I travel a lot and I have a chance to go to many locations for this company and others.

I have to say this is the most poorly run and maintained gym in their entire franchise under either brand label.

Same company same product but the difference comes down to whether you have a good manager or bad management team and obviously this location has a terrible management team.

I've never seen a dumbbell rack that was more completely ignored and nothing in the right place whatsoever not even remotely close.

Any decent company in any industry you have an opening and a closing procedure and typically that includes making sure everything is backwards supposed to be. You have some of the staff stay a little bit later at the end of the night or coming a little earlier the next morning and that should be done at least once that I think a couple times a day.

Further there is only one pec deck which is ridiculous in a gym that size and some of the equivalent looks older should be updated.

I've been going to the gym for about 18 years and have been training seriously for about 6 years. I hit a plateau towards the end of last year and decided to a give personal training a chance. Mario H was my trainer, and he is super passionate about nutrition and fitness. He gave me a fitness schedule and suggested ways I can tweak my form to really target specific muscle groups. He also made me a meal plan so I can get my macros in. It's been about 6 months since I've started his training plan and I can definitely feel and see a difference. I highly recommend you pick him as your trainer.

Today was the worst day ever in this gym
I was training in the morning by myself
I was in a video chat with my personal trainer
But this[ lady ](?) Ann came and asked me if I was using one of the equipment I say yes I am she was I need it I was like I'm using it
I turned around then she took it I was really disappointed because I found out she is a personal trainer I don't recommend hir at all she was rood and she make a bad face I thought she was going to use the equipment but no she wasn't. Wifi is ALWAYS down. Been here bout 3 years. Almost never works.
Weights are a mess, dumbells never get reracked by staff.
Girls at the front desk don't have much customer service skills, always look upset.
Overall just a below average experience.

I haven't been to the gym for a long time. Since it's the closest, I chose this gym to restart exercising as a senior citizen. After a couple weeks, it has not disappointed me... The gym is spacious, bright and clean. Most of the staff are polite and cheerful. The music is upbeat but not too loud. There is plenty of equipment to workout any of your muscle groups and cardio. Also, there is an open space for other exercises as well, plus a swimming pool, basketball and racquet ball courts. Restrooms are kept clean despite the negligence of some members. There are showers and a steam room.

All in all, I'm pretty satisfied... The 1 star deduction is for them not to keep up with cleaning those crumbs of paper towels which are used to wipe the equipment by negligent members.

UPDATE 2024:
I've been coming here frequently for a couple years now... Their improvement on my 1-star deduction is to provide wet wipe instead of paper towels and more trash bins. Kudos for that!
I was about to update them to a 5-star gym, but then I saw people eating lunch in the middle of the gym. Really?!? Do they actually allow that?!? If they do, that is one fast way to downgrade the facility... Hope not!

First of all this gym is not that great, they care more about signing people on than actually taking care of the gym. Half the treadmill screech every time you run on them and they always repeating the outside every 6 months and say they remodeled! The locker rooms are beyond disgusting and the restrooms are worst. The showers are as old as the building plus 25 years.

The main issue I have is that they set sauna hours until a 10:45 on weekdays and we came at 9:15 and the janitor cleaned the sauna early and shut off the steam room. After talking to front desk they confirmed it should be on and walked me over to the janitor. The janitor said they shut off early but when I clarified they do but at 10:45. It’s 9:30 he just shrugged. I asked him if he could turn it on and he said he couldn’t because it’s already washed and he didn’t have the key but miraculously 15 min later he has the key and when I asked him he refused to turn it on. Laughed at me and my friend and said it is what it is and if I wanted to use the steam room I am more than welcomed to go to the 17th street steam room and just walked away. This is so far beyond unprofessional and I’ve been coming here for over 20 years. I hope this gets addressed and if you want to shut off the steam room early then set the hours for the steam room at that time. Don’t say 10:45 and have it shut off by 9:15.

Well my first time at this location and its a really nice gym but it needs a lot work... I took the cycling class and the bikes looks very old and the handles were very sticky like they have never been service or cleaned then I went to use the restroom after and they were a mess, very poor hygiene 😖😔😕, nothing compared to the cleanness from other gym's!

Business hours are horrible! They keep on reducing the hours that members can come in to work out using Covid as an excuse. Covid is over! I think it’s b.s. because other gyms open longer hours. Even Planet Fitness operates 23 hrs daily. Esporta seems less competitive to all the other gyms:(. It has been almost 3 years! They raised the membership fee, but reduced the business hours. At least bring back the hours before the pandemic. I encourage other members to please bring this up to management so they know we are upset.

Update 10-01-23: Thank you for extending to later hours. However, please open earlier because some of us have lots of family obligations and can only work out when the rest of the country is still asleep.

Pool closed without prior notice. Steam room closed without prior notice. Jacuzzi has water but no pump works. Shower rooms have water, but only cold water. Thanks to all these, the club is quiet now. Consequently, on the brightside, most equipment is easy to get....

I’ve been coming here for a few years now and I’m seriously thinking of relocating as the machines take forever to be repaired, specially the cables which are only a few, the steam room is always out of service , there very few machines and to top it off they close down a section for “personal training” which you can’t access taking more equipment out of reach. Not to mention that they took away the child care option.

I wanted to give this new gym a try so I signed up for the $30 monthly basic membership. After about a week in I realize just how disappointing this gym is. The quantity of weights and machines is not anywhere near enough for the amount of people in the gym. The dumbbells are always scattered and the restrooms are filthy with no toilet paper. However, the most disappointing part is the costumer service. The staff and manager put no effort into providing the bare minimum. I canceled my membership on the app, yet I was still being charged. I then try to call the gym but was never answered. Stay away from this gym.

Good size gym. Open and spacious. They need more smaller weights. Also, they took away the paper towels in the bathroom to save money. There’s nothing to clean your hands with and no paper towels throughout the gym. I just started working in Anaheim and went to this location around 5:30pm on a Tuesday. The gym is small compared to other LA Fitness locations I’ve been to. It was also really crowded with teenagers, not sure how groups of 6+ teens can have an effective workout. The size and the crowds made for a bad workout for me. This will be the first and last time I go to this location.

This used to be Bally's before LA Fitness bought them out. The free weights are never re-racked correctly and like the Santa Ana location, the staff don't care. It's not a large facility and the 1st floor is usually busy. The pool is okay but Asian females will will enter your lane if you're already swimming, and I'm not racist, just stating facts.

So I come to ask for a refund of passed months, which I was unable to cancel due to a traumatic injury of a car accident. This membership was the last thing on my mind and I’m in need of money. HILDA the “manager” asked me what I want at the front desk and when I proceed to tell her my situation. she said there’s no way they will refund the money. When I asked if I could speak to a manager she smirks and says I am the “manager” clearly enjoying the fact that I’m getting upset. When I asked for a cooperate number she said “they won’t help either” with that same smirk on her face. I am so upset I don’t even know what to do. So, my first impression of this gym was that it wasn’t that bad. It seemed like a pretty basic and spacious area to workout. However, if you’re planning on working out daily, take note of these things:

1) The restrooms aren’t always clean. Usually during the weekends and busiest hours of the day, you’re likely to find tons of trash, paper towels, or hair stuck to the floor.

2) People will place weights in random places. This is a thing I see at every other gym, so it’s not surprising. Just be sure to watch out where you’re walking.

3) Don’t expect someone to greet you at the front desk.

4) Don’t be surprised by rude staff.

This club will make you a hard time to cancel your membership. I tried to cancel my membership because I have to other location. I came there several time to ask to cancel my membership. They said that their manager is not there to help me out because he is either sick or not at the gym at the moment. And this repeats for 2 weeks with the same answer. Then they advise me to cancel online. I follow their instructions to cancel and send in the mail to cancel my membership. After 3 months, they still charge my credit card. I called in again after moving to my new house. All they said is that I have to be physically be here to cancel my membership because the manager is sick despite that I told them that I can't physically come. They said it's the only way that I have to be there physically. I got so frustrated; hence, I call in my bank for help.

It's great that every day I go to this location there's always someone cleaning all the equipment one by one and mopping all floors. After a year of not going to the gym I also noticed the guys in the front desk are very courteous, however my two stars are because I could never tell who the personal trainers are because back in the days the personal trainers really stood out physically and professionally. I see so many people just use the gym as a hang out or social place to be, many are on their phones wasting time sitting on the equipment instead of working out. There's no gym reps walking around like back in the days making sure people were using the machines properly.
Just a suggestion, you guys need to put signs for people to limit their cell phone usage at the gym because there's people who actually want to work out and they just take over the equipment, sit there, and are on their phones. Every day I'm there I can't ever follow a routine because people will be at a machine for over 30 min on their phones and no one tells them anything.
You guys need to walk around to keep make sure people are rotating and working out not just sitting on the machines. I miss the LA Fitness from back in the days!!

I moved from Santa Ana LA Fitness to this one. It is nice and wide open floor gym with many amenities. My problem is management doesn't seem to care about providing enough cable machine bars for curling and rope cable attachment for triceps pulldowns. I informed them of this and said they would look into it. Blah blah right they'll look into it. Almost 2 months later nothing done. What I notice is members bringing in their own cable equipment which is another problem because management is not prohibiting members having gym bags with them on the work out floor, if they did, it would help prevent theft of gym equipment. The managers here are about the status of their title than the actual ability to be one.

I’ve been a member since Oct 2020 and I love the gym. Staff in the front always greeting the members with a smile and are very helpful (not sure what the girl’s name is). Manager is very profesional with all members. She’s a manager that her kindness and professionalism makes me want to continue going to that site.
The cleaning lady Maria is awesome too. Place is always clean when she’s there. 3 wonderful women working at that gym, making a great team.

Worst experience ever!!!! I had an appt to take a tour, they said at the desk they did not have the information. OK, can somebody help me then? I want to see the club & sign up. 15 minutes later…nothing…no time frame, no we will be right with you…nothing…completely ignored!!! I finally said I was leaving & would find another club. All I got was “Sorry”. I left & tried to reach the manager…I was told she could take my call as soon as she was done with a member…then I was told to call back the next day during work hours.

Pool is a fantastic 25-meter, naturally lit. Locker floor all the way to the pool dock is black muddy at some times should be mopped more often. Been seeing members jumping in without at least rinsing off. These two might cause slippery and health issues to the point when pool turns murky or too much chemicals pouring in. I’ve never written a negative review which should tell you how upset I am . I have been calling this gym trying to talk to the supervisor and she’s never available . I been calling for 3 weeks and they keep giving me the run around . I need to cancel my membership since I live an hour away and can’t stop by to cancel so I been trying to do it over the phone and by email and I haven’t been able to . The longer I take canceling the more they keep charging me . Now I’m paying for a gym that I can’t even go to . I switched over from Planet Fitness to Esporta and let me tell you that's the best decision I ever made. This gym is catered to make you leaner, faster, and stronger. The staff is nice, the facility is clean, overall a great please to work out at.

The steam room smells so bad and paper towel all over the place restrooms also paper towel in the floor.Im jut wasting money for the membership and gym always closed by the time they open they charge you right away better close my membership.

Don't come here. Front desk staff lied about amenities to sign me up for membership. No lifting platforms or bumper plates. Bathrooms smell horrible. Only one power rack. Only has cheap squat barbells - no alternatives for deadlifts/cleans/movements from the ground. Gym doesn't even have a real pull up bar!

After being closed for 3+ months and charging me for 2 of them I get hit with yearly maintenance fee! Usually I'm ok with this but I come back on opening day and many pieces of strength equipment are broken with signs on them! The La fitness gyms on the west coast are garbage and nothing compared to the ones in Georgia and Florida. Very dirty and outdated.

Most disgusting gym, ever.
Restroom are so nasty, and visited many gyms in Orange. Even Planet Fitness is better and cleaner. I told the managers many times, and they ignored me.
