It’s no loner Fitness Evolution (thank goodness). New owners and new name ... FitNation. This time I do not have to worry that I and being scammed or ripped off. Been there for 3 of the FitNation classes, and I am loving it! Purchased a 2 year pre-paid plan, which saved me over $500.00. I so happy to have this option in my Neighborhood

Nice big gym with a great selection of free weights, strength and conditioning and cardio machines. A day pass cost us $20 each visit which I feel is a bit pricey for where it is. Reception staff were OK, nothing to shout about. I would have liked to have been shown around and engaged with more. However, the facilities are great and I did have a really good work out.

Staff has improved dramatically, always friendly now! Always seem ready to help! Not allot of room to do standing free weights, but machine selection isn’t bad and they have plenty of cardio machines. It can get a little crowded but for the price this place can’t be beat!

Never notified of amenity changes. I had to find out by chance. No notice of payments changing. They were still charging me the same amount for everything. Even better, I had to pay a cancellation fee to drop my membership. Myself and the family went to in shape. We love it! Highly recommend the one on Mchenry.

Horrible customer service at corporate level - received an email saying a major portion of my membership was going to be eliminated, but come on in to reduce or upgrade my plan. Did so only to find I have to pay them to downgrade - despite it being FE in breach of contract. Um no. And oh yes - they also tried charging me to cancel my membership all together.

The equipment is adequate, just no enforcement on the weights going back to the right slots. Over time this creates an every day irritation when 80 lb weights are were the 20s are or even worse, separate. Dry/wet sona is nice. Cardio could be updated to newer equipment but not bad. New look is a plus. The management could step it up. The customer service is way to irregular. One day it's right on perfect and then it's just bla with a bad taste in your mouth. I think the training of the staff could be the issue and that steps from a culture and management problem. Location is great right off a main road. Hours are pretty good.

Nice clean gym. My Trainer Devondre is the best. He motivates me to come and has taught me more in 2 months than I would have learned in 2 years. He also taught me how to exercise at home for the days I am unable to come to the gym.

Been here for about 6 years havent had a problem, love the environment, people, and atmosphere. Recently started personal training with Gabe and Mark. They know what they are doing, very knowledgable and friendly. They also dont get annoyed when i ask a million questions! By far the best trainers and health coaches.

I went in to start a new membership & was led to the personal trainers. First of all, thank goodness I can get my money back from that lack of experience as the trainer forgot about me on our first meeting... I was early checking in, so I jumped on a treadmill as I watched him help another client... So, 15 min or so later I checked in again and left a note and approached him to mention I'm cancelling our sessions. I have exactly 5 days to cancel those terms... Secondly, there was a gal at the front desk who was overly hyper & had a strong hand shake. This isn't a job interview so I didn't try... Anyways, as I over heard her speaking to another member and as soon as that member exited - she quickly turned with a seriously rude/sour face as if what she said to her wasn't truthful; about looking good. ugh. I said, nothing as it wasn't my fight but yah I wasn't impressed at all with that... Be grown up and respectful that's all!! Kids are running this place and that hairy guy is still standing around doing nothing lol.

Joined because the staff and the people in the gym are by far the kindest people. I drive 30 mins every day just to get to this gym.

It is not a contract it is month to month membership. However you do have to give a 30 day notice. You have to go in before your billing date, pay whatever is due within the next 30 days ( that is the last payment that is recieved) and also sign a form which removes billing information from the system. 60 days after you sign up there is an annual rate guarantee fee. That guarantees your rate will not increase that is charged 1s a year every year as long as you are a member. Most people don't even read what they're signing kind of ignorant from their part.

I signed up for the gym and they as well as others said that I could cancel whenever I wanted to that it was a month to month. Now they're telling me that I can't cancel unless I send them a letter, make ano appointment with their manager or pay the to end contract fees. I was also charged for a feed that I was never told about, my yearly feed which I thought wasn't supposed to be charged since it's a month to month thing. I was never told this by the time I signed up to the gym. All I can do at the moment is freeze my account until I can actually do something about. This gym lies and is not as honest as they say they are. DON'T go to it!!

I am trying to cancel my membership at Fitness Evolution and it has been a nightmare. I have sent letters to the gym (as per their request) to cancel my membership. They are continuing to charge me for my membership. When I originally signed up with the gym I was told I could cancel at anytime with no obligation. Yesterday Nov.19, 2015 , corporate offices called to tell me that I now owe over $200 dollars and that I could not cancel my membership and it will go to collections! This is not good business. This is not the way to get a good reputation, I am telling all my friends to stay away from Fitness Evolution!

When I signed up I was told that I was signing a liability waiver but now they are trying say that is was contract.

They told a bold face lie when I signed up. They are dishonest scammers.

The Good : The gym itself is a good gym. The Bad : You may be lied to and ripped off, I signed up in May I believe, I paid a initial charge of lets say $8 until I officially was allowed to sign up/verify my enrollment the next day, no problem $24 dollars a month in advance. Upon sign-up I was told I can bring my underage children, age 15 16 and 17 along with me as long as they had ID. August rolls around, payment was auto deducted around the 3rd of every month, on the 12th of August I brought with me my 16 yr old and was told we could not work out, I showed the ID and I was told we weren't allowed because he's underage. I explained I went over this upon signup but was told sorry no (can't a parent sign a Release of Liability form?) I asked to cancel and was given a appointment a week later with the same asst manager that gave me the appointment to officially cancel. Today the 19th was forced to pay next months $24 plus a $39 charge for A RATE LOCK so my payments WONT change!!! Wow, nice atmosphere horrible customer service.

If you are considering joining this gym, DONT!! Heed my warning or it could $COST YOU$.
After moving back into town I was considering reactivating my Golds Gym, now Fit U membership that I had canceled back in 2010. When Inquiring about this at the front desk the manager told me that my previous membership was in collections. When I contacted the member services regarding this situation they notified me that the fees we due to ongoing membership charges due to my not canceling the gym. I was not surprised. I and numerous others in our small community had had problems before during their time with Gold's for them not posting payments accurately, charging hidden fees and so called "extras", as well as making changes to accounts with out notifying members. So I made it a hard habit to keep my receipts. Member services asked that I supply them with my termination notice in order to resolve the outstanding fees. I happily and promptly and supplied them with My written copy of my termination signed and dated for cancellation on 9/8/2010. Once received they said the would not honor it and told me, verbatim, "Even with a written termination we are not obligated to cancel your membership."
As Stated from the Current Fit U front desk agent, among others: Gold's Gym name was taken over for bad business practices.
So,to you who are considering a membership be warned that the sales and billing department employees are still practicing the same shady tactics as before. My account was in good standing at the time of my cancellation and I had supplied them with all the information they requested in order to resolve this issue, yet they blatantly informed me that they would not resolve this issue. I could deal with a little misunderstanding but Fit U and Gold's Gym took It too far.
