About the Club

Love yourself enough to exercise, today! I created a welcoming, body-positive studio for all ages and abilities, but specifically catering to a more mature female clientele. My small group classes will help you work in all fitness "zones" - cardio, strength, endurance, balance and flexibility - so you can do more of what you love and feel better doing it!

I chose Rachel last year when I was looking for a trainer who was authentically body positive. As a very large, more than middle-aged woman, who is physically “pfft” I really needed a safe space to help me slowly dip my toe in the water of regular exercise. Rachel has been a godsend! After eight months of just twice a week sessions, I really notice the difference— with less pain and more strength in my every day activities. She makes it fun and stress-free even as she motivates me to work hard. I never thought I would be able to keep a consistent exercise program going, but I am! Do yourself a favor and call her now.

I've been working out at Fitness with Rachel since 2010, and I love it! Rachel is amazing because she helps you adapt the workout to your fitness level, regardless of where it is. I've seen people of all ages and fitness levels at her studio, and even if you have back issues (like me) or knee problems or are recovering from a sprained wrist or ankle, Rachel can give you modifications in class so that you can safely exercise.

In particular, her Pelvicore class actually has various exercises that my physical therapist recommended (which I have a hard time motivating myself to do regularly on my own) so attending that class on a regular basis has really helped me manage my low-back pain and strengthen my core. And her Tabata and Barre classes have done wonders to build up my core strength as well as overall body strength.

Her foam rolling class is an amazing gift you can give your body each Saturday morning, to work out all the stress and tightness from the week and get a relaxing start to the weekend. And her dance fitness classes are a lot of fun, no prior dance experience or even coordination required!

The workouts are always changing, which keeps workouts from feeling stale. I like that her studio has a wide variety of class types from dance fitness to cardio to strength to yoga, so there is something for everyone, and the opportunity to try something new and mix things up. I strongly recommend you try Fitness with Rachel!

My wife and I have been training with Rachel for five years and she's the BEST! The workouts are always fun and she mixes them up so you don't get bored doing the same repetitions week after week. There are a wide variety of classes including HIIT, high & low intensity dance exercise, yoga and others. Stay FIT at Fitness with Rachel!!

Classes are always so fun that I do not notice how much I am sweating. It is more like dancing than exercise, but it is great for fitness.

I absolutely love going to Rachel's class. I am 73 and thought my dancing days were over. But I am so happy to be able to move to music at a pace that is comfortable for my body and soul. Rachel is an excellent instructor and we all have fun in a supportive environment.

I would recommend Fitness with Rachel to anyone who wants a great workout in a short amount of time. The sessions are 30 minutes in length with a variety of classes to choose from. You’ll enjoy the variety of music and the personal attention in a small class. Do give Rachel a try , you’ll not be disappointed.

A friend recommended Fitness with Rachel to me because I was having a hard time finding a FUN and low-impact aerobics class in Goleta. FwR has been perfect!
Keep in mind that this is a small one-studio business and NOT a gym. There are (I am assuming quite deliberately) NO mirrors. The interior is very plain...no distractions. The music selection is great and rotated regularly. Rachel is a great dancer and is always smiling.
The 9am class is primarily an older group and very welcoming to all ages and body types.
The cost of classes is a bit more than a gym membership, but Rachel has a great new client special to try it out before committing. RECOMMEND!!

Rachel offers a wide variety of classes that can suit all ages and fitness levels. She installed spring floors so it is easy on your joints and offers complimentary classes like Zumba followed by yoga to stretch out. The fitness community Rachel has nurtured is very friendly and supportive.
