Me and my son (11) signed up and the staff is awesome! I got my son a personal trainer named Christian and he so sweet! He is patient with my son and asks him how school was. He motivates him and cheers him on! I am 100% satisfied. The gym members are also very nice.

Out of all of the gyms I've been to in the San Francisco Bay Area, Fitness 19 in Daly City Westlake is by far the most exquisite gyms, from clean bathrooms to all the energy drinks you need. The staff there genuinly cares about fitness and your goals its not just a gym but a real community, I would recomend going to Aron, Randy or the Manager Howard.

This is a nice little gym. I wanted to keep going but I could never use any of the weight lifting machines. Very few and always a queue. It's a little smelly being in the back of the plaza but over all I quit because I just wasn't able to work out.

Just joined a couple of weeks ago. Really enjoying my personal training program with James. Very attentive and adaptable to my current needs because I am recovering from shin splints and a meniscus injury on my right knee. Howard, the owner, is also very welcoming and warm. I'm not typically a gym person, but this gym is well-designed and well-lit while feeling fun and spacious despite being underground and a smaller space. It still feels big. I can see myself going more regularly once I get used my new fitness routine and program

I am unable to cancel my account. I have contacted the 1-800 number given to me multiple times they still say that I owe even though it was canceled over 3 months ago. I've done business at a different Fitness 19 location and never had this issue. I would not recommend joining Daly City Fitness 19 unless you do advance payment or prepaid card.

I came back from college so I was desperate to find a gym then I came by this one where they had a summer deal. I used my 3day trial, and it seems like a decent gym location because of how “affordable” it is (emphasis on affordable because no way it can justify $99 initiation fee when normal priced for this gym)

Cons:
- this location is UNDERGROUND, so there’s like no ventilation, no windows, nothing

- every time you walk down is just hella depressing. (like walking down a subway)

- There’s a yearly fee about ($50) you have to pay even when you’re staying for a month over the summer, they don’t even tell you this on their website

- $99 initiation and about $50 yearly fee even for the summer deals they have

- The weights for adding 5,10,15 (inbetweeners),in many machines are faded! they can’t even bother to write the numbers because before they all disappear, So you have to use to the machine turning the dial each time to test how much weight it is! smh👎 It would be more excusable if it’s 1 or 2 but it’s like every machine in the gym….

- restrooms always have no paper and there’s only soap on right side, so if you happen to wash hands on other side you have to walk and get soap

- I always went in the morning and there’s always A decent amount of people, can’t imagine afternoons with the crappy ventilation

- not that I use these but no showers, no pool, etc

Pros
-close and easy parking

- affordable despite having many fees

- decent summer deal

- Decently clean (I see people go around and clean the area

Summary: I was still considering this gym though because this gym was still cheaper than many others despite its many cons and because of the summer deal. I was hesitant so ended up not signing up plus the summer deal was already over the time of this review. If you are desperate during this summer deal which is already past that don’t care about its location underground, poor ventilation and its limited activities, weights for machines that you don’t even know its weight for, but just want to get a little workout done then go ahead, but if you want to be serious about your gains then go find another better location during a time that is not summer, that can look after their machines better, better ventilation, better facilities and also doesn’t have $100 initiation for normal pricing💀

I regret signing up with this Fitness 19. The equipment is outdated and constantly out of service, good luck finding a working treadmill during peak hours. The gym is overcrowded, especially in the evenings, and there’s barely any room to move, let alone actually get a proper workout in.

The cleanliness is also questionable. The lockers often smell bad, and I’ve seen cleaning supplies just sitting around while no one is actually cleaning. On top of that, the staff seem indifferent and even rude. When I tried to cancel my membership, I was bounced between employees who clearly didn’t know what they were doing.

There are better gyms available at the same price, without the hidden fees this one sneaks in and with better service. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.

EXTREMELY frustrating cancelation process:
First attempt: tried cancel online -> system show my account was not allow to cancel online
Second attempt: call fitness 19 -> was told to visit gym to cancel in person with a manager
Third attempt: visit gym in-person and was told either manager is on break, sick, not working that day
Forth attempt: finally got on a call with manager, was being told I'm still in my 12 month commitment, so I waited another 2 months to cancel to avoid $50 early cancellation fee
Fifth attempt: got on a call with the manager and finally able to cancel online and phone call at the same time
BUT did not receive any cancelation confirmation email after waited a week
Sixth attempt: I called again and was being told I'm on PENDING Cancelation, I will be charged ONE LAST PAYMENT on the month I cancel, I asked for a confirmation email, the manager told me he needs to go through another system, he only send out the email after I insist to get one, but until this point, I still haven't receive my confirmation email yet, and THE MANAGER JUST HANG UP THE PHONE WITHOUT ANY APOLOGY

There’s a wide variety of workout equipment, and the gym is spacious and clean. As someone who’s new to the gym, I needed guidance and decided to work with a personal trainer. I’m so thankful to have Christian Fumar as my trainer. He’s incredibly patient, supportive, and takes the time to explain each exercise clearly—including which muscles each machine targets. His encouragement and knowledge have made me feel much more confident on my fitness journey.
Another great perk is the hydromassage chair—it’s such a relaxing way to unwind after a workout! It really helps with muscle recovery and makes the whole gym experience even better. I truly appreciate the welcoming atmosphere at Fitness 19!

I am grateful to find an affordable gym nearby that has classes. I LOVE the Zumba classes and yoga. This location doesn't have many time options for the classes, I wish they had more times available. I have been seeing a trainer, again affordable, and he gives me workouts on days we are not together. My trainer is positive, understanding, and super helpful. The gym was hard for me to find at first, it's downstairs, and they have a lift for the stairs. That all said, there things that need to be fixed. Some pieces need new carabiner clips to attach different grips and machines seem to take a while to fix. Which is understandable given supply chain issues, but there aren't duplicates of some machines, so when it's down it's easy to notice. The stair machine is very popular and can have a wait on busy nights. I wish they had more!

I come every Tuesday and Thursday to do Zumba class here and the studio is very hot while we’re dancing especially when we have more than twenty people inside and the ventilation is not strong plus we are underground. Today when I came to the class and tried to open the doors one of the ladies and teacher told me to closed the door because they got scolded last time . I said to them let speak to people in the front desk. I told a young lady excuse me are we’re not longer allow to open the doors while we are dancing Zumba , it’s very hot in there . I invite you to join us , she said people were complaining how loud and noisy it was when the doors were open . Just open one door .
If they’re mean and like this , I am not longer coming in to this location and gym . I’m not willing to pay membership when they don’t treat us right .

Yes , they finally fixed the ventilation. Although , the equipment is very old and some don’t work . In addition, the kickboxing teacher Dominic Gonzalez is mean and rude with the people in the classroom including me and my partner who doesn’t speak Spanish . He told one girl that instead of spending time with her lashes ( instead of working out your lashes workout how to lift properly to avoid pain in your wrists )to use that time usefully to know how to lift correctly . Whereas, me , I was doing the planks and my butt was up , he said lower your butt , you look like an elephant 🤨😤 and for my partner he said to me look look he has been doing too much planks that he has no ass and he laughed 😠😡. He has zero respect for and is not professional, there’s many ways to approach, correct us and motivate us .

The teacher never say those mean things in English, why because he knows is bullying and the others will complain telling the front desk.
We stopped attending to the kickboxing class and we will stop attending this gym. We’re considering switching gyms !

I wanted to cancel the membership and i called the gym but the guy on the call said that I have to go to the gym and then cancel it. So, i did the same but unfortunately when i went the guy didn’t know how to do it and asked me to wait and finally he said it was done. But again i dnt recieve any calls that my membership is not cancelled and they have been deducting money from my account without me knowing. When i checked my mail i had go through all my emails just to find out that my membership was declined and i had to redo it. This is just a scam. Be careful guys.
