I had originally posted a 1 star review and deleted it due to a district manager asking me to change my rating, but here we are again dealing with this unbelievably shady business.

When I first signed up they required that I provide them with two different credit cards. A few months after, I started getting messages from a random phone number asking me to provide the details of my bank account THROUGH TEXT. I ignored the first message, but they persisted, and when I asked why this was the first time hearing this, they (someone saying they were a manager) told me they require a bank account. With all the scams out there I just ignored it, and even if it was an employee, I aint giving you my bank info for a gym membership. Ridiculous.

I canceled my membership a year later and was subsequently overcharged. Their cancelation policy is to pay through the end of the current billing cycle and one additional month after. I was a couple days into the new billing cycle, so I essentially had to pay two more months before I could cancel. Not only did I receive those charges, as expected, I also received a fraud alert telling me there were suspicious charges to a dormant credit account. Turns out, I was also charged for two months' fees to that mandatory secondary credit card.

I went into the gym with both billing statements and was directed to a manager. The manager was flippant and rude to me for no reason, despite merely asking about why this had happened. She told me she was submitting a request for refund for those additional charges and it might take a few days. Ok, no problem.

Well, weeks passed and I never had the overcharges reversed as promised, and the more I thought about their methods from the beginning, the more it seemed like this was all by design. I think it is for people not paying close attention and never realizing they were charged twice due to being spread across separate accounts. I wrote a review and a district manager responded here and asked me to contact him. I reached out and never heard back. Two weeks later, I updated my review saying his 'concerned' reply was just for show. Well, I finally got that call back.

I asked why he never called me back, and he told me he looked in their system and it showed as refunded and he felt he didnt need to at that point. I showed him the statements for my card with charges and no refund. They couldn't work out what had happened in their systems, so he ended up just reversing two months of dues on my primary card, which only brought me back to square one and did nothing for all the time and energy wasted getting me my stolen money back. He then had the nerve to ask me to change my review. I said I would consider it, and eventually just deleted my review altogether because I felt oddly obligated to do so (pushover).

Flash forward two years later. I keep getting alerts about security breaches from random websites or apps, with hackers exposing my personal information & usernames/passwords out onto the dark web. I spent days trying to track down and change passwords or delete accounts to as many sites as I could remember creating accounts for in my life (impossible). I came across my old gym sign-on, and they still have my credit cards and my personal info stored in their system with no way to delete them, indicating required info. I emailed their main customer care listed on the portal, requesting they delete my online profile and all stored information about me. This wasn't a problem for other sites I emailed. This was their response:

'You are asking us about your gym membership at the Morgan Hill location?'

'No, not that, my membership was canceled years ago. I am specifically asking you to delete my online account and all information stored about me in your systems'

'Yes, we can confirm your membership was canceled and you won't be charged. Rest assured, we won't ever use your information and we won't try to contact you'

They won't delete my information. Still dealing with these incompetent untrustworthy fraudsters years later.

Check-in at the front desk was quick and easy, and the staff were very friendly! I went for a quick 4 mile run over the weekend. The treadmill area can get a little busy at times, but most people only use it for 15 minutes, so it's not too bad overall.

Good gym but gets really packed in the early evenings. It has 4 stairmasters (the main reason i go there) and it seems 1 or 2 are constantly in need of repair (which means it often only has 2 or 3 working units). I wrote to management and they ignored my email.

They have increased my price about 33% in the last year with two price increases (i have a basic now $12 membership), so i'm hoping they throttle back on the increases going forward.

The lighting is too bright. It feels like hospital lighting. There is more cardio machines than weight training machines and equipment so going after work around peak hours is impossible to get a strength training workout in. Tried going early morning and it is still insanely packed. The leg press machine sucks and they only have one. All around it sucks, unfortunately.
