Before training with Greg, I was feeling intimidated in the weight room. Struggling to build strength and with little motivation to go to the gym. Now i feel better, the trainer Greg has been working on my core strength. I still have a long way to go (only one month in) but i can feel my core strength and balance have improved. Greg is patient, and explains the science behind each exercise. He has a great balance of being encouraging while pushing me to do my best. I highly recommend Greg with Fitness Together on Bernardo Center Dr. to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and supportive trainer.

Shout out to Greg and Jared at Fitness Together for offering an excellent personal training service. I am super active but struggled to incorporate weight training into my routine. Greg took the time to understand my past injuries (knee, shoulder, herniated disk) and understand my goals. He then set up a program and it has been amazing. I feel so much stronger and have not had a single issue with injury. Jared, another trainer at FT, also creates fun, challenging workouts that I would never have the discipline to do on my own. This is an excellent gym with highly credentialed and experienced trainers. I came to them because I wanted a trainer who could be meticulous about correcting my form and make science-backed recommendations based on my specific goals and areas of improvement, and Greg and his team delivered! I was self-conscious coming in because I don’t have much fitness experience, but the team here are all incredibly positive and reaffirming while still making sure I do things the right way.
I’ve worked primarily with Eric for months now, who is also a physical therapist, and he has been great. My back pain has gone away, I no longer pull muscles as easily, and most importantly, when I got pregnant, he adjusted my plan to make sure I was safe while still aligning with my fitness goals, AND preventing common aches and pains that pregnant women often face, with clear explanations for the reasons behind every move. He not only drew from his own education and experience working with pregnant women, but even tapped his network of physical therapists to help design pregnancy-specific exercises for me; it’s care like that that makes me confident I am in good hands. I highly recommend him, or any of the trainers at Fitness Together.

personal training with a few amazing trainers here. Came here to learn more about having proper form when exercising. The owner Greg taught me a lot of importance on form, core stability. Awesome trainers like Laura, who has helped me a lot with showing me the right forms for doing squats, deadlifts and many more exercises. Until this point, I was afraid of doing deadlifts/any back exercises due to risk of injury. These folks really dispelled the fear and gave me a lot of confidence. Special shout out to Jared as well, who gave great tips and improved my form in my fitness journey. If you're starting out as a noob, this is definitely a place to consider.
Great things going here are the great trainers, flexible time slots for training and a great companion app for tracking your goals. Only caveat is that you should've an external gym membership.

I have been with Fitness together for over 8 years now. Greg Sterner's (owner) methods, knowledge and Physical Therapy background have helped me stay active and work through my sports injuries. I highly recommend going to fitness together whether you just want to get in shape or you are healing from an injury . I have been training with Greg and some of the other trainers for about 3 years now and I feel great! I started because I tore my ACL skiing and wanted to get stronger before having it repaired. Greg got me skiing again! After that I continued with fitness together because I enjoyed the varied functional workouts and I needed the accountability of someone watching me. I have tried and failed to work out on my own and I’m done feeling bad about it. This works for me and I’m in better shape than I’ve been since I was 20. I just turned 50 and my strength, balance, and flexibility is better than ever!

I’ve been a client at Fitness Together for three months now and it’s been a great experience! Greg and Laura are knowledgeable, supportive, and keep the workouts fun.
Two things that set them apart from other gyms I’ve been at :
1. Super flexible with session times. They really work with me and my crazy schedule to ensure I can get my workouts in. They also give me customized workouts to do at home on non-gym days.
2. Focus on safety. Greg starts the relationship by asking about prior workout history and injuries. During every workout the trainers are cognizant of my injuries and modify any exercise as needed.
The team is truly invested in my health and wellness, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to get fit!

I’m beginning my 3rd month of training with Greg. I’m very happy with his approach and the results that I’m seeing and feeling with my body. I have had many years of painful knee issues and after numerous surgeries was still struggling with pain and swelling. Greg uses both his physical therapy and strength training expertise to develop plans specifically to me. Every session is different so it’s never boring. He pushes me without being mean but also encourages me to push through the hard stuff. I would highly recommend him and the others at this gym. I can’t recommend Fitness Together and my personal trainer, Greg, enough! When I first started, I was hesitant to strength train because of a bulging disc in my lower back and a sore left shoulder. As a dentist, my poor posture and the demands of my job had taken a toll on my body. My goal was to lose weight while maintaining muscle mass and improving my posture.
Greg has been amazing from day one. He carefully demonstrated each exercise and closely monitored my form to ensure I was doing everything safely and correctly. He tailored the workouts to my specific needs and limitations, which gave me the confidence to push myself without fear of injury.

I have been training at RB Fitness Together in Rancho Bernardo for over 15 years and have enjoyed my time working with them. Fitness Together is a big part of my long-term fitness goals to maintain my strength and flexibility as I get older. I personally dislike the large open gym experience and having to compete for space and equipment. Having a dedicated trainer helps me get the most benefit for my time, and insures that I am exercising safely and effectively.
As a sport-oriented physical therapist, the owner, Greg Sterner, is particularly qualified to develop exercise and strengthening plans to address injuries. He has been of significant help to me following my recent rotator cuff surgery.
The facility is clean and inviting and has individual workout rooms that are dedicated to you and your trainer. They also have cardio equipment (treadmill, bicycle, elliptical machines, and rowing machines) that you can use before and after your sessions.
The trainers are very friendly and focused on helping you with your particular goals, even if they are general issues like improving your balance and overall health. They even offer nutritional information and advice if you are interested.

My husband and I wanted to find a place to workout that had a trainer that would push us when we need pushing, keep us accountable, and also know when we need more PT/stretch/yoga/Pilates type activities worked in around weight training and cardio. We had an intro workout with Greg at Fitness Together and left feeling invigorated. That was about 3+ months ago. We have since gotten stronger, more agile, and are starting to feel the changes in our bodies. We very much enjoy our trainer Kevin...he's personable, knowledgeable and fun. He also really pushes us and educates us while we're doing specific exercises. We couldn't have asked for a better option to get back into shape and learn how to stay in shape.
Previous to becoming clients of Fitness Together, we had our gym membership and always thought "we'll go...we'll do what we're supposed to". But like so many people, we just didn't. Looking back at how much money we spent on a gym membership that we didn't use feeling crappier and crappier because our bodies were becoming less and less healthy, we feel like we should have done this a while ago.
Location is convenient to where we live/work. We show up, put in the work, and are now starting to do more outside of our appts to get into more of a habit of taking care of ourselves. Fitness Together has helped us get back on track, and we're excited to see where things will be in a year as we continue our health/fitness journey.

I have severe back vertebrae stenosis, and the pain is unbearable. To add to this, arthritis doesn't help. I found Fitness Together at Rancho Bernardo while searching for the next steps when all other measures had not helped me much. Words are short to describe the commitment and the hard work my Fitness Together instructor, Angela showed me! She is an incredible fitness instructor and even a better human being. I have been so happy with my training with her these past few months. I came into the studio as a last resort, and after trying many other things, like acupuncture, massages, physiotherapy, and of course, foremost consultation with various doctors. My husband and I needed to get back in shape after covid and after being diagnosed with early osteoporosis and having chronic leg and neck pain. I've been training with Carlos for about 6 months and it's been such a worthwhile investment in myself. I hadn’t worked out with any consistency in years and it didn’t take long working with Carlos to get stronger and leaner and excited about strength training in a way that previously felt out of reach.
I do partner sessions with a friend which is fun and adds accountability. We both had babies early in the pandemic (on top of toddlers at home) and desperately needed help kickstarting a fitness routine and prioritizing our health and sanity! Carving out time for ourselves each week at Fitness Together has made a huge difference.
We've trained with several trainers (Carlos, Greg and Heather) and they’re all excellent. We appreciate how accommodating they have been with our ever-changing schedules. We've largely trained with Carlos who’s awesome - very knowledgeable, encouraging and fun to train with. (did I mention patient?)
Would highly recommend FT to anyone looking for a small studio and the kind of 1:1 attention that drives results.

At the Rancho Bernardo Fitness Together gym, I had the pleasure of working with the trainer Carlos. He was so helpful with helping me focus on my needs. I love the one on one training and the personal attention from a smaller gym. I’ve used trainers in other gyms and this is the first time I’ve wanted to continue after my initial sessions. Faith has been great at teaching me how to exercise correctly varying the methods so I don’t get bored. Her nutrition tips, just a couple of small changes, were easy to incorporate and spot on. I came to Fitness Together because I was looking for a fitness trainer who has a physical therapy background. Greg has both qualities and it worked out very well. I tore my meniscus in March 2021 and had surgery in June. Traditional PT was not enough and tough to do with my work schedule. Greg and his team have flexible hours and each workout session has been amazing. My goal is to get back to jogging fun runs and hiking, and I feel strong, confident, and can have much better mobility and flexibility. Greg provides short physical therapy sessions on my knee and Achilles after my workouts too. It’s been a great choice for me and can’t wait to be back to my more active self!

I have been training with Fitness Together for about 4 months. I was hesitant to start training anywhere at all - most of the trainers I talked to at other businesses either wanted me to do an intense regimen with before and after photos (you know the type) or the polar opposite, where any goal I set was fine and I could sit and drink water for an hour and as long as I was happy, then okay.
Fitness Together is blessedly neither of those. I’ve worked with three trainers there (to fit my scheduling needs) and all of them care about my goals and health, encourage me to lead a healthy and balanced life, and also push me the right amount to work hard and feel empowered by progress. My goals are functional: I want to be able to lift my giant kids without back pain, hike for longer, swim and run and play and feel better. And after 4 months, my ability to do all of those is so vastly improved. (And yes, my clothes fit better too.)
I am energized to come here every time. Whether so need to let out some energy on the iron or have energy restored with movement, I 100% feel better and stronger every time I come. I trust Carlos, Greg, and Faith and know I’m in good hands with their instruction and encouragement.
Oh - side note: the gym is super clean, equipment pristine, and the privacy can’t be beat! I highly recommend FT.

I’ve been training at Fitness Together for almost a month now and really enjoy the sessions in a safe facility. They also offer a weekend boot camp that’s also great. Greg and Joanna are awesome.

As a new member, and still rehabbing my new knee, I have really appreciated Greg’s thorough medical review with me before beginning my plan. My daughter is also going to the Rancho BernardoFitness Together location and working with Greg on lumbar and core weakness that has caused issues. Joanna was excellent in following up my initial call and helping us get set up for our consultations . So far, we both think we have a good plan to improve our strength and fitness. Five stars, Greg!

I've been working with Charlie for a while now and Spencer more recently since he has started with Fitness Together and I absolutely love being there. The whole staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I have seen a ton of improvement not just in my strength but my physical health in general which in turn has really helped improve my mood and life all around.
The addition of Chris has been a wonderful addition .

I've been with Fitness Together (Rancho Bernardo) for the last 6 months. I've tried other gyms in the past (LA Fitness, 24 hour Fitness) but this was my first experience with a private trainer. I can tell you there is simply no comparison. I see my trainer Spencer three times a week and with each session I've seen terrific gains in endurance, muscle growth, and flexibility. It's so cool to hear my friends and family constantly ask me, "Have you been working out?"
Their facilities and equipment are top notch and the atmosphere is wonderful. I consider my trainer Spencer as my health partner and it's obvious he loves to see his clients succeed. I'm 51 years old and I can safely say that because of Fitness Together I'm in the best shape of my life.

I have been coming to Fitness Together for over two years with great results. I usually do the group workout with a friend and we both love the personalized training. I have worked with the owner Charlie, Carmelita, Anthony and the newest trainer, Spencer. Every one of them is encouraging and supportive and sets up a challenging, productive workout. My fitness level and health have improved noticeably in the past two years, and an added bonus has been meeting and becoming friends with other clients. This gym has a personal, friendly atmosphere, and that makes working out that much better.

My daughter is a junior golfer and she started working with Charlie's crew since 2012.
Her trainer had been working with her on overall fitness including core, balance, and strength training. She is constantly hitting over 230-240 yard drives and it is a result of strong core and good balance training. I am extremely happy with how they were able to develop balance and strength yet maintain flexibility. She works out twice a week and three time a week during the summer and they push her hard and she enjoys her workouts.
