I’m not someone who usually leaves reviews for gyms, but here I am. There are a few things I wanted to mention for anyone considering this place, as well as for the managers of the establishment.

The gym itself is pretty small compared to others. The lack of machines and attachments is very frustrating when you’re trying to focus on a specific muscle group. The selection is very lackluster. Not to mention, there’s the constant staring from some older men—directed at younger boys and girls—which is extremely uncomfortable. I’ve seen it happen multiple times.

I also want to add that the trainers should not be stationed at the front desk. They show little to no customer service and often hold conversations in the middle of the hallway. One person in particular—Coach A***—has stood out in a negative way. I can count multiple times where I’ve seen my kid be completely disregarded, disrespected, or ignored. She seems to have an attitude problem, and it’s directed at certain people.

Again, not everyone who works or works out there is bad, but I highly recommend considering other places (like Court Side).

I've been a member for several years and intend to continue. Good selection of equipment, rare to have to wait to use something, good classes, instructors, staff and other customers. I've never had any problems with anyone.
I used to use the company gym and after I stopped working there, noticed a decline in my overall health. Forma gym has me back on track, and then some!

Update: The equipment that I have expressed concern about has now disappeared without explanation and there is no replacement.This location is poorly managed and obviously asks for, and then ignores, member input. In short, they are going through the motions to make things look like they care and then they do nothing.
I have been a member of this gym in San Jose for almost 25 years. I have requested that they repair or replace a unique piece of equipment very important to my exercise routine that has been non-operational for at least six months. The manager ignored my written concerns for months, and then responded a few times promising to follow up. He has not done so, and the equipment remains unusable. Incidentally, this happened on a previous occasion, and it took a full six months for a repair to be made.
Forma has requested that, as a member, I post a review, so I am doing so. This manage’s lack of responsiveness or concern for his customers should be evaluated and action taken to either correct his failure or to find a new manager.
Additional update: Once again, Forma has requested that I post a review, which I would not otherwise have done, but since they continue to ask, I will continue to post. On the positive side, after my last post a representative contacted me with an offer to help explore alternative equipment. I declined because I am very familiar with the gym’s equipment and have done my best to seek alternatives that work the best for me under the circumstances. That said, I now do without equipment that was very important to me and that I was lead to believe would be replaced..
I have belonged to this gym for a very long time, and at this point continue membership out of force of habit and proximity to my home more than anything else. Otherwise, it continues under subpar and stale management that should be replaced. That, however, appears very unlikely.
Another update: I have once again been asked for a review, and as long as Forma is asking, I am happy to respond. The gym has now devolved into a noisy, chaotic environment that makes any type of serious work out difficult, at least in the mid morning time frame when I am there. This does not surprise me, as the management seems to confuse quality work out time with what they perceive to be entertainment.
This gym needs to review their approach to their clientele to see if they want a circus-like environment, or a serious gym experience. Given the current management, this is unlikely to occur.

The gym is very well maintained, with clean equipment and a well-organized layout that makes workouts enjoyable. The outdoor area is a huge plus, it’s perfect for training on a sunny day and adds a nice change of scenery. I want to shout out to Aja the massage therapist and Bernadette the personal trainer of Forma Gym. Both of them are gifted professionals who can work with a variety of people and not just the young, fit, uninjured, etc. Gifted healer and great motivator to live your best life! I just bought my next series of personal trainings with Bernadette. She is a great instructor and does both group fitness classes and private classes. I am an elderly client, do not have a long history of playing sports or practicing fitness, and Bernadette hits the sweet spot between pushing you to improve and respecting your boundaries. Aja is the most intuitive therapist with whom I have ever worked. She touches you and instinctively knows how deep to go to relieve you without crossing that "ouch" line. You can relax completely and work with her because you do not fear any pain or discomfort. Both of them are the reasons I stay at Forma.

One Star - Great Facilities, Shameful Customer Service

I have never written a bad review before, and it pains me to do so now because, honestly, the gym facilities themselves are pretty good. I even had a very positive experience with one of the personal trainers previously. However, my recent experience with their customer service has been so appalling that I feel compelled to warn others.

I purchased a $200 package that included gym access and a personal training session. When I needed to reschedule my training session (which was originally booked before my package expired), I called in advance and was explicitly told by their staff that it was no problem.

However, when I went to redeem my rescheduled session, I was told it was no longer valid due to the original expiration date! This is completely unacceptable, especially since their own staff approved the reschedule. To make matters worse, the phone call I had trying to resolve this was appalling.(with Andres the manager) I was spoken to disrespectfully, hung up on, and even falsely accused of using inappropriate language – which is a complete lie.

Essentially, this gym took my money, promised a service, approved a change to that service, and then refused to honor it. The customer service was atrocious. They clearly do not value their customers. I am now being forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Avoid this gym at all costs if you value being treated with respect and expect them to honor their commitments

I''ve been going to this gym since right out of college (that's over 25 years), and I could not be happier that Forma took over a few years back. Forma is not just a gym, it’s a community and a great one, too. The staff and members are super friendly and welcoming, they encourage and support building a community. They provide their grill and hotdogs so everyone can come by and enjoy. It’s rare to find a gym that not only provides a place to work out, relax pool side or enjoy the steam room & sauna but a great social network as well. I’ve made so many lifelong friendships at Forma and look forward not only to working out but seeing my friends.

You won’t ever get bored doing the same thing because there are so many classes. One I’d the popular & favorite summer class is glide fit, held in the pool with Bernadette & Aja. Bernadette also teaches Dance Fusion, HIIT Body Shop, etc.

The porters are the best, especially Veronica, she’s the most pleasant person you’ll come across.
Andres is such a genuine person. Alondra brightens the entire gym, day or night with her electric smile.
Ronny is the muscle behind Forma, he keeps that place running like a well oiled machine. I can’t say enough about the staff.
If you’re looking for a private trainer, Erin and Bernadette are absolutely fantastic as I’ve had both as my trainers and I’ve learned so much that I can work out confidently on my own.

I love Forma Gym. They have everything I need in a gym: clean, working, well-kept equipment, friendly staff, the option to workout outside, equipment for athlete training, newer, trendier equipment such as the hip thrust machine, sprint8 programming on the aerobic machines, Torque Tank, and so many more. I've been a member since at least 2019, maybe longer and don't know of any other gym I'd rather workout in. :-) I even tried a fancy gym that charges ~$500/month and it didn't really offer much more except a cold plunge (which I don't even want as the science actually says it can interfere with your gains ;-) ).

Normie globe gym with nice options for equipment. Zero privacy in men’s locker room or shower. The space doesn’t feel welcoming to queer people, staff and clientele are mostly cis and straight-presenting folks. Feels lonely, though some classes form social groups esp swim team and water aerobics. I’ve never met a single other gay person here even though everyone has been polite and respectful.

The only reason why I gave 4 is that unless you sign up with a personal coach, the coaches really don't help.
One coach emailed me for a complementary session, as I am new to the club, but zero follow up with time and date....thus, we just have to observe others and do it yourself.
The temperature is high...so gets obviously hot after 15 to 20 minutes of exercising.

However, the ambiance and the environment is good.

I've been a member at Forma Gym for over 3 years, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best gyms I’ve ever joined. The facility is always clean, the equipments are modern and well-maintained, and there's a wide variety of machines and free weights for all fitness levels.

What really stands out is the staff. Andres is very friendly, he always greets me with a smile, and from day one, he remembered my name. Faro, the manager, is also incredibly professional, kind, and always willing to help or answer any questions.

People don't follow the rule of the swimming pool. They either don't reserve a lane or reserve one lane but jump into another lane. It has caused awkward situations in the pool because people expect they have their reserved lane. In addition, the people in the Master Swimming class come early (around 5:15 or 5:30) while the class starts at 6:30pm and they take lane from other people. I just want to relax and enjoy swimming, but not to deal with these problems. I hope Gym managers should solve this problem so that people are happy, comfortable, and relax when they come to the gym.

I have been a member of Forma gym for about 12 years now. Employees are nice and so are the members. I enjoy going to all the group exercise classes. Equipment and showers are clean with readily accessible disinfectant spray bottles to use on equipment. Although, there are two improvements needed one being new towels since currently the towels are getting old and thin. Another needed improvement fix the lack of a/c in the small work out room.

I do like the Walnut Creek location. They need to keep the men’s locker room cleaner. Showers barely work except one or two and it’s always dirty on the floor. They also need new towels. Those towels are as soft as sand paper. They have decent equipment. Not the best or newest. For the price that’s the best you can ask for. Another plus is it doesn’t get over crowded.

I scheduled a tour through their website. Got an approval in the email, their smart system even sent me a reminder an hour before. However when I got there, 5 minutes before the scheduled time, I was told that all the customer representatives have already gone home. Incredibly nice gym with great staff. Price point on membership rates is on higher side but honestly with what they offer it is worth. It. I love the outside workout areas. I have been enjoying this gym for about a year now. Everything is top notch. Clean, quality equipment, snd so much to offer.

Forma is a full-service gym. All areas are clean, and the equipment is new and modern. The bathroom is spacious, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The outdoor studio and pool area are my favorite spots to enjoy, even during the winter.

Great facility, and staff. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. This location has been my home gym for the last 30 years, and even though it has changed ownership over the years it has never been this good. Forma does things a little different and that is what makes it soo good.

I have been a member of Forma gym San Jose for over 2 years now. I love the clean and spacious facility, variety of high quality fitness classes spread out the day, indoor and outdoor exercise spaces including hot-tubs, swimming pool, steam and sauna rooms, very friendly staff, easy parking. Best value for a gym membership I have ever had. Highly recommend!

The place is great, plenty of workout space. I've been a member for a long time. The only issue for me is that broken equipments don't get fixed for months on. Very inconvenient, very disappointing.

The facility has totally neglected its outside workout area. Broken treadmills, rowers and assault bike.

I brought this issue up with management and after 3 complaints the manager answered, he went out of his way to replace the batteries on the rowers but the company needs to fix and or replace the equipment.

Overall I love this gym but the outside crossfit area needs to be maintained and managed better.

I joined the gym because I was looking for a female trainer, after being reassured there were several available, I signed up. Make an appointment, trainer doesn't show up, does not answer phone calls, emailed another one she wasn't available either. That was their several. I had to go 3 times in 2 days. Very disappointed, Andres the manager was very helpful, gave me a refund.

Forma Gym offers everything I need in a fitness facility. I especially enjoy the group classes—Zumba, yoga, and hip-hop are all fantastic. The instructors are experienced and have been with the gym for years, creating a welcoming and motivating atmosphere.

I love this gym. I joined it at the beginning of summer so I could enjoy their outdoor pool. It's lovely outside, the pool is clean, and the other swimmers are so friendly and welcoming. The staff has been friendly as well. The only aspect I would change is much of the staff seem to be on their phones, when they could be actively supporting customers. When I walk by the front desk, the two people usually have their heads down, distracted and on their phones. I'm giving 4 stars, otherwise it would have been 5.

From the first day I was lucky enough to have had the right folks within the Forma team help me in this journey. Starting with meeting Andres on day one and having him walk me through the facilities as well as discuss in depth the benefits of having a trainer that could help guide me, to having Arvi as my coach and being able to relate to my needs and the approach we would take. Arvi has done just that, help me not just physically but also mentally to slowly evolve and make it a life style choice. For anyone considering joining a sports club, this is an athletics workout facility worthy of consideration because of enrolled membership, visible maintenance, across the board dedicated & committed staff, & choice of indoor/outdoor workout spaces.

1) _Family centric_, in the sense that in different seasons we have club members from teens, working professionals, parents, & seniors in this facility
2) "Huge shout out" to the _facilities maintenance_ crew that repairs most everything on the premises & the
staff that clean floors & launder towels
3) _Andres_ the assistant manager is highly engaged with members & responsive to all issues brought to his attention. Also _front desk_ staffed (Elsa , Summer, etc) by students, who are friendly with members
4) Cardio group fit classes have a deep bench of _talented instructors_ & _subs_: Amanda(Ripped) , Andrea(HIIT) , Brandon(KBox. Core&More). Bernadette ((HIIT...), Chai &Julia (MixedFit), Kerry & Susan (HipHop. Groov3, Jessica (Dance Alive, Spin) Rachele (Zumba), ETC.
5) Most attractive elements are that there are: _indoor_ workout studios _outdoor_ group workout spaces(3), plus an external lap pool, weights area.

Only nit is the HVAC supplying the 2nd floor studio: Sometimes this groupfit exercise room runs a bit warm. Recently a portable commercial cooler was installed to boost the HVAC's cooling impact.

The entire organization do their level best to provide an excellent spa experience to all it’s members. I actually use the outdoor pool & the maintenance staff is excellent. The facilities are not state of the art, But either am I, and neither are the monthly due’s. Faro, the manager has got an excellent staff & he does an excellent job of expanding & updating as best he can. I have been a member there for 15 plus years off & on. Best club for the money 💰 in the South bay thanks to the staff at Forma. Great value & a fantastic staff. You can absolutely get a state of the art gym experience for twice what your paying at Forma & you still not have the excellent staff or management.

Could be better. Good stuff first, feels clean and has a lot of equipment. Now the other stuff the water fountains will have filters that won’t be replaced for like a week after being all used up which sucks, I get super thirsty and my workout is burdened by my reduced stamina from no water. A few pieces of equipment outside are just broken? They have been this way for like 5 months now. Overall pretty good gym and they offer classes.

I recently visited Forma Gym on August 22nd, 25th, and 26th. After a positive initial experience and enthusiastic promotion to my friend, we were both excited to work out and use the facilities together on the 26th. However, upon arrival, Jacob informed us that my friend couldn't access the gym since I wasn't a member yet, contradicting my understanding of the 7-day pass policy. I found Jacob's behavior unprofessional, especially after observing him vaping on gym premises during my previous visit. I recommend providing staff training to ensure consistent and respectful customer service, as this experience may deter potential and existing customers.

I visited Forma gym for the first time today with a friend of mine who was convincing me to get a membership there. I wanted to check out the gym and after giving out my information to sign up for a pass, Jakob approached us and said I cannot have a free pass because my friend brought me in. I asked, so if I was coming by myself, I could get a free pass? He said yes. So do you guys want people not to bring their friends? I asked again, because my friend brought me in, you are not offering me free pass? He said yes, you can pay for the day pass. We left and went to club sport and they easily give us free pass. I think there is a loophole in your policy. To get a free pass, one must come without a referral, something weird in the marketing world to make sure nobody refers Forma to anyone

I have been attending Forma Gym since 2018. I absolutely love the classes. The instructors are very knowledgeable and always willing to help! They are the main reason I kept my membership through Covid.
The gym is nice, clean and has lots of equipments.

I had an encounter with a staff member who was very rude with me. I was polite to the person but it was a very negative experience based on what he said and his demeanor. I complained by sending the manager three emails and never received a response. I also asked the front desk to speak to the manager regarding the issue and I was given a "he's not available", and another time "I will let him know you are here, and he will come and find you in the gym". I wanted for about 90 minutes and then just left because he was not coming. Very disappointed that I didn't at least get "I will talk to him. We are really sorry to hear about about your experience". I got nothing from the management. I am not saying this is a fact, but I feel like the management doesn't care.
