on certain movements to improve other muscles in my body. I have a bad hip alignment and it was flared up badly on the day we had a scheduled session. Patricia literally nursed me back and taught me movements to do at home, what can cause those pains and because of her expertise I am very cautious on my form and how to engage my muscles. Bryan and Patricia made an impact on my journey, I don't think they realize it or maybe I don't show it enough, but they truly deserve more recognition for what they do. Super blessed to have had them be my trainers! :)

I’ve gone to many different gyms over the years and normally I wouldn’t go out of my way to write reviews, but I’ve had multiple negative experiences with this gym and its employees. One night there was a creepy man outside recording people working out, including myself and I felt extremely uncomfortable (not the gyms fault). I let the front desk know, but after that they didn’t really do anything. I no longer felt comfortable going to this gym, so I decided to cancel my membership. I came in on a Thursday to cancel my membership, however the wifi was not working so I wasn’t able to do anything. After communicating with the woman at the front desk, she offered me little help or guidance on what to do and just told me to come in at a different time. My membership billing cycle was to be due three days from this point and I was told that I would need a ten day notice prior to the next billing cycle in order to cancel my membership with no extra dues. So, I came in five days later only to be told that they just changed the cancellation policy to 30 days instead of 10. I expressed my disappointment surrounding this situation, but the employees took no accountability. There are so many loopholes with Crunch’s membership policies, not just with cancellations, and it seems like the only thing they care about is your money. The employees are also all very young with a lack of customer service, attentiveness, and care. However, if you don’t mind these issues or a crowded gym, then this may be the perfect gym for you. Otherwise, I wouldn’t come here if you don’t have to, there are plenty of better options with similar pricing in the area.

I signed up for a membership today and am canceling it the same day due to multiple issues that made for an extremely disappointing experience.
Every single paper towel dispenser on the first floor was either empty or not working. That’s unacceptable and unhygienic. When I informed the front desk that it was my first day and I wasn’t familiar with the facility, I received no tour or guidance whatsoever.
I attempted to use the tanning room but couldn’t get the machine to start, even after spending 20 minutes trying. I was not given any instructions on how to use the tanning equipment or what the process was supposed to be. If staff assistance is required to operate it, that was never explained.
To make matters worse, the front desk employee seemed more interested in her phone than in helping members.
This experience was a complete waste of my time and money. I expect my membership to be canceled immediately.

Went today for the first time. Was not impressed. There are barely any elliptical or treadmill machines, no fans so it gets hot and stinky quick, many cleaning stations are empty or missing disinfectant and the mats and rollers are breaking down and need to be replaced. I'm gonna give it a month and if I still don"t like it i'll go back to Planet Fitness where everything was clean and comfortable.

I’ve had a membership a little under a year and I initially was impressed how clean the facility was. Now, unfortunately, they’ve not kept up the place. The trash is always full, the paper towel dispensers are always empty, and I had to inform the staff to refill the disinfectant sprays multiple times. Management needs to do spot checks and not leave the facility in the hands of the young staff who probably have no interests in the negative reviews. Lastly, some
machines have not been repaired and have been this way for awhile.

This has been my home gym for around 3-4 years now. Through the renovations and staff changes (like the infamous cleaning lady). The club is locked in with all new almost everything. It's huge, it's got a brand new functional training area that is as big as many HOA gyms by itself. It's clean and the equipment is solid. The manager is great and the desk crew is generally very friendly and receptive. Also there is a ton of natural light, which I love!

They also had the nerve to charge me the year fee, even though I kept the membership for one month and the gym was disgustingly dirty. Like seriously the fee for what?? They didn’t even clean the facility. The trash in the females bathroom was like over flowing and napkins all over the place. I ended up cancelling the membership. And they charged me almost $100 for canceling. Just be aware before you get the membership and walk around.

I was excited to try out this location as it is nearby where my daughter does her gymnastics. I did the tour and I signed up. However, I did not tour the bathroom and I’m pretty sure that was purposely avoided on the tour. I did all of the paperwork etc and went back to work out. I went to the bathroom after the workout and had to find 1 stall had a roll of toilet paper not installed. The other stalls didn’t look clean. I passed it off as a fluke and returned the next day. I went to a Zumba class and decided to try out the locker room and showers. The bathroom still had no toilet paper in the stalls. The showers are absolutely disgusting. They have broken shower heads and don’t look like they’ve been cleaned in weeks. This makes me seriously question the cleanliness of the entire gym. I tried to reach out to the front desk but there was only one girl manning it and she was busy with someone else. She asked me to wait and I gladly do did so. However after 10 minutes she asked me to come back later. I also called the gym later to try to discuss the issue. I was told the manager wasn’t in store. So I now have to wait. My concern on waiting is that they aren’t going to allow cancellation without being charged. The front desk workers have always been so friendly and I was excited to try out this gym and try all of the classes offered. However, I just can’t believe the state of cleanliness and that is a hard pass for me. I’ll update my review once I actually get ahold of the manager. Fingers crossed it goes well and the customer service is a thumbs up. I also submitted a review with my complaint to the crunch survey app.

For a man in my 50's I've never used a gym before. My workout and exercise came about by farming and laborious work. I didn't think I would like it knew I wouldn't last long. Well, I gotta tell that's not the case. I hired a trainer, Bryan, and he is amazing. Took the time to tailor a workout routine around my wants and past injuries. I've been going for about a month and am happy with the results I'm getting, and will continue to gain. So a big shout out to Bryan and Crunch fitness at Eastlake. Your the best.

Honestly, this place kind of feels like a group project that everyone was really pouring into at first and then got tired and turned it in last second. This gym is "good". Not great. Not awful.
The upstairs space has probably 12 treadmills and 5 ellipticals but then there's a very large vacant space holding about 5 treadmills and nothing else. Just dirty ground. These 5 are not plugged in and just sit there. I've been going to this gym since the spring and I haven't seen any movement towards them upgrading their spaces.
Again, it's not a horrible gym. I wish they had more leg machines and equipment and their machine section was laid out more cohesive, but this gym works. It's good enough, but I wish they'd do a little bit more.

I'm writing to share my deeply frustrating experience with Crunch Fitness - Eastlake
I originally had a gym membership that included a Kids Club daycare membership. I canceled my gym membership at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, but didn't realize that the Kids Club membership needed to be canceled separately. I assumed that since the Kids Club was no longer offered, I wouldn't be charged for it.
To my surprise, I continued to be charged for the Kids Club membership despite it no longer being available. On August 7, 2024, I spoke with the General Manager, Alma, who confirmed that the Kids Club had not been operational since 2020. She apologized, assured me that she would process a cancellation of future charges, and promised to request a refund for the past charges. Alma also said she would follow up with me by the end of the day, but I never heard back.
I called the next day and was told the refund was still pending, with another promise to update me. Days passed without any communication, so I called again on August 12, 2024. I was informed that Alma was on lunch and that the status of my refund was still pending.
Despite leaving my contact information, I received no return call.
l even visited the gym in person on August 22, 2024, hoping to resolve the issue face-to-face, but Alma was not there. Eventually, I received a partial refund notification from my card company for only three months of charges.
This is unacceptable given that I was billed for a service that was no longer offered.
The lack of resolution and poor customer service has been extremely disappointing. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue and Alma's initial assurances, I'm left with an unresolved problem and a feeling of being ignored. I strongly advise potential members to be cautious and ensure any issues are thoroughly addressed before trusting this gym with your business

Crunch eastlake is midzzy. The hit area is legit. The sauna a plus. But music is way to loud. Even bumping up to full volume on your headphone you still hear it. Clocks batteries need to be changed. I personally set the clock in the hit are back this fall. And the bathrooms/locker room is a hot ghetto mess. Filthy af. No soap, no paper towels, trash can full. Not really into the treadmills, I have my moments but add more with the space not being used. If anything clean and stock the mens restroom please, and turn the volume down with the music. Wait till a member asks you "Yo can you put the volume up?" "This Reggaeton is a banger!"

I do not recommend this gym, I had a 3 day pass trail and the 3 times I’ve been there the gym feels extremely hot like a sauna, no ventilation, no a/c running. Not comfortable at all to be working out like that.. I went to the front desk lady to address the situation and she was literally with a fan on her face, she told me that I was the 3rd person complaining that day. She also said that people complains often for the same reason and the manager don’t do anything or avoid the a/c situation.

I have been a member now for a little bit over 2
years I really enjoyed the atmosphere at the gym Like all the renovations and the staff is really nice attentive and professional,
Just one small thing they need to work on is the cleanliness of the men's restroom and dust off the machines they do look dusty at times and they have a lot of sweat stains Nothing big if they can work on that this the gym will be at 110%

Overall I like this gym. Although I do have some ideas to make this GYM a lot better.
**Pec Deck Flys Machine - There's only one in the whole gym. This is a very popular machine and adding one more would make a world of difference.
**Leg curls/Leg Extension machine- Another popular machine especially for the ladies. 2 of each is not enough and adding one more would also help a lot. These machines are ALWAYS occupied.
** Make a space in the gym dedicated to lower body exercises ( 2nd floor to the right side of the bathrooms have a lot of open space. Add leg extention, leg curls, calf raises, leg abductions machines here.

Some of the staff are off putting. Locker rooms, saunas, showers and especially the male bathroom is very unkept. Patrons are mostly teens that are in groups of 3-5 at one piece of equipment, or young self centered adults that with little care about anyone else. This place will leave a bad taste in your mouth every time you leave.

This gym targets high school kids with “promotions” of $1 membership trial. After hours of up-sell
, they start charging credit cards with non-refundable annual fees, monthly fees and if you are gullible enough to attend the coaching session, they may even charge hundreds of dollars in coaching services.
At the point of signing the contract, we were pushed to sign the $1 promotion for a high level membership and we were told that if the membership was cancelled or downgraded before 2 months, there would no be other charges than the monthly fee. Which made sense. We signed for 2 memberships and 20 days later I was transferred from work so I had to cancel one of them. I requested the cancellation in person at the front desk and then the story changed. At that point they said all the fees, including an annual fee of $60 was not refundable. I downgraded the other membership but they kept charging the higher level fee.
There is no point on getting upset to the low staff at the front desk because the ones that sell and enforce these terrible policies hide behind them not being present at all.
Beware of this unethical businesses that take advantage of teenagers’ impressionable character. Do not support these type of practices.

I signed up when they were doing a promotion where it was a dollar down or free for a month or something of that nature if you applied so I did. I wanted the membership where you can go to any crunch gym but not bring a friend so it’s a bit cheaper. When I signed up, he did not ask me which package I wanted. He just signed me up for the most expensive package. I told him I wanted to be changed to the one below that he told me that he couldn’t change it because it was already in the system. He said it didn’t matter because with the promotion I’m getting the experience of the most expensive gym plan for free, or the dollar down or whatever the promotion was. Next day I went to the crunch fitness in Bonita and asked if they could change my plan. They said they cannot change my plan because it wasn’t my home gym. OK, whatever. I went to the Eastlake location my home gym the following day asked if I could change my plan and he said it would be $10 fee, I told him then just to cancel my membership. I did not like the way I felt that they were trying to pull a fast one on me. The gym itself was a pleasant experience as it was clean. The machines worked. The Eastlake location has a sauna, which I like. Not all crunch locations have saunas. The staff was kind despite those incidents. They offer Zumba classes.

Despite new equipment, always something broken including a toilet that had been clogged for 3 months and filthy toilets while we wait for the "locker rooms" that were advertised last year to get new members. Very disappointing experience. This is also a franchise not a corporate location so that may have something to do with it. And I'm not disgruntled I was kicked out due to a personal beef with 1 Manager who didn't want to do her job and I complained about her too loudly. This is a franchise business run like a profit center. Out of paper towels and toilet paper regularly. Unclean. Unsafe. They would turn off all the lights at 10pm to kick people out because the employees wouldn't get aid for staying past 1015pm. I recommended the permanent clips so the equipment could be used people keep taking the clips for Keychains and was told she wouldn't do that although at Bonita they use zip ties. I carried my own clips so I could work out. Regularly removing clips without an ANSI stamp helping others avoid injury and this is the thanks I get. 😊 REDICULOUS and I've met other poeple outside the gym who independently confirm the manager is a very difficult person to work with or work for.

Amazing gym. Only gripe with this gym is that they play the music very loud so if you're listening to music on headphones without ANC, you're definitely going to hear some overlap. Ez Bars are very off-centered in weight also, so trying to do curls on them is a little hard and makes you focus on keeping them upright rather than focusing on the exercise itself.

Things have really been turning around here. I’ve been a member prior to the renovation and still active today. All the negative reviews are from pre renovation, and I get it, cause it was getting bad.
They’ve put a lot of money into though and now with the renovation this place is legit. Great equipment, solid staff and really a real joy to workout at. Once the locker rooms are done and the HIIT zone it’s gonna be top notch.
Hit it early am for no crowds. If you go afternoon or early evening it’s packed with youth. There’s a lot of schools around so them kids take over that time.

I encountered a highly unsatisfactory interaction with the customer service representative as soon as I walked in. After paying for a day pass ($15) and very vaguely explained the memberships, I was just told locker rooms where upstairs and that was it. They did not offer a tour nor informed me of any other promotions or specials. I had to ask the questions rather them telling me what they offer...
Mind you my friend went in a week before me and received a tour and a FREE DAY PASS.
Women's locker rooms 0 stars (stinks like mold, lockers beat up and the toilet seats had a yellow stained ring around them.)
Hopefully ladies when you walk in you don't get judge as soon as you walk in like I did. Ask for a tour and if you already have a friend signed up to that gym go with them so you can go in free. And not waste $15! (the machines are great that's the only 5 stars)

This was really weird. I came in with a first time free pass to try the gym out. The guys at the front could have cared less that I was there. I've been shopping around and everywhere else they greet you, at least pretend they're excited you are there, registers you, have you sign weavers etc. When you walk in, almost all of the equipment is out in one main area. It's also full of teenagers. I didn't see treadmils though. Then upstairs are the locker rooms. They liked super run down. The wood is all stained. There's marble all over the place like it was put together in the 80s. The lights in half of the locker room didn't work. The lights didn't work in the sauna either. We head back down to continue our tour, again teenagers running up the stairs past us. We finally find the treadmills down a hallway that I almost felt like I shouldn't be going down. They are in a back corner that looked like an oversized closet. No ventilation. Signs for kids club, so I guess the room was repurposed. Crowded and stinky. We turn around, nope, not going in there. There was a restroom looked like it was a children's restroom. Again teenagers run in laughing and playing in the bathroom. We immediately pulled out out phones to find another gym in the area to try out. So if you like hot sweaty treadmill closets, 80s horror movie vibe, locker rooms and unsupervised teenagers running into you, this is the gym for you.

I’ve been going to this place since 2015 when it was World Gym. I really do miss when it was World Gym, even though the place was expensive they really kept the gym sanitized and in a premium status. That’s not the case anymore since Crunch took over and the place in complete disarray. It is such a shame that the gym is in this state of disarray because it shouldn’t be, given the fact that the gym is in a very nice area it should be expected to perform well.
I’ve notice so many of the negative changes happening as the many times I would go. Dirty lockers rooms that smell like urine, steam and sauna room are out of order, lack of toilet paper, some workout machines are out of order, dumbbells are all over the floor and people can accidentally trip on them, etc. I am sure others have more to say about the gyms state.
The positive side to this is that the staff is very friendly and helpful. The place has potential. Beyond that the administration has a lot to fix before these issues continue to pile up, otherwise the gyms potentiality cannot flourish. If I don’t see any positive changes I will make my way to find a better a gym. Maybe Crunch can learn a thing or two from its predecessor World Gym.

I really want to like this gym. Good price, the employees are nice, and most of the regular gym goers have been pretty nice. However, this gym is in disarray. At least half of the gym equipment is out of order and does not seem as though it will be resolved any time soon as many of them have been broken for months.
On their Instagram account, they advertised a "new" cable machine, it was literally called new. However, it has significant wear and tear, where many of the switches are busted.
Although this next critique is more directed towards the quality of the members as opposed to the employees, steps still to be taken in order to resolve this issue. There is a lack of gym etiquette. Weights are not reracked and/or scattered across the gym. Dumbells are left all over the floor, and random equipment left in places where they do not belong. As I stated, this says more about the members than the employees, but as employees, they should take more responsibility for this matter by either asking members to rerack or make it a habit to go around the gym every so often to rerack as needed to keep the gym in order.
The gym is also filthy. Many members do not wipe after using equipment or leave used paper towels at the equipment or dropping it on the floor instead of in the trash. The gym has thick layers of dust in many places, including on equipment. I've also begun bringing my own toilet paper since all too frequently, the women's restroom is out. I'm am not sure about the state of the men's locker room, but my partner did inform me that it reeked of urine today.
As much as I want to like this gym, I am searching elsewhere as none of these issues seem like they will be resolved anytime soon.

I was excited to try the Eastlake Crunch as I am a long time 24hr Fitness member and Crunch is much closer to home, and I was sure it would have newer equipment and it had to be cleaner and better maintained. To be fair, I know Crunch is going for a discount pricing, so I did not expect better or more equipment. When I walked in I saw a well lit room with clean laminate flouring and newer white machines. I was surprised to see a 4 lane lap pool! And they have a couple of "water therapy massage chairs" that are a sweet bonus. I did a trial day guest pass and the representative was great. They do have more than one serious Olympic station/racks for heavy stuff with the color coded rubber weights. Good start!
Here is the bad: The rest of the free weight and plate loaded equipment areas was dimly lit and kind of filthy. The floors were appalling with dust/filth wads and shreds of discarded cleaning towels were in all the low traffic ares such as walls, between equipment supports etc. And the frame rails of the cable racks, presses, benches etc were absolutely black with sweaty debris collection. Dumbbells were not plentiful and were scattered about on the floors. They had at least 4 major pieces of equipment (lat pull down, pull up/dip rig with knee counter weight etc) that had "out of service" placards that were soiled enough to demonstrate the equipment and been down for a while. They also had a surprising amount of very old some times extremely well worn and rusted equipment. Even a few very out dated poor ergonomic pieces I have not seen since YMCA gyms in the 80s.
Lastly, I was there in early afternoon on Wednesday before Thanksgiving; not busy; however, they had so few plates for the free weights that people were having to wander around and ask...."do you needs those 45s? or 25? or 10?. There was not close to enough free weights for the few people on a Wednesday afternoon!
When I was leaving, the same person who initially helped me asked for my feedback and I gave her my positive and negative as above. She acknowledge the mess and said they had just hired a new cleaning person, as the previous person had left 3 weeks ago. Hmmmm... so what I saw looked really bad. It was not 3 weeks accumulation. Do they really rely on a single person to maintain a busy gym. I did not see the restrooms. She also acknowledged the shortage of plates and said it's been a problem since they opened but the powers that be, don't seem inclined to purchase more. Perhaps the new cleaning person will do a better job. What about the management? Do they care?
I have a new found appreciation for 24hr Fitness.

I went to go check it out the other day because I’m looking to switch gyms. I got my day pass online and everything. But it was just depressing. The man at the front did not want to be there in the morning. All of the equipment was wet since they’re outside. The equipment they have inside is all cardio machines as is most of the equipment outside. The machines outside aren’t that bad since there are machines for working out your back, shoulders, chest, etc. however, the lack of free weights is what did it for me the weights are not optimal to grow muscle and the environment overall is just depressing. Would not want to work out here. Crunch fitness right now is a shell of its former self.

The staff there are very friendly and as a regular always greet me with a smile. The machines there are heat and there’s lots of cleaning stations so it’s always clean. The lockers are also great as they include all you need for post workout :)

This Gym is great. I come here with family. It has good sets of weights, and running machines. It also has hydromassage chair. I use the hydro massage chair for after my work out. Do your part too , to keep machines and equipment after using it. It also has a sauna room that works good before or after gym work out. There is a steam room, only for the moment it's not available because of covid. There is also shower's and bathrooms but make sure to keep sanitize & distance. Clean up after yourself. Thank you all staff at this Crunch fitness location. You are all awesome and provide great customer service. Keep up the great work. Thank you all.

I came in to get a free gym pass, but left with a new membership. Ally was extremely helpful and she did a great job at explaining what I was signing up for. The gym looks great and it's gonna get a ton of new equipment very soon, so I'm very excited about that.

I’ve been going to the Eastlake location since they brought back the equipment inside. They have everything spaced out making it feel comfortable to workout. Also they have plenty of sanitary wipes and towels with spray to for all the equipment. Bathrooms are open and are kept clean.

Crunch Eastlake is an incredible Gym with an amazing staff! It’s great to see people that are new to the gym.environment feel so comfortable and encouraged with those of us that have been in the gym for many years. Incredibly clean and management is on top of the equipment repairs. Keep up the awesome work gang!

Not much variety. I get COVID requirements but honestly things are haphazard and disorganized.
