I highly recommend Forge Fitness to women of a certain age who want to experience strength training for all of the health benefits training brings. I turned 40 this year and kept hearing great things about weight training for women as they age. I looked into several gyms and I reached out to a friend who has been working out for years for a recommendation. She told me about a great gym she had gone to called Forge.

When I looked it up online, I’ll be honest—I was a little intimidated. I had zero experience with weight training beyond 5 lb dumbbells and home workout videos. I saw they offered a consultation to meet the owner, Craig, so I decided to go for it.

Walking in and seeing all the equipment was intimidating at first, but Craig immediately put me at ease. His calm, encouraging approach reassured me that I could absolutely do this and begin my strength training journey with confidence.

I decided to start the 14-day trial and signed up online. From the very first class, the coaches have been incredible. They guided me through everything—how much weight to start with, proper body mechanics, and mastering each movement. Craig, Anthony, and Jon have been so patient and encouraging every step of the way. In just a few months, I’ve learned so much and gained so much confidence.

What I love most is how the coaches are always there—whether it’s helping me improve each workout, perfect my form, or make adjustments to prevent injury. They genuinely care about your progress and safety. The app makes it easy to schedule classes and track your progress.

This gym has truly become a second home for me and now my husband. The community is amazing everyone encourages and supports one another, which makes such a difference. The class sizes are small (around 20 people), so you always get the extra attention you need.

If you’ve ever felt intimidated by weights like I did, this is the place to start. The coaches and the people here make the experience not only welcoming but also transformative. Thank you Forge.

Recently signed up after moved into the area. Forge fitness is a real deal. Perfect place for a quick 1 hr workout, where everything is well planned out and customizable for your abilities. To top it all, you have a trainer always available for assistance and any questions during your workout session. You will have a clear sense of accomplishment every session. I started with their 14 days for 14$ program and was a no brainer decision for me to sign up for their regular classes within a couple of sessions. I fully enjoy my workouts every time and I highly recommend Forge Fitness if you are looking for a instructor led, neighborhood gym with everything you need to get fit.

I’ve been at Forge Fitness for about 5 weeks and I’m hooked. This isn’t a HIIT-style gym—it’s focused on traditional weightlifting with smart programming and proper form. Each day targets a different muscle group (push, pull, legs), plus there’s a full strength day and a Thursday endurance session. The owner and trainers are knowledgeable, supportive, and make sure technique comes first. I already see progress and actually miss it when I can’t go. I recently switched from Orange Theory (OTF) to Forge Fitness. While I’m eternally grateful to OTF for getting me back on the fitness track, the change feels like going from high school to a university program, with a lot more breadth (much more than just dumbbells and TRX) and depth (more emphasis on form and tracking) at Forge, particularly for strength training. Here I am, never having heard of Hyrox before, suddenly doing sled pushes, skiergs and medicine ball wall throws, on top of the more familiar Concept rowers and air bikes. Lots of attention from the instructors (whose credentials are impeccable), and a very involved owner. I haven’t done any of the nutritional counseling yet, but this is included as part of the program. All, in all, Forge offers the scheduled group sessions that I already know help keep me accountable (I can never do this on my own at a big box gym), along with an emphasis on tracked progression that will definitely push me to the next level of fitness.

Forge Fitness is one of the best gyms I’ve been to in the OC. All the coaches are knowledgeable, have high-energy, and genuinely care about your progress. I love that you can also track your performance through the app and provide a lot of resources on nutrition, proper exercise form, etc.

The workouts are a great balance of strength and endurance, and it’s definitely a step above your typical circuit gym like OrangeTheory or F45. Also, Craig, the owner, is super encouraging and sets a great tone for the space.

Since day 1, Forge has been so helpful and friendly. The staff is highly knowledgable and teaches and monitors good form and progressive overload for weight training. They are encouraging and attentive, and teach how to use their easy- to-use app for tracking progress. If you are looking to get strong and build muscle this is a great gym. Forge Fitness is a totally unique program focusing on progressive overload so you can actually build muscle. Unlike other gyms where the strength training is seemingly random, Forge trainers develop specific splits to be followed and progressed for a number of weeks. The trainers are friendly, good about correcting your form, and meet you at your own level. The gym is good for those who are just getting started with strength training as well as those who are looking to level up. The other members are friendly and encouraging as well. Forge Fitness is legit.

This has been hands down the best gym experience I’ve ever had. Jon and Michael, the trainers, are awesome — always making sure I’m doing things the right way, pushing myself, but also not overdoing it. And Craig, the owner, is super involved. He’s always around, making sure everyone’s taken care of, and you can tell he really cares about the gym and the people in it.

What I love about this place is that I never have to think about what to do. I just show up, follow the plan, and get a solid workout in. It’s way different from when I used to go to 24-Hour Fitness, where I’d be half-hearted about it, checking my phone between sets, kind of just winging it. Here, I always know I’m doing things right, and the trainers actually pay attention to my form, making sure I don’t get hurt.

The group sizes are perfect—small enough to get personal attention but big enough to have that extra accountability. Plus, the people who go here are great. Everyone I’ve met is just really positive and focused on growth, which makes it even better.

I've gotta say, I actually look forward to the workouts. It’s become a key part of my day, and I really appreciate how much effort they put into making sure we’re not just working out, but also staying on top of nutrition and long-term health.

A great gym with good atmosphere! Having been an 8 year member at a local competitor, I decided to try Forge. Many former members of my "other" gym have found a comfortable home here. So far I have only met 3 staff members. Jon, Michael and owner Craig. All three of these gentleman have a passion and a ton of knowledge to impart amongst the members to make their fitness journey a success. They make sure all the members are comfortable, motivated and happy with their results. The gym is also very clean with disinfect spray bottles at every station. All the equipment is top notch and in good working order. Many other gyms neglect machine maintenance and over time as bolts, nuts and screws become loose, but not here at Forge. Give this place a shot as I think most will love it!

They really pay attention to your form and remember your injuries, strengths and things you want to work on. I have sustained injuries at other gyms by lifting too heavy or using the wrong form but everyone at Forge is always looking out for you and helping make each workout your very best. I am so happy I found this gym. It isn't like any other fitness classes I have taken. I love the way the days are broken into working out certain areas instead of working out the same areas every day. Craig and his team are really focused on helping people reach the goals while doing it safely. It is nice that the coaches and Craig walk around to make sure everyone's form is good so they are getting the most out the exercise and to prevent injury. You can go at your own pace which is nice. I started 6 weeks after a hysterectomy and they were great with showing me different variations to each exercise that I can do to start off slow and prevent injuring myself. Forge Fitness is a fantastic gym for beginners and advanced athletes alike. My husband and I joined together - he has quite a bit of experience working out, while I was a total beginner who knew nothing. From the first day, the coaches have been incredibly kind and invested in our personal progress.

Coming from a science background, I am always leery of programs that claim to be results-driven, but actually are not. I am grateful to have found Forge Fitness as it is 100% science based - they have an exercise scientist on staff who keeps a close eye on everything to make sure the workouts are all designed for real improvement. They even have nutrition coaching available to ensure you have all of the tools possible to improve.

Like I said, I'm a super beginner - and the workouts are manageable and fun. The coaches are always willing to offer modifications to lessen or increase the challenge or to help if you're dealing with an injury. They help you set goals that are challenging yet attainable for yourself, and you can track your progress in their app.

I have gone from not working out at all to coming to the gym daily. The small group sizes make it feel like personal training without the personal training price tag. Every coach I've had is phenomenal to work with - they will cheer you on but not pressure you to overdo it.

The owner, Craig, is so nice and welcoming. There is no pressure whatsoever to join after the trial period, so it's definitely worth checking out! Highly recommend Forge Fitness!

What a great gem of a gym!
Being new to these types of gyms, not having worked out since having two kids (but previously a distance runner before kids & went to the gym), it was time to get back into shape. I needed motivation & being 40, I also needed guided strength training. I stumbled into the concept of Forge Fitness via googling around, was intrigued by their 14 day trial, and signed up.

I’m glad I did! The owner Craig was very welcoming & had a caring & authentic demeanor. I didn’t know most of the machines or weights, but felt very comfortable learning from both him & the coach in charge of the session. The facility was clean as well as the machines. The morning time was good & I liked the class size. The classes are a good workout, pushes me in terms of fitness but I like how they focus on a nice hybrid of technical, form, focus, range on the weights mixed with some cardio rather than pushing to do as many sets or reps as possible. I actually thought it would be like that, but I’m glad after a few classes it’s not. Every day is different and Fridays are a full body overall workout that is less technical. I look forward to each workout and the people and coaches are really nice. I feel great afterwards and look forward to improving. This gym is perfect!!

Forge Fitness is excellent. The gym is of good size, the equipment is modern and well maintained, and the coaches are superb. Craig and Angela, and the other coaches, make the workouts tough but also engaging and fun. The classes are generally split with half the duration being circuit based and the other half being reps oriented with free weights. Workouts are a mix of amrap (as many reps as possible) and emom (every minute on the minute). Class sizes aren’t huge so you never feel crowded. This is also allows the coaches to give corrections to form, etc as needed.

Best gym hands down in Rancho Santa Margarita. Wonderful place, Renee is the best trainer ever. I was visiting my friend and she introduced me to Forge and I'm really sad that I'm not going to find that one of kind gym experience that I had with Craig and his team I definitely will be back.

I'm a founding member of this gym, beginning when it was Eat The Frog and through its transition to Forge Fitness. The trainers here among the best I've ever worked with; they personally design each class to target key areas and always offer alternatives if something's too challenging or easy.

The classes are as challenging as you want them to be, and no two are the same. Each class, we typically rotate through several stations and leave the gym feeling as if we're going to die, which is exactly the sensation you want from a workout.

The positivity and good energy the staff brings to Forge Fitness is an added bonus. You won't find many gyms where the owner texts you to make sure everything's OK if you've missed one too many lessons, or where all the coaches know you by name and seem as invested in your progress as you are.

I sprained my ankle and needed some good strength building exercises, but have never been to a gym before and honestly have no clue what I’m doing. I researched the entire area till I finally found Forge Fitness. What I really liked was the personalized coached classes. I didn’t know what to expect, but 2 months later and I am genuinely loving the sessions. It’s something different every time, the classes aren’t a giant mass corporate thing, you basically go through an obstacle course of different activities and follow the instructions of the coach. It changes constantly, they are constantly reacting to feedback from members and it’s such a wonderful casual feeling community that can either push the intense folks or build up those newly starting out. Very friendly bunch, it’s the best gym in Rancho Santa Margarita! Highly recommend you at least have the initial chat, that was what I truly appreciated and sold me. I wasn't talking to some corporate sales crew, I was just chatting with folks genuinely interested in helping me.

Forge Fitness is one of the best gyms I've been a member of. The trainers are great and very creative with each workout! Each class is both a challenge and enjoyable.

Craig is very personable and reachable. He is consistently asking for feedback to make sure all clients are happy and receiving the best service available.

The equipment at the gym is top notch and allows for each class to include a larger variety of exercises.

Forge Fitness OC has totally helped level up my game in working out! I have been going there since the gym opened last year. The coaches continue to help push me to be the strongest I have ever felt physically. It is really nice to have the coaches ensure I have proper form, so I do not hurt myself and so I get the most bang for my buck in the workouts.
The coaches give great low impact or work around solutions as needed based on what we know our bodies can or cannot handle.
The music is fun, the energy is awesome and the motivation is high.
If you are looking for all that, you will not be disappointed.
Thank you Forge Fitness for coaching me to be the where I am today, I cannot wait to see how far this old gal can go with the Forge Fitness OC Family. Let’s go!

I really enjoy going to this boutique gym. It has a great friendly encouraging vibe offering a variety of challenging coach lead workouts. No two are exactly the same. I especially appreciate the focused upper body, lower body, cardio and other workouts rotating daily throughout the week.

Craig, Angela, Rene, and team are absolutely fantastic. Forge has to be the best gym in the area if you are looking for an independent functional fitness gym that brings the heat! The trainers are very personable, make you feel comfortable, are great at coaching you through the workouts, and are extremely knowledgeable about body mechanics and fitness. Such a wonderful gym with top notch equipment. The owners are truly amazing and they really care about each individual. They spare no expense to make it a workout that benefits you because they care. I’ve also received texts from them when I haven’t been in the gym; again because they care! Rene tweaks the workouts for each individual as needed to make it injury-friendly. Where can you find personal care like this in today’s world of impersonal chains!! It’s like having a personal trainer that’s family in a small class setting. I've been going to Forge now for two months, and have been loving it. The small class sizes allow for personal attention and I always feel comfortable that the instructors are knowledgeable and always willing to assist with modifications and make sure I'm performing each exercise correctly.

Each workout is different which helps to never get burnt out or bored! This gym is great for ALL ranges of fitness. They have been adding in new equipment which has been fun to try new things!
