Do not go here. The safety of a gym is almost solely dependent on the cleanliness of the gym. I have been exercising for about 10yrs and I have never come across a gym as consistently FILTHY as this gym is. Unfortunately I can not post pictures here but I will be on yelp. The mats are disgusting. Go ahead and lay on one of those if you’re cool with ringworm, hand/foot/mouth, or mrsa LOL Every single time, EVERY TIME, I have sprayed and wiped a mat here they paper towel turns brown/black with dirt. I literally have a picture in my phone of some mysterious pile of dirt on the floor. Never ONCE in the 8 months that I have gone here have I EVER seen staff walking around cleaning. Not once. The staff is busy, not at the front desk, but off to the side texting on their phones or hanging out. One time I asked a girl behind the desk for help and she said “Oh I don’t work here I’m waiting for my friend” WHAT 😂?!?! The paper towel machines are either broken or empty at basically all times. Not to mention the damaged or broken machines. I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY MEMBERSHIP. AVOID AVOID AVOID THIS GYM for your own health and safety.

I have had such a great experience working out at this gym! The staff are extremely friendly and make me feel welcome each and every time I arrive for my workout. I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the handling of my membership cancellation and the lack of professional communication I have experienced at Curl Fitness Yorba Linda.

My membership, which was frozen due to medical reasons, was scheduled to expire on August 29, 2025. Despite multiple email attempts to clarify the status of my account, I received no response. When I followed up by phone, I was met with a dismissive and unprofessional attitude from the manager, Phil, who issued a $99 charge for an alleged contract violation without prior explanation.

A subsequent call yielded conflicting information from another staff member, who informed me that my membership could remain frozen until December for a $49 fee, with the option to cancel thereafter. This inconsistency, combined with the lack of transparency and courteous communication, has led me to question the integrity and professionalism of your staff.

I am deeply frustrated by the misleading information and the absence of reliable customer support.

This location is in a super nice area with lots of parking. Staff is always available when you need help and throughly explains things. The amenities they offer are super nice such as red light therapy which is super good for your skin. There’s a variety of equipment to use and if you’re unsure how to properly use/adjust equipment, staff is more than willing to help out with that.

Love this gym. It’s always clean and the front desk employees are there to answer any questions about equipment usage as well as account information. This is my neighborhood gym and it’s been fantastic. The weight area is kept clean and machines well maintained. My very favorite aspect is the expertise of my trainer Jason! I have significant back problems and he has the knowledge to build me a program that works around my limitations. Training with him has built my strength and physique beyond my wildest dreams. I signed a membership under the fitness 19 franchise for my daughter and myself. At the time she was under 18. This membership was primarily for her. I stop going to the gym at this location back in 2021 primarily because they stayed open during Covid closures and it got so busy it was always crowded during reasonable hours. I kept paying dues since I thought my daughter was going to that gym since she doesn’t drive. Recently I found out that she didn’t go to the gym because a female employee there told her that she did not have a valid membership and she would have contact fitness 19. When I called today an employee named Dylan or Dillon, told me that he found me but my daughter was not in their computer and I should contact Fitness 19. I told him that fitness 19 was not taking the money from my account but Curl Fitness was taking the funds. I asked for a callback from the manager. This was at 9:30am. At 9;45am, I received a call from Phillip Lancaster, he identified himself as the location manager. I explained my situation and he explained what happened to the transition from fitness 19 to Curl Fitness. I explained that I expected my daughters membership dues refunded from the time transition took place to now. Since both the original associate and the associate I spoke to today were unable to find my daughter in the computer. He as a manager is responsible to train his employees correctly. Neither employer said let’s see what we can do and we’ll call you back. They both put it on fitness 19. I asked to speak to Phillips boss and he replied that he was the manager of the franchise . I then ask to speak to the owner and he flat out said no. I then asked for a callback from the owner and he also said no. He did cancel my membership for myself and my daughter but made it sound like he was doing me a favor. The reason I gave this a one star was because that was the lowest I could give.

I joined this gym when they first opened and was very impressed with the options and friendly staff. They were a convenient stop before or after work and the showers were new and clean. As time wore on, things started to be less clean, although the staff remained friendly. I have moved away from the area and ended up cancelling my membership since it's no longer convenient to stop in. They let me know that I would have one more months payment charged before the cancellation would take effect, which I was fine with. What I was not fine with is the extra amount charged for the "annual" fee for a year that I will not be using the gym for, and after I had already cancelled a month ago. I talked with Phil and he was not helpful.

Initially I started coming to this gym because it was so close to my house and was convenient. The facility itself is nice and the equipment is on the newer side. It's unfortunate that the upkeep is not there. Machines are dirty, facilities are not kept up regularly. The red light and tanning bed are not sanitized regularly. I moved out of the area and had to cancel my subscription and was billed a processing fee. A fee to cancel on a month to month membership? That's ridiculous! Beware of hidden fees with this place. Not worth it.

I just recently join this gym it’s ok for a quick workout. I been now going here 3 days but the place grosses me out now you never see nobody wiping down the equipment after they use it. And nobody walks in with any towel treadmill s look gross. I recently encountered a deeply disheartening situation at Curl Fitness Yorba Linda that has compelled me to share my concerns. Over the past few months, I found myself the target of persistent harassment by an older man at the gym, leading me to file a formal complaint with the Yorba Linda police department. Seeking support, I turned to the gym management, only to be met with what felt like an attempt to sweep the issue under the rug.

In response to my complaint, the manager offered me two months of free membership, seemingly to hush the matter. This gesture failed to address the gravity of the situation and left me questioning the gym's commitment to creating a safe environment for its members.

Taking matters into my own hands, I requested a meeting involving the harasser and the gym management, hoping to confront the issue head-on. Shockingly, the gym management outright refused to participate, demonstrating a shocking disregard for resolving a severe harassment concern and fostering a safe space for women at the gym.

The manager's handling of this sexual harassment situation was not only disappointing but downright disgusting. Any fitness facility must prioritize the safety and well-being of its members, especially when confronted with such serious matters. In sharing this story, I hope to raise awareness and encourage others to be vigilant about their safety in gym environments. No one should have to endure harassment, and gym management must take swift and decisive action to address and prevent such incidents in the future.

It was Fitness 19 before, and I even didn’t notice it has been changed to Curl Fitness.
I have been a member here long time already.
I like going here in the morning. It’s very clean, and all machines are new types. Very good environment.
But they don’t have too many classes, such as Zumba Classes, less than other gyms. Even, sometimes the classes are just canceled.
I used to be here for cycling classes, however, no body showed up. It happened more than 3 times.
So I have to go to another gym for cycling.

My favorite place to workout! it is always so clean & tidy & the staff is super friendly as soon as I walk in. Everyone who workouts there is super nice & easy to talk to. There are a lot of machines & cardio equipment so I never have to wait for anything. Hey if you know what Fitness19 is about then there are no surprises here.
The Yorba Linda location is just as crazy affordable as any other location. Its also the biggest, beefiest, most modern Fitness 19 available. Exceptionally friendly staff, treadmills, ellipticals, starimasters, bikes, etc if that's your vibe. And of course they have squat racks and strength training equipment if you really wanna get something done.
It's like your other local gyms, except instead of having a swimming pool and a sauna, its like 70% cheaper (idk you do they math).

I signed up for this gym before it had even opened at the top (elite / premium) level and have maintained membership payments ever since. I stopped going to the gym when COVID hit, but continued to pay faithfully each month in an effort to support a local business. Today I visited the location and asked to have my membership reduced to the basic tier going forward. They said I would need to pay a $99 "initiation" fee to drop to the lower level. I asked to speak to Phil, the owner/franchisee, who had signed me up originally back in 2019. He refused to waive the fee, offering only to drop the initiation fee to $49. Why would I pay an initiation fee for a gym I've been a member of for over two years? This place is ridiculous with horrible business practices. With many other options in the area, it was an easy decision to cancel and never look back. There are enough other reviews citing similar issues to make anyone with common sense to think twice. If you are considering this place, based on my experience and other reviews, I would recommend finding another gym to join.

Really like this gym, i mean $15 a month? Sweet. Only downside to going here is it gets pretty busy and you have to work around getting your workout in depending on the machines that are occupied. Also i wish they were open until 10pm on weekends kinda sad about that since I dont have time to come in until later when they are closed

I've been going here for about two years now. My main complaints would be that the weights are not well organized. The dumbbell rack is fine, but the plates are scattered. 5 pound plates are the hardest to find. The lights will noticeably dim from time to time. It's kinda weird the first time you see it happen. This place also attracts a lot of high school kids. I don't know if that's really a complaint or just something to note. Besides that, it is of decent size with a good variety of exercise equipment. Bathrooms/Lockers are clean.

I LOVE working out at this gym! I live close by which is super nice since I can jog to the gym and do some other workout. Everything is super clean and all the machines are still new. I really like the Hydro-Massage bed, on certain days I would just come in and use the bed. Super helpful and friendly staff.

I come here every day and don’t plan on ever cancelling my membership. Everyone is so nice. Everything is properly cleaned. For the most part it’s never packed and the staff do a great job in making sure everyone is cleaning and keeping their mask on.

Gym has been a great environment. Staff is great and extremely helpful from the first day onward. Only gym I could find over the last six months that stayed open during Covid and kept everything clean and cared about their members safety. I love this gym and the staff! The hydro massage is perfect for after my workout to relax my muscles and I use the tanning bed religiously since summer is coming up. I’d give this gym 10 starts if I could!

I switched to here temporarily when 24 hours fitness (where I’ve been a member for over 30 years) closed because of covid. I was not only happy to find an open gym, but they are respectful of everyone’s choice whether or not to wear a mask! The facility is kept nice and even offers a kids club. I was only paying $10/mo at 24 and was planning to return when they opened, but now that they have, they are still requiring masks, and from what I hear, they are not on stable financial ground, so I’ve decided to quit 24 and stay here. They are closer to my home and most of my friends from 24 have also moved to fitness 19 too! It’s a nice, new facility with lots of work out options. Plus they offered me a great deal so I couldn’t resist.

Way too many people loitering around and not using the equipment. Requested to cancel three memberships and still been billed now going on three months since our request. No customer service. There is a FITNESS19 where we moved but NO WAY signing up with them after this experience.

Been a member since it first opened. Fairly new gym and better than your typical 24 or LA fitness. Has everything you need - 3 benches, 4 squat racks, huge free wright section, all of your cable, plate loaded, strength stack, and cardio machines you ever need. Doesn't get as crowded compared to other gyms. Price is comparable and I think even comes out a bit cheaper on a per month cost compared to a 24 hour costco pass (or close to it but I don't mind paying the difference). Also, shoutout to Andrew for signing me up.

I was charged for a yearly renewal fee and am additional month of membership even though they were closed due to COVID and they’ve promised me they’d refund my account however they still haven’t and it’s been over a month now. I have a new baby and both my husband and I are furloughed so this $70 really matters. What’s most frustrating is there’s been no reply back from the owner who was in communication with me back in June but stopped responding. I won’t ever do business there again.
