The El Dorado Hills sports club is horribly managed. (Most of the staff is great) but there are a few bitter old lady staff that get off on harassing and bullying guests. I come here to work out, not be confronted by angry old women in the locker room who have nothing better to do than bully younger girls alone in the locker room and threaten them all because you left at 9:02 not exactly 9. There is a way to communicate to guests and they do not know how to do it. Incredibly rude and disrespectful, I will never reccomend this place to anyone ever again. UPDATE: going back and reading other reviews of women who have experienced similar issues makes me feel better knowing it wasn't just me. These older "staff members" need to be fired or mabey take advantahe of the gym they work at to burn off some post menopause and divorce resentment.

The El Dorado Hills Sports club is more than a gym. It's a community. I can always count on being greeted with a smile and warmth from the staff who make this place incredible.

The building is beautiful and in a perfect location in the town center and it does indeed have palm trees, saunas, hot tubs, a wonderful weight room and for the brave and daring, a wide variety of cardio equipment as well. But what makes this place truly magical is the people. Every day I see both the staff and the sports club members show up to contribute to a positive and encouraging environment.

I have had the privilege of growing up at this gym and playing in the kids room as a kid, discovering the weight room as a teen, and now as a young adult 4 years into my fitness journey, I get to spend every day in the very place where I fell in love with fitness and health and continue to grow.

People from all walks of life show up to pursue the best versions of themselves while also lifting up others in the process. It is a beautiful thing to witness those who are more experienced and advanced in their fitness journey's consistently pour into those who have questions and are new to theirs.

Whether you're a young kid or an older adult, there is a place for you at the El Dorado Hills sports club, and it is somewhere I am honored to have a place at as well.

The Sports Club reminds me what is best about El Dorado Hills. People are genuinely kind, it’s not over the top, and it is honestly therapeutic to come here. Yes, there are guest passes. But to be honest, there are so many teens, my own included, that love to come here on their scooters, that the guest passed have to be enforced, or it would probably be teen central of so many people who don’t pay🤪. When my family comes in town, trust me, I hate swallowing the fee so that my in-laws can work out with me, but I love for them to see one a wonderful place it is, and how it’s one of my favorite parts of where we live. Love everyone who works there and I love this beautiful gym. I hope to keep going here for many more years. And by the way, I think the kids’ club has been the most therapeutic thing for me. I wouldn’t know what I would do without these second mothers in the ladies who watch my kiddos. It was my saving grace when I had my fourth. Absolutely love it.

I almost believed the angry reviews — then I remembered, some people just can’t handle being told “no.” My friends were right: most of the negative ones read like tantrums from spoiled folks who didn’t get their way.

This club is gorgeous, the staff are amazing, and every interaction has been nothing but respectful. Meanwhile, the complainers can stew — I’ll be busy actually enjoying my workouts.

I’ve been training here for a while, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best gyms I’ve ever been to. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and has everything you need for a solid workout. What really sets this place apart is the staff—especially Jane. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and supportive! She always greets me with a smile and it makes the workout that much better! If you’re looking for a gym with a great community and top-notch guidance, this is the place!

Must have been a bad day for Jane bc she pulled rank on me by saying “Im the manager” after refusing me a day pass. Was willing to pay the $25 for a day pass after having been a longtime member. If there’s a zero-trust policy for known past members, why not replace the front desk staff with AI? Left a bad taste.

Nice club. Nice employees that I interacted with there. Somehow the app showed I never signed in? I guess I did it incorrectly and just walked in? Read everything you sign. Do not listen to the sales people, read it. My wife and I were told by multiple employees at different times they would waive the early term fee if we had to move out of state for work. They will absolutely not waive anything. In fact they will also try to overcharge you if you leave the contract before it is up. Keep an eye on your card dealing with them.

Edit to response - That was in no way a courtesy on their part. That was the contract verbatim. Not reading the contract and trusting the employees word is what got us into the issue. The contract read as a 1 year commitment, $200 if cancelled within 6 Mos and $50 if 6 Mos or later. We canceled after 6 mos of membership. Again, watch your card as noted in many other reviews. They in no way conceded anything in fact they said they were charging $200 which I pointed out is against the contract. Which I kept.

I have been a member here for almost 5 years and took a break last year. My family are still members at this club. When I wanted to get onto to membership again, the front desk was insisting me to pay the one day guest pass fee just for the only reason that my wife couldn't come in person with me to make changes to the membership. In fact, she has spoken on phone and was assured by the club staff that we don't have to pay the guest fee as we will be signing the changes to membership the next day. When I went there with that assurance, everything changed with front desk staff handling this and they insisted I pay the guest pass fee. The way in which few people at front desk handled it made me so embarrassed just for that guest fee collection. This made me wonder how much they value money more than a returning member. I may end up going there just because my kids has to be with us during the time we spent at gym but the club is never going to change my impression of how unprofessional they are. Very very poor customer management in the era where customer satisfaction is deemed of highest priority. I saw exact similar experience posted by another customer which indicates that the club ownership needs to start taking these seriously and have appropriate trainings on how to handle sensitive things like these before the credibility is lost. I hope someone will look at this and act upon.

A horrible woman at the front desk Ashley was threading to write “notes” about my daughter on their profiles after trying to get a day pass for their friend. Don’t know what these notes do other than not allowing them to get guest passes, very unprofessional to threaten customers who have belong to this gym for years. I have never had a problem getting a day pass before. My girls were so confused apparently she was the only manger there that day and would not let them get a guest pass.

Never going back 😂 There’s an absolutely miserable woman working at the front who seems to only be employed as an example of what you’ll become if you choose to never touch a workout machine who didn’t allow my 9 year old sister and I to escape the heat by waiting quietly in the lobby while we waited for our mother to finish her workout class. We had previously been members here and were waiting for only around 2 minutes before she spoke to me with the most SNARKY tone, immediately telling us to leave and then informing us it would be the “last time” she’d allow us to sit there? I promptly got up and left. Id reconsider her employment as you never know who you’re speaking to, just saying. Losing members actively, this happened at 1 pm 9/13. Great job sports club, we won’t be back

This place charges useless fees without you knowing. I wanted to pause my membership due to temporary health issues and they wanted a “pause” fee. So charging to do nothing. So I cancelled and there’s a “cancellation fee”. I’m never coming back to this gym again. Not to mention there’s no areas to actually stretch or do floor exercises without all the people (especially men) staring at you.

I’ve been a member here since 2015. I find the staff courteous and helpful, the trainers great, and the equipment absolutely sufficient for my needs. If there is a piece of equipment, that is not working properly, I bring it to the attention of staff, and the issue is generally promptly dealt with. I don’t expect things to be repaired instantaneously, because that is simply impossible for most of us, including those in the business community. This place is a gem in our community, and for those who are not happy here – you do have choices. There is no good reason to disparage a great facility if you have particular needs that it cannot meet.

I’ll start by saying I am not one to leave bad reviews and especially since I have tried multiple times to resolve this issue with the manager but have yet to get a response. I originally made the switch from lifetime to save money and it started out ok. Hazel, the manager signed me up and let me know I could bring my daughter for a day for free to see if she likes it before signing her up. When I brought her I was charged for a “guest fee” so I called the front office & they assured me it would be removed before my statement arrived. I went ahead and added my daughter to the account on the 20th of the month, which was then charged for the full month, it was not prorated. When the statement arrived nothing was accurate and my total amount being charged was far more than what I was originally paying at my other gym! After leaving multiple voicemail attempts to reach Hazel I still got no reply. When I went into the club I asked to speak with Hazel directly yet was blocked by the front desk receptionist Jane, who gave me contradicting excuses as to why Hazel was not available. After this I began to get frustrated, so I had asked what I needed to do to cancel my membership. This immediately shifted Jane’s attitude to be very rude. After filling out my cancellation paperwork I had asked one more time if I could speak with Hazel to adjust the mistakes as originally promised. She rolled her eyes and responded with these exact words: “you know, since you’re cancelling we won’t be honoring that refund..”. I just laughed and preceded to go workout. During my entire workout Jane and her other female coworker stood in the lobby staring at me as I used multiple machines. They made me feel so uncomfortable and judged. It is absolutely insane to me how unprofessional their staff is. I have been a professional in the medical field for 6 years and think it’s so unnecessary for a business to act so petty. In addition to their staff, the gym is dirty and very unorganized. They have equipment packed so close to each other you pretty much run into or hit the person next to you.
Moral of the story: DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. Stick with lifetime or the other gyms out there that actually care about their members experience and are able to solve conflict without being unprofessional and petty. I’m sure to let all my friends and patients who consider this place to STEER CLEAR!!

I edited my review. JP doesn't teach anymore but another great aquateacher deserves 5 stars. Stacey is amazing and I can tell that she makes us work hard. I can feel my abs and butt! And she is funny! Thanks a lot Stacey for such a great job! She is also an amazing Barre teacher.

This sports club has zero integrity!!! They do not hold themselves accountable for employees following policies and procedures for cancelling memberships and claim they are perfect, they don’t make mistakes. Despite my very thorough explanation of a scenario they refused to pull video footage so I could prove what I did and who I spoke with and left written notice of cancellation. Asante spa shouldn't be in the massage and spa business... instead of destressing us they completely stressed us out by canceling on our couples massage 4 times and twice when we were almost at the facility. The excuse was always the massage person broke her back. Which means, no proper agility or strength to conduct their so called profession. If you can't provide the service say so upfront without making us wait till the last minute and call and cancel coz customers will think other factors may play into as to why you won't take a particular customer. I booked an appointment online and 4 days later they got back to me. Katie calls and sets up the appointment for me and my friend then asks for my credit card number to secure the appointment. I tell her I will call her back as I do not give my CC information to anyone who calls me. Right after I hang up with her my boss calls me. I'm on the phone with him for 3 minutes. She calls me back. I tell her I will call her back when I am off the phone with my boss. She huffs over the phone and tells me that if she does not get my cc number by the end of the day then she will have to give our appointment to someone else. her demeanor was rude and abrupt. This is a great gym and it's well run. For example, the equipment is new or in good shape, they have a huge fitness floor loaded with free weights and machines and all the cardio you'd ever need.

If you want personal trainers, yoga or fitness classes those are available, too,

They have a gym for basketball, volleyball and punching bags, two great pools, two tubs, steam room and saunas. And there is all kinds of stuff to do for your kids.

Overall it was a great day. I did the R. R. package. When I arrived there was only one front desk and three patrons. She was already helping one and she double tasks to help me but I did have to wait for a bit. It did feel rushed. The massage and scrub was amazing. Then this is the part I really didn't like. I was put into the common wait room to wait for my facial. I'm in my robe with other women fully dressed just sitting there. Then instead of my facial I was brought a tv tray and served my food. I really felt uncomfortable eating there with others right next to me and I'm the only one undressed. And I was not really informed I was going to eat, I was waiting for my facial.

The facial was nice and then when I checked out it was a different front desk and she was rather curt. She was not pleasant at all. She made the whole thing a little sour. I would still come back, but maybe not do any with a lunch involved. The actual services were great, just the whole experience was lacking.

Childcare for kids 7 to 12 is terrible. The workers stay at the back of room and don't greet you as you signin and drop off your kids. At any time, a kid can easily walk out without them noticing. Someone could take them. No security or care.

Just a few criticisms- lovely outdoor lounge was just a bit chilly and no propane in the space heaters😢

Me and 4 other girls came to this spa for a chill bachelorette spa day..... OMG I have been EVERYWHERE for massages and the only other day spa I have been to for a day spa was thunder valley. When I say this spa is a million times better and they serve lunch!!! The massage was good. The free add on scalp massage sucked. I have not had a professional scalp massage before but I would think they would last longer than 1 minute. The massage therapist touched my forehead and top of my head 5-6 times and said she was done. When I asked about the scalp massage she said she did it. She said she didn’t want to bother me to take my ponytail out in case I was relaxed. The customer service was awful. I walked in to make an appointment and the computers were down. They didn’t ask to take my name and number to call me back when the computers came back up. I made an appointment request online and they never contacted me to make an appointment. I walked in a second time to finally make the appointment. When I was paying for my massage I had to argue with the lady for the discount they advertised as the month special. They also offer special rates for gym members which they did not ask if I was a member and I am so I did not get that special rate. I felt like a bother to them than valued customer.

The services are way overpriced for the facility. The locker room is cramped and tired, and the lockers were full when we arrived so we didn't get to use them. The products available for use in the locker room are not spa quality. The steam room and sauna are in the gym locker room and are disgusting. I did really like my esthetician and the product line she used for my facial, however she was late starting my treatment and finished on time so my treatment was cut short because the spa was running behind. The beverages and snacks in the lounge were cheap Costco bulk items. Overall I was very disappointed with the experience and cringed at forking over several hundred $$ for our treatments.
