My first visit 10/11/21
I requested the person at the reception to show me an specific equipment I wanted to use to exercise my stomach and HOW to use it. I followed him to that machine. Once we got to where this equipment was he just pointed at it and started to walk away. I asked him, how do you use it?
He just sat on the machine and did two or three repetitions and left. Just like that.

The staff was nice and the manager has been trying to help me, but the company itself is what I’ve been having issues with, I kept getting charged for a membership after cancelling and they also charged me an annual fee after I had already cancelled my membership for a couple months. I never got my refund for the annual fee after about a month, so when I finally reached out to them about it again I was told they would mail me a check instead. I got the check in the mail today and they sent me $14.95 and also misspelled my last name. I’ve made it clear multiples times that they owe me money for the annual fee. This has been an ongoing issue for months that can’t seemed to ever be solved.

This is a fantastic gym. Great management with a super vibe and a large assortment of machine and free weights. Lots of bikes, treadmills and elliptical machines. The whole facility is kept very clean including the bathrooms. I love working out here every day!

Awesome gym honestly, never had any issues going to this gym and I’ve been going here for about a year now. Has everything you want in a gym. May seem small at first but then you notice all the equipment is there for any type of training. Great environment and cool people come to this gym. The staff are very cool too. I’ve been to many other gyms in my life before and I gotta say crunch is my favorite without a doubt. Great affordable prices too. They also offer personal training if you may need it. Tanning and hydromassage are included with the premium membership. Bathrooms are clean too.

I signed up for a membership 2 days before the gym had to close (again) like last November so I was charged. Then since it was closed I didn't get any charges on my card until just this week! Now I have a charge, not sure for what. Crunch has my email address and I never once rec'd any communication about the gym's status or reopening. So I then go to their website and they have an outdoor set up. Well, wouldn't that be something to communicate to your members????? I get that the membership is dirt cheap but it would be nice to know about any reopening.

Crunch makes it difficult for you to cancel their membership. I was stuck overseas due to the corona pandemic and ended up paying a yr of membership without even being in the same time zone as the gym charging me. Crunch has forever lost my business, there cheap monthly rates do not substitute customer service. We live in the 21st century where we have access to emails and shouldn't be restricted to mail as the only form of communication.

Looking to get back to the gym, the San Marco's location is open. Our regular gym is not. A quick tour shows a good facility although smaller than ours. Staff was friendly and helpful. Masks and distancing are necessary.

Small club with ok equipment. A few machines need reupholstering badly for a while and a couple of bikes need work. They're constantly out off order. Ladies room always has a bad smell and is freezing. Main floor at peak hours is too hot and smells bad.

Love the gym! The variety of their clients, all ages, shapes, & walks of life make anybody fit in with no shame. I'm there on a 14 day pass. I was a little disappointed that the staff (manager) appeared to be very disinterested in a possible new member. He pointed to the wet massage area. He didn't walk me around & explain the workout areas, location of the rest rooms, shower area... When asked about memberships he was very aloof & almost seemed bothered. It was not busy at the time so I was a bit confused... I thought the gym pass was to help recruit new members?

Crunch Fitness San Marcos has AMAZING customer service!!! Dwight, the general manager is wonderful to work with. I needed to make some changes and he help with that and did so with professionalism. If you are looking for a great gym, with great customer service that will serve you with respect, you should pick Crunch San Marcos. It has a great workout environment, and does not feel intimidating at all. The staff is helpful, and always friendly!

This gym is awesome. I recently moved to Orange County and miss the San Marcos gym. I have to go to a franchise Crunch now. And believe me when I say...they just want you money and don't care about anything else. If you go to this gym, do not get the Peak membership unless you plan on bringing a friend. It is a waste of money if you do. And for the love of God, stick to corporate owned Crunch gyms and never go to a private owned franchise Crunch gym.
