This place has gone downhill ever since the original Manager 😕 was there. I have been trying to cancel my account for the past couple of months only to get the run around. I'm at my breaking point with Crunch fitness and their employees that don't have answers. I am going to file a formal complaint with The Better Business Bureau.

This gym could be really great! Machines and equipment are continuously broken or not functioning properly. Cardio equipment is broken not turned on or is not working properly. At least they got the leaks from the ceiling fixed. On Saturday and Sundays you can’t rely on if they will be there to open the gym or not. But for $9.99 I guess that’s what you get. And the staff really doesn’t care!

It is very hot inside, there is no air conditioner or fans. Equipment is not maintained. Numerous broken machines. Large majority of the equipment’s pads are worn and ripped. I would not go back, nor would I recommend anyone use this facility.

Be careful!! They offer free trails saying they won't create a membership or charge you for the month but then surprise!!! A crunch fitness debit from your account. They give you the run around of a supposed manager thats above other managers and only they can help resolve the issue but again surprise!!!! No one answers!! Still trying to get a refund and now have another monthly 69.99 charge even after I spoke with a manager who canceled the membership that I never agreed to in the first place. 3 emails sent to the email provided and still can not get a response!! They were at big garden. I was very excited to go however a month or two months later they closed up after I paid to go to that gym a whole year actually it was $380 for the whole year so they closed it up I cannot go to the one in Clovis And since then I’ve been asking them for my money and they have not gave me my money at all they said it’s gonna go into back to my account. It’s been a year and a half since they moved out of that one in the garden and I still have not seen my money in my account so yeah, just don’t pay in advance And when I went there, they were all packing. They couldn’t even give me a receipt cause their printers, their printers were in a box already that’s what they said to me yeah bad bad business. One of the worst gyms I've been to. Many of the machines have pads that are worn out and actually duct taped to the machine. Instead of having paper towels with disinfectant they have Rags that get used over and over again. This is pathetic.

Please and I mean PLEASE check your bank statements. This place has charged inconsistent prices and blames it on “overdraft fees” because my routing number “didn’t work”. Make it make sense. If it didn’t work, how are you able to take my money? Also, the way they charge monthly is not consistent on the same day every month, it’s random days. it started out good but has gone down hill since. The only time we get in at 5 am (which is the opening time M-TH) is if the cleaning staff is there. The counter staff has not been showing up until will after 5 am. One day they were over 1 hour later and then this morning we didnt even get into the gym until 5:10 am and when you have to work out and then get to work on time we dont get to do our whole routine at all. I canceled my membership with Crunch Fitness in 2023 and was assured the process was complete. Unfortunately, I discovered I was charged again in 2024 and even in 2025. This was highly disappointing, as I trusted the company to handle my cancellation properly.

Thankfully, Marissa was incredibly helpful in assisting me to resolve this issue recently. She ensured my membership was finally canceled correctly and took the time to address my concerns. However, the fact that I had to go through this process multiple times—and was charged for a service I no longer used—has left me frustrated.

I even attached screenshots of my statements showing the unauthorized charges over the past two years as proof of the billing issues I encountered. I am currently awaiting a full refund for these charges, but if this isn’t resolved, I will escalate the matter to corporate.

While I appreciate Marissa’s help today, the recurring billing problem and the time it took to address it have been a poor experience overall. I hope Crunch Fitness takes this feedback seriously to improve their cancellation and billing processes.

Came here for a couple workout sessions while in town for work. The gym is quite big and well equipped for every workout except leg days. The ratio for machines is 90% quads 9% calves, and 1% hamstring. How is there only one hamstring curl machine and nothing else? Not even any boxes or bars for hip thrusts unless you use a squat rack. It’s quite annoying to go to a machine just for people to say there’s a line to use it.

Worked out here. Selection of weights and activities is superior to Planet Fitness but state of repair is not. Looks like it’s in a bit of trouble with unused storage areas missing paint and damage to some machines. I like the interior look. Fairly clean and active cleaning going on while I was working out. My highlight about this gym is the HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) classes with Coach Ashley. She is a pusher makes it challenging with the extreme workouts. For you do one on one training I recommend her. I wish they had a earlier training class with I heard they do but it’s no where near close to the evening classes as far as the intensity because it’s more elder folks. Overall this gym could be more cleaner especially the restroom/lockerroom and the sauna as been down for sometime now which isn’t right because we pay for that in the membership. The staff is smooth overall.

Been a member for a couple years and it’s always had its drawbacks. Finally had enough, the locker rooms and restrooms are always filthy and smells like death. There’s always at least a couple machines broken. I always do a boxing workout after initial workout and I’ve been told twice i can’t use the boxing bag area because they are having a class. Same thing with the small room they have. As a business owner i can say they have a flawed business model. I cant charge a customer for a service and not give them that full service they paid for. If your a serious gym goer that wants a good experience, this is not the place for you.

Pretty good place to train. It would be nice if they had a sign that says dont kick bags with shoes on because shoes can wear on the bags over time or cut the leather. I like the open space when it's slow, so I try to train during non preak hours. They have some good trainers there too, if you're looking to get started with a program. Visited for a couple workouts while staying nearby for work. It is a typical well-equipped Crunch, and definitely provided a platform for a good workout. Having said that, it was a bit dark (although not an issue) and poorly maintained with damage to mirrors, equipment, walls, bathroom facets, etc. There is absolutely room for improvement simply by maintaining the facilities they already have.

I let the front desk know. And I know they're waiting on a shipment of paper towels to come in but the gym should pay for extra paper towels until then. Having one rag that everyone shares can spread diseases like athletes foot; hand, foot and mouth disease. And a few others. I had a terrible experience with Crunch Fitness on Shaw Avenue in Clovis, CA. When I joined, I wasn't given a clear contract to review. Instead, they had me sign on an EFTPOS machine without showing anything on the screen. When I later tried to cancel my membership, they claimed I had signed a one-year contract, which I never agreed to. This is highly deceptive and misleading.

Make sure to thoroughly check everything before signing anything at this gym, or you might find yourself trapped in a contract you never intended to enter. Extremely disappointing and untrustworthy. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Beware! I have not lived near a crunch fitness gym in almost 3 years. I have REPEATEDLY attempted to cancel my membership and have been charged over and over again. The most recent $111 when the normal payment is supposed to be what $10 maybe $11 per month. This company is extremely unethical. It says online you can cancel online, by phone etc.. I am now being told the only way is through certified letter or going in to the location. Since I’m nowhere near a location I guess I get to spend more $$ for a certified letter which most likely won’t work either. The absolute most horrifying gym experience ever. They lie, they cheat, they steal. E.G. Overpacked, unsanitary, creeps, loud annoying music, non working corporate numbers, no supervisor on site, no daycare, expensive and not worth it. Horrible staff, unprofessional, rude, not properly trained, and immature, Luis Coronado and Ashley the head coach in particular. They don’t even know what’s on their own contracts (a headache) the both of them. I’ve been going here 3 years now and it’s about time I’ve left a review. I love this gym and truly owe this gym to my love of fitness. I love how comfortable it is here, no one bothers you. I don’t have a complaint except for when some machines were broke and upholstery was not good but that was after the pandemic and equipment was hard to get. They did communicate this to us with signs in the bathroom so that we weren’t left wondering. It is a great gym for all types of people. I came here after I “graduated” planet fitness during the pandemic. Since the beginning, they’ve always done their best with what they’ve had. I don’t have plans to go to a different gym anytime soon.

Read the other 1 star reviews, this place steals. I have canceled my membership multiple times over the last few years and they keep charging. They will tell you its canceled but keep charging you, then without contacting you they will send it to collections. They have done this TWICE now... Super unethical. I have not been here in years, have canceled multiple times, and they just keep the account open. Unless you are planning on a lifetime membership without the option to cancel, don't sign up here. They will not let you cancel and will try to ruin your credit. You don't have to believe me though, read the other 1 star reviews. This is their standard practice it seems.

I joined this gym when I moved to Fresno, and have been a member for 36 months. It is of course a commercial gym, but experience will vary by location. With the peak membership I had access to Fig Garden gym and also San Lorenzo whenever I visited my family. That in itself is already valuable. The pros of this gym: (1) plenty plenty of parking available (2) easy in and easy out with your car (3) not too busy at 5am (4) average to above average in cleanliness, considering how busy it is (5) has a track on the second floor, with additional unique body weight weightlifting equipment (6) the front desk always greets you and says goodbye when you leave. (7) The manager Luis and associates were very great and solving my billing issues and refunded overcharges promptly. It was busy for him, but he still gave me his time, which is difficult for a commercial gym. His customer service skills will take him far. He personally reached out to ABC Financial to fix the issue. ABC Financial is the billing company that works with Crunch. I don’t know what happened but the system kept charging me the annual fee every single month, on top of my recurring normal monthly fee. The cons of this gym: (1) when equipment is malfunctioning it’ll take 1-2 weeks for repair (2) the ceiling pipes were leaking and a bucket was placed to catch the water until it was fixed, which took a month or more maybe (3) 2 power racks, 1 squat rack. So good luck trying to either deadlift OR squat during peak hours. Some people literally bring CHAIRS to sit on to wait for the rack. Considering the member demographic (mostly ages 20-30), 3 additional racks would be great. Crunch San Lorenzo has 6 squat racks and it’s still half the size of Crunch Shaw. (4) the fact that I even had a billing issue, I know other members that have a similar experience, so it’s important that you follow your charges correctly and understand the reasoning behind the charges. (5) there’s rarely any soap for the sinks. Overall, I had a good experience, and my issues were resolved in a very professional manner, but as with any purchase, understanding what you are going into is important.

This was my wife’s home gym location, she moved out of state due to me being military, and then she had a horrible experience in Tennessee and decided to cancel the membership due to some horrible experience. Have been bounced back and fourth and decided to freeze my wife’s card. You can get your workouts in for the most part. Decent free weight selection. Too few squat racks for even slow hours, I don't know how anyone gets a workout in peak hours. The posted hours say it opens at 6 but today it isn't even open by 8 am. Staff has usually been kind to me. I've lost count how long over half the cable machines have been out of order, and so much of the equipment is broken in different ways. It's like they bought the equipment initially then decided to never spend more money on equipment.

Been a member for more than a year now and it's heen great, awesome atmosphere but my main draw was the amount of punching bags they had until the end of the year. Will sadly be pausing my membership until they get the bags back bc they are 90% of why i payed for the membership in the first place and everything I ask about when they'll get the new ones all I hear is that it's been delayed again. Overall great atmosphere but please, please get those punching bags back in.

It’s better to go through the reviews whenever someone is going to invest their time and money. This gym is good for classes they offer . Most of the machines are out of order and no one knows when back in order to use. They have information in their website still you have to come in person to start or cancel your membership. If you want to freeze your membership they still charge you annual charges. Even if you call them they will say you will soon get reply from us . But they don’t . Three types of memberships you can opt from . Charges are different of course.

I start my membership without me knowing that there was an agreement, the person who help me at the desk never explain the agreement and they never give me a paper for me to read. So when I called to cancel due to COVID I’m been very sick at home, I spoke with LUIS store manager and they charge me cancellation fee, monthly fee, yearly fee. which I think is unfair and ilegal in my opinion because they should at least sit with the costumer and show in paper or verbally explain the agreement.

WARNING. This place does nothing but take money. Within a few months with the training program has taken almost a $1,000 straight from my bank account when I already was paying everything on time. They’ve made my bank account overdraft. Within the past 5 days they have taken $600 from my bank account. I tried fixing this problem last month. When talking to the GM last week I had to come in and prove I’ve been paying on time for months and that this company has been pulling extra money from me for months. GM just blamed trainers for not knowing anything and doing things wrong. Said by a week should be fixed or in the process. Instead $600 gets pulled from my account. I tried canceling my training program that day going in proving my payments due to me not wanting to do business with a company so comfortable pulling out extra from my account as well as I don’t have the money right now to be dealing with all this. GM told me I wasn’t allowed to cancel. Nothing has been fixed. They continue to take money from me and GM seems to be fine with that. Again, pick who you want to do business with because this was a BIG mistake and nothing has been fixed while I continue to lose ALL my money. Machines always broken. The trainers were GREAT though. Anything above it’s all about taking your money and leaving the customer in debt. I work really hard for my money and dislike a company/business completely fine taking extra MULTIPLE times. This was nothing but a stressor. This shouldn’t happen so many times

Can’t bring a guest in even though I pay for the membership to allow a guest . Explained to the guy in front my friend did not want to make a membership (since he can come with me for free). Long story short we were basically forced to register and once you register you can not cancel over the phone you have to come in store where you signed up HA . All in all beware of these money hungry places.

The employees are awesome and super friendly. I used to like the gym but it's getting extremely crowded, the restrooms are gross and some faucets don't work, there are about 6 machines that have been out of order for more than 3 months, and many of the machines that work have poor upholstery. Not worth my money, waiting to get out of contract to move to GB3. This location should get tips from their fig garden location.

Just love Crunch Fittness. They have the best workout equipment. I really appreciate the sauna in the women’s locker room.I absolutely love the workout machines upstairs & making rounds up stairs is so fun along with the spin cycle bikes. It’s just a super cool gym @ only $10 a month. It’s just fantastic!!!🖐😁👌

Tried going for a month but decided that I wanted to cancel. The employee on the phone was being a little rude and kept insisting that I freeze it after I stated MULTIPLE times that I want to CANCEL it. It's like he was ignoring me, and he asked "Why did you even sign up in the first place?" I haven't had the time to go and I recently got a large medical bill so I'm cancelling all my monthly payments just to pay that bill off.

Been at this gym long enough to have critiques. First gym is not open 24hrs , second the promise they made when we sign up is not kept, third gym is full of disrespectful people , the pt here are pretty bad especially the short fat one , who literally looks at social media n counting reps while the customer is struggling and doing her workouts wrong, not to mention the amount of broken machines. Dirty bathroom bad lighting , very little maintenance done here

Some machines have been broken for months. Dirty bathrooms with no toilet paper. It can get packed in gym and when there is a class with 3 people in the huge class room, you are not allowed to be in the room and told leave even though they are using a small portion of the room. I’ve never felt so discriminated against as a woman. LOUIS “the general manager” had the audacity to personally attack my sister and I when I attempted to cancel a gym membership I’ve been paying for. LOUIS launched a tirade of insults, discriminating against my sister who’s disabled, and asking if we had personal issues between us as the reason for cancellation. I attempted to educate LOUIS that his comments were very inappropriate but he was loss cause.

The account had been cancelled, and LOUIS coerced my disabled sister, to reactivate the account without approval from me, the person who actually created, manages, and pays for the account. He took advantage of us. He was not authorized to reactivate my account.

LOUIS unquestionably skipped out on manager and harassment training his whole life.

I’ve enjoyed going to crunch for a lil over a year now. But the old manager isn’t there & the new guy is kinda funny lol. I like Lou but he’s a Stricklan & I don’t do rude. Ashley has always been great surprised she isn’t MANAGER YET. Besides that it’s pretty clean. Limited cleaning spray barely any napkins like they ran out. I like the gym; however it is not clean at all. Been here sometimes and all but one cleaning station is stocked ( no it’s not anexaggeration). I’ve also asked 3 different employees about the leg extension machine that has been broken for over a month and a half and they said they have the parts it just needs to be fixed(no, really?)its now going on 2 months now. So my membership had been on a freeze due to medical and the 1st month it was due to come off I got a bank alert $44 was taken out of my account for dues. Well I had tryd to call them and the phone number don’t work that’s listed so had to call the other location to get a number for them. When I talked to the girl I get told I was charged a late fee which was why I was charged $44 and I’m thinking how is that even possible considering my account was frozen due to medical. So finally get a hold of them by email to cancel my membership and they send me my contract, yes aware there’s a contract but they charged my acct a total of $44 when my actual contract is for $29 I believed. The charge is wrong on their side and is fraud as I was notified of that amount or any increase to my membership amount. Finally after being smart I told them either cancel or I’m calling corporate which they agreed to cancel….
If you join here watch what they charge id hate to see you get charged the way I did and then to be sneaky. New owners ya still crooked like the prior ones.

I was a member here since they opened however; due to an extremely RUDE associate at the front desk and a mix up with my account I have quit. I also couldn't help but notice the employee completely lied on my form to quit stating that I quit becuase it was "too busy". That was a boldfaced lie. (Explains why he really did not want to give me a form of conformation). I quit because there was some mix up on their end and instead of workin it out the employee just wanted to argue. To the point where I did not want to come back in. Unfortunately this gym just isn't it anymore. Pretty disappointing.

I don’t know where these “nice staff” comments are coming from. There’s one dude with glasses that is nice there the rest of them are rude. I moved 30 mins away and they made me come into cancel in person and lied to me over the phone saying I had to sign something, how unprofessional it’s not my fault you’re 25 years old with no career making minimum wage don’t take out your anger on customers.

Guys please be careful with this establishment! This is a franchise and not corporate because I couldn't file a complaint via customer service or through corporate. Make sure you read the terms and conditions before signing the contract! They will charge you even after you request a freeze in person. And to cancel membership, it is a nightmare!

My son who barely turned 18 went in with a friend and signed up but they did not explain it to him he believed he paid for a whole year. Then his account was getting charged for different amounts. I called to get it resolved since HE DOESNT EVEN GO, they refused to cancel the membership he didnt even understand he agreed to. Poor customer service and when you ask for management or corporate they refuse to give you the information and insist we have to go in to speak to management.

Good gym for the money. However, I recently cancelled my membership after being with them since 2019. One of the employee at front desk seems to always have an issue with me whenever he sees me, but always give other customers a welcome. I approached him to try and fix a payment issue I've been having and his mood suddenly went from smiling to a dead look as if he didn't want me to talk to him. The next day roles along and I see the same employee. This time, I bought my little sister since she wanted to go with me. I checked in as usual and was told i failed to pay. I showed him my account and transaction history from my bank showing that the process did go through. I was told differently. I told myself "screw it" and paid for it again. I didn't want to cause anymore personal issues between him and me. As soon as I was about to walk in, I was told my sister could not go in. I asked why. He explained because she is a minor, she needs to have her own membership. I explained to him that other staff members had never had any issues with me bringing in my sister nor explained that part for me for the past couple of months I brought her. He gave me a look as if I'm stupid and explained that if I don't pay entry for her, then she can't come inside. I told the guy "F** it. We'll just leave. Thanks anyways." I cancelled my membership in fear that he's going to give me another hard time and I might just blow up and start something with him. Probably not gonna come back any time soon until he's no longer employed there.

I originally signed up for this gym under the impression that the management would act more accordingly and be accountable for the establishment. When it came time for me to address an issue regarding the actions of employees the manger took the offense and because his employees failed to communicate with him their own actions it was then my responsibility to address the matter to him directly but he was never available, nowhere to be found, or employees would leave me on hold and say nothing. The manager refused to be accountable for their actions and comments he himself has said to me in the past. This establishment works under false pretenses and does not have your best interest by far. They will also continue to charge you for absent services. I do not recommend this gym to anyone.

This is a great gym, but the management is just not upfront, and purposely leading to a miscommunication. I started a membership for Summer 2021 due to closure of Fresno State gym, the front desk Mehrdad told me that doing it for 3 months and you can cancel it, he will talk to his supervisor and that will be done. I trusted him and did that, 3 months later he turns around telling me that this is now a one year committement, whether i like it or not I will get charged. He said he did talk to his supervisor, which i highly doubt. Even though it is a great burden to pay extra dollars as a student I have endured it. The 1 year committement ended in April 2022. As of today, I saw another attempt on deducting almost double the amount of monthly membership. There were no emails telling me that recurring payment is coming up, or i am signed up with another payment after the 1 year committement. I have specifically told them, i am done with you guys after the "forced one year committement", and have it cancelled at the end. I made that very clear in a call with Mehran in November 2021. Now I am still getting charged?! I feel sad, when a great gym is filled with these problems. I would recommend the gym but ABSOLUTELY not this management.

After several communications, I was able to get the membership to be cancelled. During which I was charged additional 49.95 and 29.95. The process of cancelling the membership the manager who responded send a couple one sentence emails which is interesting. As I requested a refund, the manager did not respond. Despite I told them I was done after 1 year committment, they did not show a thought of care. Without any prior warning a 13 month charge was applied regardless.

For people who are trying to get the membership cancelled, do it early. And makesure you follow up constantly. DO NOT TRUST THEM THAT THEY WILL CANCELL YOUR MEMBERSHIP AFTER THE LAST MONTH. Overall experience is just going from bad to worst for me at this point.

Greetings everyone! I hope all is well with you during this unprecedented Pandemic. My Topic is about "Explicit Music in Fitness Classes/ Gym". I've addressed this issue to my Personal Trainer and Manager of this establishment (Shaw Ave.) regarding Company Policies for "Verbiage" that relates to Profanity in Music. If Crunch has a "Policy" in Place, remind every instructor/Staff about it. The Manager is "responsible" to execute this Policy accordingly. Before any music/playlist is played in the gym, Firstly, he/she should listen, review, approve, or disapprove with playlist. *Words of wisdom... The importance of Fitness Gym Etiquette comes from Self-Awareness that allows you to respond suitably to the people and situation around you. It sets a pleasant Tone for your workout and makes the gym a great Place for your workout and a great place to be. Having said that, Crunch supporting staff were advised of the Type of Music, Vulgarisms, and explicit dirty expressions in the lyrics (English/Spanish). This generation most often listen to "Hip-Hop" and "Rap" to work out in the gym. I understand Profanity is common in some environment, BUT, in a fitness/gym establishment could be a problem in the Positive Culture your trying to create. The morning Zumba instructor, her music is mostly in Spanish, her playlist conveys "Foul language and unacceptable explicit lyrics" to my ears and other Senior Citizens present. Who wants to hear the B.S. word, Sh** , or your "Rear-end" in Spanish/English. I'm supposed to enjoy myself, workout, and enjoy the environment. The site Manager has some Homework to do. Went to this gym for months during the lockdown, until I moved out of state in May 2021. After cancelling my membership, the gym kept on charging me for months, until I had no option but to call my credit card company to stop the charges. Not only I never got a refund from this gym, they kept the billing open and sent me to collections where I was robbed for another $160.

Avoid this place, and if you come here, keep all the paperwork. Take pictures of it and email them to yourself, or you'll regret it later. Planet Fitness is just a block away and they're cheaper and less crowded anyway.
