LOVE this local small business studio! This is the most consistent I’ve been at the gym since joining 3 years ago because there’s always something new to try! I never get bored and am able to switch between Pilates, Barre, Strength, and Bootcamps. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area.

I came into Flexx studios because I just moved to the neighborhood and wanted some information on classes. From the moment I walked in, the front desk associate was so helpful. I had a few questions about memberships, and she walked me through all the options with such clarity and patience. They offer such a variety of classes and have such an amazing studio! The front desk associates communication was on point, and she made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Emily is such a great first impression for the studio!

I loved the variety of this place and Bo was the best instructor there but I have noticed the turnover with instructors and front desk girls is quite quick. I find it slightly annoying when a new instructor comes in and they’re learning the room and the space and it kinda doesn’t feel like a great workout. I had to teach a new instructor how to open the wipes holder once. I ending my membership which was a bit of a nightmare but it worked out in the end. I’ve also noticed the owner deletes bad reviews on Google and yelp. If that doesn’t scream red flag I don’t know what else would. Ended up trying out Barry’s and club pilates in the area and I love it.

I've been attending FLEXXFormer XX classes for a few months and have really enjoyed the experience, especially with instructors Aileen and Fiona, who provide great constructive feedback on form and movement. However, I had a disappointing experience today that has made me reconsider continuing with this studio.

I arrived at the studio at 6:05 PM for my Pilates class, but the front desk staff insisted it was 6:06 PM and refused to let me in due to the late policy. I even showed them the time on my phone and the studio clock, both of which displayed 6:05 PM, but she still would not make an exception. To make matters worse, I later received a $20 no-show fee.

While I respect policies, I believe there should be some flexibility and understanding, especially when there's a discrepancy in time. Unfortunately, this experience has left me feeling undervalued as a client. I plan to finish my current 8-class pass and will be looking for a studio that prioritizes both structure and respect for its members.

Just completed the FLEXXFormer XX (Advanced) class with MAGGIE. What a class, what an amazing instructor. What a way to start my Sunday.

Highly recommend!

The reformer machines are quite close together to the point where you need to time your movements to avoid other students

Very pushy in trying to make sales after classes

Owner will call your personal cell and berate you to take down a critical review (as well as asking employees to write reviews) so please take the studio’s overall rating with a grain of salt

(Edit: the owner’s response is untrue on multiple levels, but seems representative of how she runs her business. I recommend Westcore Studio as a Burlingame alternative!)

I've been working out at Flexx Studios for quite a few years and it has been the best experience. Lots of variety of classes, excellent teachers and the space is clean and comfortable. I didn't even know what pilates was a fews years ago and now I can't get enough of it. Thanks to Flexx Studios!

If you value a sense of community and amazing instructors, there is no studio that I could recommend more than Flexx. They pride themselves in small group classes which I really appreciate so instructors get a chance to connect with and focus on every single person. They offer so many types of classes (i.e. Pilates, kickboxing, TRX, bootcamp, etc.) so there really is something for everyone. Also a plus that the studio is super cute!

The staff and the facility is amazing, super clean, and a lot of natural light. Every class is anchored by professional instructors who all have their own unique style (try them all!). They have all the best equipment to get a great workout in, and it’s a boutique style so you’ll find a great community of fitness enthusiasts, which is a much better vibe than what you would get at a traditional gym. Anabelle the owner has such great energy, and has a passion to provide health and fitness solutions for the community that can be felt by everyone that works there. Such a gem of a facility !

Be super cautious on choosing coach for Pilate classes. I have taken classes for a while all instructors are good other than Aileen (name listed on reservation). Instructor is very low energy and not even responding/looking at you when i say hi or try to talk to her after class. No patience when student is not understanding her instructions. Worst ever experience for group exercises.

I did a ClassPass membership for a couple of months so got to try a lot of the gyms around Burlingame and Flexx is the one that I decided to stay with and get a membership to. The other classes are good but I’m mainly here for the Pilates. Compared to other Pilates studios I looked at it is a larger class experience, but the benefit of that is you’re not dropping a small fortune if you want to go 3-5 days a week. It’s a great core workout, different every time, and not something you could just do at home with a video or get anyone off the street to instruct.

I find my posture is better, I’ve got better strength and flexibility, and my back aches and pains are better. And best of all, I’ve been going for months now and find I continue to look forward to it, making it so much more sustainable than many other types of classes I’ve tried.

As a tip, though, the first time you go, if you haven’t done reformer Pilates before, try a “Classic” class - it goes a little slower and gives you a chance to get familiar with the machines and terminology. If you then find you want a bit more challenge, the XX classes level up in difficulty.

Really odd pilates class, super low energy instructor (I think her name was Alexis) and no modifications provided. Layout of the class makes it hard to see demonstrations as well. I wouldn’t recommend. The instructor also started packing up during class (it was the last session of the day) instead of paying attention to correcting form. I felt like I could’ve injured myself and definitely wasn’t doing the exercise correctly since it was too difficult (and I’m in good shape so I can’t imagine how much a beginner would struggle).

They’re are definitely better studios out there. I’m sure I just had a bad instructor but given the cost of a Pilates membership, I wouldn’t settle for something so below par.

I started attending FLEXX during the pandemic, initially kickboxing with Adrienne and Kimmy, in an attempt to stay active in a group class environment. Not only did the group setting help me stay active, but it motivated me to increase my activity and explore different classes at the studio. While I personally enjoy Bo's Strength focused FLEXXIT class on Saturday, TRX on Wednesday, and Bodyweight on Thursday, Adrianne's Pilates classes, and Kimmy's kickboxing class, I believe FLEXX's strength as studio is its variety in classes, via their well-trained instructors, and the welcoming and supportive environment. Thank you FLEXX for helping me stay motivated during a very challenging time and would definitely recommend this studio to any peninsula local.

This is my first time trying Pilates, and I have already attended two classes. The initial trial class, led by Darin, proved to be a bit intense and challenging for a beginner like me. It seemed better suited for individuals already familiar with Pilates. However, the second class with Eva was less intense and more relaxing. As a beginner, I believe it takes time to become accustomed to the new terminology and the reformer machine.

On the whole, the studio is pleasant and well-maintained. The staff at the front desk are extremely friendly and relaxed, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The classes are enjoyable and offer an opportunity for exploration. I plan to continue attending in the future.

Flexx Studios offers the perfect balance of the hottest fitness classes: Pilates, kickboxing, TRX, strength training, Barre, and they just keep adding more and more classes every month!

My favorite classes are Pilates (Flexxformer XX) and kickboxing (knockout XX). I love how Adrianne and Kimmy's classes just have the perfect mix of cardio, strength, & stability. I always leave the class sore and I feel like I am always learning something new! LOL we even did the viral social media handstand challenge after class. It's not just about the classes and the instructors that Flexx does a great job at, but the community they build! Flexx got me addicted to health and fitness and it's amazing! I am so happy with my lifestyle right now and where I am. Just looking back I never thought I would be committed to regularly workout, but I am so happy I am now!

The first class I took was back in 2017, but was so busy I didn't go regularly. I committed in the beginning of 2021 and went regularly. Having fitness as part of my lifestyle was my life goal and now I know I will continuously workout wherever I go! I seriously love Flexx, a plus plus because they were featured in a few shows, forgot which one but yes they were featured in a show just recently!

This is my long due appreciation post for Flexx. i joined Flexx in 2018 when i was in a bad shape fitness wise. This place gave me hope and pushed me to look forward for something everyday. Love the service and instructors were great. When I was pregnant with my second child with some complications, the instructors didn't give up on me and they customized the workouts even though we were in a regular class. Instructors Michelle and Debbie played a huge part in perfecting my pilates positions every class and without this class I don't think I would have gone for a successful VBAC with a 9.2 pounds baby. I love this place and Anabelle is the most amazing person who knows every single members in the studio. She is a kind human being. Forever thankful to this place.

I’ve been a loyal and consistent member of FLEXX studios for over two years now. Having tried various workouts and gyms, I can honestly say that it’s the best in the Bay Area. I’ve only taken the reformer pilates classes, but they do have many more options. I credit Flexx with helping me to form a consistent workout routine that I absolutely enjoy doing. I feel stronger mentally, physically and emotionally. One thing that sets Flexx apart is the amazing community. Everyone is welcome here and there is no pressure to look a certain way. The focus is less on “results” and more on meaningful connections with ourselves and others. Annabelle and the entire team genuinely care so much about everyone’s well-being, and go above and beyond to create a healthy, happy and safe space. They quickly adapted when the pandemic hit, exceeded minimum mandate requirements and did an amazing job slowly reopening. Now I actually have my own mini reformer at home and I’m an online workout addict, but I still feel the need to come in regularly because the instruction and environment are truly something else. I highly recommend Flexx if you’re hoping to create positive change for yourself from the inside out.

It’s super clean and airy. Been going off and on during the pandemic and happy to say there have been no issues or scares.
