I've now been reasonably consistent at this gym. I come to appreciate the facility more and more as I get to know the employees, equipment and general layout. I've also become more familiar with the members. This gym is Clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The employees are great. 99 percent of them have been very kind, helpful, and friendly. I feel that the management cares about keeping a high level of professionalism and it shows in the all star behavior of their staff. This is truly a five star gym. Don't hesitate to enroll if you aren't already. This gym is superior to all the others. They have a room with great glute equipment. ( Booty Builder machines) These are hard to find. I look forward to going there each time . I LOVE IT!! SUPER EMPLOYEES EVERYWHERE!!!!! THANKS CRUNCH! NOW I'M BUFFED!!

I have been to many Crunch locations in diff states and the one in San Lorenzo is smaller than the ones I am used to in South Florida. For its size it has everything you need for a nice workout. It tends to get busy later in the day when people are getting work. The staff there are professional who know what they are doing. The one thing I have noticed that is different from some of the Crunch locations in Florida is how they don't have wet wipes in the California locations. I don't like using a spray bottle with paper towels.

Perfect example of “employee (customer service) can make it or break it. I feel sorry for the owner since my only reason to not continue my membership here will be the employee. I really wished I could catch his name. It would have been more direct.
We have recently moved from Florida and we are in still transition. “Male Karen” was super rude. I know there is no punishment for being rude and stupid, which is unfortunate. I was transferred to this particular location by the staff from FL, which he later realized/checked and said “yeah, you’re good”
I experienced two extremes Florida staff 10/10. Here staff in this location at least 0/10.

I'm a long time member here. It's a small gym run by kids pretty much. Too many people sit on machines and do nothing but play on their phones or have social gatherings. It can be very difficult to get any exercise. A lot of people never clean up behind themselves. The bathrooms always need cleaning and it seems every Sunday the paper towel dispensers are out

Two times in the same month where I come and they changed the hours or closed for the day. I checked the instagram, google maps, and apple maps and none mentioned this. Come on guys, it’s the least you can’t do, and I’ve seen many people like who found out at the door with the paper sign. Unacceptable

Cool gym but if you want to cancel or change your membership be prepared for the worst experience of your life as I've tried to change my membership 4 times and there's been a different reason why I can't each time. Not to mention I didn't ask for the highest membership when I initially signed up so yeah these guys really screwed me over. Instead of 15 dollars a month I been stuck with the 35 a month.

They need to do something about the humidity in this place. There is mold and mildew growing on the walls. It's gross.
Update: The mold has been cleaned off the walls but it's growing back before my eyes. The exercise room has a musty odor.

Don't sign up if you are looking to try them out first. I signed up for a 3-day pass, received an email saying the pass was valid for 3-days, got a call from an employee saying I signed up for a 3- day pass.

However, when I get to the gym later that day, the front desk said they don't do 3-day passes anymore. I showed them the email and he said there wasn't anything he could do.

Sorry, but I'm not going to waste time being shown around before I work out and then be asked to make a decision. 3-days is good so I can get in an upper and lower day before I decide.

Gym is fine, but when you cancel they will charge you an annual fee of 50 for next year regardless and if you don’t give them a 10 days ahead of next billing cycle you will also be billed for an extra month, that’s how they get you so be aware. You are better if going with 24 hour they have no annual fee and when I canceled they gave me money back for unbilled dates

Terrible customer service. The general manager JEFF is extremely rude and condescending. The other team members are always too busy to greet you because they’re having personal conversations at the front desk. And the Asian trainer is always mugging you. The only kind employee is Ryan. The gym is not well maintained. The women’s restrooms are consistently dirty and machines are always out of order but yet you pay a $50 yearly fee to keep the gym maintained. LMAO. Highly don’t recommend this gym.

The main issue I have with this gym is the workers who take up a lot of time on machines or floor space to take photos. I understand it's for your marketing purposes but do you really have to do that during peak times? There is a manager who does this and it's unprofessional. We pay to use the facilities, you do not. Also closing down the studio room to have "photoshoots" is ridiculous. This really has to stop.

I'll adjust my rating if this stops happening because I've enjoyed this gym for the most part over the passed 3 years. Also, can you please fix the broken equipment more quickly, fix your nonfunctional TVs, and keep the soap dispensers filled?

“Great Gym with Room for Improvement”

I recently visited the Crunch Fitness in San Leandro, located conveniently next to US Chef. The gym has ample parking and an impressive array of heavyweights, catering to all fitness enthusiasts. One standout feature I appreciate is the availability of a punching bag, adding a dynamic element to workouts.

While the overall experience is amazing, I do have a suggestion for improvement. The space around the punching bag could be expanded to prevent overcrowding and provide more individual space during workouts. Additionally, I noticed the punching bag showing signs of wear and tear over time, possibly due to frequent use. Enhancing the durability of the equipment would be a valuable improvement.

On a positive note, Crunch Fitness has recently added more free weights for squats and deadlifts, a welcome update for those focusing on strength training. Unfortunately, amenities like a sauna room and swimming pool are absent, but the friendly and accommodating staff make up for it.

In summary, Crunch Fitness in San Leandro is a top-notch gym, especially for those into heavy lifting. The accommodating staff and diverse equipment earn it a solid 10 out of 10. Addressing the punching bag space and durability would make the experience even better. Highly recommended for fitness enthusiasts.

Joined back in mid-2021 and recently canceled my membership.

Highlights:
-low monthly cost and annual fees.
-fairly clean place.
-has all the basics.
-friendly staff.

Lowlights:
-really small gym, but to be expected.
-absolutely packed house at peak hours.
-small parking lot.
-never fail to see groups of 4+ usually camping at a machine taking turns.
-paper towel dispensers and spray bottles empty quick.
-treadmills and various machines usually out of service for quite some time.

For what's offered, Crunch's pricing is not bad at all. I'll be paying more for a different gym, so hoping for a better experience.

This Crunch fitness branch in San Lorenzo is my hub as far as gym goes. I come here mostly to take a hot shower because I work through the night as a Medical personal. I have the option of patronizing Planet Fitness, 24Hours fitness close by . The reason I am stuck with Crunch is because of the excellent marketing genius of the trio at San Leandro, namely, Hunter , Chris and Cameron. These trio are the best Crunch can hire, they know how not to loose a customer , goes above and beyond to make sure a customer gets his or her money’s worth . They know why am there and always make sure the water is warm. They are truly the reason for customer flow and they remain a great assets to Crunch fitness. I will continue to come here as long as they are here. Kudos to Crunch for hiring knowledgeable, customer oriented staff👍✊🙏

This place is located in a tiny little shopping area. From the outside you would think this gym has nothing in it worthwhile. You walk in and you are incredibly blown away or at least I was! They have great equipment everything is so bright and colorful. It was a little busy at the time but I did not find a hard time finding a spot.
