I have had the best experience with Deep Blue Scuba.

My boyfriend and I took the Open Water certification with Jodie and assisted by Julian. They were both so, so helpful. Jodie's kindness and patience is unmatched. I've heard of centers just passing people that aren't truly competent in the skills being taught just to pass people. They are willing to take time one on one to make sure you really know the skills and are comfortable. I couldn't wait to take the Advanced Open Water Cert.

Due to an under-developed bottom jaw, pulling my jaw forward for long periods for a typical regulator would be pretty uncomfortable for me so I bought a full face mask. Full face masks are a skill in themselves so I enrolled in the Full Face Mask class. Jodie was my instructor, for which I was really thankful as she already knew my strengths and weaknesses.

*Note* If there's a class or certification you're interested in just let them know. They are happy to work with you and find some time that works for everyone.

I've registered for the Advanced Open Water now and can't wait to do that class.

I've referred a friend who did the Reactivate class to brush up on her skills (she was certified 30 yrs ago.) She loved it.

I've rented from them a few times and they're always super helpful and informative. Definitely excited to keep learning and diving more.

Not sure if Jackie is having a bad day but hope it gets better, as good customer service is still important for all businesses. 3 stars as the shop has basic needs for scuba but low stock. This is my first impression. Hopefully things get better.

I dropped into their shop before heading to Catalina. Just got my tanks back from hydro and needed a quick fill. They found a leak in my manifold and fixed it in minutes. Super polite and bright staff working there. The tech doing the repairs is very competent. Definitely saved my trip!

I did my open water dive training through Deep Blue.

I had my training with Eric. I have trained for a lot of things in my life, and Eric is one of the most gifted teachers I have ever worked with. He has a very special way of teaching and it made everything very easy and comfortable. I would highly recommend anyone looking for open water training to book with him.

After the pool sessions when we went out to do the open water dives I was very confident in my skills.

Also, the open water dive was amazing.

I am looking forward to doing my advanced dive training with Eric at Deep Blue soon.

Awesome experience with Deep Blue. I wanted to get my 10 yr old certified as a PADI open water diver for an upcoming vacation. Being a diver myself, but not having been diving for several years, I also wanted a refresher course. Jessie at Deep Blue set everything up and was super friendly and knowledgeable. Justin was the instructor for my 10 yr old and handled my refresher course. Justin was amazing as an instructor and his knowledge and experience far surpassed my instructor when I was certified more than a decade ago. The shop, staff and dive trips were all better than expected. I highly recommend Deep Blue and know that I will be referring others there for certification as well.

I started taking my son at 7 months old with the mommy and me classes. It’s a great introduction for the little ones and getting comfortable in the water. And the water is always warm for the parents which I loved because we continued Lessons all throughout winter time. My son is now 3 almost 4. I transitioned him into the private lessons at 2 and a half, and he can swim all on his own now due to deep blue. Our instructor is miss Erika, and we love her so much. Would highly recommend this swim school.

Great local dive shop in long beach. They really live what they believe and have underwater clean-up dives (with free rental of gear if you participate), group trips, classes etc. Everyone is very friendly and goes out of their way to make sure you are happy with what you're getting. They never try to sell you on stuff you don't need and will give their honest, experience-based opinions. Everyone dives and will be able to give you good advice.

My instructor (not-affiliated) who I trust with my life (literally) said these are the guys! They totally hooked it up for me with my gear. I got by BCD, wetsuit, regs, etc. (everything you need as a beginner diver trying to move up) at below-sale prices! Loved it!

Unquestionably the best experience with a scuba shop I have ever had! Customer service was beyond exceptional and the equipment and staff superb. They went out of their way to accommodate a large group from out of town and treated us like family. Their rates are very fair and they bend over backwards to help with every need. Deep Blue Scuba is an awesome dive shop! I received my Open Water certification there a few months ago with their scuba manager Matt. He was super friendly and always made sure we were comfortable in the water. Deep Blue is my favorite dive shop. They provide their customers with the best service, products, and expertise. What is most impressive about Deep Blue is that they give back to the community. They work to keep our oceans clean by participating in ocean clean up days. Deep Blue keeps the dive community together by hosting monthly dive meetings with guest speakers, food, and giveaways.

We love this place! The new owners have improved the dive shop and were keen enough to add swimming lessons for the little ones. My 3 year old son enjoys the water, teacher (Jaclyn), and the staff at this establishment. He's been attending the swim center since he was 6 months of age. The water temperature is warm and comfortable for kids of all ages to enjoy. The center is clean and very cheerful. The place is busy and active with new members joining quite frequently. The only draw back is parking and sometimes scheduling for make-ups. Although we relocated over 60 minutes away from Deep Blue, we still attend the class on weekends because of its method of teaching, the staff, the well maintained/clean facility, and the beautiful location.

I took my 4-year-old son here for an evaluation, and ended up signing him up for lessons. He was crying all morning before the lesson, saying he was afraid and needed his floaty. As soon as we arrived, his attitude changed. It's an indoor pool and quite warm, with an inviting atmosphere. The lessons are private but there are several lessons going on a time, which helps if your child tends to misbehave when alone. In the end, my son loved his lesson. He actually said, "this was the best swim lesson ever." Now he eagerly asks when his lessons will be instead of complaining and crying like he used to do.

I've been taking my son here for their Parent and Me swim classes since he was three months old. He's now 16 months and we have had several teachers since that time. Most teachers have been very good, but it can be a little hit and miss. The focus is more on water safety and familiarity than swimming per se, but I think that's appropriate for this age group. Overall I'd recommend it to other parents with babies.

Absolutely A+ Dive Shop & Swim School

Dive Shop: Total revamp and newly updated from the former ownership and this place delivers. Top of the line gear, friendly and knowledgeable staff, new fill station coming for NITROX and O2 fills. I've recently re-geared and they've been amazing on any returns. They're growing and getting in new stuff all the time.

Swim School: My daughter has been in Swim School for over a year now with Malia and you cannot find better anywhere. FYI: Makeup's have been no problem at all. Ozone filtration based water system, not chlorine and water temp is 92 degrees. Kids love it. If you have any doubt, stop in, check out the instructors working and ask the families there....you'll get raging reviews!

I got my Open Water cert back in May 2012 because I was vacationing in Hawaii and wanted to dive. My instructor at the time was Lindsay. She was great! Very patient, encouraging and fun. I liked my experience so much that, when I got back from Hawaii, I decided to go for my Advanced cert. Matt was my instructor, and he was equally great. (Matt's legit. He knows his stuff.)

Everyone at the shop is wonderful. C.j., Jonathan (the owner), Lisa... they are all so welcoming and passionate about scuba. And I especially like how Deep Blue strives to create a tight-knit community of divers. They hold monthly dive meetings and work closely with local dive groups.

And because of all that, I've been able to meet really cool people within the dive community. I can honestly say that I've made some great new friends from my association with Deep Blue.

Scuba diving can be an expensive sport. And I am the type who wouldn't feel comfortable shelling out the cash if I didn't feel like I wasn't getting something valuable in return. Deep Blue's service is top notch. The people really know what they're talking about, and I can easily get one-on-one face time if I need it.

Honestly, I could ramble on and on. In a nutshell, Deep Blue is awesome. :)

I had been wanting to become a certified diver for years. I'm so glad I finally went for it at Pacific Sporting Goods. The instuctors were super knowledgeabe and very patient. I also got a good deal on a new scuba package!
