I loved this gym and sad to see it go!! There was no notification ahead of time that they were closing. This week I showed up and there is a sign saying they are no longer open. I called their chino location that said it's permanent. Now I have to find a new gym :[

They refused to let my 14-year-old nephew work out as a guest, despite the fact that my membership allows for a free guest pass. Then they had the audacity to say that he could work out if he purchased a membership, which is mind-boggling because heβd be using the same equipment, so what difference does it make? Also, as I was waiting to speak to the manager, who was coincidentally in the restroom at the time, I noticed that the guest pass waiver has a clause written in it, asking for the signature of a guardian for guests, under 18. If this is a βnewβ policy according to them, this Upland branch failed to remove that clause from the guest pass registration form. It took me pointing this out to the manager, who eventually came out of the restroom, for her to acknowledge that it was their mistake for leaving in that clause. Poor policy management and clarity, and lack of empathy for this gym. Shame on them and I hope the owner reads this review.

Account closed in 2018. They have been trying to charge an old bank account in the past month and claiming the balance will be sent to collections. These guys are thieves. File a complaint with the DFPI if they do this to you.

I love it, because it has everything I need, and I'm able to get my workout in and get out. I just wish they would stay open till midnight, instead of 11pm. And weekend, stay open till 8pm, instead of 7pm.

I was assured by an employee, on the phone and in-person prior to signing the policy, to cancel before a certain date to avoid the annual fee. I had to leave the city so I did not want to pay for 10 more months. When trying to cancel 5 days before said date, I was told that the employee made a mistake and that I should have fully read the agreement. Note that other gyms typically require cancelling 14 days in advance before the next charge. In this case, they charged my account for an additional month and annual fee 45 days in advance.
Manager never responded to my email. Corporate did, however, and had sense enough to take responsibility and waive the annual fee.
Besides that, the weights and cable attachments were always scattered around and hard to find, and one of the commonly used dumbbells was gone for over a month - and still is - despite there being a replacement request.

Stay away from this gym (location). I believe that I signed up during the COV19 shutdown, but I never visited the gym because they were closed. Anyway, they place a collection of $157.00 on my credit and cause my score drop by almost 50 points. They never contacted me, validate the debt, or try to resolve the issue before reporting negative info on my credit as required the law. Their illegal actions are in violation
Of the fair credit reporting act and California consumer protection laws. I'm considering legal actions if necessary resolve the issue or fix the damages done to my credit.

Been to a few local Crunch gyms and I'd say the Upland location is one of the better ones. Decent layout and a good selection of Freemotion machines. Always nice and cool inside and rarely packed busy. Staff members are friendly and welcoming. One of the guys here Leo has always helped me out with any issues and queries I've had. Hydromassage bed is 10/10.

I was a member for about a year, I left thinking the grass was greener and was wrong. It was easy to cancel. I walked right in filled out a paper and just like that it was canceled. They also didnβt take money during COVID, this Gym has just about everything I need. Itβs small and can get packed, but for the most part itβs ok. One thing is I did have an issue with is the cleanliness of the facility. They need to make more rounds and disinfect.

I think this place is great the staff is amazing at the moment, good job guys! I like the exercise machines and the positive vibe aswell. I would give it 5 stars but in the past there's been 3 employees who act like angry security guards. I mean it's a gym, be cool and stay cool, it's hard enough to find the motivation just to get to the gym sometimes. This was before covid hit. But now the people are cool mostly young cool employees. Good job guys.

I love this place. The layout is pretty great and they have lots of equipment. However I recommend going when it's not it's busiest because I imagine it getting pretty full around the gym rush hour times. I go around 12-3PM and hardly anyone is there. I have another crunch near my home in chino but decide to go to this one because of it's bigger size and more readily available equipment.

Have to repost again. Equipment is great. Regular staff is great. But manager Anthony fuentes is rude, cant take criticism, and is a bad look for the company/corporate location. Especially when they hang up continuously in a customer's face. Now I am trying to pay fees with front desk and he continuously hangs up. Which can be considered "entrapment" into payment. Which is also... not a good look. So just a warning to consumer and owner, rethink somebody who knows how to handle a management position.

This is a good gym for starters! It has a great variety of machines. I would give this a 5 star if the showers were better taken care of, the curtins need replacing and the shower heads as well. The shower with the bench's boards are lose and one even comes off. Other than that, the staff is great and at the time I go it is not so full.

Crunch - Upland is a rip off. I opened an account with my husband and I many years ago. I wasn't aware that they opened separate accounts for both of us. I cancelled mine paid an outstanding balance from a year ago when they said they did not get paid. Mind you they have been taking monthly payments out for a year. After paying and cancelling my account, I get another amount taken out of my account. I call and they said my husband has a separate account and it has an outstanding balance. I said they took the outstanding balance out in March. The manager said there was nothing taken out. I have proof from my bank that the balance they are saying is due was taken out. So Crunch is double charging me! I will never use them again and will tell all my friends never to join their gym.

The machines hurt. This is not a place for a beginner.....if you do cross country or can lift some serious weight. Then this is the place for you. Reason supposedly I did not cancel my membership. Iβm not the only only one with a similar case. Be careful when canceling membership. Now my credit score is bad. At the end they donβt care about it. I could of sworn I cancelled my membership here over 4 years ago. There is no proof or document that shows it so for the last 4+ years they have been charging me $25 a month. Never get a flyer or call about membership, the only reason I found out is because I lost my card that they charge and now I have a past due.... I called to get this resolved. They say I have to do by email or inside gym. Sent email and they wonβt close account cause of the past due. Go into gym and same thing. They want to collect $40+ from me for past due. I said Iβm not paying that. So they canβt cancel membership. I asked when last time I used it and they said June of 2015. Thatβs been 4yrs and 4months . So they collected $1,297.40 without me using my membership for 4.4 years, and they canβt just waive $40+ so I can cancel it. Come on!!!

I got a 7 day guest pass to try out this gym. I was really interested in signing up as its really close to my home and convenient. I received emails from the manager yesterday that I would be in at 6am for my first workout. He responded stating that Noelle would be there to show me around. I arrived this morning shortly before 6am and the lights are on but doors are locked. They are supposed to open at 5am. It's now 618 and doors still locked and several members have come and gone. This is not a good look for a perspective member. I am willing to change my rating depending on if the situation changes but at this point I'm not pleased.

So I had a membership for another crunch gym but got a day pass for this one in specific to see if I liked this one better, so I can change my membership to this one. I get to the front counter and the girl checks my day pass and ID and let me in. I had told her that I was thinking about changing gym locations so I left my number and name so the manager can call me. In the middle of my workout she tells me the managers in front so I go to the front and he tells me I would have to cancel the other gym pass and create a new one there making me paying a starting fee again. So I kindly denied and went back to workout since I had the guest pass. Literally 2 minutes later he looks for me and tells me I can't workout there because I have a pass for the other gym and that in the bottom of the email it says I can't do that. and kicks me out he even followed me out to make sure I wouldn't keep working out or something. So I go on the day pass that i got emailed to me and no where on there does it say I can't do that. That's the worst customer service I've ever seen.

Customer service is terrible, Iβm beyond frustrated with how this company runs their business. I have a membership at LA Fitness and had no intentions on signing up with Crunch. I went in for a free trail back in February, because a friend and I wanted to check out the gym. Without my acknowledgment they signed me up for a membership instead. I had no card on file or even was aware this happened until a week ago when I got a call from a telemarking company. The general manager Anthony Fuentes and his team had no care to fix this issue even with knowing I havenβt been there since that day of the free trail. If something like this happened to you please reach out to me. If this is how they run their business itβs a shame, and still expect me to pay the total amount for these past 4 months. Letting it accumulate because Iβm not able to βcancel my membershipβ.

I had signed up for a membership since before they opened , so I was a member definitely. Never once had a problem until they started switching management like underwear . One day I decided to freeze my account. When I went back to sign up the only reasonhey let me get my old account back is because one lady messed up. A year later I signed up my mom for the sammmme membership I had because she had frozen her account so when I went to get her account back years later , they wanted me to get a whole new membership which they have her info on the screen telling me all her info but saying they canβt find her . My point is the membership i signed up for was false I signed documents that had what was in my price range . They swiped my moms card , after that my mom called me like a month later saying the bill was way more than they had said . Then they went on to tell my mom Iβm a LIAR . That i wanted to take advantage of her which to me he is trying to be physiological. My mom didnβt believe them but no longer wanted anything to do with them ,being older they talked her into canclation fees which was way more than we signed up for . & THE PERSON WHO HELPED HER WAS THE MAIN MANAGER. AS WELL HE TOLD HER HE DOESNT SPEAK SPANISH . Which was a lie . The person who signed me up got fired a week later. I honestly hope this doesnβt happen to anyone . Their level of professionalism is totally out the window .

The overall gym itself is okay, basic gym setting. Although the workers are lame. They may be nice i guess but almost all of them have no idea what their doing when it comes to their computer system. They can't charge items right. They get gym memberships mixed up. The general manager is never there when he needs to be. If you have any problem no one will know what to do and you'll have to call corporate fpr absolutely nothing to get solved. The equipment is decent. The cleanliness is decent.

I absolutely loved going to that gym. I've been hit with some hard times and going to this gym really helped me move forward with my life. Equipment was easy to use, nobody bothered me, all around good experience EXCEPT for when I tried to cancel my membership. It took me 5 phone calls, 2 emails, and a trip to a separate location just to end my membership.
They have a new manager now and he was the one who FINALLY issued my cancellation. All I can say is, I wish that they would have treated me better.

When visiting this specific location for the first time the employee behind the desk asked if I had an instagram and if I could follow their page to bring in more attractive people to this location. That kind of threw me off. Then to add, the machines are horribly dirty, specifically the stair climber. Looks like they haven't been cleaned in weeks. Will not be visiting this location again.

This gym used to be clean. Went in today since I was in the area, and this gym reeks of urine! Completely disgusting. The equipment is dirty. They do not require a towel. People sweat all over the equipment and do not wipe the equipment down after using it. There is no one cleaning the machines or cardio equipment. This place is disgusting and I wouldn't be surprised if someone has gotten a staph or MRSA infection from working out here. I will not be returning until they upgrade their staff and gym. I am considering canceling my memberships because of this gym. Very dissatisfied and disappointed. I hope this is the only dirty Crunch gym.

My experience...
HORRIBLE!! I cancelled my membership months ago, I called and asked how to do so "prior" I went in to the facility as advised. No confirmation was given according to the facility, all they can provide is an email, which didn't state any proof "I cancelled"
Due to the lack of professionalism and knowledge of Crunch, my account became overdrawn because they kept trying to take out monthly fees.
I've requested several times to speak to the billing dept. or corporate office, all they kept telling me, was it's in N.Y. I'm left on hold, told the facility manager will call me back and never does, or the call is disconnected, making me call back.
I've confirmed through my bank and they stated, "it's on their billing end, not the bank" Til today, I am still fighting with these people. I've read such reviews for the same matter prior, but gave them a benefit of the doubt since they were old reviews. Nope! still dealing with the same issues. As far as the facility, it was ok, clean, and nice machines. However, you can get that at other facilities without the billing headaches.

Love this gym...no muss no fuss...can get crowded at times and they have gotten rid of my favorite class (trx) but overall I love the simplicity of the gym and most people who work out there are friendly and polite. You dont have the pro body builders but people who are natural and are serious about working out. Not a meat market either...again something I really look for in a gym.

Poor and horrible customer service. Brian and Scarlett totally take advantage of sick people going through hardships with cancer. My wife who was dealing with cancer and chemotherapy went into Crunch in upland ca. to explain what was going on and Brian was very unprofessional, rude, inconsiderate, and cold hearted to my wife when she explained what her situation was. Brain a manager with Crunch told my wife " This is not how we do business, you need to just come back after your surgery " Scarlett on the other hand giving my wife false information by stating " we will refund you the money owed to you in 5 to 10 business days" I also talked with Brian myself over the phone and was detailed and direct and informed him I was going to call the Better Business Bureau and he said " we apologize for the inconvenience and your wife will have her refund for her in 5 to 10 business days " it's horrible how two people in this business are allowed to give an ill person the run around and as for me as a public servant who works as a fire fighter and taking care of 6 kids and a my wife recovering from cancer has to deal with these cold unprofessional individuals. I don't understand what they are gaining from this??? Are they trying to save a buck to keep their membership quota up for corporate??? I do not recommend this gym. Been dealing with this situation since October 2017.

Clean environment is important. Any place can have weights and people can adjust their workouts for not all of us are pros. I feel sad, specially for women for a lot of them dont wash their hands and leave after they're done with their workout. Update: PEOPLE GETTING RASHES EVERY WHERE!

Itβs a great gym for the price and usually not too crowded. I like that I can bring a guest and use the tanning booths. The only thing I do not like about this gym is the hours, it would be great if it were open later on Fridays and weekends

All of the employees are very nice and helpful. It gets a bit hot in the summer with everyone working out, itβs like they donβt use the AC all the time. Itβd be nice if they had a water fountain that has cold water instead of warm. They removed the hip ab/adductor machine that they used to have. This machine was the only one specifically used for that area of the body. Now you have to wait for one of the cable pulls to be available to work that area. It just took away the convenience of it. You canβt really beat the price but with everyone paying their monthly payments, I think these issues have simple fixes that wouldnβt be detrimental to the company.

The equipment in the gym in general is ok,we could use a couple more rubber cable handles & more barbell clamps.However they need to pay more atteintion to the men's dressing room:there's a light that doesn't work in the shower for about 3 weeks already.also they are supposed to check the lockers every night & remove unattended locks but there are at least 2 lockers I've seen, one with a lock on it & one with some sweetpants sitting there for more than 3 weeks.I pointed that out to the manager last week,he said he would take care of it but he hasn't done a thing so far.so we can't make use of those lockers because they just won't empty them.

Nice gym but the stuff lies wanted to close my account asked a coworker in person how to do it she gave me a peace of paper with a email and said text them saying you want to close it and I end up getting charged 40$ next month for nothing went back in and another coworker said no you have to fill it out in person. Lost 40$ highly wouldn't recommend to anyone at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ive been a member almost a year now and im really disapointed with this gym, the manager Daniel is so rude, when I went in there to talk to him I apperantly didnt come in on the right time because he was SO busy behind his computer, he has me talk to a regular employee, where nothing was done for me, couldnt get my refund that was rightfully owed to me. I wouldnt reccommend this gym to anyone. Go to CHUZE they have way more to offer for the SAME price.
