Cue the Core: Pilates and Wellness in San Rafael, CA, is an athletic contemporary Pilates and Mindful Wellness studio offering Reformer Pilates, Pilates Chair, Tower, Barre, FitSprings, Jumpboard, Mat, and multi-apparatus classes for all levels. We welcome every body type and ability. Our group classes and private sessions focus on core conditioning, improving flexibility, posture, and strength through low-impact, mind-body workouts. We’re one of just 14 studios worldwide to offer innovative FitSprings spring-based resistance training. Join us for Pilates retreats, pop-up classes, and wellness workshops. Located in downtown San Rafael with free parking, welcoming Marin County clients seeking strength and balanced living.

I am a beginner and have anxiety and never once did I feel out of place or that I was being ignored for not knowing what I was doing. I joined Cue The Core one year ago, and it has truly been life-changing. For the first time in my life, I’ve been able to maintain a consistent workout routine—and I can honestly say I’m addicted! The instructors, Wendy, Karen, Genevieve, and Deborah, are incredibly supportive, fun, encouraging, and their energy makes every class something I look forward to. Not to mention, their equipment is top of the line!
I am now currently 3 months pregnant, and throughout my pregnancy, they have gone above and beyond to help me continue my practice safely. They always offer thoughtful modifications that keep me active, strong, and confident while making sure my body stays healthy and I never over do it. I’m so grateful for their professionalism, knowledge, kindness, and genuine care.

Before I found Cue the Core and Wendy and Karen, I had never done reformer Pilates before. I looked around Marin for a place for newbie’s. From my first private with Wendy, I knew I had found a new exercise practice I really liked and a very welcoming and comfortable place to do it. Wendy and Karen are quite amazing small business owners whose enthusiasm for really helping their clients makes every class fun, inspiring and effective. They are careful to make sure each person performs the moves correctly yet keeping in mind any injuries or weaknesses they may have. You are seen and you are heard and you are helped. My body feels so much better and as a bonus, my mind and heart do too!

Ok I’m now three plus months into practicing Pilates at Cue the Core for the first time. And I can’t be more happy and energized with my practice. I started with a few private classes with Wendy to get the routines down. She was super patient with me, as I was a little uncoordinated with some of the exercises. I’m feeling very comfortable going to classes now. Karen’s classes are fun and her energy makes the 50 minute class go by quickly. Deborah’s classes are hard, but in a good way. She really knows how to get the most out of every class. I appreciate her attention to detail and when she checks in with me when I don’t understand an exercise.
There are lots of studios in Marin, I’ve tried a few, but Cue the Core really is a great fit. I look forward to all my classes each week.

I happened upon Cue the Core when researching Pilates studios to visit during my recent trip home from the Big Apple. And, when I say RESEARCH, I mean, not all Pilates studios are equal! Google finds them for me - East Bay, North Bay, San Francisco, all IN...and then I read ALL ABOUT IT. I am a certified Pilates and Alexander Technique teacher; I consider Karen to be one of those Pilates teachers for Pilates teachers. However, she also happens to be the best kind of cheerleader for all of us lovers of moving small so they can move BIG! Got to experience one of her Pilates fusion classes, complete with jump board. Her cuing is clear...her progressions from simple to more advanced and dynamic movement was paced with consideration for the mix of clients who showed up that morning. Lucky for me, the location is just a few miles from home base when I'm visiting the Bay. I will be back for more classes!

Pilates for life!! You will understand that sentiment if you try this studio! Pilates offer low impact exercise to get you moving and put you in touch with your body. Karen and Wendy helped me get my body and mindset in shape to hike 100 miles on the Camino Santiago this summer.
