I joined Crunch gym so I could go to the various locations when I'm driving around between jail visits and court appearances, typically early in the morning, like between 5 and 6 am. This la Verne location was good. It's a big box layout in a shopping center. The bathrooms are bigger than others I've seen but there wasn't a sauna like I've seen at other locations. The weight machines just had numbers 1 through 10 instead of the lbs which I'd never seen at the half dozen other locations, they always use the lbs.

I'm NOT an exercise person at all but decided to join for the message table and tanning. Before I knew it I had an appointment with a trainer. His name is Pete. This man is in excellent shape but he never looks down on you or acts better then. He is your biggest cheerleader when you try something new. The staff are all nice friendly and helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed my gym session along with the locals and the great staff. There are plenty of machines available on a Sunday afternoon. One thing came to my attention, and that was the men's shower. The sensation felt like mold from the ceiling, perhaps from the lack of ventilation. The shower area quickly became hot and musty from the spottings above. Everything was golden besides the shower experience and would have earned a 5star other-wise.

The facilities are fairly clean and the atmosphere is friendly. I mostly stuck to cardio equipment because other machines can get crowded on busy days. Overall, I had a good experience at La Verne. I would keep going there if I lived closer still!

Do not go here. Privately owned and not apart of the corporation. I did a month of personal training and then called in to cancel my training for the following month. Told me I needed to come in person so I came in person. Then the manager was not there and I guess he's the only one allowed to cancel training. So I came back in the following week and spoke to the manager. He said because I did not give him a 10 day notice before my billing date there is nothing He can do. I told him my story about being evicted and literally not having a place to live and my account would go negative. Still told me he couldn't do anything. I can't even call corporate to help me. Now they are going to take $200 out of my account for a month of personal training when I can't even go to personal training next month. Manger is extremely un helpful. Update December 2021: Do NOT join this gym. The management is fake, they are nice until you sign up. They will come for your money. They will NOT let you cancel. You are warned.

I used to like this gym. Clean, good selection of equipment. Nice people. However, since the pandemic I tried to put my membership on hold. First, it didnt work, I was still charged and when I found out I was told Crunch cannot refund but can credit me 1 month of membership. Then sometime in the summer of 2020 I tried again to freeze my account and was told my membership will be frozen until January 2021 and I can then decide what to do. I went to the gym in person in December 2020 and I told the manager I want to extend the freeze until at least April. He added the info in the computer and told me all is set, no payment until April. Then I was charged again in January and I 1.) went to the store to complain and 2.) also emailed the manager about this. In the store I was told again that refund is not possible although they admitted that there must have been made an error from their side in December. Again, they credited me 1 month of membership. As for the email to the manager, they usually never reply but this time they actually did. It took them 3 weeks!!! to reply with the words "apology for the late response ... we will look into your membership". The Management of this Crunch is ridiculous, and only about sucking out your money. Who actually is the manager? Seems this is all kept very secret.

Just signed up. I'm in my 40s and a little worried I might be too old. Not the case. Yeah alit of 20 something's, but such an honest , no judgey or uncomfortable feeling . Staff is over the top awesome 😎 Friendly, Professional, and knowledgeable ! 👍. So you don't feel lost working out on your own. They set all members up with the right routine that will help you reach whatever goal your looking to achieve. AND EVERYTHING IS INCLUDED !! .🤗. I used to pay extra for certain classes, extra for framing. They have amazing sign on special all the time. Definitely a place I see myself sticking with. Just signed back up here unfortunately because there's not really any other gyms around. Went back for the first time in early July and not a single person including staff was wearing a mask other than me. Got a ton of weird looks including from staff but ok maybe everyone there is vaccinated(yeah right) so I went about my business. Then LA county says due to the Delta variant everyone needs to mask up again indoors. I went back recently and I counted roughly 48 people there which is a slow day and including me there were four people with masks, only one of the staff was wearing one. It's literally law that you have to wear a mask indoors right now and yet this business seems to not care about their staff or customers.

Also the back extension machine has been out of order since early July and I'm assuming much longer than that. It just has a bunch of yellow tape draped all over it.

You'd figure all that money they made during the pandemic charging people without being open and adding extra fees would pay for a single machine to be fixed or replaced.

We had just purchased 3 annual memberships (2 in March and 1 in May). We complained about an employee trying to intimidate my wife to Alex Sotolongo (self proclaimed owner). He got mad for us complaining and revoked all of our annual memberships. I wrote the corporate office to complain, and he called me on my cell phone to harass me and to tell me that he wasn't about to refund anything. This is place is under new management because we were there for 5 years and we were never treated that way. We will still fight it and it will take time. STAY AWAY!!! They will steal your money.

I have tried multiple times to email and call to see how to cancel my membership. I have received no response even though I’ve emailed multiple times. My membership was transferred over to crunch fitness when my regular gym closed down. I’ve never been to this crunch fitness, and I can’t seem to get a hold of anyone to cancel. Since the pandemic, most of the weightlifting equipment are outside so there less ppl there.

This business is shameful. They purchased memberships from Retro fitness, a gym that closed down nearby literally years ago. Retro closed with no notice to customers and also gave no notice of the sale of accounts and blocked the ability to “cancel” them.

Months later Crunch Fitness is contacting us through collections threats. The manager at the time, after hours of wasted effort told us not to worry about it because they don’t have our social.

Here I am years later getting threats from them that if I don’t pay my account balance they will send me to collections.

Businesses that operate like this shouldn’t exist.

This morning the gym is still not open and it is past 7:40am. This was the last straw for me. After constantly seeing these workers lay in the back of the front desk socializing with each other and members just walk in without checking in. They even gather in groups with no mask no social distancing. When I first started to come to this gym I would say hi and bye with no one even acknowledging what I even said. they are just either talking to each other or glued to their phones. They don’t re rack the weights and when I come in first thing in the morning the wipes are empty and equipment is all over the place. With the exception of maybe too workers they are all terrible. Especially the morning crew. I do hope that management checks the cameras or even comes in randomly to see what their workers are even doing. I can name them but I won’t name them publicly , I’d rather save that for the corporate email I am about to write.

Gym is not organized or something. Really disappointed I wake up early to get a workout because of my busy schedule. Today Thursday June 13, 2019 the gym did not open at 5AM and around 10 people were waiting, yet no one ever showed up to open the doors. After almost an hour 6AM still no one came I guess employee over slept, or schedule changed at last minute. Funny thing even the cleaning person was there on time, but sadly she didn't have a key. So, if you are a busy person and need to workout in the morning don't join this club is a waste of your time. Join a 24hr gym instead as this gym seems to not care, if you read the other reviews it seems like it happens oftenly and management can get it right yet...

A well laid out and equipped gym, good atmosphere. Customers do an excellent job of returning free weights to their proper places and keeping things orderly -- which I find true at other Crunches but NOT at other gyms, especially LA Fitness (horrible). Shelly's Boot Camp classes are killers, in a good way. Jasmine handles the management at the Front Desk in a friendly and professional manner. I've been coming here for the last 3 years as a steady user and find the gym generally very well maintained. Easy in and out location.

So I recently started going to the crunch in La Verne and most the time I walk in and walk out without any of the staff members welcoming me or saying have a good day. But today I walked in and was kindly greeted by a woman name JASMINE who welcomed me in the gym and made small conversation with me. Had a horrible experience. Lost my credit card when I was in Italy. Had an issue and went to resolve it. Three accounts were linked to that card. They only fixed on. This started the onslaught of phone calls. At first I thought it was a mistake. Went in to fix and things spiraled downward exponentially with a greeter named Reader ( notice the rhyme - I know lame) and he yelled at me when I used the f word. Please not it was never directed at him. My wife tried to intervene but it went down hill fast. I ended up terminating our membership which is a shame as I live so close. I guess this is another example of getting what you pay for. I would avoid at all cost.

I have been using your gym for some time now I’m I’m completely satisfied. Your services and staff have been great. My only complaint would be that you need to advocate more to your guest to properly clean themselves and equipment after each use. I went to use a equipment one morning and I found some type of bloody substance on the equipment, your staff was notified and cleaned right away. Thank you for that. Well i do have a few concerns. I feel the mens locker room need some attention. The shower area needs to be cleaned on a regular basis. Cleaning doesn't mean just washing down the shower area down, but must be sanitize daily. This is not being done.

I'm very upset with this place. When I got my membership I was told I would need to cancel my membership before 2 months in order to avoid the yearly $50 fee. So I came in to cancel and was told that I needed to give 10 day notice before cancellation. I wasn't told about the 10 day notice, and I wasn't given the "new membership checklist" that has the 10 day notice information. So I'm now being charged $50 for the yearly fee and $15 for this months fee. I even marked my calendar a few days early so I would have enough time to cancel if I needed to. This gym neglected to provide info that cost me $65. I call that a surprise fee. Don't go here.
