From absolute beginners to seasoned athletes, there’s a place for you at Diablo CrossFit. I’ve been a member for 2 ½ years, and beyond my physical fitness improving, I’ve made real friendships. There is something different about doing hard things together, and it brings you closer to people. The sense of accomplishment and mental health boost that comes with doing hard things cannot be understated. The coaching staff is top-notch – they care for you not only as an athlete but as a human being. They genuinely want you to be healthy. The owners are invested in this place, present every day, and committed to helping you succeed. If you are looking to improve your physical and mental health, and make some new friends, Diablo CrossFit is the place to be. Do not worry about your current fitness level – you do not need to be fit to start CrossFit. The hardest part is walking through the door the first time – but there will be a welcoming face and life-changing transformation on the other side. If you’re ready to challenge yourself, build resilience, and find a supportive community, Diablo CrossFit will meet you where you are and take you further than you imagined.

I’ve been doing Crossfit on and off for 13 years, and I’ve been a member of SEVEN different boxes and this gym is one of the BEST! Passionate, knowledgeable coaches, that care about the athletes and the methodology. Many class hours and varied programming, a great store, the list goes on. All ages, weights, and experience levels are present and supported here. I’ve been a member for over a year and I can see why people stick around. A wonderful community, truly.

If anyone is looking to feel better, both mentally and physically, Diablo Crossfit is the place. Dont let the name fool you. More than a gym, it's a community. Great coaches and owners. Will literally give you the shirt of their back to help you improve. Im 51 yrs old and have a lot of miles on these tired legs but have found the fountain of youth. I feel like I'm 30 again. The way the coaches can build you up from nothing to improving the most gifted athletes. They take the time to find out who you are and what your goals are and build a great foundation that will carry you into the future.
Give them a try. I did and will never look back.

Joining Diablo Crossfit was one of the best fitness decisions I've made! The community is incredible—everyone is super encouraging, and it feels like a second home. The coaches here are amazing; they really focus on form and provide modifications for all levels, so I always feel safe. The workouts are intense but varied, keeping things interesting and pushing me every time I go. Plus, the facility is always clean, and there's plenty of equipment. Since joining, I’ve noticed real improvements in my strength and endurance. Pricing is reasonable for what they offer, and it's totally worth it!" 5am is the best time to come 😉

Wow. It's only my second time dropping in and there aren't any words to quite capture how phenomenal this place is. Everything is top-tier quality, from the equipment to the coaching. Their programming is also clearly designed to get results. The community was also very supportive and made me feel welcome. I definitely recommend anyone who may be on the fence to check it out.

Excellent CrossFit box with outstanding coaches, owners, and fellow athletes! Being new to the Bay Area, this box welcomes you from day one and makes you feel like part of a big family. I’m a travel physical therapist and greatly appreciated their detail to warmups, modifications, and Rx standards! Thanks for making my 3 months in SF fun & keeping my fitness a priority! I’ll definitely be back.

I decided to explore CrossFit and this was the closest location to my house and what a pleasant surprise it’s the best gym in my opinion. The space is amazing. The coaches are all really nice and knowledgeable. The members are so friendly. All the programs are good. As first timer getting into CrossFit I was a little intimidated but this place made me feel right at home! Highly recommended to anyone feel tired and uninspired at their regular gyms.

I'll start by saying, Diablo CrossFit has an Amazing community. And Amazing communities stem from strong leadership, solid values, and a positve culture that attracts great people. It's easy to see Diablo has all of these and so much more!
The programming is on point, the coaches are the best and the facilty is fully loaded with all the right equipment, classes/clinics etc. to build whatever you're working toward... strength, skills and endurance, all of the above... or maybe just confidence... you'll find the best tools and talent here.
I love going to DCF. I love being surrounded by friends who hold themselves and eachother accountable, who support one another in wherever they are in their health journey and who constantly motivate and celebrate eachother for being better versions of themselves everyday.
Endless kudos, much respect and many thanks to Craig and Yvonne (owners/leaders) for creating this special place and fit community. Truly an unmatched and life enhancing experience.

I've never written a review before online: good, bad or ugly. I'm new to CF. If it weren't for the pandemic restrictions, I may never have found this place. I joined a year ago simply because I wanted to workout, keep fitness legal, and support a small business owner willing to fight for freedom. Needless to say, I got so much more than I expected. Great facility, great people/community, and great programming. This place offers so much more than I could achieve on my own: a solid warm up, focus on mobility, executing complex movements correctly, and a positive and competitive environment. This gym humbles me routinely, but I continue to progress and my overall physical health is more well-rounded. My primary form of exercise was rock climbing for over a decade. CF is a total body workout that provides a great base for all the other physical activities I enjoy. Look no further. All you have to do is show up and do hard things.

BEST GYM IN THE BAY AREA! I was always skeptical of CrossFit community. I always said "I don't wanna lift heavy I'm gonna look bulky! I don't wanna flip tire and climb ropes - crazy no way I refuse to be part of this cult!" Then my whole perception changed. My boyfriend, fiancé now asked me to sign up for a month and really give it my best. He has been part of Diablo family for 10 + years and he always rave about the gym so I said why not?
Deal was if I hate it I can go back to my tradition gym workouts and do my own thing. First class we took was pretty challenging (power cleans & toes to bar) but coach Corey helped me by scaling the workout & helped with techniques . It's little daunting when you are trying something new but ALL Diablo coach are amazing at they do and they helped me through each class. I think by day 3 I was hooked. Okay maybe even day 1. I found myself wanting to get better and stronger. I found inner peace and balance by not focusing on physically appearance but to focus on strength, mobility, and improving my overall health/fitness goals. I often find myself pushing myself to do better since I'm competitive by nature. Also everyone encourage others to finish strong and I love the community aspect vs working out alone now.
So if you are hesitant and wanting to try something new, give Diablo a try! You will not regret it!

Don’t know where to begin in spreading the word about this place. I joined to save my life many many years ago after a ride in an ambulance. Stress got control of me and I didn’t know how to release it. They taught me the right way to do it and at the age of 40 something I learned many new things. Fast forward several years later and now in early 50’s, I’m so much better than I was in my mid 30’s. And surprise surprise my kids are now, and for a few years now, heavily involved and running circles around me (but ya I’m chasing them). They have developed the best of habits to last a lifetime around physical fitness and will hopefully never have to deal with the issues before I started at Diablo. Come join the family, you not be sorry!!!

Everyone is welcoming and you’ll find people from all walks of life coming together to get and stay fit. The ownership is top notch. The community culture is second to none. The coaching is spot on. Nothing is left to chance. I was very new to CrossFit when I joined Diablo and have made tremendous strides in my overall health, losing 30 pounds and getting fit along the way. Thank you Diablo! Between the coaching knowledge and individual care in a group environment, and the progressive programming, and the inclusive community, I'm stronger and healthier than I've ever been. I've been working out for many many years and in many disciplines, and Diablo CrossFit has taken me from where I was and made me better. The big picture and the small details are taken care of.
- most of the coaches make group classes feel like many individual lessons at the same time
- the programming build on itself then varies throughout the week, month, and year. This is unique to DCF within the CrossFit environment, and was a huge draw for me at the beginning. It sticks on a skill long enough to get better at it before moving to something else
- the community is supportive and also competitive - it's a nice balance.
Also! There are showers and towels. ❤️

It can change your life! No, I am not kidding, it's done a world of wonder for me and so many others. Craig and Yvonne (yes this is the type of place where you will get to know the owners) have built a safe place that allows elite athletes, and avg people, and anyone wanting to make a change in life, "Fit In" and have fun working out together. This is the best CrossFit gym I have ever been to. It is also one of the best independently owned businesses I have come across. They do things right!
For all one price, you have access to incredible coaches, top notch programming, varied classes and class times, open gyms, and thoughtful amenities (stuff that's both useful and nice to have, doesn't seem frivolous).
I have been olympic lifting for 20+ years and doing CrossFit off and on for ~15 years. Every coach I trained with at Diablo were great with beginners and advanced folks. They also have a decent amount of high performance athletes if you want to run with that crowd. I am not big into the "CrossFit community" but the culture they have created seems to be all positive; not pretentious, welcoming, but will push you if that's what you are there for.
The best part: no contracts or games. I am in and out of the Bay Area a lot. If I am here for more than a week, it's worth it to pay for the whole month and come to a few classes a week and cancel because I know I can come back whenever. Thanks to Chad who runs the early mornings! Andrew, Levi, Lara, Jamie...anyone who I've taken class with has been great.

Honestly the worst customer service experience I've ever had at any CrossFit box I've been to. I wouldn't be surprised if most of these reviews are fake or just friends of trainers.
I paid in advance and booked my sessions through they're website/app....then was told that I wasn't supposed to book through the app and that the session I booked was already taken and they just hadn't updated their calendar yet. I asked my trainer if I could have a specific time the following day because it looked open in the app and I got a very rude email that the times in the app aren't accurate and that I should stop using the app and only book through my trainer... This is baffling. Why have an app and directions on your website to use it and then be angry with me when I follow YOUR system.
Then when I asked for a refund for how I was treated, they granted me a full refund but felt the need to send me an email that said "sorry you're so confused... We emailed you right away." Again blaming me and taking no responsibility.
That email was all the proof I needed to know I made the right decision. Seriously avoid this place.

A few years ago, my then-fiancee and I were looking to shed a few pounds before our wedding. We'd been going to a typical gym (ClubSport), but felt we weren't getting the results we wanted. Plus, it was the kind of gym I never felt at home in -- people doing curls in the squat rack, olympic lifts disallowed, most people tuned out watching TV while not pushing their bodies to improve. The typical gym atmosphere.
I'd heard about CrossFit, but didn't know if it was more than a fad. When we took a tour of DCF, I felt like I'd found my personal fitness Nirvana. Finally, a place where olympic lifting was considered normal!
If you haven't considered CrossFit, I would highly recommend it. It works, and it's fun! My wife didn't do heavy weightlifting in high school/college like I did, but she's a convert. It feels very satisfying to pick up heavy things -- heavier than you could before! The 1-hour format of the classes is a great way to get better-than-personal-trainer results for far less money.
If you want to do CrossFit, DCF is the best place around to do it. First of all, they're one of the biggest CrossFit boxes around, which means more classes to fit your schedule. And when you want to do your own thing, there's plenty of room and equipment.
The coaches are friendly and accommodating of people with different fitness levels -- no matter how fit you are, you can get fitter and stronger here.
Finally, Craig, the owner (former CrossFit Games winner in the Master's category) talks about wanting DCF to be a real community, and it is. There are a number of events and special classes outside the normal routine, but people also seem to bond and form friendships here to a surprising degree.

I came here this morning and I won't be back. This is not in regards to the workout, because we didn't even make it that far... I'll get to that. To be clear I don't have "crossfit experience." however I workout 4+ times a week. I read the door when I walked in to the gym "Leave your ego at the door" and give it my all.
My brother, who has done cross fit for years, was visiting from out of town. He has been trying to get me into trying a cross fit class in hopes of kicking my fit up a notch level. We checked out the website before attending, we originally hoped to make the 9 am class, however had to move it to 10 am, and my brother missed that the 10 am class REQUIRED CROSSFIT EXPERIENCE. He read me the "gymnastic workout" as we were on the way there and there was nothing I haven't done before, just not at a crossfit gym. I wasn't pumped about the pull ups but figured I would modify to my comfort level while still pushing myself.
This is where my distaste for this place begins. They were more than happy to have us fill out paper work and sign off responsibility and review the cost of a drop in fee with us. As class is beginning, the women who had us fill out paper work, asked if I have ever done cross fit before.. and then preceded to tell us I can't do the class without experience. My brother chimed in "this is a gymnastic workout and she can modify." Her reply was "they want you to have experience." She then preceded to first ask the coach from the previous class if I could stay... then moved on to the coach of the class that was about to begin, which then told her to ask someone I am guessing is the manager/owner of some sorts who told me directly I could not stay. So why was this not brought to our attention when we discussed paper work and drop in fees? Why did we need to ask 3 people if I could stay? Why are we not leaving egos at the door and letting a new comer to cross fit a chance to work out and leave the gym better than when I walked in. ISN"T THAT WHAT LEAVING EGO AT THE DOOR MEANS???
A review of their instagram today showed a gentleman that was attending the SAME class I was attempting to join. The caption reads: "Vince started his journey 6 short weeks ago barely able to get through a very limited warm-up. And, with only 2-3 sessions per week and gradual progressions, he nailed it today. His scaled version of the workout put him in the middle of the pack for rounds and reps. @crossfit is truly amazing and is transforming the life, health and fitness of this 48yo husband and father." Leaving me to question why I couldn't stay a do a "scaled version" myself?
Long story short we went to another crossfit in walnut creek for today's workout and loved it. If you are going to preach leaving egos at the door I suggest you make EVERY class about pushing oneself with the sentiment that no matter what your starting point may be, that's its not about where you finish but that you finish. My issue with this place is that you didn't even let me start.

I've been a member of this gym for almost ten years, and I would still highly recommend it to anyone looking to get or to stay fit. The coaches are extremely competent, and always work to ensure you know what you're doing and that you don't put yourself in any unnecessary danger.
The gym is huge, and extremely well equipped. Anyone from the novice to the experienced crossfitter will find equipment all over the gym to use. Members can come in at any time during the gym hours to work out on their own, or you can come in for classes at almost all hours of the day.

The level of change that I've felt over the last few months is not only equal to the work that I'm putting in but also testament to the programming and coaching on display here. The noticeably large gains in strength that I've experienced without injury would not happen in a gym with less experienced staff. The sheer variety of body types that I encounter on a day to day basis here goes to show that anyone can do these workouts, with modifications to fit the individual. For as long as I am in the East Bay, I will remain a member.

I took a free class with Riki, because, like a crazy girl, I have signed myself up for a Spartan Sprint in May, which is totally out of my (current) athletic reach. I don't think I really comprehended how much upper body strength I lacked until he asked how many pull ups I could do. "Um, none?"
He was super motivating to work with and the workout itself was very challenging. Running, pushups, pulls ups, squats... I'm not completely out-of-shape, just not very strong. And this class literally kicked my a$$ so hard that I could hardly move the next day. Sore from head to toe (but the good kind of sore, like a tiny constant reminder that I did something so good for myself).
I'd totally recommend checking this place out! I enjoyed the music and seeing other people working out at varying levels of skill. It was a good environment for both men and women and I really enjoyed Riki's coaching style.

As a previous Club Sport addict, and a runner, I needed a spot that was easy to go into, bang out a good, hard, hour-long workout, and get out, without checking in locker rooms, having social hour, etc etc. The coaches here are amazing, every time you go in, you feel happy you did, and worked harder than you'd ever work yourself. I lost baby weight from one baby, and then from the last (4th)- did it while pregnant with the last baby too. The yoga class is Awesome, and the vibe here is friendly, laid-back, but professional and always making sure that each member is taken care of. My husband joined too, and he is hooked as well. Followed the advice of a friend (Shari) and my partner (Mark) and I checked out Diablo CrossFit. I immediately realized this was not like any other gyms that I had worked out at before.
The coaches are great and their commitment to warming up, mobilizing, and stretching before workouts is really what sold me.
If you're looking for a gym to look at yourself while you're curling dumbbells, this is not the place. Plan on putting those muscles to work in a team centric environment where folks are cheering you on to finish the workout, regardless of your abilities.
The best perk about Diablo CrossFit is having access to their various locations.

Crossfit in itself is life changing both physically and mentally. However, if you are looking for a extension of your family...Diablo Crossfit (DCF) is the place for you! DCF runs an extremely professional facility...the coaches, equipment, facility, class options are all top notch! As a busy professional, one of the biggest values for me is that DCF has two facilities that I can train at AND they have open gym ALL day; It's the flexibility that my crazy schedule needs. Above all, the entire community including the owners , coaches and members make DCF my home away from home. I have experienced many crossfits in the area and had not found my home until I got to DCF. Not only does DCF have one of the best competitive environments for me to train in, (don't get scared off...It's only if you want to be competitive) I truly LOVE training here...because we're all friends and family!! If you give DCF a shot.. you'll be glad you did!!
