It is less than a mile from my home, but…it’s open 24/7, I’ve never had to wait for a machine (it does get crowded at times), and it’s a very secure facility. I’ve always encountered a pleasant group of people to boot.

Nice little family-owned gym, no annual fees, and all they have machines and weights needed for a full workout. Gordon was also very nice and a pleasure to talk to. Would recommend for anyone who doesn't want to drive all the way to Auburn or Grass Valley.

I’ve been to this gym 15 times, four of which I have used the facilities in a few weeks. The owner was supposed to give me a key but has not. He asks me to show up at 11:00am several times and he didn’t show up. Then he changed it to 10:00am and showed up once. He said he doesn’t have time to call anyone to say he won’t be there. I understand that his wife is sick but No apologies or call and apparently he’s been doing it for years. This is unacceptable. He said this isn’t his website and he doesn’t monitor it. WHAT is it gonna take to get a key? I’ve filled out all his paperwork and even got my doctors office to call and give a medical release. At the time I told someone in the gym (the door was open because the electricity iwas off) that I had been to the gym five times that he didn’t show up and it got back to him that I mentioned it. He said I heard I was bad mouthing him which I didn’t. I just said the above. Perhaps he won’t let me join and I will have to drive to Auburn to go to a gym however, I do live in Colfax. EDIT: I just showed up for the 15th time and he was there. He started to go into a speach about I told you my wife is sick and I’m not always here. Bla bla bla. Then said this isn’t going to work. Why because I spoke to two people at the gym that he is supppose to show up and didn’t? I said you don’t care about my feelings or time for showing up and him standing me up. He will not take responsibility for how he treats people, not apologize. But will criticize you. He said he only cares about his wife. And he’s running a service oriented business. Typical sociopath. Also, he upfront offered me a free membership because I’m disabled and said he offers this with 40-50 of his members. In a manner of trying to make himself look good. And said but don’t tell anyone. Then treats me and others like this. I called him names and he said I was a horrible person. So perhaps if you pay and bow down to his anti social personality behaviors you can get a key and workout without having to interact with him. But when you need to cancel I’ve read that can take a lot of time because he does not respond to cancel your auto payment from your checking account. I knew this upfront and why I didn’t care to join because he wasn’t going to charge me. I wasn’t going to let him disrespect me without telling him but he practically didn’t even let me speak. That’s how controlling and domineering he can be. Only he knows how many people he has treated terribly and it’s not posted on reviews. Yet he acts like his self serving behavior is new. Don’t let him fool you!!!

I haven’t even been to this gym. I tried calling 2 different numbers several times to find out if they have a non-member Day use fee. From the looks of the comments over the years, they still have poor communication and bad service! Have one phone number to call and maybe answer it? You mind find you will have better business that way. I DONT RECOMMEND!
