My daughter started coming here when she was around 4 years old- Did gymnastics for 3-5 years olds and then we took a little break, signed up somewhere else and absolutely saw the difference. Really great gymnastics studio for all ages. Our daughter did baby bears where a parent was with her and now is in toddler bears where it’s her and the instructor and she does great. It’s a low ratio of instructors and kids so they get good attention and have fun. The staff are all super nice, too. I appreciate their make up policy where if you miss (letting them know in advance) you get a make up token to use whenever. They also do a date night event every month where you can drop off for a couple hours. Highly recommend!

Our two-year-old daughter has been in Miss Jackie’s Toddler Bears class for eight months now and we can’t recommend her enough! She’s friendly, engaging, and the perfect teacher for toddlers who can be a bit slower to warm up.

We’ve seen our daughter completely flourish in her time at Gemstone and I know that’s due in large part to having someone like Jackie as her teacher. We love the structure and routine of the Toddler Bears classes and appreciate that it mixes in open play time as well. The facility is clean, absences and makeups are super easy to manage in their Parent Portal, and communication/customer service has always been fantastic.

Thanks to our initial experience with Miss Jackie, I’m sure we’ll be a part of Gemstone Gymnastics for quite a while!

My daughters have been going to Gemstone for a few months now and we love it! My oldest daughter is in the Ninja Bears Class with Ms. Courtney! This class is perfect for my very high energy girl and she loves doing the obstacle courses at a fast pace and her favorite thing is getting to run up the Ninja wall! When my daughter was an infant I searched all over for activities she could do under a year old and Gemstone was the one place that popped up. The staff are all so friendly and remember every kids name literally the first class I couldn’t believe it. My daughter learned so much and advanced in her skills so quickly. The classes are small and a different cycle of activities are set up each week that vary in difficulty. I cannot recommend Gemstone enough.

I love the experience and attention that the coaches bring. Within a year my daughter has flourished so much while being here. They truly take the time to get to know your child, and help them earn new skills while also celebrating their attempts.

We have been with Miss Courtney for a few years now and cannot recommend her (and the whole team) enough.

Something that makes them stand out for the younger kids is their weekly themes. Each week changes and the layout is tailored to that theme. It keeps it interesting for the younger ones and makes it exciting to see what that week will bring.

Been coming here about a year and a half, my girls have so much fun. We’re in the toddler bear class where there’s a nice mix of structure and toddler led. They’re also very accommodating: cancelled classes get makeups that don’t expired and can be shared with siblings! Since toddler bear is an adult with kid class, they let you baby wear another if needed, or let one adult take class with two kids- something you don’t find often but is so helpful!

My daughter (8) is back at Gemstones! She had attended when she was younger and during COVID. The coaches there are excellent as are the owners! I was excited for my 4 year old daughter to join gymnastics this summer. Not all the instructors are welcoming and/or friendly. You’re able to tell when they have a preference with students. tuition increased and I have no issue with paying the difference but when my kid is treated differently than others I’m not okay with that. Also not to mention, the seating is limited. if you show up 1-2 mins late you have to sit on the floor or get stared at for standing around and keeping your eye on your kid. staff is not quite friendly.

We love gemstone! Our daughter has been attending for 2 years now and goes a couple times a week, and ofton participates in optional special events. The gym is always clean and air conditioned, classes always start and end on time and they have coaches who care about the kids and their development. There is several coaches who have been there since we joined over year years ago (our previous gym had very high turnover!). Tuition is very easy (auto billed each month) and they make it easy to schedule make up classes, or switch classes if needed. My kids have been going to Gemstone for 4 years now. The teachers have always been kind, patient, upbeat and understanding. I have had multiple experiences where one of my children had either refused to participate or thrown a tantrum. The teachers have always allowed me to join the class to soothe the child or given me a make up class without me asking for one if they refused to participate.

The attitude of the entire staff has impressed me so much that we decided to throw my daughter's 4th birthday party there. The general rule is that no parents are allowed on the floor during the birthday, but they allowed exceptions for the 2 kids in her preschool class that we're neurodivergent and needed extra help. Unlike other gymnastics birthday parties, Gemstone provided 2 coaches that guided the children through the activities. They got out the bouncy house, and the kids were thoroughly exhausted by the end. Her friends still talk about how amazing her Gemstone birthday party was, and this is 2 years later. The most important part is that all the other gymnastics birthday parties we've been to (NOT at Gemstone), there has been at least 1 injury leading to a child leaving the party prematurely, and the parents were expected to follow their children around for safety. Not at Gemstone, the coaches took care of everything, allowing the parents to socialize worry free.

My kids have only been to 1 kids night out, but they still ask to go back every month.

My daughter has had so much fun at Gemstone that she wanted to join the gymnastics team. The coaches have been great at helping her set small goals, and she has improved a lot since she started the team program. The most important thing she is learning from the team gymnastics is that to progress, you have to practice and work hard to obtain the skill. She is also learning to cheer for her teammates when they accomplish their goals and to lose graciously. I feel like the team program is amazing because she is learning those key life lessons in a place that is so supportive of her emotionally.

We also sent my daughter to summer camp at Gemstone, which she had said is her favorite camp so far of the summer.

Both my children have been taking classes at Gymstone for over a year. My daughter is in Toddler Bears and my son is in Ninja Bears. My daughter’s class is mommy & me style so I’m able to see first hand how great the classes are - I’ve been very impressed. Each class is well thought out, engaging, fun, and a consistent teacher from week-to-week. Ninja Bears is by far my son’s favorite activity that I’ve signed him up for over the years - we’re even having his birthday party at Gymstone.

Our daughter started a Gemstone a couple of years ago. She has enhanced her skills, become a more confident and capable gymnast and loves going there. She enjoys working with all the teachers and has made many friends. The atmosphere is friendly, fun, inviting, and the teachers continually challenge her. We began attending Gemstone Gymnastics when my daughter turned two. Now we are going on our third year this fall. I cannot believe the progress my daughter has made- with her Gymnastics skills, her balance and coordination, and her confidence. Now we have signed up her younger sister as well. They have an easy make up policy but we almost never miss a class. The staff is great (Shout out to Ms. Camille). They always have themes, events, and so much going on way beyond the once a week class. The team really dedicates a lot of time and energy into what they do. And finally, I absolutely love that there is an ASL ‘sign of the week’ that they teach the students related to the weekly theme. I could not recommend anything more wholeheartedly than gemstones for Gymnastics for your children.

We love gemstone! Both my kids look forward to taking classes hear every summer. The weekly themes keep things fresh, and the flexibility with make-up days is so convenient. When my son broke his arm part way through a session, they even worked with us and made an exception to allow my daughter to take classes in his place. Our experiences with Gemstone have been amazing! They’re unmatched in the area in terms of professionalism/customer service and cleanliness.

Also, I’m continually so impressed by their staff and programming. As a mom I’m always on the hunt for activities that are built on a purposeful curriculum, but are so fun kids would never know :). I also think finding programs with people who “get” preschoolers is more challenging than you’d think and Gemstones totally “gets” all kinds of kids. I love watching her teacher scaffold every movement during a class so that it’s differentiated and appropriate for each kiddo in the group. I’m always so impressed to watch her gradually, and strategically increase the difficulty of any given movement within and between classes. My daughter’s confidence and coordination have grown so much over the past year and we’re so grateful to have found such a quality and fun program!

Great for kids of all ages. My daughter (4 yo) has been enrolled in almost a year and loves her classes and coach/subs so much. The staff really take good care of the kids in their classes. As a sport coach, I can tell the staff here truly want to pass on their knowledge and skills to all the kids enrolled.
Everytime I had a question or my child is sick, I texted/emailed and got a response within the hour.

The only suggestion I have would be that hopefully somehow gemstones can add seatings for parents/guardians. I noticed sometimes there's a parent carrying an infant or the occasional grandmas who have to stand near the viewing area for entire class.

This place is a 10. I cannot recommend it enough from the helpful and kind staff to the impeccable gym conditions it is great. My gymnast has improved greatly courtesy of the coach’s focus on technique and knowledge of the sport. My daughter found her sport! She loves “Elsa Gymnastics” and asks to go every day of the week. I may need to sign her up for a second day. The make up policy is amazing. The coaches are fun and they have stations for the 3 year olds so there isn’t a lot of waiting around. I love that the coaches incorporate sign language into the lessons as well.

I really wanted to love this place. My husband and I have worked as managers in gyms for 15+ years combined and I have never come across such unprofessionalism and lack of regard for the community/customers by a manager. First, a family member came to watch my daughter do her class; this family member remained outside and her mask slipped below her nose. She was told by the man who works there that if she didn’t cover her nose, my daughter would be kicked out of class and we’d be given a refund and not allowed back. A little aggressive if you ask me.... (my daughter is 2 and this family member wasn’t even inside of the establishment, she was outdoors).

Fast forward a few weeks, I was incorrectly charged over $100 to my debit card after my daughter completed her classes. I called immediately after I saw the charge and explained I was over-charged. I was able to speak with manager Sara who told me “everything is non refundable. I could give you a refund, I just don’t want to.” 😳
I understand what running a budget is like, and we are very familiar with profit/loss statements... It is also federal law that any purchase made on a debit or credit card can be refunded. She agreed when I told her this and said that giving me a refund would mess up her budget too much because then she’d have to refund everybody else who was incorrectly charged. (I wish I was making this up). I requested she please think about giving me a refund because I didn’t want to have to go through my bank to get the money back. She said she didn’t care if she lost our business (we have a large blended family, which I explained, and she said losing 3 kids business wouldn’t hurt her). I even offered to purchase 2 more months of classes if she could just refund the incorrect charges. She said verbatim she “didn’t care about keeping us as customers.” Growing up in this community I am very disappointed that a children’s gym is being run like this. And it wasn’t even a one off, I know 2 other moms who were overcharged and had to dispute charges with the bank because the management wouldn’t issue refunds. I hope they learn from this experience so people are not scammed out of their money.
In terms of gymnastics, it was about a 6 out of 10 for my toddler and a 5 out of 10 for my stepdaughter who is 8 years old. The classes are cute and simple and the girls who teach the classes are nice. Unfortunately, our family and blended family members will not be returning to this place due to lack of professionalism.
I was also told to “leave as many negative reviews as you want...” so there’s that....

I paid for a full month of tuition did not get offered the free trial class at all. My daughter missed a class and i was told she could make up for it. When the second month came i couldnt make my payment on the spot because i didnt have a card on me so i let them know i would update the card when i got home. They said my daughter could not join class even though she had a make up class. She couldn’t do her make up class unless enrolled for another month. They are over priced and the teacher does not teach much is more like baby sitting while the kids do as they pleased in the gym. When i offered to pay for the day with cash they took my money but refused to give me my change as a way to keep the change for the next month tuition i felt like i was being forced to keep entolling my child to keep giving them money they dont care about there customers or students all they want is money

Do not take your kids here! It is not sanitary, after their recent shut down to to covid my son went to 2 classes and got sick twice. The staff let sick kids join class. Kids sneezing and coughing is ok in their eyes.

Teachers also are hit or miss. Most just go thru the motions not actually engaging with the 4 year olds. Just seems like bad babysitting. After being a customer of theirs for 5 months after telling them my concerns about my son getting sick they did not care. The owner said no one else has said their kids have gotten sick so it must not be gemstone that is the problem.

Do not give them your business. It's a very over priced class for what they do. They are charging more and doing less. Bad business all around.

Our family loves Gemstone Gymnastics. We started there when they opened last year in Allied Gardens. The location works well for us. There is plenty of easy parking, too. The owners are kind, thoughtful, and skilled at thinking about the logistics of things that go into running a place like this, especially in the current situation with COVID-19. The teachers are great, too. They take great care of the kids, and do well at keeping even the tiniest ones on track with the class. It's also cool to see so many faces of our neighborhood folk here. In all honesty, I'm also envious of the kids getting to play on all the fun equipment. 😉

If you're looking for places in San Diego for a Kids Birthday Party, Gemstone Gymnastics is awesome. My daughter goess to a different gymnastics school but we attended the grand opening event for this location and immediately knew this would be a perfect Birthday Party location. You get the entire gym for your party and its srt up and organized in a way thats suitable for different ages. We had my daughter's 5th Birthday here and kids from age 2-10 had a blast. The only thing I would have done is booked the extra time, late arrivals and clean up cut a little into the party time but its a good sign when the kids didn't want it to end. This is a great indoor party location in San Diego!
