I really disliked my experience here, especially with Veronica. When I tried to get a 1 day pass for $30, she aggressively mocked me with a disgusted look, saying “you’d rather pay $30 than $1 monthly pass?” Um yes, Veronica, maybe learn how to do sales instead of intimidating your customers and scamming them

Think about why they aggressively push you for the “$1 deal” and read other people’s experiences. It’s all a scam. They say you can just call to cancel, but there’s so many other stipulations you have to follow. Even when you do, they’ll delay their process on purpose so you’re forced to pay the monthly fee after the grace period. This is predatory.

Aside from that, the space is not well maintained. It’s dark, musty, and really dirty. The entire process was unfriendly and unwelcoming compared to other gyms in the area

EDIT: On 15 November, I was contacted by EOS District Training Manager who informed me that she was able to resolve both of my issues. As frustrating as this process has been, I am very grateful to her for her help. It speaks well to her leadership abilities and commitment to her job that she called to speak to me. Again, I am very appreciative of her help.

I'd purchased a 12-week training program. I made the last payment on this program on 24 October., $324, fulfilling the $1944 total that I had agreed to when I signed my program contract on 15 August. On 31 October, I explained to an eos associate at the Arcadia Gym named, that since my original trainer suddenly quit, I no longer wished to continue my training program. I explained that I did not want to work with another trainer and that I just wanted to terminate the sessions. She said she understood. I left thinking that I had successfully terminated my training program. On 07 November, however, I was charged another $324 for 4 more sessions that I do not want. On 08 November, I spoke to the training manager, to ask that she make sure my training sessions be terminated and refund the $324 charged on 07 November. She said she cannot process the refund and that she would have to ask her district manager. I expect this refund. I should not have to pay $324 because their associates do not know how to follow through on a customer's request. I also think it is an example of poor customer service that they do not have someone on-site who is authorized to process refunds when one of their employees makes a mistake. I have filed to refund requests through the EOS customer service site but have to receive any response to my inquiry. On 13 November, she stated that I was supposed to have given them 10-days notice prior to the termination of Service Agreement. This was not explained to me on 15 August when I signed the contract, nor on 31 October when I went to cancel the Agreement in person.

One of my cycling training took place here and I drove from San Diego to the gym for the whole weekend and the womans restroom was not clean and very disappointing. The showers were broken, floors dirty, toilet worse didnt work well. The elevator didnt work and this location upstairs. The only great thing was food court near and employees were okay! Not great customer service

Horrible gym horrible staff, the staff breaks all kinds of harassment HIPPA and OSHA laws and policies they are supposed to follow the staff at this location needs to be investigated and fired from the front desk staff to the cleaning/maintenance crew.. this gym gets more dirty, dust is everywhere. Not as good as a few(3) years ago. Not sure if the management has changed, because I notice people are less than before, few of my friends left here to other gyms, 3 out of 6 water faucets not working properly. It used to be a mid to high-end clean club. Not anymore sadly =(
they used to provide towels and disinfectant, paper towels are full,(now paper towel often not refilled), some employees stood there as if a statue or chatting with each other. All biz goes downhill because of bad management. Hope someone do a better job to manage this gym.

Watch out for gym salespeople upselling their PT packages and whey products!!! Make sure you read the fine prints and don't let them influence you to buy in any packages. Try out one class first before purchasing it. I had a circumstance where I'm moving and they won't refund me the remainder of my PT classes that I won't be using. It's like $900 worth of pt classes. Not even a partial refund bc I've already used 1 class in the package. My options were to transfer it to a friend w an active membership or cancel my membership and pt package.

When I decided to transfer my classes to another gym member, it's taking a long time to complete the transfer and cancel the membership. I thought they can do the transfer over phone and they will take care of it after writing an authorization statement for the transfer. But they sent me a link to register and manage the membership on my own. It was a really confusing process just to do the transfer and close my account.

Their service wasn't helpful at all and I highly recommend you reconsider this gym before purchasing. There are lots of other chain gyms out there with more flexible policy and much helpful services.

My first experience at Gold’s in Arcadia:

The first machine was broken (butterfly). No warning sign and no caution tape around it. The second was the benchpress, which was crooked about 5inches where you place the barbell. The 3rd was an incline benchpress, the seat was held up by a 45lb plate. So I went to a standard adjustable bench and couldn’t adjust it because the pin was broken.

I kid you not…

So I worked on legs.

My first experience was quit unpleasant. I don’t understand why there’s no tape or signs on these machines. Or them simply being fixed.

As a new member, It’s kind of embarrassing for a gym to have this many machines broken.

I hope to see them fixed next time.

I visited this Gold’s Gym today to try a free pass, as I had a membership over a year ago at a different location in another state. I registered for the pass online, but when I arrived, the front desk person seemed confused.

A staff member (bald guy) then offered to show me around but mentioned that since I had a past membership, I technically wasn’t eligible for the pass—though he would “let me.” I had never been to this specific location and was simply looking to see if it would be a good fit. When he asked about my experience at my previous Gold’s Gym, I mentioned I just wanted to work out quickly rather than take a tour. At that point, he told me that because I declined the tour, I could no longer use the free pass.

I found this policy unreasonable and unhelpful. Typically, gyms allow free passes without requiring a tour. If a tour is mandatory, that should be made clear upfront. Overall, the experience left a bad impression, and I won’t be returning.

The gym has a decent selection of equipment and a clean, well-maintained environment. There’s a good variety of cardio machines and free weights, but the availability of benches and Smith machines is quite limited.
During peak hours, you may have to wait to use them, which can be frustrating. The staff is friendly, and the overall atmosphere is motivating, but adding more benches and Smith machines would improve the experience.

Gold’s Gym Arcadia: The Worst Customer Service Experience

It happened on a weekend, and to be honest, I didn’t know the gym closed at 7 PM on weekends.

I arrived at the gym around 6:30 PM, changed, left my backpack in a locker, turned up the music in my headphones, and started warming up.

As I was doing my first set of the second exercise, an employee approached me and said something. It turned out he was informing me that “the gym is closing in a minute.” I was surprised since there were still other people working out.

I decided to quickly finish another set and leave. However, as I was doing my last reps, the front desk employee came back and repeated that the gym was closed. I grabbed my water bottle and headed toward the locker room.

At the entrance to the locker room, the employee pointed to the exit and told me to leave. I took out my headphones and asked what he wanted. He once again gestured toward the exit and told me to go there.

I explained that I needed to get my belongings from my locker. He still insisted I leave. Shocked, I asked if I was supposed to just leave my things in the gym. To this, he repeated that they were closed.

There were still other people in the locker room, and I was not the last person in the gym. I grabbed my backpack and, without changing, headed for the exit.

When I saw this employee again at the front desk, I told him that he had no right to speak to customers this way. This is where it got even more ridiculous: the employee, threatening to cancel my membership, demanded my name and last name.

I told him I would only speak to the manager because his behavior was completely inappropriate. He continued to threaten me. I demanded the manager’s contact information, but he refused to provide it. He even threatened to call the police.

I calmly told him that he could do whatever he wanted, but what exactly would he tell the police? I asked for the manager’s phone number or email several times, but he claimed the manager was “on vacation” and once again threatened to cancel my membership.

At some point, I realized I was just wasting my time and energy with this person. The employee’s name is Nathan Quevedo (customer service representative).

I will cancel my membership myself and demand compensation because this gym completely demotivates me from working out.

I’ve been to almost every Gold’s Gym location, and the friendliest and most professional staff is at Gold’s Gym Hollywood. Why can’t all the gyms be like that?

Gold’s Gym Arcadia is a disaster. Constant problems. Once, they even brought my friend to tears! This is the worst gym, and I strongly recommend avoiding it.

Been working out here for a while, it was a really convient gym as I work at the mall. The hours are great and I got a really good deal on the membership. I pay less than what I paid at 24/hr and still get all the same perks. Only wish the location had massage chairs as that was my main incentive for going to this gym. I should have done my research better prior. Locations are very spread out the next closes are West Covina and Glendale which isn’t worth the drive for me. Other than that I only have good things to say. Staff is helpful and friendly and always greet me on my way in. The gym is very clean and not as crowded as 24/hr despite being smaller. I also really appreciate the strict dress code and conduct guidelines as at 24/hr I would see things I did not wish to see and feel uncomfortable. Their classes are really great and they have a large selection. Since my plan includes classes I can pick which ones I like that fit my schedule that day or just so a solo workout. When you go in for your first time you get a whole tour. Heads up the BMI check and the personal trainer free session is where they really try to sell you on things so I just kindly declined both. As far as workout options they have a great selection for cardio and weights. The stretching area outside of the studio is a bit small though. Bonus is that I can plan to use the studio room when it’s open for stretches. The cinema room is really cool aswell, you can watch a movie or a game in this theater esc cycle room. Locker rooms are always very clean, super appreciated! So far my favorite gym after being a member to both la fitness and 24 hour. Biggest improvement over all would definitely be the cleanliness factor.

Girl with the braids at the front desk during the morning shift is not only rude but passive aggressive. I’m constantly ignored when trying to check in. She’ll pretend the phone is ringing, pick it up then leave and someone else has to help me. I don’t know what her issue is but this happens almost every time I come in. Every other associate there is always helpful, it is only her. She needs an attitude check. I’ve also scrolled down the reviews and see I’m not the first to complain about her. I hope management sees this and addresses the issue and possibly re train her on how to be a civilized human being.

I enjoy Friday night zumba, the instructor makes the class fun, she changes the set up of the class before each song, she has a creative fun dance step to each song. Yoga classes are great! A good stretch does the body good. Gold's Gym is one of the few gyms with the precor stretch and the safety straps still installed, which is helpful.
My dislike, they change staff often

My complaint is for Azaliah at the Arcadia, CA location.

I’ve been a member with Gold’s Gym since 2021, even having referred 4 different people to join. Because of this, I was offered the 3-year no payment promotion: “Refer 3 people, get 3 years free.” Unbeknownst to me, that 3 years has been up for the past 15 days. I showed up to the Arcadia location 5 AM this morning (November 13th, 2024) and was told by Azaliah that I would NOT be able to get in because I owed $70 (mind you, my monthly bill was always $19.99 before the promotion). Aside from the fact that this amount was so high, I did not have time to get into the details of the fees and was not going to pay it until I can get those details at a later time - again, it’s 5 AM. Still, after explaining to her the promotion I was on, not having received ANY sort of notification beforehand, and it being 5 in the morning, she was completely apathetic, impassive, and impolite. My loyalty to the gym was not taken into account - instead, I was treated as if I was someone who would not follow up later and make the proper payment. She also claimed that I did receive notification, yet, she had nothing to prove this. I definitely get the birthday emails - nothing else regarding upcoming payments or the expiring of my promo. No missed calls or voicemails or texts. Aside from the lack of communication on their part, she could not grant me 1 hour to work out, considering the time of day and my loyalty to the gym.

With Azaliah’s name involved in repeated customer complaints and 1-star reviews, I find it alarming that she’s the manager and there’s no one else to speak to other than her. I think it’s only fair that my membership be reinstated, at no cost to me.

Had to cancel my membership after being with them for so long. It’s ridiculous that a 13 year old can’t come in with adult supervision but they can open up a membership for 13 year olds. Changing back to 24 where they allow both.

My instructor Maria for spin class is wonderful. She brings so much energy. That she makes everyone feel like they can make it through the whole hour. You always leave with high energy and you feel great and you’re so happy you made it to the gym and took that class. You can’t wait for the next Saturday.

After driving an hour, was told the trial pass was not available because I did not have a CA ID. I explained that it does not say that anywhere online, but they didn’t care. Maybe they will be honest online about their policies in the future.

Great Gym! Amazing atmosphere!! If you attend this gym you'll be greated by amazing trainers, every staff member works hard to allow everyday operations to run smoothly ,led by an amazing efficient hardworking management team. Special shout-out to Azaliah , she serves as Manager on duty. She needs to be a Manager ASAP! Great customer service, super kind, her spirit resonates throughout the entire gym. Everytime I walk in the gym she greets me and makes me feel comfortable being at the gym .She is adored and appreciated by many! I've attended for about 5 months, by far this is the best gym in town. Golds Gym in Arcadia!!! Get a membership ASAP!! Thank you for allowing me to challenge myself physically mentally and spiritually! The body of a Lion is coming! Thanks to you all!

Some nuisance stalker type was promptly removed from the gym after someone called both security and police. She was a distraction so it was great that the situation was handled with urgency and care.
