I did not know that this place was different from the other Crunch locations. When I walked in, I scanned my barcode and immediately, a tall woman with red/brown hair in a ponytail on the phone, started to hit another worker who was talking to someone on the arm aggressively. She interrupted the conversation the other worker was having and he told me to standby. I waited for him to finish his conversation while the tall woman smiling like a school girl who just got someone in trouble was holding the phone not saying anything. My coworker scanned her barcode and was told to standby as well. The other worker politely informed us that unfortunately our membership does not work here and we would need to upgrade in order to use the facility. I did not know what was different about this place and the woman aggressively hitting her coworker made me uncomfortable. Both of the workers did not attempt to up-sale. I responded with a no because their sale pitch was to awkwardly stare at us as if we understood why we should upgrade. The customer service and atmosphere was not welcoming. The only reason I went was because it was close to my job.

The gym is great. Two big issues.
The staff do NOT greet you when you enter or leave. It's not a big deal but a simple smile would be nice.
Second and the most important. TURN the MUSIC DOWN! Even with noise cancelling headphones you can still hear the terrible music blasting. This is not a night club it's a gym. Some people enjoy working out in a quite area. the entire gym is filled with the loud obnoxious music, and it gets worse in the areas with lower ceilings.

I have a Peak Results Crunch membership, which states that it grants me access to all services in all Crunch locations. But apparently the West Hills locations is a special one 🤔 😏 🙄 🤷‍♀️, so to go there I must upgrade my membership 🤷‍♀️ for twice the cost. Not worth for 1 yoga class once a week, let alone the fact that it is a scam they are pulling. I don't know why Crunch allows this kind of things.

Went to this gym for a few months and one thing I can definitely say is it’s not upto the standards. I had taken the membership for all amenities but mostly water tap was out or shower and restrooms were never clean. A lot of lockers were always occupied and left locked the whole time whenever you go making it inaccessible. Additionally, when the repairs were happening no emails were sent to members or if the facility was shut down nothing was mentioned. I paid the membership for Athletic Society but when it went under crunch fitness and they never changed my membership amount which was actually lower. I would not recommend this gym if you are looking for a good gym in the valley

I’ve been a member at this Crunch location for about three years now, and one of the best parts of my early morning workouts is being greeted by Kylie at the front desk. She is always so fun, friendly, and welcoming—we even have a tradition of saying, “Hi Bestie!” every morning. At 5 a.m., it’s such a boost to see her smiling face and positive energy. She’s also super competent and makes everything at the front desk run smoothly. Kylie really sets the tone for a great gym experience, and Crunch is lucky to have her!

I’ve been attending this gym for many years and have stayed because it’s one of the few locations in the valley where you don’t have to wait around to use equipment or dumbbells. It’s a large gym, with plenty of space to get in a great workout.

Customer service is something I highly value, and Kevin + Braxton have always stood out to me because they go above and beyond to ensure your experience at the gym is the best it can be.

Kevin is an exceptional trainer, who knows how to push you to the next level. It’s obvious he practices what he preaches which is what makes him one of the BEST trainers. If you’re looking to hire a trainer, he is the person I recommend because he will take your results beyond what you’ve imagined. He also can accommodate all fitness levels, and takes care of his clients.

Braxton always has a smile on his face, and in my opinion is the face of crunch. No matter what time you go, you’ll most likely run into him and if you ever need anything he will go out of his way to take care of you. What stands out the most is the way he always takes care of the elderly that attend the gym. Very rare to see, and stands out as offering exceptional customer service and going above the call of duty !!!

Highly recommend, but we all know that the staff can make or break a gym and these two are for sure rock stars at crunch !!! Go Kevin + Braxton 🙌🏻

I got the higher membership but they failed to tell me that they were closing the pool and the locker rooms in a month. So I still have to pay the highest membership fee even though I can’t use the pool or the locker rooms. They don’t know when the remodeling will be done either. Machines are old and I shouldn’t have gotten the personal trainer either.
Since then, today the manager Andy reached out to me and we had a conversation at the gym today. He resolved my issues and as an apology gave me an accommodation. This is a good sign of good management. I’m happy they do care about their members. Thank you Andy.

Pool is shared with the swim training company. There are certain hours that you cannot even go. There. There's always a health department. There checking the water for the pool. They don't care if people paid are ready to use the pool facility.
No matter what you say they won't clean up or they don't pay attention, they'd come up with an excuse. Now it's close for 2 months, because they have to renovate the locker rooms but has nothing to do with the pool. But they don't allow you to go there it sucks, and they tell you to go somewhere else, which is twenty five minutes away from this facility

Do not give Crunch Select Canoga Park your payment info. They will steal from you.

For four months they charged me $65 every month for a membership that was only $54. When I asked why, management was rude, dismissive, and told me flat out: "you're not getting any money back." They refused to fix the overcharges.

I fought them through my bank and won every chargeback. On May 12, 2025 my membership was officially cancelled, after trying to get it cancelled for weeks!!! That should have been the end.

Instead, almost SIX MONTHS later, Crunch randomly charged me $260, ignored my email and phone call, and then charged me another $65 the very next day.

This is not a mistake. This is fraud. If they will come after me months after cancelling, they will come after you too. Stay far away from this place!!!

Scummy gym that refuses to cancel your membership. They charge over $100 as a random renewal fee annually. After you cancel your membership they refuse to follow California law when it comes to memberships and expect you to give over a month's notice before cancelation of a membership. This is a gym membership not a damn apartment. I suggest to go down the street next to target and get a gym membership for half the cost and a quarter of the troubles. EDIT: This gym is going downhill fast, now they do not offer tissues, hand sanitizers to wipe the equipment or plastic bags as before. Before you know it we would have to bring our own toile papers and paper towels!

Disappointing Experience at Crunch Fitness West Hills.
1st I acknowledge that it’s not easy to deal with public, however, there is something to be said about customer service or lack there of. At my job I offer customer service so when go to a gym I figure it’s my turn to receive.
I've been a loyal member for over 5 years.
3 weeks ago, I asked the front desk manager named Gavin to turn on the massage chair after my workout, where her informed me that with my membership that was with Athletic Society does not cover the massage chair. Going back and forth they finally corrected the issue after 2 weeks. As it turns out they had down graded all Athletic Society contracts to charge member more! Today I went to use towel service and I see a sign that now this service is for higher level members!
It appears that the management does not understand the concept of customer service and why individuals go to the gym. I go to the gym to get away from drama, not to walk into instability and drama created by the gym.
Let’s talk about the ongoing construction, dust and destruction of hardwood floor. The contractors don’t use reverse vacuum so that the members can workout without inhaling dust!
You would think that with all that is going on with this gym the new management would want to accommodate the long term members who are sticking it out with them during the construction be nicer. I wonder if the management realizes that within the 1 mile radius there are over 1/2 gyms that are not dusty or outdated.
I think with the current conditions I would not want to renew and if I was a new member I would not expose my health to this dust!

So I switched over to this gym today from a different crunch location and first of all two staff members that helped me out this morning were awesome, Very helpful showed me around and made me feel comfortable and at home. Not only is there different rooms for a different workouts, but they also have a variety of different machines, weights, benches, and cooldown areas. I would highly recommend this place because the staff is amazing and the facility is so huge where you don’t have to wait for long periods at a time. For me being a first timer in a gym setting crunch definitely made me feel welcomed.

They are thieves. I cancelled my membership with them 8/2024 at that time it was Athletic Society. When they changed to Crunch they started to charge me again $79 a month. I didn’t realize until recently. When I called them to ask them why and for them to reverse the charges I was basically told “it is what is it is” by Andy Maravilla, which is the manager and they’ll be no refunds. So basically they charging my card without my permission and I haven’t even stepped foot in that place.

I really was glad they finally have a Crunch location near me. The one in Chatsworth is a little out of my ways especially since I enjoy going to gym after work and don’t want to deal with more traffic. I came in last night and was really pleased with the customer service provided by Sam in the front desk. He explained well the plans and the difference in prices with this gym compared to the other crunch facilities. I was just stopping by to check it out, but will be returning to change my membership and make this my new Crunch home gym as it is conveniently closer and also just by how well I was treated by Sam and how big this gym looks. I work out here just about every day and I love it . They have pretty much any kind of workout equipment you can imagine plus heavy bags , a heated pool , racquetball , basketball , tanning beds , red light therapy , hydro massage chairs , their own little cafe , locker rooms with showers and a sweat room in them . My only complaint is that I find that alot of people bring their phones into the gym and just sit on the equipment using their phone more then they actually work out . I find that irritating because I like to use multiple machines when I work out and waiting for someone that isn't even working out to get off a machine is stupid in my opinion . For that reason they get 4 instead of 5 stars so Crunch if you're reading this I wish you would do so something about that . In a perfect world cell phones wouldn't be allowed in the gym so people would stay focused on why they're there in the first place .

With the new management crunch gym, big difference there’s people actually walking around on the floor, cleaning and disinfecting weight equipment and doing their job. The staff is more helpful. They just need to get around to the men’s restrooms on the first floor. It’s been like that since 1993 when it was racquetball world. Bathrooms need upgrading beside that. So I have a bit to say:

Came here with my Peak membership for my second time and got rejected due to access apparently being only for SELECT MEMBERS. Don't plan on attending this "new" location unless you plan on signing up for a more expensive pass. Needless to say, I had actually gone in previously at night for my first time at this location to workout without anyone saying anything and the current condition of the place is not worth the added price considering they probably won't be done remodeling until years later. I'll admit I was in awe in what a time capsule this place is and it has potential but I know it isn't worth paying more for this place when it's a bit of a wreck + not at full potential, then it'll just probably be redone and be a basic CRUNCH labirinth considered to be "special". I saw signs posted up that night stating that meanwhile there is renovation, we crunch members should have access but yet got denied stating we had to sign up for SELECT without any specific or direct information regarding the location, prices, benefits, or difference from SELECT and Regular CRUNCH Fitness :(

Hoping this place keeps the amazing older and unique design so it won't be basic, (then maybe I'll pay up) but then again it'll probably be the regular black, grey, and purple ombre colored walls.

My son is a crunch member and they just opened this location near our home so he decided to walk 2 miles in 80° weather only for the gym to deny him because now they’re consider themselves crunch plus an upgraded gym. So we called to see if they can honor a one day pass since he was already there and Andy tried selling us a pass for $25 saying “thats the best I can do” Gee thanks. Disappointing Experience at Crunch Fitness!

I've been a loyal member for 10 years, visiting 3 times a week. Unfortunately, the new management has really dropped the ball.

Today, I asked the front desk staff to turn on the massage chair after my workout. The guy completely ignored me! I waited and waited, but eventually, I had to leave. I don't have all day to waste.

The front desk staff seems completely uninterested in providing basic customer service. It's a shame, because I've always enjoyed my time at Crunch. The guy at the front desk seems lazy and unprofessional. Please fix this problem before it gets worse!

Loved this gym when I was in Cali!!! The staff was so kind and helpful and the crowd here is also super nice!!! It’s rare to go to a gym where I feel comfortable working out in the middle of the day, but this gym is it!!!

I love that there’s a Crunch here to go to when I’m visiting friends in the area! It takes me awhile to get comfortable with a new place to work out because I feel self-conscious, but I immediately felt welcome when I walked in the door! Love it here!
