My 3yr daughter has sensory issues and this was NOT the studio for her. Her hair fell out of her bun half way through the class and the teacher wouldn’t let her participate with the other students until my daughter put her hair back up. She was having a really hard time with her hair up in the first place and wouldn’t let me put it up in a bun again, especially once the teacher had singled her out and shamed her in front of the class. She started to cry and the teacher tried to put her in a corner. At this point she tried to put my daughter in the corner. I quietly intervened and kindly brought my daughter out of the classroom: 10 minutes from the end of the class. We both left the studio in tears feeling incredibly unwelcome and hurt.

This dance studio is amazing. The teachers are so patient and kind. My daughter loves to dance here, and even my son asked to join, and he loves to dance here as well. I plan to keep bringing my children as long as they wish to dance. Carrie is wonderful and all the dancers are awesome and helpful.

Cozy and humble dance studio. Walking inside to a miniature fireplace and a carpeted entrance. The studio director/ owner is communicative, approachable and is a compassionate leader. This studio is what the dance community in Humboldt needs. Schedule has a wide range of dance styles. A supportive and passionate dance community providing opportunities to grow.

My daughter loves going to ballet. The instructor is very patient with the kids. The studio is a classic remodeled Victorian. Very friendly atmosphere. Absolutely recommend it. Not just for ballet, but Tap, and Creative dance.

This studio is nurturing and the director and instructors are amazing. My daughter took classes here for years and loved it. She grew as a dancer and learned how to be part of an excellent dance company. The technique and skill taught at this studio is top notch! As a parent of a pre-professional dancer who danced for 10+ years I highly recommend the Dance Scene!

This place is MOLDY!!!!!!!!!! We were made sick by this environment, so we chose Trillium in Arcata.

On our first day there was one woman who was willing to work with us and allowed us to check out what was going on in the beginner class. Ultimately Our decision to look elsewhere was because they were very rude to us when it came to introducing our children to the class. The woman physically blocked me from hugging my daughter and then proceeded to shut the curtain in my face. They were unwilling to allow my three year old to stay with her sisters in the pre-ballet class even though she was the correct intelligence and age level. I'm so glad I didn't invest in the color coordinated outfits! I was in ballet for many years and understand rigidity, but customer service needs to be considered we would have been customers for years to come had they allowed us a day to warm up to them. Also the clothing shop smelled like mold and mildew, and the old house seemed colder then outside and completely lacked any heat source! Not appropriate for toddlers in the winter. I have four daughters and was planning to enroll all of them...
