The gym is disgusting. The equipment is dirty and broken. Many of the machines don't work properly. A machine can be broken for two months. The air conditioning only works in the summer when it's very hot. It doesn't work at other times. I once approached a trainer named Siawash Salaar and asked if the air conditioning was working. He responded with an insolent and rude expression. Then he simply ignored me and started looking away. I'll wait until my membership expires and then I'll leave. I don't recommend going to the gym, especially to trainer Siawash Salaar.

Been a member here locally in the community for the past 8 years and Golds Gym Garden Grove has been my home gym, always loved working out here and had no complaints, good atmosphere, machines were never broken down and both the gym floor and restrooms were clean. Completely different story in the 2 weeks that EOS has taken over, dirty, gym floor a mess, weights everywhere and the restrooms are gross. Ill spare you the photos but this needs to change or you will be losing a very loyal gym family. #EosYouCanDoBetter

While there are some amazing staff members who made my experience more tolerable, I originally requested a 30-minute training session, but the trainer signed me up for a 60-minute session instead, which aggravated old injuries. I was told that as long as I continued paying my monthly dues, my personal training credits would remain active. After taking time off to recover, I later discovered that my credits had expired. I left multiple messages with no response or follow-up. When I tried reaching out to a new trainer, there seemed to be a breakdown in communication — either the trainer never received my message, or no one took responsibility. Additionally, I noticed questionable practices regarding cleanliness and sanitation during my visits.

Great gym! I don’t know what those low-raters are talking about. Concerned about bathroom being wet? Then use sandals when showering. There’s no perfect gym but for me, Golds Gym Garden Grove is well spaced, has friendly staff and offers great ample equipment and facilities. If you skip early AM workouts due to lack of discipline and end up in crowded 4-7 PM gym sessions with high schoolers and after-work folks, that’s on you. Work out early in the morning when it’s empty—it shows discipline. And that speaks volumes if you can discipline yourself to workout early.

Gym is always packed, they keep running promos for new memberships but equipment is always broken they need to upgrade the tred mills. Every other tred mill is broken. Imagine during prime time. Absolutely disgusting. The restrooms at this Gold’s Gym are filthy beyond belief. The smell hits you as soon as you walk in, the floors are sticky and wet, and the toilets look like they haven’t been cleaned in ages. Mold, grime, and trash everywhere — it feels more like a gas station bathroom on the side of the highway than a gym that charges members a premium fee.

It’s embarrassing for a brand like Gold’s Gym to let their facilities get this bad. If management can’t even keep the restrooms sanitary, what does that say about the rest of the place? Members deserve way better than this.

This gym overall could be great, it’s not. This is primarily due to terrible gym member etiquette, general restroom, and equipment maintenance. It is the worst kept Golds gym or any gym I’ve seen in 35 years. Dumb bells from the main rack a scatter every where, or not returned to the “clearly label” location. To the broken leg press machine that has been down for 3 months. Then there at the members that think it ok to hoag the other leg press machine for 30 minutes while filming them selves.

I’ve spoken with the area manager, and he promises to hire someone. That was a month ago.

Instead of waiting for someone how about picking up some tools,parts and fix it!

I’ve got a family membership and it’s not cheap, but this gym feels cheap.

I’ll update this when things change.

Im an out of town guest....the day pass is $40/day.....way too much for a good, but basic gym....there's a crunch down the road thats probably more like $20/day and 24 fitness close that I know is cheaper per day....Golds is proud of their name....been a couple days and I got an email with an offer to get a membership of $22/month and today, 7/23/25, got a call from a sales guy with the club who agreed with me that $40/day for one workout is insane....hard pass on Golds Gym for this meathead....keep your hoodies and such too

Weight machines with broken knobs are never inspected and repaired. Broken equipment took forever to repair.

One shower room doesn't have any water running and the next shower room has water leakage 24 /24 hours for at least 3 months. I talked with at least two staff members and they said they would tell management to fix it. Today (6/19/2025) the shower still cannot be turned off. Garden Grove city should give this location a citation for not fixing the shower leakage for over 3 months

Front desk staff, although well meaning, are not always the most helpful and they sound like robots when trying to explain the root issue in either billing or why they cannot seem to resolve membership disputes.

The entire gym constantly has equipment that is tagged for repair and is out of order for weeks. Workout floor is always messy and members do not re-rack weights.

Also be prepared to wait several minutes before having any machine available. The younger gym crowd doesn’t always have the best gym etiquette, I’ve seen several people standing around one machine for up to 20 minutes at a time.

Positives: plenty of parking around even during peak hours, outdoor pool and Decent locker rooms (women’s) they finally fixed up their stairmasters and new turf area and they have lots more squat racks and platforms now.

Hope to see this gym come back to life with better management and a team that actually gives a damn about members and not just membership money!

This Gold's Gym pool does not have a weekly or biweekly cleaning routine. The manager was dodging the answers... As the same for the new staffs when I was inquiring about how dirty and mold-like in the pool. They have turned off the pumps, heaters and lights for the last 3 consecutive weeks. We feel sad after signing up for the memberships.
They need to have a new manager to upkeep this facility though. I will upload the pool condition images next time.

I was not intending to take BodyTone. Unfortunately for this plan, class instructor Nicholas Castro made the exercises *seem* extremely doable and fun until ... they were. His professionally pretending that they're difficult for him had me in stitches long enough to keep coming back. Form malfunctions from amateurs must pain fitness personnel to no end and he is unfailingly generous in helpful adjustments and encouragements to get the most from the workout while remaining bodily intact.

Started w: the lies & pushy sales tactics & then put me on hold for over 29 minutes waiting for a manager to pick up. I have major anxiety. It's taken me 2 months to even reach out to another gym after 24/7 pulled much worse on me. I really wanted to train at Golds. I didn't even know they were still around until I was up here in LA. It was the 1st gym my dad ever trained me at. My first gym T-shirt. He just passed away. It would be a really awesome way to remember him. I just lost my mom a few months ago. Been reaching out so he can explain and fix this issue and he is constantly avoiding my calls. Have gotten nowhere with the front desk either. Seems like they are covering for him. Constantly say he's in the bathroom or with someone. Ask for my info so he can call me back and he never does. Be careful!
