Incredible gym space, even more incredible coach. Been working with Coach Rae since the pandemic. I'm a dancer so I'm very body aware and I go to Coach Rae for strengthening. I can tell that they really understand the human body and how it works. They can also read my body depending on how I'm doing (how did I sleep the night before, how much have I been pushing myself) and make adjustments. Coach Rae is the best. So grateful I found them to support my physical health.

Rae is the baddest coach, mentor, and friend. They’re an all around superstar - not only are they a very diligent and knowledgeable coach but they also deeply emphasize rest, recuperation, and injury prevention. Love their private classes and highly recommend them for anyone looking to get (back) into boxing, or wants a dedicated, caring personal trainer. The gym is super clean and has all the equipment you’d ever need.
Thanks Coach Rae!

For the Win Boxing is an absolutely incredible gym. It's hands down the best experience I've had working out and developing a fitness routine. I've been working with Coach Rae since 2021 and I can't say enough about their professionalism, dedication, and knowledge of health and fitness. I've struggled to maintain a workout routine over the years largely due to living with chronic pain and illness. I knew I needed some support with attending to my body regularly, especially as I get older. I'm SO lucky that I found Coach Rae. Coach Rae is so intentional and attuned to my unique needs. They have made our workouts creative and fun as well as challenging and motivating. Coach Rae is invested in my health and wellness, and inspires me every session (and throughout the week) by holding me accountable and crafting workouts based on my needs. They have supported me with getting my body ready for a major medical procedure and with recuperation and muscle rehabilitation post-op. And to top it all off, the gym is spotless--Coach Rae keeps the floors, ring, and equipment in stellar shape AND the bathroom is immaculate. I couldn't ask for a better gym, Coach, or experience. If I could give 10 stars I would!

Rae is an amazing trainer! I wanted to focus on strength and balance without feeling intimidated. Rae is supportive, knowledgeable, motivating and inclusive. Rae meets me where I am and pushes me just enough. To be honest, I hate strength training but I feel so good after my sessions with Rae.

I’ve been training here since 2021, and I can say with full confidence: this is not just a gym, it’s an experience. Rae is hands-down phenomenal. They bring the perfect balance of professionalism, passion, and heart. Every session is tailored to me–not just my fitness goals but also my comfort level and even the kind of day I’m having. They take mental health as seriously as physical health and that kind of respect and care is incredibly hard to find.
The gym itself is beautiful, spotless, and inspiring. The walls are lined with posters of boxers of all genders reminding us that greatness looks different on everyone. The music is always on point, the equipment is top-notch, and the vibe is energizing without ever being overwhelming.
I also really love the mix of one-on-one work and team training. Rae makes sure you’re never thrown into something unprepared, and the dynamic adds a whole extra layer of fun and motivation.
Somehow, no matter how chaotic my schedule is, Rae finds a way to adapt and keep me consistent. I walk out every time feeling stronger, lighter, and happier. This is the best trainer, the best gym, and a team I’m proud to support. 🥊✨ LFG!

Hands down, this is the best gym experience I've ever had! I've been training with Rae for a little over two years now, and my fitness journey has seen remarkable progress. Their personalized approach to resistance training has not only transformed my physical capabilities but has also significantly boosted my mental health and self-esteem. Rae is not only incredibly knowledgeable about the body and fitness but also exceptionally supportive, creating an environment where I consistently feel challenged yet fully capable of achieving my goals. Plus, the gym is always spotless, and the music never disappoints. So, if you're searching for a place that will support you right where you are and elevate your fitness, your search ends here. FTW is the spot!

I’ve been training with Coach Rae on and off for years at this point, and not enough people know about what a world class skillset they possess when it comes to teaching. They are a former competitive athlete, which lends so much credibility and personal experience to their knowledge. They’re patient, detailed, and will push you to new strengths that you didn’t know that you possessed, all without breaking your spirit.
The gym itself is beautiful. It’s fully stocked with a variety of training bags, weights, bikes and treadmills, and it’s SO CLEAN. I am so appreciative that a place like this exists for female athletes and women/femmes who want to get in shape in a comfortable space.

For The Win Boxing is the boxing gym I've been looking for my whole adult life. I've always wanted to train in boxing, not to be a fighter, but for the overall fitness benefits and self-empowerment of learning a combat skill. But I've hesitated to start training at other gyms because I have found the hyper-masculine and sometimes straight up misogynistic culture very off-putting. FTW is the antidote to the venom of male-centric boxing culture, and as a cis-male I love that about this place. Coach Rae manages to be motivating, uncompromising, and caring all at the same time.
I've been training at FTW for nearly a year now, and I've been consistently impressed with the strong emphasis on boxing fundamentals and attention to detail in technique. Even though I am not training for the purpose of entering into bouts, I still want to know that I'm learning how to box properly and not just getting a fancier version of a boxing class at a regular gym. At FTW, I get that.
Beyond the focused, 1-on-1 sessions, Coach Rae is always willing to share knowledge and resources for training supports at home, injury recovery, equipment, nutrition, and practical applications of the skills being learned.
And the atmosphere is always positive in the gym, with good music and good vibes while everyone is working hard.
I got FTW as what its name says - for the win!

I just started training at For The Win a couple weeks ago, and already love Coach Rae and the gym. Everything from their intentionality, style of instruction and intensity is made to guide the boxer according to their own energy. Coming in with concussions from previous fights, I was nervous to join a boxing gym, feeling lots of pressure to catch up. Coach Rae and the FTW team have been nothing but supportive. I'm so glad it's here in Oakland, because I would travel further to train at FTW if I had to. Each time I go I learn life lessons. Highly recommend.

Definitely a 5-star boxing gym, highly recommended! ❤️
Coach Rae and the fight team are not only incredibly skilled but also super kind and supportive. They are always willing to help you improve on your boxing skills.
The atmosphere here is welcoming, motivating, and feels like family from day one. This more than a place to train, it’s a gym that truly cares about your progress, confidence, and growth inside and outside the ring. Coach Rae gave me lots of valuable suggestions on my sparring, which helped me improve a lot. I’ve learned so much here and truly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their boxing skills or join a supportive, uplifting and warming community!

Hands down the best gym in the Bay Area. As a former D1 athlete and recent cancer survivor, I **struggled** for years to find a gym and a trainer that could offer the competitive environment I was craving but also was experienced, knowledgeable, and thoughtful enough to support me post cancer. Coach Rae is the BEST. Sessions at FTW are highlights of my week and I've met so many fitness goals that I thought were impossible (running a 5K again, doing 20+ pushups, box jumps!) I am so grateful I found FTW and cannot recommend them highly enough!

I can't say enough good things about this gym. We went to spar with their boxers a few times and were impressed by this place. Coach Rae is super friendly with a deep passion and great understanding of boxing. She was so generous with her time and advice, which helped me a ton. The entire fight team was awesome and helped me improve a lot. Can’t wait to work with them again! Highly recommend this place!

Shared an overall experience review separately! But this post is dedicated just for the boxing space which is…. 😍
I’ve been to many gyms across the nation. And I can say with it my chest: FTW is one of the most, if not the most, pristine clean spaces you will go to. As you enter, you will feel like you are in a classic boxing gym, with boxing posters, and inspiring graphics. The space is equipped with cardio machines, a variety of boxing bags to work with, agility equipment and a beautiful boxing ring.
Smells incredibly fresh, clean, and looks spotless. It is well ventilated. The vibes are great, and there is a screen for some good old fight watching. I truly cannot say enough about Rae’s attention to detail in creating a gym space that not only you feel inspired to train in BUT the hygiene is of the highest quality, I value greatly.

FTW is an incredible space for boxers of all levels. With 8 years of boxing under my belt as an athlete and coach, I was looking for a new community to join. FTW welcomed with open arms, and I felt like I found a new home, where I could thrive and learn. Rae is an amazing coach, thoughtful, attentive, and passionate about their athletes and their future. All of the athletes I’ve gotten a chance to work with, have been so inspiring and great teammates.
If you are looking for an immaculate gym space, an incredibly supportive and hella cool coach, with awesome teammates, this is your spot. 20/10!!

Coach Rae is one of only two coaches I trust my boxers with. Very knowledgeable and skilled in the craft of boxing. A solid well-rounded coach who respects every client that walks in the door. I would highly recommend this gym for anyone, from beginners to Pro. Whether it be small group training, personal training or sparring, this is the Oakland gym you want to be looking at.

I’ve been working and competing as an amateur boxer with Coach Rae since I first started boxing. It’s pretty rare you find a gym that you want to stick with long term and I’m lucky to have stumbled upon their spot. Their background in sports is what initially drew me to their gym, as I’m a multi sport athlete and have always appreciated being able to carry over different aspects of sports into my boxing training. Their gym is the only place I’ve felt like I’ve been taken seriously as a female athlete. I’d recommend them to any female boxers who are new or advanced.

5 stars doesn’t do any justice. Coach Rae and the FTW Boxing team has been a such a blessing to train with and be a part of. When I first moved to Oakland 6 years ago, I wanted to find a boxing coach for personal training just to keep me active since I work at a desk full-time. Within less than a year of sessions with them, I had learned so much about technique, mobility and keeping myself accountable to stay active and healthy outside of training. When the COVID-19 pandemic happened, we transitioned to virtual sessions and I appreciated how the quality of training remained the same and they were able to adjust these sessions based on the space and equipment I already had at home - still gave me a killer workout! Thankfully, when the pandemic was ending we returned to in-person training and I was inspired to kick it up a notch, actually a few notches. They introduced me to sparring and I loved the feeling of getting in the ring to apply what I’ve learned to do through shadowboxing, bag work and mitt work. I weighed the heaviest I’ve ever been coming back and in a few months, I had dropped 30lbs. Then, I decided to pursue boxing as an amateur competitor. Dropped another 20lbs and was ready for my debut fight.
Sharing this story to say that Coach Rae and their attention to detail to first understand where your health and body is at (especially as a queer female adult), tailor your workouts to best achieve your health goals and to adjust and correct your movements and placements based on what you are physically capable of is beyond what I expected when I first started and never knew I needed in a coach. Thankful that my fitness journey is with FTW.
