Santa Monica's best kept secret.
If you asked me 6 months ago that I'd go to the gym every day AND enjoy it, I'd think you were CRAZY! Before Fitstop, I never lifted a barbell in my life. The atmosphere is so welcoming to all levels, and I can't believe the progress I've made (with no short cuts). The excellent coaches (S/O to Johnnie and Semaj) make sure you are doing movements the right way to avoid injury but also to make sure to properly strengthen the correct muscles. You rarely work out alone and partners help keep me going. The team/group aspect plus the incredible, well-vetted trainers makes this the best gym! It doesn't hurt that the facility is clean and rarely crowded.

I've absolutely loved my classes at Fitstop Santa Monica! I've taken 5+ lifting classes with Semaj and she is truly a phenomenal coach. Not only is she an athlete, Semaj is skilled at recommended adjustments and always down for a good laugh! It's a modern and high-tech space with clean equipment. Good vibes all around. Great for beginners or "living legends." This has become a new favorite highlight of my week!

Pro Tips:
- There's a large free parking lot next to the studio!
- They're on ClassPass, which is awesome if you want to give it a try.

FitStop is fantastic! Semaj is the absolute best coach who corrects you in the most productive way. She allows you to feel like you can get to the right form in your own time and way. I needed a class that felt like a tough but no stress, no ego workout. FitStop has a parking lot(HUGE), multiple bathrooms(also HUGE), good music and constantly changing exercises that keep you engaged.

As someone who did not have an athletic background/had not been to a gym like this before, Fitstop has been a game changer! From day one, the trainers were so welcoming, attentive, and upbeat, making it easy to overcome my initial nerves. The members are all incredibly supportive, creating an encouraging atmosphere where everyone lifts each other up. It’s such a fun, positive community. Highly recommend!

If you are looking to push your fitness to a new level, I would definitely FitStop Santa Monica a try. After 2 months of training, I am still happily walking daily to the studio to get healthier and stronger.

All coaches are knowledgeable and attentive; they have been extremely caring about my past injuries and able to guide me through exercises and/or modifications in order to keep building strength and pushing myself.

The facility is always spotless and all around equipment are top quality.

I was scrolling on Facebook and saw an ad offering me five free classes. I signed up as I'm trying to get back into shape and lose weight. I have a fitness background and do many different things now; Barry's Bootcamp, CrossFit, jogging, long walks, Hot Yoga, Pilates, Santa Monica stairs (free and always available!), etc.
Fitstop is a lot like CrossFit, and there is a large group and one trainer, a designed workout that is meant to help you become stronger and healthier and to challenge yourself—weightlifting and aerobic exercise, including a warm-up and a cool-down.
The facility itself is excellent, with bathrooms and two spotless showers. Lockers. Free unlimited parking right outside their studio.

The trainers were very enthusiastic throughout the class. They demonstrated the movements well, but there needed to be more thorough technique corrections throughout the class.
When I was there, there were 15+ people with only one coach. It wouldn't hurt to add another coach who can walk around and ensure that athletes move their bodies correctly while performing each movement, especially when working with weights!

Beautiful location with great trainers! The team-based approach allows you to foster new connections and it makes for an amazing community atmosphere. The 12 week programming is thoughtful and leans into strength training. We actually get to use barbells here in an accessible way. Fills a much needed group fitness gap on the west side. Go check it out!

A new, fun, effective, and welcoming group fitness program that hails from Australia. Think F45 but with actual and true strength training as part of the programming. Workouts are split into four categories: Perform and Lift (each two days a week), Conditioning (on Wednesdays), and Sweat (on Saturday’s). All workouts are structured keeping it simple/easy to understand with written instructions and video demonstrations; where you work in groups of 2-4, which helps to meet people and build community. Instructors/Coaches are positive/upbeat and assisting/adjusting/providing modifications the whole time, providing a semi personal training experience.
