Aside from the gross facilities and the terrible parking situation they have, just beware that their management/sales team will also force you into a financial emergency.

Last year one of their reps, Errol, signed me up for a "free" personal training session without explaining that what I was ACTUALLY signing for wasn't a free session but instead a program that would automatically charge my account something like $90 every two weeks. Frustrated that my initial sign up (also through Errol) felt pressured, I asked him to please cancel everything.

Errol told me that he had "cancelled" my membership but that the ONLY way out of the automatic drafts for the personal training is to block Eos from my bank account and to just ignore any calls I would get about an outstanding balance. Reassuring me that I'd be fine (having apparently done this before).

Trust me, I realize how naive I was here. However, it's been a year since I thought my membership was cancelled or since having even stepped foot inside that gym and I recently spoke with a collections agent saying that I owe $1,100 by next week or they will be reporting it to the credit bureaus.

So yeah, I advise checking out some of the other amazing gyms San Diego has to offer.

Solid gym. Literal 24hrs. & Price is what makes this place great. Only major issue i have w/this place is their Bathroom/Cleaning Staff. Their Bathroom accessibility are off from 10p.m. to 1 a.m if not potentially Later every night. Came to workout right now & use the restroom & now i am leaving as i just arrived due to it being closed off for HOURS , Again. Either take a piss in the lot if you're a guy or hit 7-11 or one the fast food restaurants Bathrooms in the area, this gyms Bathroom accessibility is a 100% No Go from 10 p.m. to later ( several Hours +)

OK, I was not gonna write a review but unfortunately I have to. I signed up for the free seven day trial. I checked in and I advised them when they called me that I DID NOT want a tour of the facility and I just wanted to go there, work out and see things for myself. They did not respect that and I was forced to wait in the lobby for a sales associate and the sales associate did the mandatory tour around the gym, etc. the associate who took me for the tour was not my problem, but the fact that it’s mandatory or else you can’t do the free trial is ridiculous.

After the tour they then sit you down like you’re about to buy a car from them and they go over your goals, etc. Which again I understand they’re trying to make a sale and get a membership, but almost 2 hours of my time was taken up before I was even allowed to go use the facility as I intended. Andre, I’m sorry to say he is extremely intense and I was asking about personal training and they showed me the figures and I’ve never paid that much for personal training and I have no interest in doing so.

I felt so pressured to get a membership that I simply advised them that I would not be able to buy one until Wednesday when I get paid.

So, this is just a warning if you sign up for the seven day free trial they will not actually let you use a free trial and they want you to purchase a membership before even using the facility on your own and they will give you an attitude if you don’t purchase a membership.

So really there’s no free trial, its you come in and they force a membership onto you and that’s one of the reasons I won’t be returning to this gym. The first reason being though, is the fact that parking is absolutely chaotic.
It’s way too crowded and you have to park in a garage with homeless people who are just hanging out around all the vehicles.

Secondly, I just felt so much pressure and wasn’t allowed to use the facility the way that I wanted to and too much of my time was taken up for absolutely no reason and thirdly I should never feel that amount of pressure when I want to utilize a free trial.

I think it’s poor marketing and quite frankly it’s not accurate and they just need to take it away if they don’t want people to use their facility for free.

Disappointing Experience

I regret to say that my experience at EōS Fitness has been quite disappointing. The cleanliness of the restrooms leaves much to be desired, and despite raising the issue, there hasn't been noticeable improvement.

Moreover, there seems to be a lack of enforcement regarding proper footwear in the sauna and steam room areas, creating an uncomfortable and potentially unsafe environment.

What's even more frustrating is the lack of transparency during my transfer from UFC Fit. I incurred maintenance fees at UFC and un late fees at EōS in the same month without prior notice. Despite addressing this, I have yet to receive a refund.

I hope these concerns are addressed promptly to enhance the overall experience for gym members.

My recent experience at EōS Fitness was marred by an unfortunate encounter with the manager. I found their demeanor to be surprisingly rude, which significantly impacted my overall impression of the gym. A more courteous and respectful approach from management would undoubtedly contribute to a more positive atmosphere for all members. Especially for members who didn’t know they’re being transferred to a low rated gym.

The gym itself is overall very spacious, and a good environment. There are many machines and activates to do. Although, I misplaced my keys in the theatre room, then proceeded to move to another task. It wasn’t until about ten minutes later I realized I didn’t have my keys. My first instinct was to ask the front desk. After them telling me they did not have them I re traced my steps about 5 times as well as going out to my car. Feeling embarrassed and frustrated I asked the front desk another time. A young Asian woman was very helpful and genuinely did not see anyone turn in my keys. Yet a young lady with curly hair, not sure of her name had my keys the whole time. Not until searching multiple times she handed me my keys with an attitude. This gym is very nice but I deserve to be respected and given my things within first notice. Mistakes happen, and that’s ok. A little kindness goes a long way.

As other reviewers have mentioned beware when signing up that they will aggressively sell you on their PT program. The Manager gave me a two month option that I agreed to only to find out he signed me up for four months when I received my contract in my email.

Per the contract you have 3 business days to cancel for any reason. It was easy to cancel it through the PT service section of the EOS website. (Just google it and it pops up). Otherwise I hear it’s a nightmare to cancel after 3 days.

The gym seemed nice, and the actual workers seemed nice but unfortunately due to the bait and switch the manager pulled I canceled my mentorship quickly.

Welcome to the jungle! This gym has everything you could need to get a great workout and so much more. Whether you can find matching dumbbells, kettlebells, plates, or cable attachments is another story. Almost no one re-racks or puts things back appropriately. Chaos is 👑 here. Its also filthy so bring your own towels to wipe stuff down & shower shoes. Don't forget a lock 🔒! "For society to progress, we should not only move forward but also clean up after ourselves." Great place to pump iron, out door section is pretty cool. Lots of weights and options, lacks cardio machines but not too bad. The worst part about this gym is definitely the restrooms, the first time I went to use one of the showers was the last time. The smell was horrendous, along with the floors, I felt like if I spent more then 1 minute in there i would need to get treated for a staff infection. Overall it's a great gym just doesn't have a restroom so make sure to use yours before you leave the house or plan on returning home to shower.

CONS

Safety: The emergency exit door in the recovery room doesn’t work 99% of the time. Never works during night hours which is a HUGE safety concern. The parking lot has displaced people unfortunately usually on drugs in the stairwells so beware when visiting during less busy hours. Lock your car! Don’t bother using the elevator there’s usually human feces there.

Equipment: It’s a 50/50 whether the massage chairs will work. Half the treadmills in movie cinema are usually not working. People here don’t know how to put their equipment back or clean up after themselves—nothing the staff can do about unclean guests. It would just be nicer if regular maintenance was dedicated considering the monthly price tag. The pool water usually has an oil sheen on it and looks unclean. As a swimmer this really makes the $30 monthly price for these amenities really not worth staying at this gym in the long term.

Bathrooms/showers: like many other reviewers have mentioned. They’re nasty, wear flip flops that won’t touch anything else but this floor and you’ll be ok. Just walk over the piles of hair and breathe thru your mouth to not get that sewer smell in your nose. I get that the cleaning staff are doing what they can, it’s a busy gym. Some stall doors don’t lock.

Sales: don’t feel pressured to sign any contracts. They act like you’re getting the deal of a lifetime lol, I get it’s their job. I only signed up for the membership due to having been to 2 other significantly better locations that I have no problem driving an hour to get to. If SD is the only location you’re going to…think twice.

Pros: There’s some awesome people you can learn a lot from by watching their work outs! Made of freakin steel.

Highly recommend visiting the San Clemente location in Orange County. The Ladera Ranch one in OC is ok. The one in Winchester Ave near Perris is probably the best EOS ive ever been to. Wonderful build the peach class there!

DO NOT SIGN UP!!! The staff is really pushy about getting you to upgrade your membership or buy their extra products. you cant go into the gym without being stopped by staff trying to sell you something extra.

I had the membership with the fitness classes and they werent very helpful in terms of content or times offered. Downgrading of course however was an extra $50 charge and a month of waiting for the membership to actually switch over. Plus the service is AWFUL! Don't even bother trying to call them. Staff will tell you that they need to speak with their manager first but call you back soon. They will not. After expressing I was unhappy with the services at EoS, one guy literally just hung up on me. Very rude.

PARKING SUCKS! Lots of folks park in the Target parking lot across the street and walk into EoS. That might work for some people but Target also tows cars if they catch you not shopping at their complex. Gym is crowded and cleanliness is at 6/10.

TLDR:
- pushy staff
- fitness classes are mid
- poor service
- no parking
- crowded

First time to this location and was pretty disgusted by the lack of cleanliness. I was going to do stretches on their 'turf' indoors before leaving and practically jumped back up when I saw the layers of hair EVERYWHERE! This is not an amount that was left anytime recently, very obviously unkempt for an extended amount of time. Showers are the same, they have you hoping you don't lose your balance and have to even touch a wall with any body part. Super ick

This gym has some good qualities.
1) They have a good selection of well maintained equipment.
2) They have saunas, pools, massage chairs, and outdoor workout area with machines, classes and a parking garage.
There some things that need to be improved.
1) The machines are always too busy.
2) The gym and sauna are dirty. A gym this size should have constant cleaning going on. A dirty gym can post significant health risks to its members such as infections and other illnesses.
3) The parking garage frequently has homeless people hanging out and prowling the cars.

The only reason I keep going is because I love the classes with amazing teachers Claudia Berteli and Vanessa Ingram.
I would love to use the machines and weights if they were not too busy.
I love using a sauna too, but I am afraid of disease there.

Update:
Almost immediately after posting this review, a manager contacted me for suggestions on how to improve. After traveling for some time, I was pleasantly surprised to find the parking garage was much cleaner, and there are now separate saunas for men and women. In addition, the gym is generally cleaner as well.
My thanks to the manager for listening to my concerns and taking action to make improvements.

I decided to go to this gym because of the price point. Like the saying goes. You get what you pay for. At the Point Loma location this gym is constantly dirty. Everyone you enter the locker room the smell knocks you in the face so hard it makes you not want to use it. On the positive side the outside workout area is huge and you’re able to workout shirtless. My biggest problem with this gym is after I canceled my membership (sent an email, and then a follow up email requesting cancellation) The gym acknowledged receipt and advised it would be close. Now I’m getting random text messages saying I owe $148.98 for what? Gym is like $20-$30 a month. I do not recommend this gym because of the cancellation process. I did have to pay for a whole other month after I sent my original email. Now got a bill for almost $150. No thank you @EOS

I retired June 2024. Not two weeks later I pulled a calf muscle (not in as good a shape as I thought I was). It was 5 weeks before I could get physical therapy so I Joined EOS San Diego because they have a lap and therapy pool. Walking in with two canes, the staff recommended a physical trainer. It was my good fortune to get Trainer Sean Luck. After two sessions with Sean, I was walking without a cane! It has been a year training with Sean, and I have more balance, I'm stronger, and more fit than I have been in years. The facility, the variety of classes and equipment exceed my expectation. Most of all, the friendly and helpful staff of professionals is the key to EOS. Thank you, Sean, you are the best! Thank you, EOS San Diego management and trainers!

This place is a complete scam. It shouldn't be an unusual or difficult request to get 1 month membership in a city that has a lot of seasonal residents. I was even happy to pay the annual fee. I bought a personal training system from Buddy, who broke some rules to get the most money out of me possible (verified with San diego location that what they did was against policy) and I'm STILL dealing with these thieves. Go literally anywhere else.

SCAM ALERT!!!!
Update: the below person who tells you to email does not respond and I have been charged for my cancelled membership for three months even after I received confirmation of cancellation… this place is disgusting!!!

SCAM ALERT!! be careful with signing up for this gym!! I can not stress enough on how shady their sales team is. They will lie to your face about what you are signing up for and pressure you into signing up for things. All of a sudden I was in a 4 month binding contract for personal training that I verbally told them I had no interest in signing up for multiple time. They will then not allow you to cancel the PT since you signed their contract even though they lie in order to mislead you when explaining what you are signing up for. It is an awful way to run a business, and the gym is disgusting. I will not be returning and I strongly encourage anyone looking for a gym to go somewhere that values and respects their customers.

I am taking legal action because it is illegal in CA to mislead consumers. It’s is violating and disgusting. I am telling everyone I meet how awful this gym is and please warn people as well. If you look at their reviews you can see this is a constant scam they pull. It is disgusting.

Even despite the pros, it’s still 1 star for its lack of accountability and follow through/up.

Pros:
-Tons of machines
-Friendly front desk
-Access to massage chairs & cryobeds
-Low mmbrship prices

Cons:
-Nearly all machines are old, outdated, rusty and peeling
-You have a 3 day cancellation window in the contract that they do not honor
-The Manager Mario is nice when you talk to him but lacks accountability & follow through
-> I had to follow up three times after cancelling within the third day of my membership to ensure they wouldn’t charge me the 90$ yearly facilities fee a month after my cancellation. Not only did he not fully cancel my account when he claimed he did, he also did not follow up with me to confirm my account was cancelled & I won’t be charged the facilities fee when I noticed I was still receiving texts from the gym post-first call to cancel.
- For the second-call following up, the front desk was nice but the second I told him I wasn’t making it up that I actually did cancel my account with Mario over the phone, but there was no record of anything left behind after my call with Mario. He must've erased my inquiry to cancel, after reflecting on it. This front desk guy said he'd be right back and he literally handed the phone to another front desk associate. LOL, this guy couldn't handle the most minor issue. I unfortunately did not remember his name.
- The third time I called the support number that manages all the gym memberships through an online portal and they told me I needed to reach out to the gym manager, who evidently was not prioritizing my concern.
- Today 07/18 I was charged their facility fee when I haven’t been in the gym since 06/21, the day I cancelled.

07/25 - I’m still repeatedly getting emails from them, including late fees for their facilities fee that I repeatedly followed up regarding to ensure I wouldn’t be charged for it since I already canceled, showing me they never handled my request to cancel even despite the multiple follow ups. So ridiculously annoying and unprofessional. Had no idea signing up for their scammy 1$ membership would turn into this whole hassle when cancelling.

08/02 - Still getting marketing messages from them. I come back to check the reviews & was astonished that somehow they’re maintaining 4 stars, and COME TO FIND OUT they are literally bribing members with a free eos branded shirt only if they gave eos a 5 star review. Ummm, anyone looking for a new gym, do you due diligence by reading the bad reviews. Usually one would expect they’re all from a bunch of karen’s, but a majority of them are men pointing out how filthy everything is as well as their deceptive marketing practices.

Due to poor management, outdated machines, and performatively nice and unhelpful front desk staff, I would recommend investing your money in FitAthletic who has newer machines & multiple locations that uphold their standards with transparency & proper accountability.

As i arrived i had to make a uturn.
You would think its out in the open .
Once i arrived i was skeptical on the parking but once i realize its a whole parking stricture, thought it was interesting. When i got out it reaked with the smell of piss.
The whole floor has no saving. Since i was committed , i made my way to the gym .As i walked closer ,I noticed they have an outdoor gym thats still available after 8pm .as I open the door i noticed a lady and a gentleman. I wasnt sure if she was helping him or not. So i interfere and asked if i can do so. She immediately thought i was checking in. I took my id and tried to show her my new email.she mentioned i had to show up before 8pm since they couldnt sign me in. I just wanted to try some weights and take a look. she seem hesitant on what to do so I asked if I could work out. she mentioned how the people that sign in the free week pass leaves at 8 but she can get me a day pass thats for 20$.i refused and left . My intention, see the comparison of my current gym and this one.
Turns out if you want a free week pass you have to show up before 8 pm . All though its a 24/7 gym.
The parking lot did not give me a feel of cleanliness.
The front seem semi clean.
Ill stick with my gym .thank you

If you wipe down equipment here, you’re the odd one out. Most disgusting gym I’ve ever seen, from bathrooms to floors to equipment. They’ve broken terms of my contract in the first two weeks of the membership, but refuse to allow me to cancel before paying the yearly fee. Better Business Bureau complaint filed as of today. Honor your contracts.

Gets crowded during the weekdays so I prefer to come on weekends. Apart from one of the front desk male workers with a stupid haircut who acts like I’m invisible, every employee here is chill and professional. The parking structure can fill up but I’ve never had to fight or drive in circles to find a spot. And their movie room is pretty cool.

The pool area and the itself was the most dirty and disgusting ever! And the sauna was the worse. I’m definitely not going back

Good gym, week pass for visitors only $35. Front desk was helpful, they tried to push an only membership even after I explained I was from out of town. Website advertises 7 day free pass, but that is only for those seeking permanent membership. The gym itself is clean and well equipped. It would be nice if they offered towels, but the inside/outside structure flows well

The best gym near the greater Midtown area. Amenities includes: A sauna, the pool, the recovery room (love me some compression pants!), multiple outdoor equipment areas, locker rooms, and loving support of the EOS staff members

Swimming pool needs the bottom resurfaced. Collects mold and other bad bacteria. Should also be a salt water pool instead of chlorine which is bad for you. Showers are filthy.

The membership prices are affordable, and the gym is spacious with both indoor and outdoor workout areas, which is a plus. However, overall cleanliness is a major issue. The pool area, floors, and restrooms are not well-maintained and feel neglected. Staff seem uninterested and unresponsive. I once forgot my swim shorts, left to grab them, and when I returned, I was told to scan the QR code again. Even though it was clear I had just entered, they insisted. It felt like a lack of basic trust toward customers. A little more respect and flexibility would go a long way. The equipment variety is decent, but the facility needs much more attention and care. If they focused more on hygiene and customer experience, this gym could be great but right now, it falls short. The QR code scanner has a hard time reading from my smartwatch. This system definitely needs improvement. I hope you clean the pool floor at some point.

Mike and her set the tone of how the rest of my time here would be. They are always energetic and positive, making coming here the best experience everytime!

There are two factors that make a gym good in my opinion, cleanliness and convenience. EOS gym has neither. To start, I came in for a 7 day free pass. I waited in the lobby for a “sales associate” to talk to me. I tried to refuse this meeting but was told it was mandatory. The only alternative would’ve been to purchase a $20 day pass. After waiting 30 mins in the lobby, I met with the staff where I was told I was not eligible for a pass since I am not a San Diego resident. He ended up showing me some mercy, since I waited so long and allowed me to workout for free. I am so glad I did not pay because this is the dirtiest gym I have ever been to. The stair masters were covered in a thick layer of soot and slime and smelt horrible. Dumbbells and EZ bars were sticky and smelt funky. The floors had clumps of hair and the turf was obviously not clean. I decided to check out the sauna which was unhealthy. The seats were made of plastic, not your typical cedar sauna. The seats had black soot lodged in between the cracks, the same stuff found in the tiles of a 7/11 bathroom. Not to mention the smell. Everywhere I went around this gym I was greeted by a new smell. This place should be studied by a microbiologist. I was horrified.

Considering this is a very busy 24/7 gym, there needs to be a more consistent effort to clean this place. It is much easier to maintain the cleanliness than to let it get to this deplorable condition. It is very likely the cleaners are overwhelmed by the filth and cannot tackle all of this. I would recommend starting with a deep clean to reset then 2x daily maintenance cleanings.

This is the place to be! The staff is super helpful and there are plenty of workout stations inside and outside; so, you don't have to wait in line for your desired workout equipment. As a plus they have a cardio theater where you can use the treadmills, ellipticals, and stair steppers. They do a lot of outreach to the unhoused community as well.
