He's very strange they won't receive a call I don't always want people calling me also it means they're selling your number to a list of brokers who want people who have the funds to go to this gym so I called him once I said don't call back without blocking your number my privacy is important so no thank you

I had an extremely disappointing experience with the Pilates studio at Equinox Woodland Hills, and the way management handled it only made it worse.

I originally submitted a request for a private Pilates session, and no one got back to me. I had to resend my request before finally getting a response from Amy, who booked and confirmed me for Sunday at 4 PM. I confirmed my session with her, thanked her, and assumed everything was set. My personal trainer also confirmed my appointment with Amy, so there should have been no confusion.

On the day of, I received a message from Carolina, the instructor, confirming my session and saying she’d see me soon. Since I had already confirmed with Amy, I didn’t think a response was necessary. When I arrived on time and excited for my session, I waited for the instructor—who never showed up.

Apparently, Carolina assumed I wasn’t coming just because I didn’t reply to her text.
1. She never asked for a response.
2. I had already confirmed my appointment with Amy.
3. My personal trainer had also confirmed the session.

When I spoke with Amy afterward, she tried to excuse the instructor’s no-show by blaming me for not responding. If a response was so necessary, why didn’t Carolina simply text me again or call to confirm? Instead, she just chose not to show up, which is incredibly unprofessional.

Then, Amanda, the GM, called me and doubled down on the same excuse, trying to justify Carolina’s actions instead of holding her accountable. At this point, I can’t help but wonder—if I were white, would this have happened?

On top of that, Julia, the desk employee with sparkles on her face was rude and completely unhelpful when I asked about my missing instructor.

This experience was frustrating, disappointing, and unprofessional from start to finish. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes, both Amy and Amanda tried to gaslight me into thinking it was my fault when I did everything right. It’s unacceptable, and I won’t be booking another session here. Equinox is supposed to be a premium experience, but this was far from it.

I hope they take real steps to improve their communication, hold their staff accountable, and reflect on how they treat all members—because this was beyond unacceptable.

I am new at Equinox and this locations is great! Easy parking, clean and front desk girls are super friendly and make you feel welcome. Bathrooms and sauna very clean, I feel more comfortable in this location than the one in Studio City that's crowed and parking is not easy. I still want to check other locations as well. So far this one is my favorite.

So happy I signed up here. Relocating from SM, I needed to find a new gym. I was previously at John Reed, which I enjoyed, but always missed the (good) class aspect. I worked with Sharbl who was super helpful throughout the entire process. He allowed me to test a mat Pilates class before signing - which sealed the deal for me. Now not only am I able to take amazing classes, but I’m also able to lift & steam! Another huge perk is the gym is actually so clean & taken care of. Not to mention every single person I’ve interacted w that works here has been so kind. I’m so happy I joined - it’s become my sanctuary.

My iPhone 12 mini was stolen at this gym today when I left it by the towel shelf in the men's bathroom/steam area where I usually leave it before using the steam/bathroom. While the phone's monetary value is relatively low, losing the data on it is what concerns me most. It's disappointing to think that someone at a gym with a basic membership fee of $200 would steal a used iPhone 12 mini, which is worth less than $200. Always keep your belongings in sight folks. Interestingly, someone else mentioned a similar incident to me not long ago. Stay vigilant!

Honestly this location has gone downhill... I've been coming for years and in the past I would only complain that it was smaller than other locations, but now...

- you have people leaving dirty towels and weights on the floor. I legit waited 20 minutes for the squat rack because I thought it was still in use. Nope, just people not picking up after themselves.

- it's dirty!! Towels are not cleaned well. You'll see black or yellow stains on them now. Showers look old and dirty with hair bundles everywhere.

- non-handicapped people park in the handicap parking spots when the smaller parking lot is full and they want to be right in front of the entrance. See photo for just one example out of many. I've seen this happen way too many times. Today, a real handicapped person saw their spot was taken and then had to park far and walk with crutches. Unacceptable. Management doesn't do anything about this but they're fully aware.

I have been training at this location with Sal Navarro for the last 4 weeks, and I can tell you what an amazing experience it has been. Within this time frame I have lost 11.5 lbs of fat. I’m feeling great and motivated to continue in this journey . Sal set some goals at the beginning and how exciting to know that they have been over achieved. Sal is tops I highly recommend him.

This gym continues to go downhill and it shows. Cleanliness and upkeep is something that this location needs to improve compared to other Equinox location. In the past 6 months or so a noticeable difference. Mats are broken, organization suffering, locker rooms are gross, days there are no towels, and there is always an issue with the parking terminals when exiting.

I've been to most of the other Equinox locations in Socal and have been a member for 8 years, this location suffers. Shouldn't be this way given the Equinox brand.

Can't wait for Life Time gyms to make it to LA and give Equinox some competition to improve their locations.

I’ve had the pleasure of training with Sal at the WH location, and I can’t recommend them highly enough! From the very first session, Sal made me feel completely at ease. He has a friendly and approachable demeanor that immediately put me in a comfortable mindset, which made it so much easier to stay motivated.

Sal explained everything in a way that’s easy to understand, and it’s clear that he knows what he is talking about. He showed me how to use the machines properly and effectively for gym visits when he isnt there!

Whether you’re new to fitness or looking to take your training to the next level, Sal is the person you want by your side. He create a positive, supportive environment that makes working out something to look forward to. I always leave our sessions feeling accomplished and inspired to keep pushing myself. Thanks Sal!

Sal Navarro is fun to train with. Let me explain something.

I’m not a gym rat. I hate working out. I never played sports. I hate exercise. So what am I doing here?

The reason is ‘cuz I’m 71 years old with some health challenges. And I know that I could wind up in a wheel chair down the road - unless I get a reasonable amount of strength and movement training and get started on it - now.

Sal is empathetic and motivational. He is kind, and intuitive about my limits and my potential. He gets me to give my best without me even realizing that I’m doing it.

Before starting every set he has already determined reasonable goals for me that he knows I can achieve, and it surprises me because I can always do what he sets for me. I am gradually building on what I have done while he works me towards what more he knows that I can do.

I’ve been a member at Equinox for a number of years but until recently I haven’t been taking advantage of my membership. My wife recently bought me a couple of training sessions with Sal Navarro and I can’t tell you how much I am enjoying it. I signed up for 5 weeks of training and in 2-3 weeks I have lost 10 pounds. Sal is a fantastic trainer and has taught me how to use all the machines to help me get into the best shape since my teens. I recommend Sal if you’re looking for someone to train with!

Sal Navarro has been my trainer for about two weeks now I'm seeing major results. Gaining muscle and losing tons of body fat. He checks in with me daily to make sure I'm staying on my new eating lifestyle and if I don't know what to eat at a certain time, he suggests many optiens that still fit my diet plan. He also includes many athletic movements that increase my agility and help me to feel way better in my daily life. The only rating I would give his training is five stars.

I've been a member at Equinox in Woodland Hills for several months now, and I couldn't be more impressed. The gym is immaculately clean, with brand new equipment that's always in top condition. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but you truly get what you pay for here. The facilities are maintained at 100% cleanliness, which is a huge plus for me. It’s a great gym although I think they don't have many machines. The main leg machines like leg extension and leg press only have one of each and they are always busy. You have to have time to wait. For the price charged they should add more machines. As for the rest, it's a great gym, clean, great staff.

Embarking on my fitness journey, I encountered my fair share of hurdles. Starting out at various gym chains, I quickly grew frustrated by the lack of available equipment. Turning to HIIT classes, I found some coaches I really enjoyed working out with. However, post Covid, the class schedules no longer aligned with mine and the coaches moved on. It was then that I turned to Equinox, the culmination of my fitness journey by providing a response to all the challenges and issues I had with previous gyms.

Workout Stations:
The facilities and equipment are always clean and at the ready. At other gyms, I struggled to find available machines/weights/equipment; I don’t have that problem at Equinox. Whether I was hitting the weights or hopping on a cardio machine, I never felt hindered by equipment availability or deterred by people hogging up space and just on their phones.

Locker rooms:
Coming from other gyms, I never really found locker rooms to be an amenity worth considering, but Equinox has redefined my standard. They're more than just functional; they're a retreat in their own right. Stocked with Keihl's products, you feel fresh after your workout ready to take on your day. No issues with cleanliness.

Classes:
I have not taken classes yet, but a couple of coworkers have and vouch for them. They are comparable to dedicated HIIT gyms. I’ll update this review with my experience once I take them.

Trainer - Sal Navarro:
What truly sets Equinox apart for me is the staff, particularly my trainer, Sal Navarro. I’ve had many trainers/coaches in the past, and Sal is definitely one of the best. Sal isn't just about pushing you through workouts; he's about perfecting your form and guiding you toward your fitness goals with precision and care. His genuine concern for your well-being is tangible, and it's what sets him apart from the rest. I’ve only had a handful of sessions with him so far and have seen results in weight loss, muscle gain and feeling healthier overall. He’s helped out with nutrition and empathizes with those sweet tooth cravings, giving advice on how to best approach those situations. Every session with Sal is a lesson in improving your overall well-being. I recommend you ask for Sal with your intro training to experience it for yourself!

I’ve been a member of equinox for years and went to many locations in the states and abroad . this location is probably the worst out all the others I’ve ever been to. I come here a lot this past year because it’s close to my newly opened business and i have my schedule pretty set. Last week they decided to do deep cleaning in the middle of the day on a Thursday and unplugged all the cardio equipment. This gym is very small and already has little to no space to work out, very tight space between the machines to even change weight but when equipment is being moved towards the benches it’s makes it a hazard and super inconvenient . I don’t know whose idea it was to do that in the middle of the day. From what i heard from reception it’s the “new manager” . I emailed last week with no response . Today I came in having my whole routine planned out and i come to the same thing again today…. No announcement, no letting people know … Cleaning guy says to me “this is going to be every Thursday now” . Like what? Can’t you do this after hours? When equipment is moved so is dust and people with allergies can’t workout there while cleaning is happening . This is ridiculous for an elite fitness club this is the worst idea ever …

I've been going to this gym for the past 4 months now and I must say that I have had gotten great customer service and personal trainer service as an additional option that was given to me which I gladly took into consideration. Gym seems very clean and I typically see cleaning employees always on the floor to sanitize and make sure things are going well throughout the gym. I would highly suggest to request a personal trainer at Equinox as they offer knowledgeable trainers to guide you through your exercising journey. My personal trainer Sal Navarro has been an excellent trainer for the past 4 months that I’ve been going to Equinox. He's helped me in terms of making sure I do the exercises properly and give me the motivation and dedication I needed to keep myself going to the gym. Great personality, easy to get along, very keen to help out, and he's very respectful. Since then he's helped me gain 10 pounds of muscle so far and I'm very thankful for all that he has done although this is still just the beginning of my journey. If you want a personal trainer, I would highly recommend to request Sal to be your personal trainer. Well done Equinox and Sal!

I've been going to Equinox gym, but it's been a hassle because they never seem to have towels available. Even if you wait around, you might still end up towel-less for half an hour. I used to go to Studio City, where towel problems were rare. Also, the gym isn't as clean as it should be, and the shampoos and body wash seem to be diluted with water. Plus, they never seem to have eucalyptus for the steam room. The staff in the locker room always seem to have an attitude problem. I've complained to corporate, but unfortunately, nothing has changed.

I’ve been to four locations including this one and despite the lack of amenities it is still probably the best one so far. Even when I come during rush hour it’s not beyond congested that I need to wait to get my workout in. The class offerings are good but don’t go late enough in the evening compared to other gyms. The staff are all super nice, but I hate how trainers will take up two machines at once for their clients (even if they aren’t using the second). This really sucks during rush hour. Otherwise the people who come here are in their own zone which is great. I have all the equipment I need and the yoga classes are pleasant (so is Pilates even though it’s really just matwork). Cost to come here is absurd for what you get though. Seriously there are competing gyms at a better price better worth your time unless you go to one of the bigger locations that has a pool and sauna. Or if you just need lots of locations in general

This place used to be wonderful. I joined a few years ago and really enjoyed the environment of the space.

It used to be quiet, clean, and well equipt - a proper luxury gym.

These days it's over crowded with entire sections clogged by people camped out on machines for 20-45 min while scrolling on their phones.

It's gotten messy with equipment strewn around, dirty wipe cloths in machines when you get to them, and empty plastic drink containers all over. Not to mention the increase in broken or out of service machines.

The space has deteriorated tremendously in quality control and upkeep.

Also the decorum of gym etiquette is atrocious - particularly the increasing number of people going into the steam room fully dressed in their work out clothes, shoes and all. It creates a tremendous disease vector with bacteria and fungus growing in the humid heat, and when informed of the guidelines the transgressing patrons get huffy and defensive.

I've also had quite a few new trainers interrupt my work out on the trying to get me to sign up with them for my equifit, or saturating the space with what seems like simultaneous trainings instead of staggering them throughout the day to not bottleneck the walking paths.

For this level of experience may as well go to one of the bigger chain gyms and have more space at the appropriately cheaper cost

Me and my wife went into equinox today to sign up for a gym pass. A lady name Paige came to the front desk in offered to show us around before she sign us up for the membership. As she is showing us around the gym, she seem real professional and nice. She had a nice smile which made me feel comfortable. After she showed us around we went into her office in she offered us a 3 day pass and asked for our emails. The 3 day pass is sent only through our emails. 40 minutes later my wife said she received her 3 day pass. I checked my email and I haven't received anything, nothing. I felt a little funny about that. Maybe she forgot to post it on it on my email or a certain number or letter she missed putting in my email, either way I felt discriminated. Maybe she didn't like how I look or she didn't like my personality. I felt like she took it personally and that's not acceptable. If she attentionally did not send my 3 day pass through my email then that's wrong. That's discrimination. I'm getting sick of getting discriminated and being treated like I'm not human. Soon I'm getting my an attorney so I start suing people because this is getting out of hand. Paige, if you are reading this, learn how to treat people equally even if you don't like how they look or if you don't Ike their personality. Treat everyone with dignity and respect.

This particular club has more of a 24 Hour Fitness vibe. The crowd is rather inconsiderate and seems to take pride in disobeying all rules and gym etiquette. The management either doesn't care or they are not aware that allowing some members to freely break the rules (cellphone use, loud dropping of weights, entering steam room with street shoes, to name a few) provides for a stressful and unpleasant experience for the majority of the members. Equinox is positioning itself as a luxury health club and not your unfriendly neighborhood juicehead gym and a luxury health club this one does not appear to be, with the value clearly not matching the luxury price tag. Even the sound settings on the main floor are resembling a cheap Berlin techno club from the early 90s - the bass is cranked up to penetrate even the best noise reduction headphones. Some of the Equinox trainers seem to indirectly encourage such behavior by incorporating loud and distracting elements to their training sessions that take place on the same floor that is shared with all the members, such as completely pointless smashing medicine balls against the floor, or loud boxing / sparring sessions in the middle of the weight training floor.
The experience for me is not any different from what I would encounter at Golds or LA Fitness or 24 Hour Fitness, so I am most probably not renewing my membership upon the expiration of the current one, unless something is done to elevate the experience. The two stars are for the amazing cleaning/maintenance staff and the Kiehls products.

This is a pretty solid equinox location, not my favorite but it definitely works well. I really appreciate the staff on the floor keeping the weights in order and keeping it generally tidy.

Cleanest, best gym franchise in LA but why are they STILL closing so early on the weekends (currently 5pm) post-pandemic?! Can't even make it there on time. The pandemic is not an excuse anymore!

This just feels like corporate cost-cutting that disregards taking care of members. With membership prices more than 10x other gyms, if anybody can afford to go back to pre-pandemic hours, it's this gym. Stay open later like you did pre-pandemic!

Clean, great amenities, not crowded, knowledgeable staff, requires proof of vaccination. If you don't play basketball or swim, it is a very good gym to attend.

Over pasted 12 years I’ve been a member of all the gyms in the area and this one is the best.
Things I love about it:
Big and bright with natural light and high ceilings.
Great selection of equipment and well maintained and clean.
Friendly staff with instructors on the gym floor that will spot you if you ask.
Never too crowded
Parking is easy
Only negative is the price but you get what you pay for right!
On a side note I’ve also trained at the Equinox in Santa Monica and the Marina and Woodland Hills is the best. Santa Monica Parking sucks, too many levels and too busy, marina location is great but stupidly crowded.

Love this place, clean, staff is friendly and makes you feel motivated to work out. Love the parking also, and I feel safe. At this point in my life I want a beautiful gym and a place I want to go to. Taking luxury work outs to new level! :)

Ac is big problem that they have every year in summer It takes them several days to fix it and still they are not trying to find permanent solution for it!!!!!!!!!

Club looks almost new and is very clean. They seem to keep on top of equipment issues or maybe stuff doesn't break down often. Either way it's good. The only thing I don't like is having to have parking validated - not a big deal but something else to remember to do.

Updated - 3/2018. Not sure why people think this gym is not clean. Maybe it's the women's locker room, which I don't see. It's got good cardio equipment which are seldom broken down. The gym has a couple of squat racks but no dedicated deadlift area. Although one or two people can find places to deadlift at a time. The dumbbell rack is good and go up over 100 lbs. My only real complaint are the ones who slam the weight machines routinely with no employee noticing even while nearby.

I've been a member of this Equinox location for about a year. Great training training staff and clean equipment. However for the premium price you pay they want you you by 8pm or 9pm on weekend, 10pm weekdays and few times shut off the lights 20 mins early to hint to clients to wrap up. On Sundays, they want you out by 6 or 7 and in the past 5 months, there have been 3 occasions where they closed early due to a "company event." If I'm paying a premium for a location, I would like my gym to actually be open a little . Like many, I work out in the evenings.

No combination lockers like other equinoxes (have to bring your own lock like high school), much smaller space and fewer machines.

Lastly, I moved resulting in me needing to cancel membership. NIGHTMARE, they couldn't cancel my membership over the phone first time and said I needed to mail in a letter of cancellation. I did and they still kept charging me. 3 weeks later, sent another email and still kept charging me. Call their corporate center and they kept me on hold for 20 mins. Still no resolved. I understand you're trying to keep your clients but that's ridiculous. I don't have time to cater to your unnecessary procedures.

Im a fan of most equinoxes but this is one that isn't worth the price.

Stay Away! Giving 4 stars for classes! But this gym is dirty. I am so tired to complain. Towels are dirty with hairs and make up spots, or just black spots. I saw the cleaning lady Maria spitting on the towels and putting dirt out of the trash can straight on the cotton balls. She is also doing spitting noises all the time, while cleaning and changing shampoos. My imagination goes beyond!!! What else is she doing? I asked main manager Nathan C. to do something about it, but no luck. I even put my membership on hold couple times just for that reason. I brought him dirty towels to show, he says there is no spots, when he was just looking at one. And he keeps lying straight to my face that Maria is not working in the locker room, when she is there every night I go. The manager says, let's just cancel your membership if you are not happy.
I think every member has the right to know that this gym is Unsanitary.
