I’m very disappointed with my recent experience at Equinox Westlake Village. Last month, I purchased a gift card in advance and planned to pick it up this month. However, today, I was told the gift card had already been redeemed and had no remaining value.

The only person who had my member ID was the individual I spoke with on the phone when I purchased the card — I did not share it with anyone else. This makes the situation extremely concerning, as it suggests a serious lapse in security or internal handling of member information.

I expected a higher level of professionalism and accountability from Equinox, especially given their reputation and premium pricing. I hope management investigates this issue thoroughly and improves their process to ensure that members’ information and purchases are handled securely and honestly.

Recently moved to the area and i was desperate to get back to my gym routine. After combing through all the reviews and going for tours. This gym was the cleanest and offered all the amenities that i needed on my checklist. Reza was extremely knowledgeable and kind with helping me sign up as a new member. I look forward to working out here. Huge free parking lot. Great hours.

I was disappointed with the quality of the classes at Equinox. Many instructors seemed undertrained—warm-ups were missing, transitions were rushed and chaotic, and cues were often unclear. Good instructors really know their craft, demonstrate precise form, and deliver structured workouts that leave you feeling great.

The class schedule could also use more variety, especially yoga, regular Pilates not just fusion, and stretching. For the membership cost, I expected higher quality and consistency.

Horrible experience! Im an equinox member at a different location and wanted to compare the location. Just wanted to walk through the gym while I was at a work event near this location. The hostess said I'm not allowed to walk through to see the place, I thought she didn't understand, so I asked to speak with a membership manager to walk me through the gym supervised. They said it would be considered as a "courtesy entry." The manager came over and tried to agree with the nonsense the hostess said. Maybe some kind of supportive favoritism instead of walking a potential multi club member through the gym! Absolutely joke!

As a new member I got a complimentary training session with Alex today at this location. She is very kind and full of acknowledgement, she went over my concerns and goals. I have been visiting differents Equinox locations and classes, this place in Westlake is beautiful, not too crowded, it has a swimming pool, but the training machines area it was very dirty as well the ladies bathrooms. Parking is very convenient and the area is great with a nice shopping plaza around the corner "The Promenade at The Westlake".

This Equinox location is AWESOME. I love it so much. Clean, great instructors (especially Candyce and Laura), and really good equipment. Don the manager here is what makes this place worth going to. I feel so happy at Equinox. I have lost 45 pounds in the last three years combined and I keep it off by going to the gym 3 to 4 times a week. I wanted to shout him out!!!!!

EDIT: Angel - the new assistant manager- is super helpful, he resolved an important issue for me. 5/5 as always!

The gym is really clean and well-kept, and the staff is friendly. However, the main workout area is fairly small there are limited numbers of equipment. It has also been getting more and more crowded at all hours (likely due to more member sign ups). It's gradually getting harder to justify the prices they charge.

I’ve been working with Jesus, he is by far the best coach I’ve worked with.
Patience , efficiency & perfection in posture is what he works with.

I’ve a degenerative C 5-6(neck)
He worked with me through my pain and comfort level, adjusted each exercise that benefits my muscle growth but also helps to strengthen my spine and general posture “spine hygiene” .
It took about 3 months but pain is all but diminished.

I’m a college student and go here and LOVE everything about this club. Totally worth it if you have the means. I’ve never felt comfortable in gym locker rooms/showers before coming here. Cleanliness is clearly a priority. The members are all super nice the classes are amazing, had to cancel my membership due to relocating but once I have a club near me again I will definitely rejoin. I have never felt more at home and comfortable in any space. The energy here is great for my mental and physical health. It’s definitely worth the money you’ll see a difference. The staff has also always been super accommodating towards anything I needed. If you do Pilates or barre or any specific workout in the area, equinox probably has those same classes and more. In my opinion you get more than what you’re paying for compared to other local fitness facilities.

Equinox is nice and very clean from my perspective. Equipment is up to date as well as the toiletries in the locker rooms. As a newcomer, not being the best in shape, working out can be a bit intimidating when you’re surrounded by fit and athletic members and staff. Being in classes I do get self conscious so I hide in the back. Getting past this tough stage can be a challenge on its own. Would like it if the atmosphere was more welcoming to fitness novices after the enrollment period ends

The gym is very clean and I appreciate that the equipment is well maintained, with the exception of a couple treadmills that rock back and forth and need to be leveled. My biggest issue with this gym is the lack of support and friendliness from the personal trainers to the point where it's almost comical. There is one female trainer who literally keeps her "Resting B Face" on whether she is there training clients or training off hours. It's actually her loss because when you walk by members of your gym like you are on the catwalk of a runway show, you never get the opportunity for your members to engage you and perhaps HIRE you. Dear, this is not a night club or a place for you to show your attitude, it's your place of employment; So, even if you have to fake it, smile or find another place to work. It's not just this lady, other trainers also never say "hello" or make any eye contact. I have been to Equinox gym's all over Southern and Northern California and I had always found the trainers to be engaging, talkative and friendly to the point of some even offering to show a "non client" a better way to lift. Perhaps if you all start talking to the members or at LEAST make eye contact, you may earn a few new clients.

At the beginning I would like to mention that we own and manage exclusive villas all over the world and we know how important good customer service is and how crucial it is the gym to be clean! I am extremely disappointed in equinox Westlake Village because of their lack of cleanness and terrible customer service! I used to belong to equinox Huntington Beach and I was amazed how clean the equipment always was. You could easily notice one person nonstop cleaning the equipment. I am a member in Westlake Village for the last 10 months and I have never noticed anyone cleaning the equipment during my workout. Usually I work out from 1 PM to 5 PM. Last time when I was working out the equipment was especially disgusting, with sweat everywhere, dripping from the machines, the stinky bikes waiting to be used. After 20 minutes of using every single one being nasty I asked a staff member if they could clean up the equipment. I was working out for another hour and no one showed up to clean. I wrote my complaint to Equinox. The assistant general manager Cesar Perez Castillo informed me that they are cleaning the equipment three times a day. The lack of interest was shocking. In my opinion the equipment was not cleaned for at least two days. I am very disappointed in their customer service. I thought they cared about their members and they will do anything to keep a high level of service as equinox is well known for.

Do not sign up for this gym! It is a complete rip off and they are thieves. I canceled my account in 2020 when the pandemic started despite them trying to make it difficult. They started charging my card again in March 2021 and because it’s been such a rough year I didn’t notice until now. They are claiming I did not cancel my account and are refusing to give me a refund even though I was never notified of the charges and never showed up to the gym once. For your own good please stay clear of this gym.

As a long time member, I am saddened to see the stance Equinox Westlake has taken on segregation of members.

First you can no longer enter the gym with a physical member card you MUST have a digital pass on your phone and you MUST make a reservation ahead of time. Also every time you visit the gym you must sign a health declaration.

Equinox is forcing members to get vaccinated or you can NO longer visit the gym. There are NO exceptions, religious or otherwise.

If you visit the gym and are improperly wearing your mask "health officers" patrolling the gym with verbally harass you until you comply. They can wear their mask wrong and you are NOT allowed to tell them to fix their mask.

This used to be a fun gym full of local citizens NO longer. You must distance, must mask, must distance, must get vaccinated, and must watch CNN.

There are plenty of other gyms in the Conjeo Valley that allow for personal freedoms, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Lovely place to escape from the chaotic outside world. Beautiful, very clean, everyone is respectfully masked and following Covid protocol. Wasn't at all crowded at 9am Thursday. Lots of room, empty machines. Knowledgeable trainers and had first Pilates ever... felt great and signed up for series. Nice people, encountered no gym "scene"... yet! Good place to recover from isolation it and launch reclaiming fitness!

I am truly disappointed after years of being a very loyal member and having signed up with them right when they opened, I am very frustrated by their lack of ability to handle their accounts in a professional manner.
Equinox a beautiful gym with nice amenities and great quality equipment. However, the management is in dire need of help. I've had to call the gym and ask for management at least four separate occasions because my billing account was double charged or overcharged. There seems to be no integrity with the account management system. I cancelled my membership because after a year of no gym and then having minimal to no good classes after they re-opened, they decided to hike up the rates. As if that wasn't disappointing enough to see the gouge after an entire year has gone by without the gym being open to its members, I had also found back charges on my account when the gym wasn't even open and my account was supposed to be frozen. Top of it off with I had cancelled my membership and even after I cancelled I was still being charged.
I have a chain of email confirmations that my account was in a freeze & then cancelled, yet still was charged. It truly makes no sense how that many errors can happen & a gym of this stature can still go on running with its doors open. I even called the manager Don Laird and he was absolutely no help and took zero responsibility. I’ve been in customer service for 15 years and this is never how I’d treat me clientele. I've had multiple friends leave the gym & tell me the same stories. This is not good for customer satisfaction & shows complete lack of integrity & even empathy on their part. Very disappointing.

I love this Equinox. It is one of the newest clubs in the LA area so everything feels nice and new. I go here for the cleanliness of the club, 100%. I never worry about it being dirty because the cleaning staff works around the clock (they are awesome and deserve a raise). I love the pool here, the showers, steam, etc! It's really nice to be welcomed by my first name when I come into the club.

The only thing that I don't love is the sometimes pushy sales and high turnover of staff.

By far the best gym I have ever joined. I've been very cautious and a bit paranoid with Covid-19, and I have to say this gym is the benchmark for cleaning and sanitizing from floor to ceiling. The staff is exceptional with an amazing General Manager, Don Laird, that not only listens to member feedback but acts on it. He really cares about each and every member having the best experience. Signing up for my membership was quick and easy with Adam! The trainers Cameron, Jacqueline, and Kenny are so friendly giving you space without being car salesman trying to force you to buy training sessions. This is how a gym should run. The equipment and facility is 1st class and I highly recommend! 10 out of 10 across the board!

Asked for a masseuse that specialized in deep tissue massage. Was told my husband would have one of the best there. He said it was one of the worst massages he's ever had and he couldn't wait for it to be over. He said he was literally dripping in oil and the two specific areas he asked for help received about 10 of the 80 minutes. I don't want to say the masseuse's name, but if she is one of the best they have as was told to me, I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for deep tissue.

Great gym for lifting, feels luxurious while still having everything you need to work out. The trainers are helpful and knowledgeable. It's expensive but you feel like the money is going back into the gym to create a great environment.
