This gym has a lot of variety. Everyone there is pretty chill. The staff is pretty nice, especially the night crew. I do notice though some employees going the extra mile more than others. Like Steven and Trevor come off as managers and put back weights more than other employees. My vote for employee of the year goes to Steven. But all in all, good gym for the price.

I don't know what phone number they used for it, and I left the card at home.
Sooo chose to sign up for the free trial as myself, not business.

I’ve been a member at Crunch Fitness Northridge since 2020 and have had nothing but great experiences. The staff is welcoming and the atmosphere is fantastic.

What really impressed me was how they stayed open safely during the pandemic when so many other places closed. Being able to maintain my fitness routine here took my workouts to the next level during those challenging times.

This place truly feels like a home away from home. Thanks to the entire team for creating such a positive environment and being there when I needed it most!

Worst Crunch in the San Fernando Valley. This place is consistently filthy, with dust bunnies and trash , and equipment that's clearly never been wiped down. Half the machines are broken at any given time or someone hogging it up while on their phone, and you're lucky if the one you want to use is actually functional.
The most frustrating part, however, is the women's locker room. The women's sauna never works, which is a major letdown. On top of that, a male staff member cleans the women's bathroom for an entire hour every day, leaving the women with no restroom access at all. This is a massive inconvenience and completely unacceptable. I'm taking my membership elsewhere at this point.

I’ve been a loyal member at Crunch since 2017, but after how they handled a serious harassment issue, I can no longer trust this gym. The first time I encountered this man, he told me I should kill myself and that I was a waste of life, just for being in the same room. Later, he followed me upstairs and threw weights near me to instigate a fight. I reported everything in detail, both in person and through email. But when I finally spoke to a manager, I found out the staff never even mentioned the part about him trying to provoke a fight, and no one had read the email I sent. What’s worse? He’s still a member. Others have had similar issues with him, but they’re too afraid to say anything.

Crunch did nothing. No follow-up, no accountability, no concern for member safety. After nearly a decade of loyalty, I walked away feeling invisible, unsafe, and completely let down. I hope they change, but I won’t be there to wait for it.

There was a lunatic woman yelling at the janitor like she owned the place. Management did nothing and that lunatic got away. I say take her membership. No one deserves that abuse. This janitor is the only lady here that maintains a clean bathroom. Better than most gyms. I talk to the lady Alba and she is very nice and respectful. This gym would look and smell disgusting without her. Crunch often changes management so it’s hard to keep track of who the heck to complain to but you guys need to get it together! I mostly go to the signature location in Burbank, but sometimes I go to this one depending on my work schedule. This location seems to always be much busier in the early morning, full of young bros crowding around the bench area with their huge gym bags taking up space, and like 3 pairs of dumbbells around them. I usually end up having to take a chest press bench even though I'm not doing chest that day which doesn't make it any better. In comparison to the Burbank location, this one is not as well maintained, and you have to trade something at the front desk to get some of the cable attachments. I assume that there was a problem with people stealing them? Most of the time I'm not able to do my workout in the order I'm used to unless I want to stand around and wait for a bench or machine. Yes, it's cheaper to just join a regular location vs. signature, but you really do get what you pay for. I will say though that Kelly is awesome. Always welcoming and great attitude. I might give this place 4 stars if Burbank didn't spoil me so much!

Today was my last workout at Crunch in Northridge . It has become super crowded and a majority of the people that go there have no business being in a gym . I am tired of my workout being robbed from me by people sitting on equipment glued to their phones , sitting there talking to their friends or just sitting there literally doing nothing . However , if you want a good laugh while people watching this is a good place for that . I've put up with it for long enough and will find a gym where it is used for it's intended purpose by people who are serious about it .

Planet fitness is better than this specific crunch and ngl Crunch has the worst showers as a brand. Disappointing Experience
I’m anemic, fainting is not rare. While working out here, I felt one coming on, I stepped into one of the Zumba classes just in case I needed to be on the ground. The instructor, Kia, was incredibly rude. While sitting on the ground, trying to catch my breath with my head down, and instead of checking if I was okay, she tapped me and asked if I was in the class. Then she told me to leave and rest outside! Unbelievable. Is it too much to ask for a little compassion or concern when someone might need help? I expected better from a place that’s supposed to care about health and well being.

I have been trying to cancel my membership with Crunch for months. They first told me that I didn’t provide enough notice and that I had to pay the past due charges before I could cancel. I did and today I noticed that I was charged last month and another attempt was made this month. This is very frustrating.

The staff was very rude when I reached out to cancel. They wrote some very unprofessional txt messages and it looks like they just ignored my request to cancel. This is fraud they had no right to debit my account after I informed them that I wanted to cancel and paid the past due fees.

I just wanted to write a good review and experience that I had at Crunch Gym because of KELLY. She was so attentive -- constantly putting weights away, cleaning, answering clients' questions, and maintaining a clean (and safe) workout space. I felt so welcomed here when I came the other day. She follows gym protocols strictly and is no-nonsense, which I really appreciated it. Someone spilled water on the ground and didn't clean it up, and she promptly went to attend to it and clean it up. She is amazing and I hope her boss sees this. She is truly a quality employee -- funny, hardworking, and attentive. I hope she gets a promotion or pay raise.

Signed up for a free week trial online only to be turned away by the guy at desk, which seemed like the manager- short with tattoos. I was completely taken aback by the way he approached the situation and eventually denied my free trial and proposed to charge me $15 for the day because he assumed I wasn’t living in town. Didn’t ask questions at all and said that “we can’t do it otherwise we’d be like every other gym.” Clearly doesn’t understand the importance of treating/servicing new potential members or finding another way to make it work. Very conceited and not the way to treat other people- be there for your customers.

Was part of crunch years ago and also had issues with billing being charged wrong and charging me after cancellations and feeezes, not sure how much of an issue this still is. However recently I needed a gym for once in a while off hours of training for my sport so was looking into purchasing the $15.99 membership. I set up an appointment in the evening with a manager and he did not attend. With training etc time is very valuable to me so this was already a red flag. I continued getting texts and emails so responded to look into it in person again and set up a time to meet with a woman whom I forgot her name. When I arrived she had an annoyed face while texting stating “what’s up.” Once I informed her who I was her demeanor changed. I’m good on joining, took my business elsewhere.

So I have been coming to crunch for a while.  The reason for my review is because of new staff / new policy( may be it's not new policy, they just made it up)

At crunch, to get gym equipment like handles, resistant bands, etc, you have to give something to them to hold. Previously, I used to give them airpords, ID card, my gym equipment, etc. Which I believe it was fair. In case someone forgot to return back

But now they are asking for a phone or car key according to "new policy," which I believe is not justified.

For $15 to $30 , the gym equipment crunch wants us to leave $1000 phone or  car key. That's not right.

Although they assure me that it would be safe and they have cameras. But what if they gave my phone or car key to someone else. Or someone stole it, Would cruch be responsible for that?

Till crunch or police get back my phone or car. Would CRUNCH provide me with a temporary phone or temporary car, but still I get my car or phone back? If yes, I would be happy to leave it without any worries.

Just other day, I saw someone offering a box full of key. People can take any key( hopefully they take their keys). Someone was about to take my key accidentally, but I intervened. Also, sometimes no one is attending the counter.

I think anything worth the value of $30 or ID card shall be good enough for trade.

Literally don’t waste u your time. The gym might be ok but I never made it past the gross locker room. Took me 5 mins to find a locker that wasn’t obviously broken and it turned out to be secretly broken. Toilet seat covered in god knows what. Checked the showers because other reviews and they are ICE cold literally unusable. I always plan my workouts so I can shower and head to work after. Luckily I knew this place would be trash because, well, it’s crunch and I haven’t been to one yet that isn’t. So I allowed myself enough time to go to my other gym which I won’t mention here.
Even $10 a month isn’t working I’m canceling my membership ASAP I only keep it for when I work off hours and wanna hit the gym before. Every time I go to a crunch something messes it up. Last time someone broke into my locker at the van nuys location. Like literally bolt cluttered my lock.

Canceling a month-to-month paid membership was extremely frustrating.

After making a verbal request to cancel on July 30, 2024, I was asked to leave my name and phone number with an employee, as a manager was not on-site to cancel the membership. They did not attempt to reach me through the phone.

It was not until I hand-delivered a notice to cancel three weeks later that I was able to finally cancel.

Please be prepared for an unpleasant cancellation experience (you cannot cancel online) should you start a membership here.

I come here regularly before work. I arrive around 5 AM-ish. And the men’s locker room and restrooms are generally incomplete shambles. Towels and toilet paper everywhere. Apparently no cleaning staff works overnight. So none of the cleaning staff come in till six or 7 AM. That is my biggest complaint with his gym. The floor staff have always been great and I’ve never had an issue with them at all. Hope management can take the time to address this housecleaning issue. One suggestion I might pose is putting a trashcan in the handicap, stall to the fact that people often leave toilet paper on the floor. This would probably help rectify that situation.
I will gladly edit my review if and when management rectifies the housecleaning situation

The only good thing about this gym is that it’s open 24 hours. I tried to cancel my membership one week before my due date, but I was told to email the manager. Of course, I did not hear back until I was charged. The manager finally reached confirming the cancellation but not mentioning anything about a refund. Overall its a good gym. The weights are scattered about and not put back where they are supposed to go but thats on the members being lazy and not caring more than the staff. The only real issue i have is that for weeks now theres has not been any hot water in the mens room to be able to shower. Dont know if the hot water heater is broken or if its just very undersized for what they are doing there, either way its not a great experience having to shower franticly in cold water.

3.6/5 stars seems too high for this establihment. The classes are not organized at all. You end up working out after the music stops or have to make pauses because the instructors need to see their notes to remember what movement is next.

The equipment is a little outdated and the staff is only nice to new members. Once you sign up, yo will notice a difference. Speaking of staff, do not sign up with Josh as he does not disclose important information. Stay away from this place and that agent.

Talk straight to your bank once you have cancelled and let them know you do not consent to any new payments charged by the merchant and your problems will be solved immediately. Cares about commissions, the gym is alright but how they constantly call you at first to consider there gym and then lie about a free work out only for them to trick me into a membership which is painfully hard to cancel I would honestly recommend any other gym even if the location is further its better than this sketchy place be aware of the management too because the staff is is highly aggressive and rude when it comes to commissions and cancellations and it makes me feel uncomfortable and they removed the ability to cancel membership online as well so they wait so they can make you look horrible in public using peer pressure

Josh, the general manager, did an AMAZING job showing us around and really helped us understand the gym structure. He does a great job keeping the machines up to date and working, as well as maintaining the general cleanliness of the place (he was picking up little pieces of trash on the ground and this is the CLEANEST and non-smelly gym that I've ever been to.) We decided to buy a membership and the prices were very competitive and came with lots of cool perks such as a tanning bed and massage chair, as well as a sauna and some classes (if you choose a certain membership). The whole time he was welcoming and non-pushy about buying a membership, and you can tell that he really cared about his customers and wasn't just trying to make easy money from selling memberships.

Would highly recommend this gym and Crunch in general since I've had an amazing experience so far. We plan to stay loyal customers for a long time.

The best fitness gym. I love this gym! But it needs a deep cleaning. Too much dust build up on the machines. Please turn off the heater in the gym. It's way too hot to workout in.

Weights are scattered. Hard to find paired weights as they are 24/7 they don't have a reset period. Pretty cramped together but has a variety of equipment.

Floors are a bit uneven so weights may roll away.

Sauna is huge though at least for men's locker room. One might say too big as it doesn't get as hot as other smaller sized saunas unless you stay close to the stones.

Showers are strong, but gotta be precise on angle to get warm water. Shoots like a geyser tho.

I did a 30 day trial visit at Crunch Fitness in Northridge and so far so good. I like the fitness classes they offer and all the instructors that I have worked with are great. I like that I can visit other Crunch facilities around me for convenience of class times. The staff at Crunch Fitness are very helpful and nice. I worked with Bishoy who was very informative and helpful on setting up my membership.

they don’t sell day passes on weekends, instead offering “discounted monthly memberships” - an antiquated sales tactic that leaves money on the table for customers that would never buy a monthly pass (e.g folks from out of town)

they also blatantly ask for your number just to enter into their system to spam you later

Had very bad experience with the staff from front desk. First off all very rude and unprofessional. They charged him 3 time for annual free during 8 month, their answer was that there is technical glitch. So be careful and check your account. Charged me twice for the same month even when it was frozen .

Really nice gym! Personable staff and instructors. The only thing I have to say is that the front desk could be better trained as far as policy goes. Management should provide more engaging and challenging studios with more experienced instructors. I would also request more restrooms if possible. Overall it’s a great gym to kick off exercise.

Good luck canceling ur membership y’all. I should’ve listened to the reviews before joining this scammy gym. I cancelled my membership and it wasn’t a one year contract either. It was month to month cancel anytime. They’re still charging. If ur tryna join a gym, I say go for LA fitness. This gym is over crowded and packed with people who hog the equipment using 2 or 3 machines and weights at once .When me and my fiance come to workout I got into several altercations with younger groups of childish and immature teens ....I would like to workout without feeling like I'm about to get in to a fight everytime I need to use a machines or free weights I recommend management fix these issues

Joined this gym during the pandemic because it was one of the few ones opened, but please DO NOT give this dirty place your hard earned money. Good luck trying to cancel a membership with them, they don’t care if you’ve moved across the country or are dealing with the loss of a loved one. They still refuse to cancel your account unless you go into the gym. I’ve never had so much trouble canceling a gym membership and trust me I’ve been to and canceled plenty of different memberships since 2020. Save yourself the hassle and go to any other gym possible.

I had recently signed up here and I am a beginner at the gym i had accidentally slammed the weight while i was lifting and the worker agressively yeld at me and told me to stop slamming the weight i had apologized saying it was my first time in the gym and i had asked if there was a better way of using the machine, the worker then tried to get me to sign up for paid training and also tried to sell me supplements, i would give this place zero stars if i could they dont respect women here

The gym gets very packed and oh my god do people who go here have awful gym etiquette. Also things are constantly breaking down here like the water fountain wasn’t functional for weeks and the sauna is consistently non operational.

Also they make it very difficult to cancel your membership. Just go to LA fitness or 24hr for like $10 and you’ll get more value out of it with the all the amenities that actually work unlike the ones at this location.

Aside from the gym being disgusting, good luck trying to cancel a membership without paying a lot of fees. Tried to cancel 3 months before end of term (while continuing to pay monthly fees) and was not allowed. Asked to come back on renewal date. Did that only to find out we'll be paying another annual feel + another month. Low integrity, no ethics, rip-off gym. They advertise $10 a month but there's zero chance you are paying that. When you add up all the initiation, annual, and other fees, you might as well go to a real gym - one that's maybe clean.

Under=averge Level is 1 above Planet Fitness, Not enough free weights. Sauna is always broken. And Gym closes rest rooms during peak hours for deep cleaning. Very bad Mangement. Don't come here spend the extra $5 or $3 dollars and sign up to LA Fitness.
