This is a great gym with such a positive and fun culture. Nicole, the owner, has built something really special and the other trainers have are great as well. I am blown away by their level of knowledge and professionalism.

Efficient Working Bodies is a fantastic studio. I love the group classes (strength and surge, core and cardio, LIIT). Nicole, the studio owner, is the heart and soul of the studio. She has a usually keen eye and keeps a close watch on form. As an ‘older person’, I am especially thankful for her diligence. I imagine she has saved me multiple times from injuring myself. Nicole has an infectious energy, makes classes fun, and is welcoming to all. Nicole’s trainers are well vetted and are highly skilled. I have especially enjoyed taking Brenda, Andrea, and Paul’s classes. No matter what class I am taking or what trainer I am working with, I am always offered options or modifications to the workout. I feel really supported and valued at this studio. I am entirely grateful to have access to such a magical little studio with incredible staff.

I love my neighborhood gym with small classes and individualized attention. There is a strong feeling of community and support. The instructors are really good at modifying exercises when I’m limited or in pain. Nicole recently performed bodywork on me for pain in my neck and shoulders. She intuitively knew where to go and I had immediate relief. She also provides valuable information on nutrition. I’ve had great experience with all the instructors and enjoy the variety of classes offered.

EWB (and all the crew) is amazing. Nicole has done a fantastic job of creating a supportive, fun community! The small classes are great. Every time I go, I feel as though I've gotten a full-body workout, all while being able to modify to meet my needs (and just how I'm feeling that day). I joined Efficient Working Bodies (EWB) about a year ago. It was the best thing I ever did. This gym is great. Prior to joining I was doing yoga, spin and running had and thought I was pretty healthy and fit. I had knee surgery in Nov 2022 and needed to do some strength building. I went snowboarding in March 2023 and it was brutal, I did not have endurance and my knee was not happy. This year I just went snowboarding and felt amazing, I had endurance, did not tire on the runs, my knee did not swell or bother me. I attribute this to EWB, Nicole and all the instructors. This gym has changed my life, I now know I am fit, I can feel my strength and physical and mental health. Nicole is amazing, attentive and really cares. All of the instructors and coaches are amazing as well. Thank you EWB! I highly recommend this gy.

This gym is fantastic and the owner truly cares about your wants and needs in regards to fitness! Nicole does an AMAZING job at modifying workouts so all fitness levels can participate and feel like they had a good workout. Additionally, she does great at supporting you in regards to nutrition. EWB is one of the best decisions we've made for our health. We'd gotten busy with work and I was feeling like my best fitness days were behind me. After nine months of working out with Nicole and her crew, I'm in the best shape in over a decade.

My boyfriend signed up for personal training with Jonathan a few months ago. Jonathan took the time to design a customized plan tailored to our needs. His expertise and professionalism allowed me to push my boundaries while prioritizing my safety and preventing injuries.

Now, we regularly participate in cardio, strength, and LIIT classes at EWB multiple times a week. The small class sizes allow our instructors, Nicole and Paul, to provide individual attention and guidance to each of us. I have a cranky back and shoulders from hours working at a computer everyday. And their guidance on form has helped improve my posture and remain pain free as I get stronger.

All the instructors bring great energy, which helps keep us motivated even in early morning classes. They challenge us while also ensuring we feel comfortable.

This is one of the only fitness studios I enjoy going to, specifically the strength and low intensity strength classes. The studio and instructors are friendly, welcoming, and you never feel intimidated taking a class here. Although weights (and sometimes TRX) are always used, every class is never the exact same formula, so you never get bored. I highly recommend this studio for any fitness level.

Nicole is over the top knowledgeable about what she does. Recently moved to San Diego from New York and found Nicole. I have been struggling with a piriformis, IT band injury that has kept me sidelined for a few years.She is far superior to the physical therapist I was seeing in New York. With her help, I am now able to walk more than 3 miles a day. Pain free. She is truly a Godsend. She also mixes the personal training sessions up every time to keep it interesting and to focus on strengthening the body overall! Don’t look any further for a trainer. Plus she has yoga and other classes to boot.

Was in San Diego for a Bachelorette Party and we came to Nicole’s studio for some sweating before the wedding. It was such a phenomenal experience all the way around. She brought so much energy to the room and planned a great workout for us to get the endorphins running. Even provided great modifications for me as a 26 week pregnant bridesmaid. Joined this gym with my sister in preparation for my wedding! We signed up for the personal training together and had so much fun. Our trainer, Cassie was amazing and kicked our butts. I would never wake up at 5:45a if it wasn’t for the accountability. I hated working out and now after over 24 personal training sessions I crave it. I never was in great shape and now I am stronger than ever. We also attended their group LIIT class on the weekends and loved it. 10/10 recommend supporting this small business instead of big corporations. I want to start this review by sharing a little background on myself and my fitness journey throughout the years. I am a 42 year old mom of 4 kids, and fitness has always been very important to me, and I have spent many hours in several types of gyms. While each gym was unique, I never felt as though I was getting the instruction I needed to get the results I desperately wanted. In my honest opinion, I always felt like I was just another number willing to pay high dues.

Eight months ago, a good friend invited me to a small neighborhood boutique gym in the Ocean Beach Sunset Cliffs area, called Efficient Working Bodies (EWB). I signed up for a class, and the owner, Nicole asked me to come in a little early to meet with her. She asked me if I had any injuries, what I wanted to achieve, and gave me a little bit of background on what her gym was all about.

I was hooked after the first class. I was in a group with 5 other people, which is a small group and it allowed for Nicole to walk around and make adjustments to everyone’s form, as well as modifications if necessary. I enjoyed the small group setting because it felt like you were getting personal training for a fraction of the cost.

Over the last 8 months, EWB has become my second home. Not only are the workouts incredible, we have a community of people at EWB that support and encourage one another. It does not matter your skill level, Nicole will tailor the workouts to your level. You will never feel uncomfortable walking in her gym, it is an amazing community of people that encourage you and have zero judgement.

I rarely write reviews, but feel so compelled because EWB is unique and if you listen to her, you will see results! Not only will you be stronger, Nicole focuses on the whole body, working on mobility and flexibility as well. She also offers yoga on her outdoor patio, which is amazing! There is so much to offer for such a reasonable price.

The analogy that I like to use when trying to describe EWB is…remember what it was like having a family doctor, and he or she was thorough, dependable, provided care for you, and knew you at a personal level? This is the same treatment you will feel like you are getting at EWB with Nicole. She genuinely cares about every aspect of your health and goes out of her way to help you achieve your goals.

I started with Nicole over two years ago and I will not go anywhere else. Since starting with Nicole, my migraines have decreased significantly, I feel stronger, I look great and I am healthy. I absolutely love her.
Nicolle completely changes up the daily routine so nothing gets boring. Each routine incorporates a full body and mind workout. Classes are challenging but totally doable. Nicole makes all members feel welcome, she never yells or calls people out when they struggle, she gives alternatives workouts for people with aches and pains, and always smiles. Plus her body is on point, just looking at her is motivating. Love love love love love this studio.

I have been going to EWB for several years now and have loved every class I have taken. I have a small injury that requires modifications to a lot of exercises and Nicole is always happy to give me 1:1 attention and feedback. I'm so happy I found EWB!! I hadn't worked out in a gym since before the COVID lock down, and my body was feeling the results of that. I wasn't into looking for a personal trainer, but wanted a boutique-style training, and remembered stumbling upon EWB years before through Class Pass. I decided to check out a 6am class (since that time is the best time for me as a working mom), and I'm sooooo happy I did! It's only been a couple of weeks, but my body already feels stronger, my lower back pain is less and less each week, and Nicole is obviously passionate about helping people. I have been meaning to write this review for over a year now! My friend, who had been raving about the place, took me to just two classes with trainer Nicole. Truly amazing! She has a true passion and is attentive and very perceptive to everyone's form and what they can improve. Pushing everyone while honoring their individual limits. She even encouraged me to pursue training myself after picking up on how much I enjoy it, without me ever saying a word. The Zoom classes have saved my sanity this year, Nicole is able to provide her same custom 1 on 1 attention during her small Zoom classes. I've worked how with EWB while in good shape, or fighting injuries, and even while pregnant and Nicole has always provided modifications to make everyone feel challenged and comfortable while getting a great workout. Nicole is literally the BEST trainer I’ve ever had in my life.... and trust me, between NYC and SoCal, I’ve had a lot of trainers! She genuinely cares about her clients and group fitness class participants and is constantly aiding and critiquing individuals throughout class. No matter what your experience level is when it comes to weight lifting/working out, Nicole is constantly teaching you new things either about the correct form for a certain exercise, your own personal alignment, and then some. Her classes have improved my athleticism all around. My only complaint is lack of classes from Nicole around lunchtime..... as it seems that’s become my only bit of “me” time anymore *sigh.*. I may need to shell out and get her to train me one on one! And believe me I would.... she is THAT good!!!

I met the owner of Efit Bodies, Nicole, years ago but was reluctant to join her gym despite that it was a mile from my home. When my gym moved, I finally decided to give it a try and I’ve never looked back! I started out doing one class per week and now do 3, and sometimes 5. The workouts are fun, high quality and with attention to detail (even now over Zoom!). Despite my age, I have gotten demonstrably stronger as a result and especially appreciate a stronger core - a key part of workouts. In addition, I’ve done individual training and highly recommend that route as well. Nicole, and her instructors, are all very knowledgable about our bodies, how they work best, and how to bring them back to health after an injury. My only hesitation in highly recommending this gym is that I want to save this little gem for myself!

I do both her small group classes and personal training which incorporate cardio, strength training, and stretching. Betsy is so knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly motivating and challenging. She is able to work with any fitness skill level and has been super accommodating with my shoulder injury. Nicole at Efficient Working Bodies is amazing. I've joined her group classes and love them. She has wonderful energy to help you through a group workout and she welcomes each person sincerely. One feels pampered working out because Nicole helps each person make optional choices before, during and after any workout! (I happen to have a sore shoulder and plantar fasciitis and after chatting with her about how to get back in shape with those "disabilities", I discovered that she actually knows more about the body than a LOT of doctors and physical therapists I've seen about my problems do). She has a warm personality so you feel comfortable talking with her and learning from her. At some other gyms there's often a pressure to really pump it up and be as good as all these super buff people, but with Nicole, she encourages you smoothly and thoughtfully so you learn the moves, build strength and do the exercises in good form (so important!). She limits her class size so she can give each person attention and she walks around the room to be sure we're all focusing on the right body part - giving gentle reminders to all of us (or as we need them individually). I do love how at times she gets us to multitask our muscle movements and she's very clever in how she keeps our heart rates up during the workout time. Nicole is flexible, full of knowledge, willing to help out in educating us on nutrition and at-home exercises, and she encourages us to ask questions. Her fitness studio is sunny, airy and welcoming. She was so kind to allow me to sample her classes before I committed and her prices are superb for what you get!! I totally recommend trying out this little pearl of a training gym in Ocean Beach (and hey, you can't beat the beautiful location!). It's exactly what I was looking for and I'm glad I found it after having visited other gyms - this is definitely a good one for you to try out.

These ladies help you reach your best self! No matter what level you are at, you are comfortable there! For the last year and a 1/2 my running has struggled due to plantar fasciitis, low back & neck pain. They made sure my form was correct during any exercise and Sara personally worked with me to release muscles hindering my running. Between that & a little homework on my own, after a short time, the pain was gone & my running pace increased substantially! Yes!!!!!!

Nicole Grevelis is so passionate about what she does. I started seeing results after just a few weeks. The location is so convenient to my house. It is rare that you can go to a business and feel like you get really personalized service. She is so good at what she does. I love working out somewhere where you can tell the owner loves being there every day helping people. It is challenging in a good way. I will be a longtime client. Her prices are also very fair. Nicole is the best! Her energy is infectious and her expertise in health, fitness and nutrition makes her the best personal trainer that I have ever met.

The classes are a perfect combo of strength/resistance training, cardio, stretching/yoga/breathing. She takes the time to focus on technique so the exercises are safe and work muscles you never knew you had. This focus has really helped me with my injuries and ailments. My back, core and mobility is night and day since I've started training @ E-Fit with Nicole.

And most importantly she is a doll! She really cares about her clients and treats us like family. She is truly interested in you as a person and gives great advice physically, mentally and emotionally. She's all POSITIVE which is huge after a crappy day at work.

I simply love this boutique fitness studio! The quality of instruction that both Nicole and Karen offer is outstanding! The small size group fitness classes allows one to really learn, evolve and get strong the right way! The workouts are well designed, varied, high intensity and fun!
