I’ve been working out at Foundation Fit since September 2023, and this is absolutely the longest I’ve ever stuck with one fitness program. I’ve gotten so much stronger, and so many things in my life have gotten easier as a result. I started at Foundation Fit in April 2024 having never really been a gym person before. Talk about a life-changing experience! I’ve been training with Austin three times a week since then and have lost just over 100 pounds. Austin is patient, encouraging, and really knows how to push you and motivate you to get the best results. More importantly, he completely understands the limitations of aging bodies, and how important strength training is, especially for women. His workouts are challenging, but always adjusted to where you’re at. This is really important, because while it's okay to be sore occasionally, it is not ok to be in pain. Austin understands this and never pushes harder than you can handle. The whole vibe of the gym is great — no ego, no judgment, just some really nice, dedicated, and encouraging people cheering each other on. If you're like I was pre-Foundation Fit - terrified of gym culture, and completely embarrassed by my lack of fitness and athletic ability, I can’t recommend Foundation Fit (and Austin!) enough.

I never worked out consistently until I joined Austin’s program. It worked for me because he was non-judgmental, flexible, and super nice. I have been working out with Austin for 8 months now and I am so pleased and impressed with him and his approach to training and wellness.
I love going to my class and always leave feeling great. My main goal was to gain strength back during menopause and I now feel so much stronger and toned. Some weight loss but more important gained muscle and feeling so much better.
I go twice a week for an hour, usually there are 2-4 people in the room, nice and not too loud music in the background. Each session is custom made for you and never the same.
I think one big part of Austin's success is the accountability you have as a motivation and also he is so knowledgeable, personable and easygoing.
I can't praise Austin enough and highly recommend trying him out. (You may get hooked :-) )

I absolutely love being a part of this gym! Austin is amazing as a trainer. He is knowledgeable, cares, and makes it possible for you to reach fitness goals you would never have thought you could before. He has not only helped me but my teenage son who has anxiety in public places. It has been his first time ever in a gym of any kind and it has really improved his overall health and he really enjoys his workouts! It is my first time having a trainer and being in my 50s and having little time I wasn’t sure how it would go but I am so glad I contacted Austin. I have seen a huge difference in my strength and muscle tone and I wish I would have had strength training in my life much sooner. It has really made a huge difference! I work out twice a week and experience little soreness as Austin is good at making my workouts safe , comfortable, and the right level of challenge. I can’t wait to see more benefits and positive impacts as time goes on since it has only been 7 months and even my 84 year old father said to me tonight wow you really are getting noticeably muscular. Before I joined Foundation Fit, I’d join a gym, go for a while feeling awkward and out of place, and then give up with no progress. I felt embarrassed as an older woman by how little I knew about strength training, and how weak I was. Since joining Foundation Fit two months ago, I’ve learned a lot, I’ve lost weight, and I already feel much stronger! Austin has been incredibly supportive, encouraging, and kind, and fosters a fun and welcoming environment. More than anything, he holds me accountable and helps me stay focused on my goals! Austin creates a welcoming strength training environment and tailors workouts to fit your needs. I came in limping after seeing podiatrist for my ankle who told me my only cure was surgery. Foundation Fit is an awesome gym! Austin runs the place very smoothly. It’s calm vibes and without judgement. Accountability is done in a way that is direct, yet still honest and kind. In addition to the overall vibe and environment, the people that work out there are all very friendly and chill, too. It is not “frantic training” (which I thought I was looking for!). This is steady and consistent in a way that’s more about changing habits rather than doing a quick hack or fix. Although I initially felt hesitant towards this approach and philosophy Austin held, I see now how much better this is, considering I have not “yo-yo’d” and have actually felt myself get stronger. It’s a good place to be if you want to get stronger and healthier!

Some of the great qualities in personal training I've experienced at Greenlight include: knowledgeable and professional trainers, clean facility, the trainers work well with you to reach your desired goals, they pay attention to each individual in their routine workouts and make necessary adjustments, flexible hours, weekly progress reports, and specific app for home exercises. I loved the presence of a vibrant and positive energy at Greenlight everytime I showed up to workout. Austin and Greenlight are one and the same, so anything that can be said about the place is about him.
He is kind, supportive, honest, direct - he doesn't baby you, but neither is he a "tough guy." It's an unusual balance he maintains.
If you are serious about changing something, this is an excellent place to do it.
There's no flash in the space; it's not about image. People are there because they want things to be different in their lives. And the atmosphere speaks to it . It's relaxed, but focused. It's clean, the equipment is probably the best available but it's almost secondary.
Austin knows fitness. He knows about transformation and what is necessary for it to happen. There is another staff member who knows the same and also can help you focus on nutrition/diet.
Again, Austin *is* the gym and that's why the place is what it is.
Invest in yourself if you're done with how you feel and know there's something better inside. You'll find it.

Austin has been a fantastic!
I have found the experience I have had training with him to be the best I've been a part of. He took the time to understand my fitness goals and limitations and built a tailored training and nutrition plan that has produced results fast.

I have a big win to share!
(Just one of the many wins I have had since joining Greenlight)
I was able to vacuum my home for the first time without pain in my shoulder or back. I know this may sound insignificant however it was a huge win for me!!
Summary I used and abused my body until I was too old to ignore the pain anymore. I spoke to multiple lines of business within the medical industry and everyone had their own version of what was wrong with me and how to fix it. After spending 10s of thousands of dollars (no health insurance most of the time plus miracle diets) I continued to injure myself and gained lots of weight in the process.
Fast forward 8 years of this vicious cycle...I took a chance on a man named Austin at Greenlight it has been 5 months working with the dedicated trainers at Greenlight; Austin and Aleinah, not only am I thinking healthier but I am stronger and more confident.
Thank you for teaching me how my body works and how I can work with my body!!

I LOVED the experience I had at Greenlight in Chico. I have always been active and have taken a lot of cardio classes, but the body had some setbacks as I hit 50. I never had the exposure or knowledge to understand strength training. Austin and Aleinah were so motivating and educated to help through my concerns. They push and challenge, but remind us to listen to our bodies and give preventative homework. The classes are small enough that they can pay attention to form and create a fun and motivating experience. In addition to the basic expectations of any gym, Austin digs into your psyche during your 1:1 sessions to really get to the root of your issues. Greenlight has been one of the top investments in my life.
I have learned and grown and changed more in the last month than I thought was possible and I am so excited to see what the rest of my time with them will bring into my life.
I am a little over one month in and am already feeling so revitalized and excited for my progress.
I am fitting into sizes of clothing I seriously have not seen since junior high and my weight is down to what it was in 2020 and I am hoping it will only get better.
The staff are absolutely amazing and the workouts are killer but also easier than I expected as far as cardio etc training. My trainer always gives me new and modified examples in case of pain or injury and it’s all personalized so well from the food to the workouts and homework.
Thank you for making it so simple to change my life and giving me the direction and support I needed to make huge shifts that are sustainable for me everyday.
