I’m using text to speech currently because this is a lot to type for me and my hands suck. I have been going to this gym for roughly 2 years, originally at the San Juan, Citrus Heights CA location. That location closed down so they upgraded my membership to a peak result at a price of the base which was a steal at the time as I really enjoyed this gym. I ended up consistently going to the Arden mall location that they have and, then it ended up having a lot of issues hygiene wise, as well as quality of life/ and it was really busy. I ended up moving so I canceled my gym membership. Around 20 something days later I ended up figuring out that I should just keep going to this location because of the convenience price wise and it wasn’t too far away from my work so I could fit it in my routine. I signed off on the contract canceling the cancellation and apparently it processed and my account still went in-active…so it didn’t go through even being in official writing… even though two days ago the 28th I was able to enter (apparently the 24th was the cutoff) and now they are trying to make me restart an account at a higher price even though I signed off on a set contract for a different price. Overall the gym is not worth it at least for me as I take my lifting seriously and do not nor should not worry about my contract after or during lifting; as well as for the service provided with decent free weights but super packed and lack of variety, and also service wise mainly their customer service. I’m just going to move on to something different, maybe another commercial gym, but probably a smaller brand/ better one. I’ve heard Planet Fitness is adding free weights 👀 lol.

The gym is great. Peak results membership is where it’s at so you can take advantage of the relaxation room. The only complaint I have is that I’ve gone twice now(in the evening before they close) and they didn’t restock the paper towels to wipe down the machines. Not a huge deal but I have to walk across the whole gym to the only dispenser that had paper towels.

Maintenance at our facility has always been poor, but over the past month it has ceased entirely.

The men’s locker room is disgusting, it’s hard to believe it’s only two years old. The floors are so dirty they are almost black. In the showers the floors are also black with dirt, and the walls covered in mold and mildew. The soap has been empty for over a month.

I’ve mentioned all of this numerous times to the person at the front desk (the only employee in the entire place in the morning). I replied previously to this kind of “how are we doing” inquiry and got a call from someone who sounded shocked and dismayed. But absolutely nothing has changed and in fact is much worse.

The obvious conclusion is Crunch has made a business decision that at this price point it isn’t reasonable to expect a clean facility. The members will just tolerate it and Crunch can eliminate maintenance expenses. I’m sure Crunch will deny up and down that’s the case but it’s actions speak louder than words.

I use to love crunch, it was definitely a safe space for me and a great place to relieve stress. I’ve been coming to crunch since it was on Howe, the new location was amazing the first year but then they started opening later than what they are supposed to more frequently. a couple minutes is understandable , life happens, but sometimes it’s hours. I feel people who go to the gym early in the morning go for a specific reason and follow a schedule. It’s hard to get a good workout in when you start late due to employees not showing up. In the past two weeks they have opened after 5 AM. I would say 12 times within the entire year so far. The machines are always broken . There was also blood on the stall wall for over a month (I took a picture of it so I would know the exact date). Most of the morning crew is amazing don’t get me wrong, but it’s very inconvenient when they are late.

I’m so conflicted in my rating. The facility hour is to open at 5am. 8x I’ve shown up and no one showed up at 5-5:30. The longest I’ve waited was 30 mins. Unsure of when the individual shows up because I always leave before they arrive. Things happen, but 8x times in my 1 year and 9 months of being a member, is not normal or acceptable service towards their customers. I’ve heard on days I haven’t went this has happen so it’s pretty frequently, way too frequently.

Haven’t seen the usual early morning crew but I do miss the energy they set the gym with. They were always friendly and super welcoming. Their missing presence is noticeable because there is no longer any music playing throughout the gym which is a huge bummer. There are no TV’s on as well. Just a low energy. Really missed the tone and energy the past employees set. Cleanliness does get bad. I only ever see the same person cleaning which is always appreciated. It does get irritating when there are no paper towels at any station or tools paper in the woman’s restroom.

Been going to this gym since it has opened and it has just continued to go down hill. More than a few things are broken every other day then takes at least 1 week for it to be fixed. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. It’s almost that you have to be a cute Latina girl or a handsome white or Latino boy for them to acknowledge you, and that’s just a a basic hello or goodbye at bare minimum when coming in or leaving. Theres many workers throughout the day, but instead of ensuring things are being cleaned and restocked, they’re just upfront on their phones making friends. This gym has soooo much potential if it just had a decent staff with standard customs and courtesies.

I went in today and the personal trainer with the curly hair that wears it back was so rude I asked if we could you the scale and the way he responded was so rude I was also in line first for a day pass and he helped the lady that was behind me first . Been going here for awhile. One thing I’ve can say is the men’s showers are disgusting. When I’m trying to get an early morning workout in and ready for work after.. I do not want to step in a shower with mold, NATS, dirt left everywhere. I’m not the type to write anything but I’ve waited to see if anything changed for the last 3 months. The only thang that gets clean is the floor. Everything is filthy in the showers. Hygiene is key inside of A gym. Bacteria buildup is filthy especially in enclose spaces. They should be doing a way better job. It’s the fact that people pay sometimes premium memberships as I do and still have to walk into place and see that they don’t do certain things to change it, especially dealing with the bathrooms. I don’t know what the company offers but if you have somebody cleaning up every single day, the biggest thing should be a place where you’re changing as well l. that Is very discomforting to have to feel like you can’t take a shower when you’re already in a rush or you have to sit in the shower and And see Nats fly around you continuously for months with mold on the wall and nothing being done. It’s very disappointing.

BEWARE!!!
Unfortunately my locker got broken into and all my belongings were stolen. I frequent the gym often and havent had issues but I do notice that regardless of a gated entry, i was told people can bypass the gates with fraudulant passes. Most of the time, it seems like the staff dont take much consideration whos at the entry points. Now one of my pet peeves is people hauling their bags all over the gym and hogging up the equipment with it, so i use the lockers. Never again. Having my locker broken into and all my valuables stolen is a pain and costly having to replace. Who knows what these theives have in mind when they have your ID, credit cards (they immediately tried to make a large purchase luckily I was able to freeze my cards ahead of time), house keys, car keys, etc. I obviously did file a police report and with the staff but as you see when entering a sign that reads “not responsible for lost or stolen items”.

This gym is clean and has a lot of equipment to choose from. I have the highest level membership and my only complaint is I never got my shirt! I ask one a month since becoming a member and they never ever have shirts. That’s one of the perks of joining at the highest membership level is the shirt and I’m disappointed I never received mine. Other than that great gym, good hours despite not being 24/7. I enjoy it and recommend trying it especially if you live nearby. Perfect location!

Huge Facility with a lots of great equipment…when you can use it.

I used to go when they were still on Howe Ave as well and its a completely different vibe now. It used to be a good place to go in and get a quick workout in before starting your day, now its a social club.

On average you’ll see about 4-5 people with tripods making content at any given time. Groups of people in jeans and Birkenstocks crowding the machine you need to finishing your workout for the day just talking. It made going to this location unbearable.

The location itself is also not great. Getting in and out of the arden fair mall is always a nightmare. Combination of those factors made me decide to cancel my membership which was also a pain.

In general, if you’re looking for an easy place to get a quick work out in, keep looking. It seems theyre catering more to the Gymbro fitness influencer crowd nowadays.

Needs some serious upgrades. The two “saunas” have been in & out of order consistently & now the red light therapy just hasn’t worked since. The tanning seems to not work , not sure if it’s cheap or outdated but it’s not as good as the hybrid planet offers. Not to mention the amenities are so dirty , it doesn’t seem like they clean them. If they do then it’s not weekly. Contemplating on canceling. Currently wouldn’t recommend.

First off, the gym itself is REALLY nice. It's spacious and has high ceilings. There's boxing bags, squat racks, free weights, machines, battle ropes, TRX bands, pull-up bars, an area to do sled pulls, and a room for classes or stretching. They provide hip/neck pads. Nothing looks worn down. The music is loud, but the music is good if you forget your headphones. The bathrooms are clean. There's lockers. Unfortunately, there's no showers. You can check in either at the front desk, with your phone, or scan your hand. There's plenty of parking, but I would not recommend parking the furthest from everyone else because I've seen some cars broken into.

Second off, this review reflects mostly on this: the contract. If you decide to cancel, you have to give a 30-day notice. I canceled the day after my payment was due, and they still charged me for an extra month. Plus, they'll charge you an annual maintenance fee, even if you cancel within days of signing up.

If you don't have an issue with any of that, then this gym is perfect for you.

Transitioning from a gym that had dirty equipped machines and stanky air. To attending crunch. It is way cleaner and worth your money. I Just wish the the stair masters where placed elsewhere to enjoy the work out better. I can’t wear my glasses too the gym so the area is way to bright, but I make it work. This place is dirty!!! There has been blood on the wall in the tanning room for 3 weeks now! I've asked the staff 5 times if they would please clean up the blood off the wall, and it's still there. If I could give zero stars, I'd give zero . I started Crunch in Texas last September. The Texas facility is so much better, clean, friendly, and the staff there is always cleaning around the clock.

Inexpensive? Sure. Worth it? Probably not.

Before I get into it, be aware that this gym will charge you TWO "annual fees" within your first year. Here's how it works:
* You'll be charged one "annual fee" 60-90 days after signing up (Crunch's own documentation contradicts itself on the exact timing).
* Then, just 9 months later, you'll be charged another "annual fee."
* From that second charge onward, the fee recurs annually on that date.

This might seem minor, but it feels deceptive. If Crunch wanted to be transparent, they would charge the annual fee 60 days after signup, then once a year from that date. Instead, they've structured it to sneak in an extra charge, essentially scamming members out of an extra $16. For what?

To add to this confusion, Crunch's own website's answer in their FAQs is my perspective mentioned above:

"Crunch’s annual fee varies from year to year and club to club! You see this fee occur three months after you first join and every year, once a year, on that date."

To make matters worse, Crunch’s customer service has been equally disappointing. I’ve reached out multiple times to both the "manager" and "info" email addresses listed on Crunch’s website under the Contact Us section, yet I have received no response.

Additionally, when I visited Crunch Market Square’s website for management contact information, I found three names listed—Davis Jenkins, Kashalia Block, and Fatima Rodriguez—all identified as General Managers. However, after emailing the addresses provided on the website for each individual, my messages bounced back, indicating that these are not actually functioning email addresses. This lack of responsiveness and outdated contact information only adds to the frustration of an already disappointing experience. If Crunch provides contact details for management, they should be accurate and functional. Like truly, at this point, what are you paying them for?

Beyond the shady billing practices and terrible customer service, this gym is overcrowded. Period. If you enjoy waiting in line for machines or benches, this is the place for you. I've walked in twice and turned right back around because of the chaos. I get that Sacramento has limited options for quality gyms, but I'd honestly rather be out of shape than wait in a line of 5-7 high schoolers just to use the bench press at 9:00 PM on a Thursday.

The sauna? Nice in theory, but there are only two, each fitting 2-3 people max. So at best, six people can use them at a time--not exactly great.

Bottom line: If you're looking for a gym where you can actually work out without frustration, this probably isn't it. Between the misleading fees, overcrowding, and nonexistent customer service, I can’t recommend this gym. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.

My experience with the front desk employee at 5:00 AM has been disappointing. He is often rude and seems inexperienced. When I entered the Relaxation Room to see if I liked it before upgrading my membership, he immediately asked me to leave, which was an unpleasant experience. Additionally, I signed up my two sisters for memberships a month ago, but they were mistakenly enrolled at the Folsom location instead of Market Square. Because of this error, we face issues every day at check-in, wasting our time. I hope management can address these concerns to improve customer service and ensure a better experience for members.

While seemingly in an odd location in the mall, it works out rather great! There is a separate entrance and ease of access to food court. The facilities are kept clean and the layout is overall intuitive. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that there isn't a wow factor for this gym. Clean stations should be better laid out and annotated so that people can clean their own equipment after use. Some machines (in the cardio area) seem tightly packed and not certain if much can be done about it but about 6 more inches of room between each machine would make it more spacious

Gets worse everyday , way to over crowded all the time . Employees don’t do much either just talk to each other all day. Try the new chuze fitness cost less and not crowded thank me later. The only friendly staff member is the weekday opener guy.

Signed a year contract with Crunch in which the yearly membership fee was waived. When I called to make sure the contract would actually end at the end of the year term they asked me to come in to sign a document.

It turns out they switched my monthly rate to 6$ more and asked me to pay a membership fee for 2025. So I ended up leaving after paying them 77$ extra on a year contract which they extended without my consent and raised my rate. Paid a membership fee for a year I will not be using their services and had to pay for an extra month that I did not sign a contract for.

Very shady. I will not be going back to Crunch. They’ve lost my business.

Even though I live 30 minutes away from the Crunch in Market Square, it is very much worth the drive. It’s very spacious and clean. The employees, especially Miranda and Jackie, are always so welcoming. Even with it being christmas eve, they were very energetic and super friendly! 10/10 would recommend this location.

I absolutely love Crunch Fitness at Market Square! The staff is incredible—friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. The gym is exceptionally clean, which I really appreciate.

There’s an amazing variety of classes, tons of machines, and so many workout options that it’s easy to find something that works for me. The TVs are everywhere—probably more than 10 huge screens on the walls—which makes it easy to stay entertained while working out.

My favorite feature is the infrared sauna—it’s the perfect way to relax after a workout. With so many great amenities and such a wonderful team, Crunch Market Square truly stands out. Highly recommend!

This gym is amazing and has everything you need for a gym. I have the highest one and I love it. The only issue is the busy times during 5pm. But you just have to work around those hours and you’ll be fine. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who needs a gym and on a budget

Whatcha out!!!! They don't offer good services, just want to grab money even after cancelation of membership.
Iafter more than one year of membership, I talked to front desk and wanted to cancel since I was going out of area. Front desk said you can do it anytime even last day before trip.
So I waited till last day they then said there is one month notice necessary.
So front desk misled me. Yet because of a couple of days they wanted to charge me almost for 2 months
They keep sending me emails every day. With intimidation and harassment.
Worst gym in area.

Worst managed Gym in Sacramento hands down. The day I ended my membership I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulders , no pun intended.
Even after ending my membership they still charged my membership fee to my bank account forcing me to get my Bank involved. Avoid this gym at all costs.

Love coming here and it is helping me build a stronger self in multiple ways. Really appreciate the recovery room and the yoga teacher here is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Her name is Ekaterina and she is incredible and makes my membership worth it alone, I honestly don't know if she left I would probably not renew my membership she is that good, it is like my gym membership for $40 a month is paying for a yoga class membership which is more like $140 a month. And there is a recovery room. Thank you Crunch Fitness for hiring Ekaterina and making my recovery and wellness available and affordable.

Gym is clean. There is toilet paper & Seat covers. Plenty of equipment for any kind of workout! Showers are better than Planet Fitness. Adequate amount of lockers to compensate for the size of the gym. Love the musica! Haven't tried the other amentities as of yet! So TBC... :)
