Just started here after years at AB bernal so my expectations are wanting the same. FF is clean, bright, nice restrooms- but over half the equipment nobody uses.

Update - I have been going here a few months and really enjoy morning workouts. Not too crowded and a good mix of people.

I would love to see another leg press, a squat V machine and more plate racks and another leg extension machine.

I expanded my membership and for 10 dollars extra per month I can go to any of the 5 gyms. Bernal American Barbell is my favorite but I train mostly at focus

Have been going here for a few years and really like this gym. Great value for money - the hours used to be quite restrictive for a basic membership but now they’ve adjusted their hours to be more flexible, even though the price has gone up a bit as well. I’d rather pay the current membership price to have the ability to go later at night. I find that it’s easy to avoid crowds here - around 7-8PM there are maybe like 10-15 people in there, which allows you to use most of the equipment without having to wait much. They have lots of equipment and they’ve been upgrading things over the years - which is great. I also like that they have a smoothie bar as well for an occasional treat. Staff used to be so friendly back in the day, now it seems like everyone is just on their phone, which is fine I guess.

You can't cancel your membership. I cancelled two times and yet they are still trying to charge my account after 3 months. I'm so glad I contacted my bank to stop all future charges from them. Good luck if you need to cancel!!! It's really unreal how unprofessional they are. **UPDATE: ALMOST AFTER 1 YEAR OF CANCELLING - I'M STILL GETTING CALLS ABOUT MY MEMBERSHIP PAYMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!****

Don't let the reviews fool you , that's from when the gym used to be good .gym used to be great now they double charge and have attitudes. I feel bad for the owner he's clearly trying to do what ever he can to keep his business from sinking. Doubt it'll last much longer . Showing all the songs of declining business. Sad. Hope they can turn it around. Also, they're weird about pausing membership even for medical reasons . My gf just had surgery for her cancer and they still gave us a hard time

Visited this gym in hopes of looking for a new gym home. Was disappointed in how rude the workers were and how unsafe it felt there. I didn't appreciate how one of the male members was looking at this woman who was working out and how there was a homeless man just sitting inside. Will not be returning to this location…

Awesome gym. Been looking around for other gyms recently because I moved a bit far away and with traffic could take me up to 25-30 minutes to reach, and the lack of quality gyms in the area shows me how lucky I am to be working out here. It has everything you need in a gym, spacious, not too crowded usually, weights are in place, staff is friendly, new management is replacing old equipment, and the place is always clean. If you’re close to this location, look no further (also not expensive even with the raise in prices post-Covid).

I've been a member since 2014 and this place has always been great to me until now. I tried to log back on after they re-opened due to covid and it said my membership was cancelled and I never did that. I spoke with a very helpful lady from the front desk and she spoke with the new owner and explained to me what happened...

The owner went ahead and cancelled my original membership without any warning due to my membership including tanning and child care which they no longer offer anymore. He offered me to join again at the new prices which was nearly 3 times as much as I was paying before without the benefits of having the child care which was one of the main reasons I went there.

Kind of a slap in the face and very poor communication for someone that has been a member since they first opened.

This review comes from their 5-years customer who was trying to cancel his membership because of move, and they still have to charge him for one additional month, because the payment has already been processed and they cannot do anything about it (my credit card has not been charged yet, but it is already late for them)!
I actually called their front desk a day before and wanted to cancel over the form, the receptionist mentioned you have to come in person and sign a form. Now, they say your credit card has been charged and I have to pay one full month without any hit.
One more reason not to miss this place and not to recommend them for being cheap and not having any sense of a valued customer!

The staff here is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They are always helpful amd go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience possible.

The smoothie bar is amazing. There are so many varieties and ways to customize for your gains that there is something for everyone.

Three equipment and weights are not lacking in the least. Even during peak hours you'll be able to get your workout done in a timely fashion. Speaking of peak hours, the other members are also polite and helpful. I have yet to see a single judging eye. This is a great environment for beginners as well as veterans. Not to mention all of the classes that are available.

I am giving them a 3 star since the gym on Foxworthy closed, since it was the closet to me and even then there still was a little drive to it. Loved this gym when they were still opened, they were clean and I liked the fact that could go to the gym and never felt overwhelmed with the people working out there. I ended up closing my membership because the one on Blossom Hill is to far for me to drive especially with traffic. If they ever open one in Santa Clara or North San Jose, I would join again and most likely give a better rating

I've been a member since 2016 at the former Foxworthy location. I love this place, if your looking for a gym that makes you feel welcome look no further. Staff is always greeting me with a smile, equipment is well kept and not to mention they have a turf area where you can get real creative with your workouts. Even during peak hours the have an abundance of dumbbells,machines ,and bench's to chose from witch makes it worth every penny. Not to mention the R.E.V. class is a great way to burn calories and have encouraging coach's challenge /push you to limits you didn't know you could reach. So to sum it up if your in the market for a new gym but don't want to be crowed by hundreds of people you've found your place!

Went to retro for a try out session. Stuff was friendly. They have a full collection for weight training. Kinda feel extra for their color theme (excuse me for my designer Perspective) but turns out to be motivated. Totally did its job for a routine weight training workout.

I joined Retro because I was really unhappy with another gym down the road on Santa Teresa. I only use the treadmill as I'm training for a marathon and need a place to run when the weather outside isn't suitable. I especially like the cardio theater as it helps break the monotony of being on the dreadmill for miles upon miles. My only request would be the the closed captioning be on since it's a bit difficult to hear the dialogue.
The gym is clean, the machines I have been on have been in good order and the staff is always friendly.

This a great gym for the price. You can watch a movie and work out at the same time. Classes, typical weight machines, free weights, etc. No pool so I guess that one reason it is so low cost. Also for just a bit more you can bring a different guest every day.

Great friendly staff but terrible Preventative maintenance on the equipment. I have brought my own set of Allen wrenches in to the gym to tighten things up after addressing staff and was told that only the manager can fix the machines. You get charged a metenance fee yet simple preventive maintenance is not up kept.

I liked the facility and enjoyed the front desk members. But my workplace moved. So I cancelled my membership the 11th month, paid the fees, got a receipt. I thought we were done. But they kept trying to charge my credit card, and when I cancelled the credit card they sent the "bill" (not in writing, no explanation etc.) to collections. I have called twice and they promise to have a manager look into it but the manager doesn't return calls. I am considering calling BBB and anyone else I can think of (City of SJ?) as I.m now receiving 3-5 collection calls for $40 daily! WTH?!

Update: 6 month after cancelling, I have a receipt that shows zero balance and a cancelled contract. They are STILL calling me.

With a membership you can go to any location.
Classes can only be at home locations, and you would have to pay additional each month unless you sign up with a good deal.
There's an entire level for cardio, as well as a wall on the other level.
There are free weights, multiple squat racks, kettle bells, as well as multiple weight machines.
