I tried the Fitness for the seven day trial and unfortunately had a really bad experience at the gym the gym itself is ok but the janitor a Spanish man he had a hat was extremely rude he repeatedly kicked me out of the Zumba room in the middle of my workout and also, when we had to use the ladies room, he was cleaning it and instead of giving us a polite warning he kicked us out and denied us Acces

One of the least member friendly Crunch Fitness Gyms I have been to. For the past hour, the women's restroom has been "closed" for cleaning. Anytime the custodian pops his head to pass by he gives dirty looks to women who are waiting to use the restroom at a gym they pay a monthly membership for. Equipment selection and variety is very minimal. Hope you came to do cardio, they got you covered there.

I saw this badass older lady on Instagram working out and noticed she was at Crunch Fitness. So, I looked up the Long Beach, CA location and snagged a guest pass to check it out. 🎟️

When I arrived, I met Kristin — she was awesome! Positive, super cheerful, friendly, and gave me a full tour of the gym. She asked about my goals and if there was any specific equipment I wanted to use. I told her I wanted to use the battle ropes and the equipment that would help with my form. And like a lot of ladies these days (and some guys too) I want to especially focus on my glutes. So… as soon as I spotted the hip thrust machine, I was sold, lol. (Check out the video👇🏽)

I also received a free 30-minute 🕚 training session and was paired with Leah — who was awesome. She asked what areas I wanted to focus on and what intensity level I preferred. I told her I wanted a lower-body workout with some good intensity. She put together a complete routine that fit perfectly into those 30 minutes. Leah is super cheerful, upbeat and positive, and clearly knows her stuff — from exercise science to proper form and movement. She gave me terrific tips throughout the workout. So, I knew I was in great hands. 💪🏼

After that session, I knew I wanted to sign up and train with Leah. Then I met with Trent, the new manager, he was awesome, positive and motivating. He listened to my goals and knew what I needed. He found a personal training time and frequency that fit my budget and schedule. He made sure I was taken care of and pleased with everything. Plus, the promo now is only $1 for the first month — so I had to jump on that! 😊

I also have to say, the gym itself is super clean and well organized. The weights, mats, and equipment were all in their proper places. Every machine I used had already been wiped down, and they provide these easy-to-grab wipes so you can clean your station after use. 🫧

This Crunch Fitness has been so fun and definitely knowledgeable with all their training especially Anthony, my personal trainer. He has gone above and beyond with my training program and checks in on me all the time. Even on our days off he doesn’t mind correcting my form. I have to take Mike the store manager for pairing us and knowing that our personalities would go well together. Both of them are outstanding and easy to talk to about anything. I joined Crunch specifically for the Downtown Long Beach location about a month ago, which was perfect for me because I could walk there in the evenings (I don’t have access to my car at night). Now that location is closing August 31, I’m being forced to join a different gym.

When I tried to cancel, I was told I’d have to pay $90 (annual fee + next month’s dues) even though the closure or cancelation isn’t my choice. It took multiple attempts to speak with a manager, and I was told that since I signed up online, there was nothing they could do. On top of that, there’s no corporate phone or email, everything is handled at the local level, which makes resolving issues frustrating.

So now I’m $90 down for a gym I can’t use, and I’ll have to pay more to join a new one. The gym itself is okay but nothing special. If it’s your only option, it’s usable, but if you have a choice, it’s not worth the price, the cancellation policies, or the customer service headache.

Did not like this location, the upselling when i signed up was frustrating. The employees seemed incredibly condescending. The gym was always packed non stop, had to wait in line for machines. The positives were that it was very clean and the employees and customers did a good job maintaining that.

CONS: were to begin,they only have one rope machine, they only have one punching bag which swings to much do the handle it has and were it's located is very small space which im assuming its the "hit zone", which by the way its to small to do anythingbut pull ups, no space for battle rope or if they have one, the plates and other weights seem to always be all over the place and I have not seen employees telling members to put em back in there proper place, the drinking water is disgusting taste exactly like shower water, the water is not clean enough to be drinking it, environment wise it just a not a place to be excited to workout, much less in hugh intensity or for athletes.

PROS: convenient to go if it's close by, the rope machine works well, good amount of walking machines, and the shower is probably the best thing of the place sense it does have a good shower head.

BEWARE! Horrible PREDATORY practices at this location. Do not sign up for a membership here without warning. I accidentally entered into a membership at this location and when I realized my mistake I followed the explicit instructions in the contract and cancelled the membership within 24 hours. This was more than a year ago and my attempts to call, visit and email to try and stop the charges were IGNORED. I am not the only person with this problem at the Bixby location. There is new management that finally returned my email and cancelled my contract but I still have not received any of my money back. I have spent a RIDICULOUS amount of time trying to right this wrong and at this point I have nothing to lose and will pursue this in small claims court if needed.

This gym and its staff need to be reported! The staff at this location are super unprofessional and poorly trained, as my recent experience at the Bixby Knolls gym clearly showed. We arrived in the late evening with a friend, assuming the gym was open 24 hours as was clearly stated online. While there was apparently a sign with the closing time on the door, it wasn’t easily visible, so we had no idea the gym was closing early. Furthermore the staff member at the front desk weren’t helpful to inform us rather they didn’t even acknowledge us, no greeting or eye contact, just scrolling on her phone. It was clear from the start that customer service wasn’t a priority.

As we were working out, without warning, the music stopped, and the lights started going off. Everyone including many other members present were confused and had to use their phone flashlights to see, which was especially unsafe for those lifting weights or using equipment. There was no announcement or heads-up that the gym was closing—just lights out, mid-workout. When a few members asked the staff what was happening, they were brushed off with a “read the sign” comment. Even if the sign was there, it wasn’t obvious, and shutting off the lights without warning is completely reckless.

This kind of behavior is unacceptable. Crunch Fitness needs to seriously reevaluate their staff training and closing procedures. Turning off the lights without notice is not only unprofessional but also dangerous. Members deserve better than this!

The staff at this Crunch gym are very unprofessional. According to their Google hours, it states they’re open 24 hours M-F and 7-7 Sat-Sun. However my visit on Friday 2/21/2025, showed otherwise. I came with a group of friends to the gym around 9:20pm to which their label door with hours of operation was propped open. When we entered, the female employee clearly ignored us and failed to show a basic understanding of respect and customer service. She never greeted us but was actively trying to ignore our presence by switching her eye contact from the door entrance to her phone. We began our workout alongside other gym goers until 10:00pm when things began to happen. Just before 10:00pm, we noticed that the music had stopped which we thought was random. Around 10:13pm, we noticed that some of the lights in the gym had been turned off even though there were people still working out around various areas. At 10:15pm, all of the lights turned off completely in the entire gym, to which the gym-goers all turned on their flashlights on their phones mid-workout (mind you some people were lifting heavy which is a safety hazard to suddenly have their vision darkened with no warning). We were all stunned and very much confused. We began asking the other gym participants if they knew what was happening. 2 girls went to the front desk to try to find out. They returned to let the rest of us know that the front desk employees stated that the gym was closed, mind you that there was no [courtesy & safety] announcement at all during our time there. The girls had told them that Google showed they were meant to be opened 24 hours for today, to which the staff shrugged and said “No, it’s ‘till 10, read the door”. The rest of the gym-goers packed their belongings and all walked out of the dark gym room very confused. Upon exit, the female employee stayed sitting in the corner of the front desk talking to the make employee while not paying much mind to those exiting. I speak for everyone tonight when I say that WE EXPECT MORE from the Crunch Fitness employees at this Bixby Knolls location.

The Crunch staff did not do their due diligence of upholding safe practices tonight along with basic customer service.

They should have:
•Out of courtesy, since their door with hours of operation was propped open [therefore not properly showing their members “accurate” information], should have told incoming Crunch Fitness Members that they close at 10:00pm and have x number of minutes to enjoy the gym.
•Made an announcement to their members [at least at 10:00pm] that Crunch Fitness was officially closed for the night and to please gather their belongings and exit the gym.
•Made another announcement to their members after 10:00pm that the gym was closed if they noticed that there were still members working out.
•Personally come out to the gym and sweep the people out while expressing that the gym is now closed instead of just turning off the music and shutting off all the lights in the building.

Shutting off the lights in the gym without notice is a COMPLETELY RECKLESS thing to do. You are unaware of what exercises people are doing and with what level of weights. Some of their members could have been injured tonight due to the rash actions of the staff. Management needs to have their staff perform proper closing procedures with basic customer service in mind.

I’d suggest that you or anyone looking for a gym home not to use this location. The management is poor and never in office (in studio) according to the hours they say, you’re taken thru many various obstacles to cancel because “only a manager can cancel memberships” it’s 2024. I’ve emailed, called numerous times at the times they say to call. I’m unable to visit due to my job relocating me. How are we still going on like it’s 1999? I’ve reported this location for poor service and management. Pathetic gym with even worse and devious studio practices.

I use this gym 5 to 7 days a week between 6am and 12pm for at least an hour, and while there I drink ample amounts of water, but virtually every time I'm here, no matter the hour or length of time, the men's restroom is closed for cleaning for at least 45 minutes. I don't mean to complain about cleanliness, but I have never once seen the woman's restroom closed for cleaning, and it's just perplexing how long and how frequently the men's restroom is closed for cleaning. At times I have to end my workout early. I'm typing this from a treadmill in the gym where the men's restroom has been closed for cleaning for over an hour now and there's no custodial staff in sight. This is making is difficult to use this gym and I'm considering canceling my membership if the facilities can't be cleaned properly and timely, whatever the reason is

The equipment is cheap. The ellipticals feel like they’re gonna break when you’re on them. They have limited equipment thats always taken. Be ware if you want to cancel you have to go in to cancel. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I went in with the intention of using a simple 3-day pass, but the girl at the front convinced me to pay $5 for what seemed like a great deal—two months of membership. Sounded great, right?
What she conveniently didn’t mention was the cancellation fee. If you want to cancel, they’ll charge you for two months of membership, totaling $26.99. None of this was disclosed to me when I signed up. I found out the hard way when I tried to cancel because I live across the country and was visiting my sick grandpa.
I feel completely taken advantage of. I gave the gym a phone call to cancel my membership but they tell me to go in the gym. I live across the country so they told me to email. They don't reply to my email and continuously charge my checking. I am about to go through all of the hassle of pausing my checking account, closing it, and then reopening a new checking account just because a sleezy gym wanted 26.99 from me, a student. What a joke.

Nice staff, good upkeep on equipment and a respective crowd of people working out most days.
It’s not crowded, but not empty either, you might have to wait for a machine sometimes but not usually. Lots of squat racks.
Only down side is the music played through the loudspeaker is SUPER LOUD. Can hear it through noise canceling headphones.
It’s slightly more expensive than planet fitness but has way more equipment for free weights.

I've been coming to this gym for a year, i wish I would of started sooner. This is the only gym I've been to that I felt a family vibe, from the general manager to the janitors. Everyone has made me feel at home, specially the managers. They've walk me thru my thoughts and concerns, they've not only been friendly but they've gone the extra mile.
Next time you go in or thinking about going in and starting the gym, make sure you you ask for one of the managers. They'll make you feel welcomed.

Bad customer service. I could not make a payment at one point and consequently could not go in and work out. I believed this to mean that my membership was canceled until I made the payment. Months later, I was prepared to make the payment and renew my membership, just to find that they continued to charge me for MONTHS that I believed to have no membership without me every stepping foot into the establishment (which they can verify). Despite me explaining the situation, they forced me to pay roughly $250 for past months, during which I was not allowed into the establishment.

So if you run into a good-faith issue with these guys, good luck—they will nickel and dime you. They lost my business, and I would have paid far more over the last 1–2 years had they known how to take care of a customer.

I made an appointment with crunch long beach to check price of the membership but they emailed me with wrong address instead of long beach. It was lakewood location. My mom and I drove to Crunch long beach and she drop me off. I came to this location to check it out and compare fees for membership. I meet the mangers and discuss the membership fee. They do not have promo code compared to lakewood location, Guest pass here is supposed to be free like other crunch which are lakewood and west Hollywood. They charge me $4 for guest pass. They ask me if I have an app that I install. I said no. They asked me my card to put. Maybe for payment for the membership fee that I am not going to get. My purpose of going to the gym is to check it out how looks like compare west Hollywood location Thanks to the other google maps to bring up these reviews about this gym. however, I will not get a membership and pay monthly. Just realizing this gym that I went is not for college students like me. They will take advantage you and ask you to pay a guest pass for $7 or $4. Kinda scam. Less weights and machine. Women locker room isn't clean. It is red alert for me and I will not recommend this crunch fitness long beach. My advice is don't fall with the scam. stay away from this gym. I prefer to say that please go to another gym. It will be better.

I like the area because there is trader Joe. but sorry Crunch long beach. It's not for me

Had no bad experiences with this gym until I cancelled my membership. Then it went to hell.

I called requesting that they cancel my membership. The manager asked me to send them an email with the details of this request and I complied. He never responded and a month later they continued to bill me. I had to get the payment reversed by my credit card company. I did not sign a contract and was on a month to month membership. They are simply ignoring my emails and they continue to have their billing department call me.

This is just representative of shady business practices. I’d encourage you to join Gold’s or another gym instead to avoid the headache when you eventually need to cancel

Facility's great, front desk staff is on point. Only issue im having is a personal issue. Theres a particular (short male with glasses) cleaning employee that makes it a point to follow me around including into the restroom on multiple occasions, make it appear as though hes cleaning, all while constantly walking directly in front of me to throw gazes & looks. Makes for a very uncomfortable time.

This pay place is so basic and they scam you using your membership if you cancel over the phone they will not cancel your membership but instead send your future payments to collections without notifying you at all. Yes they make it sound good when you’re trying to get a membership with them but when you’re actually there utilize your membership pass you will notice that the other gyms are way better. No they do not have all of the equipment there I am currently starting a legal case with them for not notifying me that I had a payment due after the fact that I canceled my membership over the phone. I canceled my membership twice in the same month and till today they are charging me for months I did not and should not have a membership. They don’t work with trying to fix most problems until you start a legal case with them therefore I would never send anyone here ever.

This place takes advantage of new college students. They got my son to sign up for a one month free (for a dollar) without thoroughly letting him know what he was getting him into. They charged him a monthly fee of $39 after that and when he called to cancel they said he could not cancel over the phone but had to come in person. So he went in person before the next time they charged him (three days before) and they said he will be charged again. On top of that they say are are also going to charge him again a $50 ANNUAL fee even though he canceled after the promo. So now he's out about $90 and has only gone one time and has had nothing but bad service. As his parents we called to try to work it out but they did nothing for us. They won't even assure us that his membership is canceled or that he won't be charged again. They won't refund anything. Stay away from this business.

I just started coming here. There seems to be a lot of people throughout the day. They don't enforce masks so some people might take take that as a positive and others won't. I work for a company that does COVID testing so, to me, that's a negative. It's in a small shopping center so parking is a little tight. I did my free "kick off" session, and while the trainer seemed like he could possibly be knowledgeable and he seemed like he might care about me safety, I'm not too sure. There was no actual body assessment done, he didn't actually ask me what my fitness goals are. He was listening but also constantly checking his phone so maybe he wasn't. I'll have my first training session tomorrow, so if it's better I'll edit this review. The gym itself has a lot of machines to chose from. It's a bit crammed together and everything seems a bit scattered. If you want to go in and get your workout in, then that's cool, just don't expect some state of the art experience. I'll probably keep coming bc it's closest to home, but I'll probably check out some other locations.

Tried to talk to someone but there was no one at the front desk for one hour !! Also they don’t have all the equipments you need even the basic ones . I went here to try to get a workout in. I was from out of town and wanted to support a local gym. I walked in and had to find the person who ran the place. No one assisted me. The owner wasn’t even there. The members didn’t greet me kindly and when I left, they locked the door behind me as if I was trying to rob the place. I felt very uncomfortable!

I enjoy this place , everyone is respectful as far as wiping down and giving you space. You don't have to have the mask on the whole time you're there. I luv my trainer Serna, I would recommend anyone to come see her if your looking for a tune up!! Haha..I feel great since I started my training sessions with her.

I giving it 4 stars because on my first day back 25% of the treadmills were not working. I had to jump from machine to machine to find one that worked. I know the pandemic hit gyms the hardest, and they only been back up and running for a short time. they might not have the funds to fix them. over all it was a good experience though.

Workers are great, hours are awesome. It’s just missing some key things I was hoping for: sled, turf for sled, hip abductor/adductor, and only has one cable machine. Not enough room for free weights, so people are always hogging up a machine just to use it as a bench seat for their free weight lifting. No one is held accountable for not returning the weights properly - but that’s every crunch I’ve been to.

THEY THOUGHT THEY GOT ME...BUT I KNOW BETTER. I didn't pay attention to what I was signing, ( I knew I would read it from top to bottom when I got home). I trusted that what they were saying was the truth. WRONG! COMPLETELY DISHONEST😡 I was told I was signing up for 1 month with a personal trainer. Once I got home and read the contract, they signed me up for 3 months, automatic renewal and the complimentary work out with PT was now included as one of the 12 sessions. They are disgusting. There was one MAN that shall remain nameless that was honest. He should totally find somewhere else to work. Actually, I just found out he's a friend of my baby brother's. Anyway, once I caught the managers onsite, I was able to get a full refund, BUT you have to be strategic in catching them onsite in order to cancel. They say only a manager can cancel, even though it doesn't state that on the agreement. I also canceled the entire gym membership. Thank God, this happened on the 5th day of my new membership. SO YOU HAVE 5 DAYS TO CATCH A MANAGER ONSITE! Otherwise they win😡

I do not recommend this gym at all. It's a zoo, several machines have been broken for awhile, and there isn't space for the amount of people that come here. I rarely can get on the machines I want to use. The music often is loud and not very good and sometimes can hear it with earbuds on with my music playing. LA fitness is so much better.

I had a month to month membership. They charged me when the city went on COVID-19 lockdown. Then I moved while they were closed and could not communicate in person so I sent an email cancelation of my month to month. I received an email delivery notification so I know the manager got it. Now they have sent a $205 collection against me. I've read the Better Business Bureau and they did similar scam to other members. The manager does not reply until I wrote poor reviews and he said some bull that he couldn't fix what he stole. BEWARE!
