What an experience! This space is so peaceful. I attended an event here a little while back and was able to participate in breath yoga (which was very new to me) a sound bath and another ancestor ceremony. It was very different but each of the facilitators were excellent and explained everything. Some parts i participated in others I didn't. I left feeling lighter and more at peace. The owner is incredibly sweet, the studio is clean and a great size! So many options available too. I really want to come back and try pilattes. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

What an amazing class!
As someone who does reformer Pilates 5-6 times a week, this class was the exact challenge I needed.
Fantoya is a great instructor who really allows each practitioner to find their own rhythm and do what’s right for their body, and their breath.
I will absolutely be back when I come back to town.
Thanks Fantoya!

Fantoya has a natural gift for helping beginners with no experience. After a few classes I saw results and was able to reduce my stress and tension. I can’t wait to maximize my body’s full potential!

This was my first time trying Pilates and Functional Elements was the perfect place to try it. Fantoya the instructor and owner is awesome. She is very supportive and really encourages you to succeed. The studio is a very big, bright, and an open space and is a great location in Oak Park. I would highly recommend Functional Elements as your new go to Pilates/Yoga/Wellness studio, you will not be disappointed.

I had my first Pilates class with Fantoya at Functional Elements recently and it was amazing!! It was a very low impact but effective workout. I like to weight train and this class helped me move my body in ways that I don't normally. I really appreciated Fantoya's attentiveness to our body movements, positioning and breathing! She was able to step in and correct posture or band placement as needed. The 50 minutes went by so fast, I left there wanting more! 10/10 highly recommend.

The studio is clean (I witnessed her sanitizing the equipment after class) open, and very welcoming. I appreciated the aesthetic of the space. This was my first mat Pilates class and I didn’t know what to expect. I must say that I was slightly nervous. After having 2 cesareans and an open abdominal hysterectomy, my core is very weak. I was recommend pilates to strengthen and balance my core. So I thought to give Functional Elements a try. I let the instructor know my overall goal of strengthening my core and improving my balance. The instructor and owner is absolutely amazing. She listened to me and my concerns as a beginner. Throughout the class, she provided tips for me to manipulate my body for the workout. If she noticed that I struggled with anything, she provided modifications so that I was able to keep up in the class. I really appreciated her awareness. The class was awesome. As I stated earlier, some parts were slightly challenging, mainly because I haven’t used those muscles in a very long time, but at the same time it was very relaxing. Probably because of the breathing techniques. I walked away feeling great and instantly booked another class for the next day.
Oh, I also appreciate that the studio has a beverage bar offering water and tea to its guests. So thoughtful!!
