I really like the facility— all the gym equipment is well maintained and in good condition. While management does a great job upholding their responsibilities, I believe members should also take responsibility in helping maintain the facility.

Called to set up a tour and a workout today so I can decide if joining this gym is worth the monthly cost. Manager over the phone was not friendly, wouldn’t let me workout the same day I tour saying I’d have to come back another day, immediately offered other gym options as if I’m not worthy of their gym while simultaneously belittling the other gyms nearby. Unprofessional, rude, and incredibly off putting to be considered a “high class” gym. I’ll be looking elsewhere!

I train two to three times a week with Elamae and have never felt more comfortable in a gym setting. She keeps me motivated, pushes me to improve, and helps me become the best version of myself both in and out of the gym. If you are looking for a trainer, I highly recommend asking for Elamae!

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Equinox gym since joining last year. Staff always helpful and enthusiastic, gym well supplied and clean, classes are fun! Have been working with trainer Elamae Aquino who was stellar in her skills and knowledge about fitness and nutrition. Such a positive, well informed, and caring person. She guided and encouraged me to implement changes to my health and exercise routine, giving helpful educated direction, text reminders, leading encouraging and clear instructional workouts. She was integral to advancing my fitness journey- I feel lucky to have the opportunity to work with her! Cant recommend Equinox- and trainer Elamae- enough!

I've been going here now for almost 2 years and I'd honestly never be able to go anywhere else. I LOVE everyone who works here - the trainers + maintenance team + front staff + sales reps. They treat me exceptionally well.

Always clean, and not super busy in the mornings so it's extremely rare I ever have to wait for any machine. LOVE the pilates classes.

Most awful customer service . I went to this location to join and met the sales person named Christian. He is very rude right from the begining. No greetings sort of. When I inquired about payment , he started judging by asking if I am going to pay with Amex platinum. He kept calling I was using loophole while Amex platinum offers it as a benefit and market accordingly .I asked him to taunt me. At that point he could not control himself and keep taunting me .I just took the manager card and i am going to reach out to her.

They are not regular gyms and charge extremely high. I would expect good customer service if not great. Seems like it's run by people coming from rough neighborhood. I would strongly recommend to avoid this location.

I make the drive the 15 mins drive because of their impeccable and kind customer service. Facility is clean. Patrons are nice and polite. Classes and teachers are amazing and not prescribed (like some gyms, lifetime). I had to get used to the parking, but I now I know where to park, and there's always parking. I recommend this place over bay club (member for over 10 years) and Lifetime (was a member for a year and left due to the worst customer service ever. I won't even step in there!).

This place has deceptive membership practices, and they will lead you to believe that you can try their services for a few months and make it easier to cancel, but make no mistake that they will try to keep you locked in and give you the hardest time to cancel a membership in the first year. Additionally, the facilities are OK but the lifetime fitness in Walnut Creek is a better, more updated, newer, better equipment option

I have nothing but good things to say about this place dealt with Jared straightforward I actually had my girlfriend join afterwards. Much better gym experience in the place that I have been with for many many years. It does cost more but in my opinion, it’s absolutely worth it. Everything is clean. You can get in there and get your work out. It’s not overcrowded. You don’t have a bunch of people sitting around on their phones, tied up equipment, etc. lots of classes available and very straightforward. Didn’t experience any high-pressure tactics dealt with the trainer also Angel very straightforward absolutely would recommend this place. I wish I had to come over here a Long time ago

EDIT: I tried to cancel my membership and they asked me to submit proof of relocation or a doctors note. I cannot just cancel. Total invasion of privacy. I specifically asked the rep who signed me up first day how easy it would be to cancel and they said “oh it’s very easy”. Do yourself a favor and avoid this scam.

I visited Equinox recently and was shocked by how rude and arrogant the sales representatives were. The moment I walked in, it was clear they had already decided that I “couldn’t afford” their gym. Instead of welcoming me like a potential member, they treated me with condescension and acted like they were doing me a favor by even talking to me.

It’s ridiculous that a gym that prides itself on luxury has staff that are so out of touch and judgmental. You would think for the amount they charge, they’d understand that treating EVERYONE with respect is non-negotiable. Instead, the sales reps seem to assume that unless you’re flaunting wealth, you’re beneath their attention.

Newsflash: Everyone deserves to be treated equally, whether they’re signing up for an elite gym or not. Equinox should seriously reconsider who they hire, because these attitudes are ruining the experience for potential members. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else where you’re treated with respect, no matter your background or appearance.

Avoid this place at all costs. Equinox may have fancy facilities, but the arrogance from the staff makes it unbearable.

I am utterly disgusted at the complete lack of professionalism and customer service shown by the management at this gym. I had to cancel my membership a couple months ago and it took me three in-person visits, multiple emails, and four phone calls over the course of six weeks to get this simple administrative task taken care of. More than once, I talked to their front desk staff and lamented about how tedious this was becoming and was assured that a manager would reach out to me in 24 hours, only to be left hanging until I myself reached out again. At one point, I talked to a manager, Katrina, on the phone and was assured that if I sent her the necessary info via email, she would take care of the membership cancellation promptly. I sent her the information within 1 hour of the phone call ending and didn’t get a response from Katrina; I sent a follow-up note two days later and still didn’t hear back. In the meantime, my credit card had been charged for two additional months of membership. Finally, when I had reached my (very generous) limit, I went into the gym and talked to one of the sales managers as he was the highest ranking person in at the time. He was apologetic gave me every assurance that he would make sure Katrina contacted me the following day. No surprise, however, 48 hours went by and I heard nothing from Equinox. I then proceeded to call Katrina directly (again) and demanded the cancellation be taken care of immediately and my credit card be refunded. While my membership was finally canceled and credit card eventually refunded, l was only given a meek verbal apology as recompense. I’ve never before experienced such unprofessional behavior, especially from an establishment that regards itself as “luxurious” and is considered to be best-in-class. I paid good money for my membership and even paid for several sessions with a personal trainer and I did not appreciate being treated with such disdain. I will never go to this gym again.

I work out 5 days a week and need to know I can see the sky at all times. The work out area is bright with big windows everywhere. The bike classes have allowed me to achieve my body fat percentage goals and maintain. This club has everything you would want in a modern upscale gym spa environment. I leave each day feeling pampered with world class amenities and staff support.

Clients should be aware of fraudulent practices in this place! While classes are quite nice, management is terrible. Very aggressive, doing everything to get you on the hook for the membership subscription, promising deals and offers, which they never fulfill, becoming unresponsive once they have you signed up, barely replying to the messages or calls, promising to fix everything, and still never doing that. Also, be aware, trainers are real quick to charge your card for lessons they "thought would be good for you" for over $1000 without getting your confirmation for the price. Even the general manager - when he emailed me with the subject "checking in", I replied about the issues, but he NEVER came back to me since, so, I assume that this is quite common practice there!!! Never expected this from such a big, reputable company...

Fine gym. Extremely high traffic at all times of the day, I feel like many people go specifically to shower and use the products so dozens of people in the shower at all times. Staff tries to keep up with cleaning and maintenance but I don’t see how it’s possible even with an army. I go to lift weights. So maybe the price is better if you take classes.

Gym is also in the mall so parking is a disaster on the weeekends. Expect to add 10 min to your drive there to find a spot in the garage.

I do think the seating area is cool, have used it numerous times to take work calls.

For the price & if you don’t take classes, I would check out other options.

So I'm happy to tour you but you should keep in mind these are our terms. If they don't fit, you or what you are looking for then I would recommend Fitness 19 or 24 Hour Fitness. To the two extremely lazy guys working today 03/19 at 4pm. The one with a Shane Dawson haircut and the other with the square shape glasses. My family and I just moved into the area, and I was looking to get a gym membership somewhere around here. I walked in with my brother, and I was just inquiring on looking at the gym before I made a decision to sign up. And the front desk associate, said “Oh well we could only give you one if you’re ACTUALLY going to get a membership, and a membership advisor has to give you a tour” & it seemed I had to go back and forth with that kid, to actually get answers for where the membership advisor was and he just kept saying “but that’s if you’re ACTUALLY getting a membership.” It just seemed as though I wasn’t being taken seriously, and it was very irritating. Finally at the end of this constant back and forth, he pointed to his coworker who was sitting on the couch on his laptop that he was a membership advisor and could give me a tour. So basically membership advisor witnessed the whole conversation of me going back and forth with the front desk associate about a tour, yet didn’t want to get his lazy self up to actually talk to me himself instead. I could’ve got a membership that day but with their customer service, I will not step foot in there again.

Be aware that you may not be able to cancel the membership here once you enroll.

I started my membership 5 months ago and was told I had to provide documents to prove my relocation, otherwise the contract will be 12 month and you cannot cancel it. The tricky thing is they never told me until I asked them to cancel my membership. They are hiding information from customers to sell their membership. Also, when I asked them to freeze my account while I was waiting for my relocation documents, they only froze it for the current month, so 5 days later they start to charge normally again for the next month without telling me. When I asked for refund, the sales manager refused to do so and did not even reply to my email.

The gym is small but overall nice and clean, but the cancellation experience is awful. So be prepared if you need to cancel halfway.

Pro: very clean, has the bare essential machines but all are very clean and new. Very easily get solid workouts without much fuss.

Cons: limited machines in comparison to 24hr San Ramon, no turf area, 1 lifting platform.

If you want a quiet and clean gym, this is for you. It's everything you would expect from a healthclub

If you want something to really push fitness in more specific avenues (bodybuilding or powerlifting) you might want to check out other local options

Fist off, the cleaning people that clean here are top notch best in the business. They are the best I have ever seen at a gym in the Bay area, one time I saw a guy take a speaker down and clean behind a speaker, wild stuff. I was disappointed to have Equinox manager (Heather) tell me that I am unable to break my one year membership/freeze my account after learning that I have to wear a mask indoors for the indefinite future. Be careful when signing up because they do not make it clear how difficult it is to break / pause the contract once you have signed. I thought they would be reasonable with customers and pause as needed especially with Delta variant but I was wrong. Bay Club offers much better flexibility to this end.

The club has been handling the pandemic so well. Their facilitates are complying to CDC and state guidelines. I love how they are choosing to be safe and helping contain the virus.

I have no problems freezing my account for an extended period of time during the pandemic, and they have been super responsive. I cannot wait until I'm able to come back!
