Purchased a week’s guest pass while visiting family. Weight equipment is well organized for time efficient training sessions. The vibe and etiquette are conducive to creating a friendly and supportive gym environment. Ample room in the middle of gym for independent flexibility and auxiliary exercises. We've been members of this club for a little over 8 years. Recently, they made the decision to not allow any business channels on. When inquiring with other employees, she said It's propaganda. When asking how a business, market, or channel is propaganda she had no answers. As later told that somebody left an anonymous note saying that they see if anything with fox in it they get triggered. So Management has made a decision to keep all Market and anything with fox in it off the TVs yet every other TV has mainstream media on it.

This is blatant censorship, a negative reaction to one or two individuals who were triggered because they didn't like a certain news channel. They don't have to watch it, it would be a positive reaction to put on what members request, is there at least 10 to 15 members who enjoy having the variety of TV, not being censored.

It’s nearly impossible to cancel my gym membership. I have called 3 times. Each time they say I have to wait another billing cycle to cancel. Which would mean being charged again. Super rude policy.

If you are looking for a small, clean and friendly gym with all the equipment you need, Fitness 19 is a solid choice.
I am enjoying the staff and find them to be helpful and interested in a client's individual fitness needs. I have engaged one of the staff as a personal trainer and they have been knowledgeable and pleasant to work with.

This is a smaller space gym, but they have arranged it very efficiently. I like the turf area where you can do a lot of exercises, use the sled or battle ropes. 2 Hydro massage chairs, red light room. Staff is friendly and available. Nice restaurants and smoothie place nearby. 2 EV chargers in parking lot but almost always taken.

Customers, Only if they'd stay off their phones, we could use the machines more and enjoy a bit better. Instead, it is a place to do 1 set for 3 minutes and stream for 10 minutes. When I use my phone, I go to the sofa or step outside to chat. I am civilized that way.

Been lifting here for the last 7 years & sure the gym is a little small but as a competitive powerlifter I can tell you that it 100% has everything you need to get big, gain strength, or lose weight. Plus every generation of staff has been good to me, they all have very positive energy, are enjoyable to be around, & they've actually taken care of me & treated me like family when I needed it (I'm type one diabetic and they've given me Gatorades for free when my blood sugar is low).

I should have read the reviews before signing up for my "Free 30-Day Trial" with "No Commitment. No Enrollment Fees. No Dues...", when in reality I attempted to cancel my membership and was told I had to pay a future month's membership dues when I did not intend to use the facilities. Probably one of the most predatory marketing and pricing schemes I have ever seen. It's a shame, because the gym itself is decent (if you can get over the fact of it being at max occupancy between 5-6:30 PM Monday through Friday). Adding this review as a warning to others to not fall for this scam! Unfortunately, it looks like others here in the reviews have had this issue as well :( Oh and lastly, you will need to email or call someone to cancel your membership, there is no way to do it yourself through the application without paying a fee. Overall a supremely frustrating process and system to work with.

UPDATE 11/5/2024: Looks like the response was them saying they did not advertise a 30 day trial. I posted a picture of the advertisement from Fitness 19 that I received when I signed up that quotes this “no commitment + no enrollment + no dues for 30 days” just for my own sanity in making sure I did indeed receive false advertising (or at the very least, manipulative marketing schemes). But I appreciate Fitness 19 trying to prove me wrong instead of helping me :)

Fitness 19 is one of the best places to workout. Its not overly crowded, and theres plenty of machines to use to get a great workout in. The management and staff is amazing and any problems i’ve had Alexi is always eager to help. If you haven't tried personal training there, i’d highly recommend it. The trainers are so good, and really helped motivate me to come in. Other places are so much more expensive, and this gym really makes sure it stays affordable and in your budget. Hello! I love my Fitness 19-HERE in Thousand Oaks *Oakbrook Plaza. The gym let's an individual focus on their workout. (The me time). It's always clean and the staff really helps you out when you need some assistance with anything. The managers Alexia and Jeff are very pleasant and run the club very well. The staff always helps with issues like the T.V., channels machines and a lot more. This is where I come to relax. Being a former tennis player -*severe training - a athlete still needs to continue doing the cardio and weight training. The trainers are terrific at this gym. (They help with training the members and they talk about the importance of NUTRITION, too)!!

The worst company ever! They see you as cash cow. When you get in their hunting circle, thet drain your pocket as much as they can. There are a lot of facilities around the area, those will make you feel human, not like walking cash pocket. Dont sign up before read every details in their aggreement. This guy Steven Cao is a fraud, twice now he has responded to my review saying he will sort out the issues I had terminating my membership at this Fitness 19 and nothing has happened. I can't believe how unprofessional this has been. My first review was simply explaining the frustration I had with being put into a yearly contract when I specifically asked for a one month membership. Very clean gym on the smaller side comparing other fitness 19 gyms I’ve visited. NO SHOWERS! That was disappointing to find out. This company is absolutely awful. There process to cancel services is horrendous. I called to cancel my membership and was told I needed to email my request in. The person I spoke with gave me the wrong account number and now I’ve had to deal with an incompetent customer service team.

It’s been 6 months that I’ve contributed to be charged. Now that I’m requesting a refund they want to hind me accountable for their own employees mistakes in giving me the wrong account number to close.

The account number the employee gave me over the phone was for a completely different location that I had not been to in over 2 years and that account was indisputably closed. So rather than using common sense to know I need to close the active account they want to continue to charge me and say I never asked for closure. Even though I sent them their own confirmation email back to them telling them I did indeed request to close. Thanks for nothing. If I could give negative stars I would. Worst experience by far. I’d rather pay the money at 24 hour fitness or Gold gym to actually deal with people who have common sense.

What an absolute joke this place is with memberships though. I was in the Thousand Oaks region working for the months of May and June and got my membership at the end of May to run until the end of June when I would be leaving California. I SPECIFICALLY asked for a one month membership and was told that would be possible so I paid and signed a contract to pay for the one month. I then use my month long membership (paying for premium without even knowing it) and assume ok I left my membership expired, all good. Turns out they're running the most beautiful scam where you have to cancel with 30 days notice and can't get out paying while the clock is ticking. This of course was not mentioned to me when I signed the initial contract thinking I'd just be paying for one month.

I'm thoroughly let down that I was told I could get a simple 1 month membership and next thing you know I'm receiving charges months later.

I would not recommend this gym to anyone. I have been a member at many different gyms and this has by far been my worst experience at any gym. I love going to the gym but this place limited my desire. You will always have to wait for a squat rack or any equipment in general, it is crowded no matter what time of day you go in (I have gone in early mornings, mid day, and evenings and always have the same experience). This gym is also missing key machines that other gyms offer. Additionally, this gym does not feel professional at all, and feels more like it is run by high schoolers. Lastly, when going to cancel my membership I had to pay for two additional months because the cancellation process is awful. I am never one to write a review on sites, but felt it was necessary to explain my experience.

What can I say about the Thousand Oaks fitness19, the best location in Ventura county hands down. No other location compares in cleanliness, customer satisfaction, and the overwhelming feeling that they genuinely care about their members. Well ventilated and open spaces make you feel safe. Lots of different types of people here all just working out. Felt very at ease with the staff and showing me how to use machines, as I am 74 years old and a first-time gym rat. Fell in love with the recumbent bicycle and the hydro-massage chairs! Never seen a gym staff so oblivious and arbitrary. Go here if you want to be chastised and have the police called on you for not wearing a mask, meanwhile they have many patrons wearing a mask below their chin. They also have many employees who do the same yet they will approach you on the cardio equipment and request you wear a mask. Then they will tell you to cover your nose and mouth. Enough is enough, I cancelled my membership here and I hope they either get their act together or close. One of the staff members called the POLICE on me for refusing to wear a mask as I was one minute away from finishing my intense cardio workout and leaving the premises. He asked for my name and tried to see my license plate number on my car by watching me outside the gym premises. This is the worst business experience I have ever had.

It is a sad state of affairs today, however we should not be divided on the issue of wearing masks at a gym of all places. If you want to wear a mask at the gym, go for it, if not, don’t. You should not be reprimanded for violating a county mandate which is not a law, especially from a business that you pay to use. This is not LA county where they have lost their minds but this location seems to want to be. If I could give 0 stars I would.

When I first signed up at fitness 19 I did really liked the team, they’re extremely nice, but i personally didn’t like how pushy they were when it came to sign up with personal trainers. I told an assistant manager and personal trainer that I couldn’t financially afford to have a personal trainer, and then obligated me to get a second job. I didn’t get to chose how many days, to be trained they just did that within themselves. I told them to freeze my account until I was ready, and still charged me. Now they charged me $420 dollars, for a personal trainerTHAT I TRIED CANCELING multiple times, tried to make me fault for not signing the documents to cancel it, but when I did go to sign the documents the manager wasn’t there. Now that we finally spoke after trying to get of hold of the manager for weeks, and had the audacity to tell me she got in trouble for reducing my training hours when all I wanted was my money back, and cancellation months ago.!! My rate for fitness 19 is -5/5 of how bad they are about personal trainers and frustrated how didn’t get money back which caused me to be in financial crisis!

Negative experience!
This place should be ashamed they are literally robbing people of their hard earned money.
Unfair billing and unethical business practice. They do not make it clear about cancellation fees. The managers are very condescending when you try to talk about your issues.

My friend is struggling with getting his 840 dollars reimbursed. The gym is not returning 840 dollars. He signed up for 2 months off personal training but they put him on a recurring payment. He can no longer work out because he is getting a hi replacement.

If I could give this place a 0 stars I would. Terrible place to do business with. Signed up for personal training sessions for two months . The price was 840 dollars a month, was not told that I was going to be put on recurring monthly payments. I told my trainer that I was only doing two months because I was getting a hip replacement. I woke up August with a third payment of 840 dollars . I went to talk to them and they basically told me that I was suppose to cancel 30 days in advance. To my knowledge the trainer told me if I canceled there would be a 50 dollar fee, not a 840 dollars. 840 dollars is too much money to walk away from. Now I'm going back and forth with the bank in the hopes that they would reimburse me the money but they won't do it. There are countless of people here with the same issue , fitness 19 even has a class action lawsuit for doing similar things to their clients. Just take your business elsewhere.

This gym handled the COVID situation very well I feel very safe. The employees ensure everyone wears a mask and is abiding by the rules of the mandate.
