The management here is terrible,
My friends and I paid $20 for tickets to come to open gym for an hour. GUESS WHAT, they called my friend and said shes not allowed in because she is a gymnast from a “different gym”. On the website on the Policy page it states absolutely NOTHING that a gymnast from someplace else cannot go to their open gym that WE are paying for.
I decide I do not want to go anymore because my friend is not allowed in. I call and ask if there is anything I can do for a refund and the lady on the phone is giving me straight up attitude, she puts me on hold and proceeds to tell me l cannot get a refund.
There was absolutely nothing stated when I bought the ticket that it is nonrefundable, I told that to the lady on the phone and she just asked if I wanted to speak to a manager, already upset and annoyed I decline.
1/10 experience because at least they picked up the phone. 😐

This place charges $5 dollars per "minute" for picking late. They front desk lady demanded 90 dollars. This place sucks.
Not even once they shared about how the kid is learning and progress. This is just an very expensive day care.
Let me summarize their revenue model. They charge 500 per week for training kids 6 hours. Which accounts to $17 per hour. The cost of being late is $300 per hour. This is good revenue model to rip off busy bay area workers struggling to pick up kids between meeting.
Again this place sucks.

2024 began with hope.
After years of instability, Edge finally found an incredible coach: Coach Beth. She was a godsend—highly technical, deeply experienced, nurturing, and a strong leader. The gymnasts adored her, and the parents trusted her completely. She was the coach we had always dreamed of.
Then Brittani and Kristine fired her—for a ridiculous reason.
The girls were devastated, but Coach Nick stepped up. He is quieter and more reserved, but his passion for gymnastics was undeniable. He worked tirelessly—often alone—and many girls achieved personal bests thanks to his technical expertise and dedication.
Throughout the season, parents saw that Edge was taking advantage of Coach Nick. He coached solo at practices and meets, consistently showed up for the girls, and remained committed. Meanwhile, Brittani didn’t attend a single meet, and Paul showed up to only two. Typically, three coaches rotate through each meet. Nick carried the entire burden for our girls. I even heard his hands were bleeding after the State Meet from setting up bars for four days straight.
As soon as the season ended, Brittani fired him.
Now, she has named herself Head Coach.
This is beyond absurd. You cannot imagine how upset everyone was.
Let’s talk about Brittani—and why this is so troubling.
Brittani was originally hired as a coach, but it’s well known at Edge that she didn’t—and doesn’t—want to coach Xcel. Some parents have even heard her say she hates coaching kids. Instead, she worked under Kristine, became close to her, and was promoted to general manager.
She has some gymnastics coaching experience, but not consistently throughout her career. She has rarely been on the floor last season, and even when she was, she wasn’t effective. Good coaches are known for giving meaningful corrections—Brittani didn’t offer them.
Most importantly, she cannot spot. Spotting is a basic and essential skill for any gymnastics coach. That alone should disqualify her from coaching—let alone from leading a competitive program.
In the past, she literally told some parents that she doesn’t want to coach—and in the same breath, said she wants to be Head Coach. Make it make sense.
As for Paul—he’s Brittani’s friend. He is not a gymnastics coach; he’s a cheer coach. He can spot on floor, but very unprofessionally, and he has no knowledge of bars, beam, or vault. During the last season, apart from helping on floor, he was usually just sitting or standing around while Nick coached alone.
Coach Simone is a dance coach.
So no—there is currently no qualified gymnastics coach at Edge.
Edge is the most expensive Xcel program in the area. We’re paying more and getting less than ever before.
After Nick was fired, Brittani started showing up on the floor with Paul. Within just one week, three girls were injured—one even broke her ankle.
Naturally, most families left. We moved our daughter to another gym and are happy with it—but now we all have to endure a long drive just to give our daughters a safe place to train. So yes we are really upset.
I’ve since heard that many families had the exact same experience in the past—especially when Edge shut down the DP program.
All we ever wanted was a safe, supportive place with decent coaches for our daughters to learn gymnastics.
To all the families who had to leave: I wish you the best of luck.
Thank you for being amazing friends.

UPDATE: 1/30
I have increased the rating from 1 star to 3 star based on the following:
- management will take action to monitor the specific instructor
- I am available for phone discussions if management still has comments on the revised rating

Which coach you get for your kids makes all the differences! Do your research! My daughter had to change her after school schedules and was no longer available on Friday (honestly the coaches was great in my opinion) so we switched her to Saturday morning expecting similar experience. This coach who was supposedly a former gymnast for Edge, demonstrated favoritism (ethnicity? ability? I am not sure) towards certain kids in very obvious ways in my opinion:
- in many cases favored kids get to do the exercise first and received help when I observed.
- many times I observed, when my daughter was up for the exercise, Mira would walk away to help other favored kids.
- even my daughter said she liked the Friday coaches better.
We are now waitlisted for other sessions and shuffling her schedule again. Edge remains our first choice for gymnastics for my daughter, but only if we can move to a different coach.

Very unprofessional and money minded .. my daughter had a clash of timings with another school activity so i called pre class time to change her classes and they gave me a no class for that week but charged me for it and then gave me attitude and said no make up classes or this week class .. change is allowed only from next week .. too money policy focused and make no adjustments for anyone

They are running like a scam now not allowing parents to opt-out if they can't make out of class and you can't cancel it. Myself have to waste 100$ since my kids doesn't want to attend that trainer and other class was not available to signup for.

My 6 year old daughter just attended five classes at this center. With in five classes there were three instructors. How can an instructor know the progress the kid is making if the instructors change so frequently.
One week back , my daughter comes back home with a broken ankle. The new instructor doesnot even know if my daughter needs help. He simply asked her to perform tasks without any help. He literally ignored the wounds and other instructors at the center has to carry her back to the office.
With frequent change of instructors how can a child progress. Please think twice before enrolling.

Have taken my year and a half year old to the toddler class for a few months now and have been very impressed and happy with everything Edge has to offer. We are always greatly warmly upon entering the massive gym space. Amy the GM is amazing at helping you find the right fit for your kid and will gladly help set you up and make suggestions based on your kids age, ability and skill. The toddler class is wonderful. My kid loves jumping and tumbling and in these times most importantly meeting new people who have quickly become good friends. We’ve had 2 teachers, Ms. Samantha and Ms Ari. I cannot express enough my thanks to Ms Samantha for teaching my kid how to do a somersault. She was so excited to learn over a few short weeks and then practice everywhere at home. It was her patient teaching and care that made my kid fall in love with gymnastics. Sadly Ms had to go back to school but Ms Ari became the new teacher and is just as amazing.
If your kid has show any interest in gymnastics or just needing to blow off some energy I highly recommend Edge. It’s a wonderful clean safe space where you will meet some amazing people.

Great gym. They just opened back up for open gym for 6+. The younger kiddos started open gym already. Huge area. Trained staff that were eager to assist with tricks and equipment when needed. Cleaned area, temp checked, santized. Felt very comfortable. Family atmosphere. Loved the beams, multiple foam pits, trampolines, bars, rings, and of course lots of mats. We will be back for open gym and classes.

I singed my daughter to 4 years old class at Edge which was fine, my daughter used to go to different gymnastics , for an year and her teacher was very good!!! Techers was encouraging kids to move up and worked on their strength , my daughter loved it ! At that time my daughter was only 3 year old and class was for an hour and a half !...
but unfortunately we had to move to San Ramon from different city... anyway I had to look for different gymnastics , I found Egde we were going for 6 month , but I felt no improvement. ... i asked twice to move my daughter to different class where they work more on stretching and splits. Beth said she is not ready yet. I stayed at Edge another 4 month which was waste of time, and I also noticed that my daughter wasnt very excited to go to gymnastics anymore , she was bored at Edge ... 🙁
2nd time I asked teacher if they can move my daughter to older group for 5 years old, she is turning 5 in 2 weeks.... techer was kida short and rude said when she turn 5 check with us again ...😕
I feel the only teacher was nice and care at Edge was Cyndy...

Facility looked good, rude receptionist
We went there and the receptionist pointed at the schedule pamphlets and suggested to check the prorated fees and register online. Obviously no tour of the facility and we left regretting our visit. No question of going there again..
