Empowered Fitness has changed the way I feel about working out! From day one, I felt welcomed into a fun, supportive community and I’ve actually made friends here. The coaches keep things fresh with a wide variety of workouts, so the time flies by. When I started, I couldn’t do a single push-up and now they’re my favorite (though I still can’t say the same for burpees :-). I feel stronger, more toned, and have much more energy in my day. Plus, Diana makes it fun with raffles and challenges that keep you motivated. If you’re looking for a gym that’s more like a community than a chore, this is it.

I continue to love Empowered Fitness; who knew that fitness could be fun. I've been working out with them now for over 15 years. The workouts are continuously evolving making them challenging but doable. There are also nutrition challenges to help with a reset or just make sure you’re aware of your eating habits. I can’t do high impact any more but there are always modifications I can do!

I have been working out EF For many many years and my motto has always been “ You never regret going, You only regret not going!” Every single Trainer that is there now or has been previously is fantastic! Diana has built a culture of community and support and I have made many friends at EF As well as worked on my fitness. My first trip to EF was before a big college reunion and I wanted to hurry up, Lol! Here it is many years later and I’m preparing for more reunions, but more importantly, caring more about my health, eating habits, and fitness as I continue to get older. I have brought my husband, my children and my friends to EF over the years and no one ever regrets going!

I committed to working out at least four days a week starting in December 2023, and thanks to the 5:30 AM classes, I’ve been able to stick to my goal. Empowered Fitness in Half Moon Bay has made that commitment easy and enjoyable! Their signature PowerBlast class combines cardio and strength with a variety that keeps things fresh and challenging—perfect for me since I’m not a big fan of running. The outstanding coaches provide constant support and motivation, and the community atmosphere is amazing. My classmates are so encouraging, with high fives all around after every class. I’ve been going to EF for almost 3 months and already feel so much stronger. I love just walking into class and not having to think about anything. There is a good mix of cardio and strength training which is enough to get your heart rate up and your muscles sore. I also really appreciate that the twice weekly membership can be paused when sick or on vacation, so when you’re ready to exercise, you have motivation to be going twice a week, but that also doesn’t mean you pay for nothing when unable to attend. Highly recommend!

I have been attending Empowered Fitness for 12 years. The classes give you a full body workout. Although you are in a group class, the Trainers always take interest in your individual progress and how you are doing. They are there to help you. There is acceptance and no judgement if you need to modify an exercise. There is also nutritional information and programs for cleaner eating! Always feel better after a class. It sets the momentum for the rest of the day! I would highly recommend Empowered Fitness to anyone wanting to improve their health.

I absolutely LOVE my workouts at EF! The group fitness classes provide a satisfying mix of strength training, cardio, and stability training that keep me motivated. I LOVE Empowered Fitness! I’ve been working out there for almost 5 years, beginning with 6 months of 1:1 training, and now regularly 3-4 group classes per week. Classes can be TOUGH but the coaches as well as other clients make it very comfortable for me to go at my pace, push my own limits, and provide alternatives when my arthritic knee is not up to a particular move. One of their values is “caring” and they really do. Diana sends regular motivational and supportive emails. It’s a welcoming and supportive place and I am always feeling good physical and mental results.

I absolutely love Empowered Fitness! I’ve been going there about 8 years now and even through my third pregnancy. Diana and her team are the best! They are always ready to help me modify a move, if needed depending how I’m feeling, but mostly incredibly motivating. They have helped me with my fitness goals, made me stronger but mostly feel better about myself. I always look forward to the next day for class, I love my morning workouts there with my peeps. It’s my time! It really starts my day off right. I currently have new highschooler, middleschooler and kindergartner. I signed up with personal trainer 'Christian' a year and a half ago and have had a great experience with well thought out workouts to push me without injuries to my 55 yr old body. I am down +-25 lbs of gut and now going back up 10 with muscle gain. It is now my sacred 1hr per week, I do not miss a workout. Great people nice place very personal and likable.

I posted a positive review of Empowered Fitness over five years ago, and I still can’t say enough great things about this place! I’ve been exercising there for over 8 years and am still excited to show up and get to work.
Despite all the curveballs Covid is throwing, they keep hitting it out of the park. They transitioned to live and recorded streamed classes, and do live outside classes most days. The instructors are unique but they all have 3 things in common: they care about the clients, they’re good at what they do, and they dish out some tough work outs. Diana and her team will help you meet your health and wellness goals with a personal, caring approach- and help you have fun while they’re at it!

I love love the online classes, since I can do them from wherever I am and never miss one. I look forward to the in-person outdoor classes too, when I'm comfortable doing them. They also have a flexible monthly payment plan that lets me take any number of classes per month, mixing and matching the types and times as needed to fit my schedule. EF has a range of class difficulty levels, but I prefer the PowerBlast classes. They are a mix of strength and cardio, and after every class I truly feel like I've gained something. I also look forward to Diana's inspirational emails every few days, which usually offer great ideas for keeping off the weight, keeping up with fitness, good nutritional information, and general overall good health. I highly recommend EF.

Empowered Fitness is not your average gym. It combines indoor and outdoor workouts in a group class format -- which is a great way to enjoy our beautiful weather and not get bored -- whether the focus is cardio, strength, stretching, or all of the above. Every class has been challenging and different from the last.
EF also has a very supportive and effective nutrition / weight loss program, plus periodic training programs to help members tackle a Spartan race, half marathon or triathlon. I've participated in many of these and find them to be so much fun!
I really like that the instructors make a genuine effort to get to know each member. When I first joined 5 years ago, I had to modify some exercises while recovering from an injury so I appreciated that they were sensitive to each individual's capabilities and that they emphasized good form and fitness over all else.
There are people at all levels of fitness and the environment is supportive as opposed to competitive. This approach enables you to stay motivated and feel good about whatever extent to which you can safely push yourself.
I'm very happy with the investment I've made in restoring and improving my physical health, and I'm confident that it will pay dividends in the months and years to come. In addition, I've made many new friends at EF and I love being a part of this community!

Empowered Fitness has always been a special fitness studio, but what they have accomplished during the stay-in-place order due to COVID-19 is phenomenal. They didn't miss a beat and within no time they had live streaming and recorded fitness classes for their members. They also safely completed their Get Lean Challenge and have hosted healthy food seminars on Zoom. The combination of these offerings in diet and fitness has allowed me to lose 15 pounds during the pandemic and get completely toned - not an easy feat! Diana and Mike Inglis, as well as their trainers, are caring, encouraging and excellent fitness experts. The Empowered Fitness members are like family. I highly recommend!!

Empower Fitness is a very welcoming, caring and focused place. I appreciate that you're not just a face in the crowd of others. The trainers know you and truly advocate for your health. I do not write reviews much, but without a doubt have to let everyone and anyone reading the reviews know what a positive experience Empowered Fitness is. Never have I experienced such a FUN way to get in shape, to bond with others, to be stimulated and inspired with the greatest, fun and caring trainers ever. And although my experience is a group class, it feels like personal training at the same time. So much care and thought goes out to each one’s concern in modifying the exercise, weights, etc., if what the group is doing is not right for you. They get to know your concerns personally first class in orientation. They are ON TOP of it! With TLC like you’ve never experienced. Quite the family of life.. …..Fitness at its best. I'm a 56 year old woman who thought it was too late to get in shape. I went to a free trial at Empowered Fitness and was pleasantly surprised. My fear vanished when I met Diana and the staff at EF. They were genuinely concerned about my fitness goals and made the workouts suitable to my ability. The 1 hour classes fly by with a variety of stations where we perform certain exercises for about 3 minutes. I love the choice of 5 or six times a day when i can go. I am so happy now inside and out. Empowered Fitness is truly a one of a kind fitness studio. As an ex-collegiate runner that is used to multiple workouts a day, EF satisfies my strength and cardio needs in each and every class that I attend. They are equally fun and challenging, and despite attending class on a near regular basis, each one is unique and different from the last! I enjoy the routine of attending the PowerBLAST classes, but I also enjoy the creativity and spontaneity that is given to writing each workout to be dynamic, arduous, and entertaining all in the same hour.
I love going to Empowered not only for the workout, but because of the people that have made this studio an incredible community. The trainers are amazing. The classes are the best of both worlds in that you are put into a group dynamic when completing stations, but each trainer also makes it a point to give everyone individual attention and feedback. All of the trainers are incredible personalities- each has their own style that is motivating and makes working hard much easier than it should be. The class itself is full of some of the most incredible people that you'll ever have the pleasure of working out with.

Fun! I think that's the thing that makes any exercise routine work. It doesn't matter how good it is in other ways. For most people, if it's not fun, they won't keep doing it. And somehow Empowered Fitness has managed to really capture the fun part. :-) I wanted to say that first before going into detail because it might be the most important thing I can say about Empowered Fitness.
I love Empowered Fitness and can't say enough good things about it. When I joined in August 2012, I wasn't sure if I would like the classes or even be able to do them, because they were clearly very challenging, so I signed up for the minimum of two classes a week. Much to my surprise, I ended up loving it and now usually go three or four times a week. When I can't make it to class, I really miss it.
What's so great? Probably the most important thing is the instructors. They are knowledgeable, fun, safety conscious, and endlessly inventive. Possibly most impressive is the fact that each instructor knows every single member by name and knows who has what physical limitation, which is important so that they can help with modifications when necessary.
Weather permitting, we often do all or part of a workout outdoors. There is a huge selection of indoor equipment to enhance workout variety. Workouts are planned to work all body areas and are always a good blend of cardio and strength training.
My goals when I joined were possibly to lose a little weight but mostly to gain upper body strength, and I've succeeded in both areas. For the first time in my life I can do pushups! Probably the most important gain, however, is that my posture is better and I get far fewer backaches than I used to thanks to my improved core strength.
All these great things about EF - well, they are inspired by the owners, Diana and Mike Inglis. Yes, the instructors are amazing and fun. Yes, the studio is great. Yes, having classes outdoors is great too. And that's all thanks to Diana and Mike, because they decided which instructors to hire in the first place. They decided how to set up EF. They are there, and they set the tone. (Also, kudos to the executive assistant, Katie, for being amazingly organized and nice.)

I give Empowered Fitness the highest rating because the trainers are exceptional. The classes have people at all levels, and the combination of exercises and the modifications that they teach allow everyone to work at the level that is best for them. And more importantly, they are excellent at providing encouragement and challenges. The enthusiasm they show is genuine, and the camaraderie they foster adds to the enjoyment. I've been participating for over a year and can't wait for class each week.
I started working out with them at 58 years old. My expectations were low at this point in my life. The staff at empowered fitness has supported me through many changes, and helped me extend my expectations for my own fitness. They help me explore my edges and boundaries, and experience success every step of the way.

Empowered Fitness has rocked my world. I joined EF a mere 5 months ago and I feel so much stronger physically and mentally. The workouts are very challenging and are ever changing to make you want to come back for more. The trainers are awesome and because of the small class sizes, they are able to give you personal attention based on your fitness level. They will always encourage you to get out of your comfort zone and make new personal triumphs.
I ran my first Half Marathon in September, and without the positive support and physical training that EF provided, I would not have been able to complete this feat. I attend classes 3-4 times per week and I look forward to each and every challenging workout.

Spreading the love of the great Power Blast workouts! I love the high intensity format and that every workout includes outside time. I've been going to Empowered Fitness for over 2 years since 2011 and absolutely love it. It has become my safe haven for getting out energy and stress and an added benefit, a totally changed body! I have lost over 20 lbs and feel so much better. The workouts are cutting edge and tap into the newer trend of circuit training and cardio intervals. These are classes with music and intensity, but are station driven with teams. Sometimes competitive, sometimes work at your own pace. I never get bored and have met some incredible people. I highly recommend Empowered Fitness, especially if you live on the coastside!!

I am on my third week of empowered fitness and love it. I hadn't worked out consistently for about an year and needed the extra push and motivation! The circuits great and the hour goes by fast! I come out sweaty every time. I can already feel the change in my overall improved strength. I also love the individual attention I get when I am learning new exercises and the correction in how I do the exercise. This is exactly what I need! I look forward to improving my core and feel like the circuits and core exercises will give me the fitness I desire. I don't have a google account.. this is Bonnie Gjovig on her hubbies account.

Empowered Fitness is an awesome place to take your fitness to the next level. Diana, Mike and their team of incredible trainers support your development no matter what your fitness level is. The Power Blast classes provide a challenging full-body workout in one hour and there is always an opportunity to push harder and bring it! I have been a member for over a year and my fitness level has improved significantly. The workouts are offered at a variety of times and the offsite workouts at the beach and on the trails are a great way to workout outside and have some fun! I highly recommend EF as a great place to workout and meet a great community of people.

If you want to change your life for the better, this is the place to go. The trainers are first rate. I've been a member for more than 2 years, and I plan on being a member as long as I can. I'll be turning 50 in a couple weeks, and I'm in the best shape I've been in since my 20's. And, I've always worked out. In my 40's, I always complained about sore knees and a bad back. I've always lifted weights and ran and swam and biked, but nothing has got me in such great overall shape as Empowered Fitness. The biggest test of fitness for me is that I'm able to do day-to-day activities without being sore. I can work in my yard all day long and not be "ruined" at the end of the day. I can squat again. I can bend over without fear of throwing out my back. I can lift my kids up the stairs. Heck, I even took up skimboarding on the beach again after 35 years! The group atmosphere and trainers keep you motivated. So much so, that my wife and I have no problem waking up to attend the 5:30 am class on a regular basis. I highly, highly recommend this place. It IS that good!

I've been a client for two years, and I've never felt better. Fun (and hard!) group classes combine running, plyometrics, light weights, and cool gym equipment like TRX and the RIP Trainer. Every class is different so there is lots of variety, and you'll get a full body workout with both strength and cardio. The training staff are great - experienced, motivating, and supportive of individual needs for modifications. Love, love, love Empowered Fitness!

Love Empowered Fitness! My favorite part about working with all the trainers at EF is they know when to push and when to pull back. It seems like right about the time I am ready to give up and call it quits, a trainer walks by and says "I know you have it in you for 1 more _______ [fill in the blank with burpee, push up, curl, etc.]!" You would not get that with a video, an individual workout at a gym or any other class - I would most likely give up and not do that last 1. I also like that I have never been injured during a class with the knowledgeable staff at EF. They provide several modifications of all the exercises so you can pick one just right for you.

Empowered Fitness opened in HMB in 2011 and has become my favorite fitness studio. Although I was relatively fit from mountain biking, I was able to improve my fitness by lowering my mile pace to 7 min 34 seconds, holding a plank for 4 minutes and doing about 30 push-ups in 2 minutes.
Currently they offer a variety of classes focused on strengthening/stretching to a combo of cardio/weight training. The two attributes that set them apart are high quality trainers and a program that is always changing and never stale. The design of their classes one week will be entirely different within that week or into the next week. They also incorporate the outdoors into the workout which means we get to work out looking at our beautiful ocean.
Lastly, and the most important part is don't be self conscious about being out of shape. Empowered is inclusive and about community and helping each other. I met 11 new friends since joining 2 years ago and they are who I spend most of my time with these days besides my family.
