About the Club

Get Fit Strength and Conditioning is a co-ed gym—located inside Get Fit Davis Sport in Davis, California—that uses various combinations to exercise. Our gym offers programs that are designed to develop an exercise prescription plan that modulates aerobic, resistance, and/or flexibility training to suit the metabolic and physical demands for each individual. Our goal is to teach our members these skills so that they can be proficient in all areas of fitness and basic functional movements.

I love this program! I’ve joined many group exercise programs over the years, but this one is different and very effective. Under Elizabeth’s watchful eye and vigilant coaching, I get instruction and feedback on how I am doing so I feel I am working out correctly and avoiding injury. In just a few months I see how my posture has improved and I'm able to lift more weight than I ever have. I highly recommend this program because as you age you need to improve your balance and strengthen your muscles. I feel I am getting all these benefits and more from this great program.

Get Fit Strength and Conditioning class has been one of the most wonderful experiences in my life! I am doing things that I had no idea I'd ever be able to do. The trainers watch closely and help me adjust as needed. Even though I am one of the slower, weaker runts of the litter, everyone makes me feel like I am a superstar!! I have gained so much confidence personally from taking this class. When I go to my class in the morning, I feel so energized all day long. I am proud of myself. I can't imagine my life without this class! I went out of fear for my health to decline as I see how many people have health troubles and I wanted to be more healthy. Now, I go because I love it and want to get as strong as I can. A great program for older adults who are looking to get stronger, more conditioned and improve balance and coordination. The coaches are super - especially Michelle! She makes certain each person is getting the most out of the workout, but also makes sure they are doing each exercise in a way that won't exacerbate any ongoing joint/tendon problems. I highly recommend this program for anyone over 60 who wants to improve their overall health and fitness!

I was interested in finding fitness training for older adults. I have found Get Fit Davis Sport to have exactly what I was looking for. The TOA (Training Older Adults) program gives me a great workout using weights, resistance exercises and tons of hinge and squat maneuvers (my nemesis). The instructors do a great job of helping individuals attain their best form, and I feel I get a lot of personalized attention. The other gym members in our small group are also very friendly and encouraging. I am so pleased at what this program has added to my daily life.

I’ve been going to Get Fit Strength & Conditioning 3 days weekly since January 2023. I truly wish I started this program years ago! I know nothing about weight lifting, however I go to Conner’s classes 6-7am and he coaches you on everything you need to learn to lift weights safely & effectively. We also do lots of conditioning. I love the great variety of conditioning & weight lifting, you won’t get bored. Conner, our coach, is positive, motivational, and has a good sense of humor. And everyone in our group is very supportive & friendly. You will get stronger and more energetic, I even lost some weight. It’s an awesome program!!!

I am 68 years old. Liz Parson at Get Fit Strength and Conditioning has been my personal trainer for seven months and with her guidance my fitness, core and overall physical strength, flexibilty, balance and confidence have improved greatly. I have lost weight and feel and look younger. The program she developed for me is personalized, scientific and incremental with injury prevention a priority. She is upbeat, knowledgeable, attentive, and patient. The exercises adjust to my performance and progress. I recommend her highly. She is a master.

Unbelievable. Amazing. 10 stars for coaches!!!
I have been on weight watchers for 2.5. Years trying to lose 20 pds. The first 15 came off fairly quickly but the last year and half I’ve been struggling with 5 lousy pds. In 3.5 months I lost those 5 pds and today weighed in at my goal weight, at last!!!

Love this program! I started a few months ago extremely out of shape and a little uneasy about trying to exercise in front of others. My anxiety was quickly gone once I started. I never thought I would be a person who enjoys working out but I do!!! The community is so welcoming and encouraging. There are people of all fitness levels and ages. I’ve been going to GFSC for over 6 months. I’m
a 63 year old diagnosed with severe arthritis in my knees and a bad back. For many years I’ve had difficulty going up and down the stairs. I took this class because I was looking for a workout to build my strength. I really enjoyed my class at the gym and then CoVid hit. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy the Zoom class but I continued. I love it. Liz watches our posture and performance and makes corrections and encourages us to build our strength and mobility while explaining the physiological changes that may be happening in our bodies. I can’t thank her enough. I no longer feel like I’m going to need a knee replacement in the near future.

The classes at Get Fit Streength and Conditioning are excellent at covering all the bases of physical fitness in a way that is uncommon: strength, mobility, balance, flexibility, and overall fitness. The personal attention you receive is vital, as without regular monitoring and correction by the instructor, it is so easy to fall into bad practices that either, at best, do not advance your fitness or, at worst, do actual harm. The kind of personal attention to form provided by instructors at Get Fit is rare--and such a huge added benefit of their classes. I strongly recommend them!

Since before the shutdown, I’ve been a regular (truly! three times a week!!) participant in the Retire Better X-Fit program with Elizabeth Parsons as our coach. That’s over a year! Nothing - nothing - could have held me like this if the quality and the culture were anything less than extraordinary. As an adult educator, teachers and coaches get extra scrutiny from me (yes, a bit of a curse!). Five stars is the lowest score I could possibly calculate.

Please imagine the coaching challenge as most of it has been on Zoom. Yet, I feel seen, I’ve improved, I have avoided injury, and I want more! Part of what makes it so good is that Liz (and her team) always also welcomes questions, observations, and upgrades. Imagine that!!!!

The knowledge and competency of the instructors here is amazing. I have been working out for over 40 years and I don’t think I’ve seen this level of skill in instructors before in one place.
The classes are small so that there is individual attention and detail to each person.
In the past 2 years with the coaches Dan, Liz, and Josh, my strength level has improved significantly. I have a torn meniscus and so they adapt the workout for my knee.

I love Get fit strengh and Conditioning! I have been training with them for about 18 months now. The coaches are very knowledgeable and always on time. What I love about it is that you don’t have to be a pro in lifting or training because they will work with you and adjust the workout to your level. They r very good at changing the workout to adjust to any physical injury and u can still get good exercise while healing. The workout area is always clean and all equipment desinfected after a workout. Coaches are extremely encouranging!!!

I've been going here a year. I'm getting challenging, interesting workouts that mentally and physically challenge me to learn proper body mechanics and movements, doing bodyweight exercises (pushups, pullups, etc.) and those with weights (kettlebells, barbells, etc.). It is awesome to lift heavy weights. The instructors watch you closely and provide positive feedback, instructions, and encouragement. Class sizes are not too big, so everyone gets attention.
