Apparent fraudsters. Do not go here. From my experience, this seems to be a total scam business.
They double-charged my two children across 2 different banking accounts for the last 2 years.
When called on this, they defended it and are refusing a refund for the double-charge!
This is *not* a cancellation that didn't pass all of their ridiculous hoops.
These are active members *being charged twice for the same service*.
I have gotten my bank involved and the relevant authorities.
In the meantime -- no matter how "cheap" it appears, these people appear to be straight-up criminals. Do not do business with them.

Great gym with great employees. I've been going to Granite Bay Crunch gym for 5 years and it has been a great experience. Management is very friendly and attentive with members suggestions and request, and the employees are a direct example of management which have been nothing but professional, friendly and attentive. The gym is always clean and I never have to wait for any machines. I would recommend this gym to anyone that lives in Granite Bay and the surrounding areas.

This company/gym has a horrible cancelation policy. For instance, try to cancel within 30 days of your renewal anniversary and they'll still charge the $59 fee. Additionally they'll charge another full month of membership if cancelled less than 30 days from your regular payment date. On top of all that, the store has billed another $7 charge, and claim they didn't. LET THE BUYER BEWARE!

Have been going for 3 months. Gym is cheap, clean, in a good location, staff are helpful. Variety of cardio equipment, 3 squat/deadlift platforms, 1 hack squat, 1 plate loaded leg press. The only thing I'd like to see is the addition of better equipment. I've seen other crunches with a T-bar row and a machine hip thrust, which are really good to have. Overall for the price, one can't be expecting some elite equipment brands, but seeing the addition of some newer line nautilus equipment and t-bar row would bump this gym up for me. Overall a great option.

When I first came here, I thought to myself , This must be what Planet Fitness is. But even the Planet Fitness in Roseville had a wider selection of weights, Smith machines, hammer strength.

Cons: Entirely way too many machines and Hoist machines. Not enough hammer strength machines, smith machines and leg press machines.

Pro’s: Friendly employees, always clean, good parking, and you can’t beat the price

Overall, just a very average gym, if you’re looking for more weights.

But canceling the membership is a huge time waster. Actually read the terms and conditions since it is a contract. The contract itself is a scanned image and cant even be ctrl+f. You can't cancel online.

I was a loyal member of the Citrus Heights Crunch location for several years, which closed in August 2024. Prior to the closure, I discussed the matter with the staff, who assured me that my membership would automatically end when the gym closed. However, after the closure, my membership was transferred to another location without my consent, and I was charged for four months following the closure.

When I attempted to cancel through Crunch's online system, I faced technical issues, including a broken link to my membership agreement and no receipt of confirmation emails. The staff at the Granite Bay location claimed that my membership agreement included a clause for automatic transfer within a 10-mile radius upon a location's closure. However, I never received a copy of this agreement, and these terms were not disclosed to me during my membership.

Despite multiple emails and attempts to resolve the issue, I was informed that no refund could be issued, even though I had explicitly requested cancellation and never used the new location. The lack of transparency, combined with unclear cancellation policies and unresponsive systems, made the process unnecessarily difficult and stressful.

While the staff I interacted with were polite and understanding, the overall handling of this situation left me feeling misled and frustrated. A refund for the improper charges would have been a reasonable resolution, but Crunch’s unwillingness to address this fairly has left me deeply disappointed with their business practices.

I have been a member at the Granite Bay crunch for almost 8 years now and have had nothing but great experiences! Going to the gym started off as almost a chore for me, having to force myself to go. But all of the employees are so nice, out going and welcoming. It's always clean and a great environment surrounded by great people! I also did personal training with Chris B. And have never felt so confident in the gym! He was so helpful, encouraging and truly motivated me to be the best I can be in the gym! I've been to other gyms and none will ever match Crunch! I needed to cancel for personal reasons (I have kids and I couldn't get to the gym as much as I wanted). I had an absolute terrible experience trying to cancel. No ability to cancel online (via app). I had to go into the gym to cancel, then said I need to pay an annual membership fee on top of that month's gym fee. Why should I pay an annual fee for the upcoming year that I'm not going to use because I'm canceling. The funny thing is that I was planning on signing back up once I had a little more free time, but not anymore.

Mercifully, my Crunch Fitness membership is ending on 11/ 4. This location has the worst Ownership and Management. Very poor at enforcing their own rules. Their sign reads no cellphones, yet two people were chatting away on the treadmill. Also the rap and hip hop music is unbearable, if not wearing headphones. My Crunch gym location closed down in Citrus Heights, and Crunch is making me pay $100 to cancel the membership since I won't drive 30 mins to use another Crunch location. I got a membership at Crunch due to its close location to my home! I usually wouldn't complain and understand paying a cancellation fee- but its pretty ridiculous I have to pay money to cancel when THEY'RE the ones that closed down. This place seems like a scam. I hadn't been to this Gym since 2021.
Starting April 2024, they have been billing me membership fees even though I didn't sign up for a membership. First time here. Im trying to switch from Anytime Fitness to here. Bradley was working at the reception desk and he showed me around the gym. Probably one of the most welcoming and cheery attitudes ive seen from an employee. Very good customer service. The gym itself was big, kept very clean, the machines were nice and well kept, and it had all the equipment i needed (4 olympic racks, hack squat machine, cable fly machines, hamstring machine, deadlift hex bar, etc.). Basic membership was also the most affordable around for the equipment that it provides.

I did a free trial here as well as at most of the other gyms in the area. I absolutely hate the weight machines here (other than the Hoist machines). Without going into too much detail, the non- Hoist machines are cheap, in poor repair, and ergonomically terrible. For a small space, they have a good selection of free weights and benches. There's often a short wait for weight machines, at least in the mornings when I've attended. It's very reasonably priced, which is the biggest upside here.

I worked at crunch previously in so I do know how the cancelation process works. 3 almost 4 years later I start getting contacted by collections saying I owe crunch granite bay. Crunch has not once contacted me since I canceled, no email, no phone call nothing. I even have a membership at crunch in Rocklin where no one has once stopped me. I called granite bay and received no help. Only had the manager Kylie raising her voice at me and talking over me. Even a front desk girl stated that they switched company’s and some “sketchy” things have been happening. I love crunch Rocklin but I am extremely disappointed in how the granite bay location is run.

You get what you pay for. This far in June 2022, staff have not shown up twice to open at 5am. Both times, I finally left at 6am after jogging in the parking lot. There is a clear lack of oversight, which include staff scheduling, exposed electrical wires in the restroom, replacement of cleaning/hand hygiene supplies. As with previous general managers, there is a lack of or delayed response to members's needs and issues, as reported by members and staff.
Regarding staffing, we all understand that there is currently shortage of staff across the nation, however, the role of management is to ensure the business continues to run which may require managers to cover open shifts.

Marie is an amazing Zumba instructor. She is fun, authentic and one of my favorite Zumba instructors ever. I get a great workout and truly enjoy myself in her class. I'm going to start off by mentioning that I come here for only one reason- Zumba. Specifically, a class taught by Trivia. I have never used the equipment, I have never spent any extra time here outside of the Saturday morning class.

That being said, when I come in, I'm always greeted by the front desk. Everyone is very pleasant. From overall prospective, the place looks clean and well equipped. Obviously there must be something great because there are also plenty of people.

I did noticed these machines that look a little different from the rest. I once asked a friend about them, she informed me that these are full body work stations. So in a certain amount of time, you go through each machine and you should get a great workout. I found that to be a delightful idea.

On to my favorite part- Zumba! Trivia is an amazing instructor. The classes are fun, high energy, great music, and obviously I'm not the only one to like them because the class is always full. As Long as Trivia is teaching, I'll be attending.

We fought it explaining to the collections agency how incompetent management is here at Crunch and they immediately rescinded the collection and apologized for the inconvenience. I’m truly disappointed with Crunch Fitness in Granite Bay, frankly I feel like they are completely unprofessional.
I submitted a request to discontinue my membership back in March 2020, yet that request was disregarded. They have continued to bill me until I finally noticed in December 2020. They demanded I pay for the whole year despite the fact that I moved out of state for school in March and never stepped into there facility. I had no choice but to pay and the manager “generously” waived $10 from my total for the final month of December. However, a few weeks later I get a call from their attorney’s office and the collection agency claiming I owe $10. I have contacted Crunch on multiple occasions, they have claimed that the $10 is waived and they will contact the collection agency to let them know. Again, they have even failed to do that. I am getting calls left and right from the agency and their attorney’s office; my phone is blown up during my classes and I truly feel harassed. This whole situation is beyond stressful simply over $10.
I wouldn’t recommend Crunch Fitness to anyone and direct all to find another gym.

New information warrants a revision to my review. Turns out the Sonitrol camera system settings were changed by the Crunch Fitness in Granite Bay, CA where my locker was burglarized by picking the lock. Unfortunately the system in place is non monitored by Sonitrol so they didn't know the hard drive was full nor able to tell who (by sign-in ID) changed the setting. Certain systems are only as good as the facility that uses them.

The manager, Justin, has been professional and polite but unfortunately the settings were changed before he became the manager. I have yet to receive a call from the owner.

There is an acknowledged theft problem but the gym is clean, well maintained, polite members, plenty of parking, etc.

No issues with the gym itself. Everyone seems nice and it’s always clean. Crunch charged my membership dues on 3/13 and then closed due to the pandemic on 3/15. They reopened on 6/15 and immediately charged my account $1. On 6/20 they charged my account monthly dues again without any warning. I contacted them of their error and was told I could only get a credit extended after my membership is up. They had no authorization to take dues that were already paid out of my account again on a random day of their choice. I understand they’re probably hurting from being closed for months but this isn’t how you go about making up for lost money. They certainly don’t have their customers best interest at heart. Their refusal to refund me and lack of call back from management is why I will be cancelling and not recommending this gym. I have never posted a review but when a company screws up and refuses to correct their mistake, they’ve earned this review at a cost of $29.95.

Crunch is a very clean environment that’s affordable. It has every equipment needed to be able to reach your fitness goal and the staff is friendly with an approachable personality. Definitely worth the monthly fee!

Great place! They keep place clean and it doesn’t smell like dirty sweat pants.
Their choice of music can be very annoying so bring your own music. But that’s subjective, but I’m OLD and don’t like new Lilly-pop stuff.

I really like the gym, the staff and the atmosphere at Crunch Granite Bay. My only knock on crunch is the availability of the classes especially the HIT classes. That said, for a gym that only charges $29 per month it's nice to have quality classes that you can attend.

The gym is clean, there is a lot of equipment, and it is kept up. I haven't seen any machine with an out of order tag on it.

If you're looking for a place to actually workout with others who are there for the same reason this is a great choice. If you're looking for a place to show off your new workout gear, grab a sandwich, and lounge by a pool look elsewhere and break out your checkbook.

Great gym at a great price! Has plenty of free weights, machine weights and cardio equipment. Has a group exercise room and cross-fit area as well. Staff are all friendly and the facilities are clean. Very happy with this gym.

This is a great gym for the price. You're not going to get a pool, basketball courts or a sauna but for the price it really does have everything you need to keep in shape. Staff is constantly turning over but they all have a good attitude and seem to enjoy their jobs.

This crunch gym is amazing! It is always clean and the kid area is well maintained. I had an issue on my account (my fault) and they fixed it no problem. The trainers are all really friendly and really do care about their clients. This isn't even the closest crunch to me but it's the only one that I go to because they are just great with their customers.

This location is a lot of fun. They have a great friendly staff who are very helpful. I mainly went for the exercise classes. You had to arrive early for the Saturday am classes due to their very energetic and friendly teachers.

Apparently this location does not believe in responding to potential client inquiries for personal training/fees. In this day and age, social media is used quite often, and for some of us, we don’t want to come in just to get pricing information. I sent a message through Facebook a week ago, and an email was sent this past Monday with a auto response stating they would respond within 48 hours. I have had zero reply to either.

When facilities neglect to respond to a potential client that pretty much says a lot about the facility. Oddly enough, the other places I contacted responded almost immediately. I really wanted to attend this facility due to the very convenient location, but it looks like they don’t have interest in my patronage.

Also note.... I tried to call on Monday prior to sending my email and was placed on hold for over five minutes. Very frustrating.

I came here before I had kids for a while. Now that my twins are 1 we are back. I wasn’t sure how they would do in childcare but the staff have been so wonderful and they work hard to make sure my kiddos have a great time.

Too many bodies and too little equipment during the 5 pm timeframe. I'm trying to work out after leaving the office to avoid gridlock and instead I'm sitting around waiting for equipment to become available.

cancelled my membership with this gym a year ago and they continued charging me and a year later, I have received a bill for 120 dollars for membership that was cancelled last year. Also, they still are telling me that they cannot terminate my membership and they're intending to continue charging me for eternity. I am exploring all the legal avenues to confront them and their rip-off tendencies. STAY AWAY from this place if you value your money and don't want to be subjected to so much hassle and stress because of the fraudulent activities of this place.
