I can always trust Folk, no matter the location, for a lovely flow.
The Richmond Folk is no exception!
I may have gotten lucky, but even managed to snag free street parking right outside the front door.
Really impressed by their 1 month for $79 offer on right now too, and I’ve loved trying out all sorts of classes across the city!

This one-room branch of Folk is a welcoming space with great instructors. Patti's Sunday morning align class has really helped me improve my form as I've started doing yoga regularly this year. Any of Folk's align classes are a gentler, welcoming way for beginners to approach yoga.

Folk Yoga is truly exceptional and has been a huge part of keeping me motivated on my yoga journey. The Richmond studio is my favorite—it has such a welcoming vibe, and the instructors are incredibly thoughtful, friendly, and well-trained.
The classes are both grounding and challenging in the best way. Yoga Flow with Abigail and Jen are my absolute favorites—they bring great energy and inspiration to every session. Every time I take a class at Folk, my day feels better. Can’t recommend this studio enough!

I've gone to Folk Richmond and Folk NoPA, and had amazing experiences at both! The staff are so kind, they have a wide range of classes from Warm Power Flows to Flow & Restore. I have been going for years now, and haven't had a bad class yet! The Warm Power Flow is my favorite, it's perfect level of heat at around 90 degrees! Rachel Soon, Sonia Beckstrom, and Roy Gan are my favorite instructors!

My roomie introduced me to this spot about a month ago. Very chill vibes! I like how cute and quaint the space is. Welcoming instructors. It’s close to my house so I joined for a new student intro month and have been enjoying it since :)

I lived right above the Richmond studio location for almost two years and Folk was one of my favorite parts of being in that community. The teachers are lovely and they offer a range of classes. Every time I went, I left feeling a little better than I did before. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great, clean, intentional studio space.

Love this studio. It's clean, minimalistic, and peaceful. Staff are really friendly. You really can't go wrong with any class or instructor. Lex's Yoga Flow classes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings are especially awesome — the perfect way to start the day feeling refreshed and energized!

Ahh, this place is great! I do the four classes a month membership. They have been accommodating with my membership. All the classes are wonderful. Very thoughtful and relaxing classes. The flow + restore classes at A1!
Sonia is the goat imo

There is a class for everyone, every mood and season in life. Also looking forward to Yoga 101 to reset, it seems to run almost weekly. Especially in tune with Gloria and Emily’s classes. What a blast to get out of my comfort zone to explore a new neighborhood when I yoga. Experience yoga in sf with a great variety of classes, teachers, and studio locations.

I'm a huge can of Abigail and Susie's classes at this location. Both instructors bring a calming and light presence to the classes. I always leave in a good mood.

The classes are adequate, though somewhat elementary, which may or may not meet your specific needs. However, I must express significant disappointment regarding the handling of my membership. My monthly subscription was auto-renewed for $200, a situation complicated by the fact that I am currently residing outside the U.S. and had only visited San Francisco for a few weeks. When I requested a refund due to my inability to attend the classes, the company denied it. They proposed crediting my account instead, but this is not a viable solution for me as I have no intentions of returning to the U.S. So, bad customer service approach.

My second favorite Folk location (I live walking distance from 9th Ave, so that’s my usual go-to). This is a wonderful studio, and Nourish Cafe is just across the street for a delicious post-class smoothie. The thing I love most about Folk, regardless of location, is the teachers are so kind and supportive. I have chronic pain and some days are harder than others. Folk is truly welcoming of all bodies and abilities.

I was very excited to try this spot, especially now that they have locations across the city. However, the yoga at the Folk locations I visited (here and NOPA) was variable— some teachers were absolutely excellent, others pretty mediocre, offering the same sequence and music each time. Often the yoga was not challenging enough, even for their supposedly fastest and most vigorous classes. Several times, I found myself needing more exercise afterwards. Folk is also pretty expensive, especially given the variable and sometimes underwhelming experience. They also threaten to charge members 20 bucks for no shows, even though the classes I went to were almost never full and despite the fact that they canceled several classes last minute with no explanation or alternative. Imo there are better studios in the city, and/or versions online that offer more or less the same.

I adore this cozy inner Richmond studio. I moved into the neighborhood a few months ago and was exploring a new place to practice. Everyone here (teachers and students) have been so welcoming and warm. Folk has become a big piece of my routine, a community I’m grateful for!
All of the instructors I’ve worked with so far have been lovely, shout-out to Denelle, Aditya, Caitlin and Wipawee.
The only thing missing in my opinion here are hot yoga classes! 🤞🏼
