Our extensive background in sports-performance and rehabilitation training allows us to help members of all types with goals ranging from running faster, specific strength goals, recovering from and preventing injury, and nutritional coaching for weight-loss.
Our facility is a 4 suite studio that offers privacy as well as community feel that perfectly compliments our training, allowing for personal attention as well as a socially supportive environment.

I've been going to Glide for group classes for about 2 years and I absolutely love it! The trainers here are the best I have ever trained with - they are knowledgable, easy to work with, and make you feel comfortable being there. It's a gym with a community, without the cult. Josh, Lisa and Tom are all incredible. Whether you're getting over an injury or just want to get a good workout in - this is a great place!

I have been working with Josh and Lisa for personal training for about 10 months now and I can honestly say that they have the best classes and rates in San Diego! They are very professional, intentional, and thoughtful when creating workouts for their clients. Their booty workout class on Tuesdays is great too! I highly recommend you book a class with Glide Training. I am really grateful I found this gym because training with them has helped me transform my life and health for the better!

My teenage son worked with Josh to improve his performance in High School Cross Country and Lacrosse. Josh was incredible with my son: He not only helped him work towards his fitness goals but taught him about proper nutrition and helped him improve his form to prevent injuries.
Then I messed up my back and had a huge hiking trip on the horizon. Josh and Lisa worked with me to recover faster from my injury and get ready for the hiking trip. They were better than the Physical Therapy that I have been to many times before. After the successful trip, I kept coming back. It has been a year and I have never felt better, looked better or gone so long without hurting my back again. These guys are fun, patient, super nice, professional, and they know their stuff. They explain why you are doing the exercises and how to move for optimal gains. If you want to learn the names of the muscles, bones, tendons and ligaments, they will teach those to you as well as the mechanics of how everything works. My husband is now also working with Glide weekly. Highly recommend!

I found Glide through ClassPass and signed up for personal training with Josh to help with my lower back pain. I injured my back at the gym 5 years ago and have tried almost everything to help relieve the pain. Josh is very knowledgeable and took the time to understand my injury. After the first 3 sessions, I could feel a noticeable difference in my pain. I work at a desk all day, so I frequently have to adjust my seat. I started to notice that I didn't have to adjust as often and could now do certain things pain free. My quality of living has dramatically improved since working with them. I would highly recommend this gym if you are looking for help with an injury.

Josh is an excellent trainer. He varies his workouts to match the needs of the client. He keeps a close watch to ensure that each exercise is done properly for maximum benefit. I'm in my 70s with a back issue, and Josh is better than the PT dept. at Sharp (and Sharp is very good). I've watched him work effectively with high school and college athletes. 7/7/25 Update: Still with Josh and feeling fit at 76 yrs. He's good to talk to about eating right as well. If you like to golf, Josh has stretches to help your game as well as saving your back.

I've had an incredible experience at Glide Gym last one year with Josh and Lisa as my personal trainers! Been going to Glide for almost two years. Great studio with a variety of options for personal training/one on one and group fitness classes. Each class is tailored to you - they really spend time to understand your goals and body to make sure you have a program that works well for you. Josh and Lisa are awesome!! They offer a well-balanced set of group classes as well as individual sessions, and are great at adjusting exercises to individual needs. Best gym in San Diego! Some of the first people I met after moving and could not have felt more welcomed. Josh and Lisa are the best trainers I have ever worked with. Their small group classes have the attention of personal training - they constantly fix form and know what weights suit each member. They also know/understand the body incredibly well (especially compared to many other trainers) and have helped to heal past injuries, which no longer bother me since joining Glide. I found Glide on ClassPass after trying many different studios around San Diego, and I can easily say Glide is the best gym I've ever been to! In just three months I've gained more strength and confidence than I ever thought possible. Josh and Lisa are super friendly and caring, and they know how to push you to your limit while encouraging you and making sure you keep good form. They are great with working through any injuries you have and providing individually customized workouts, even in a group class setting. I also love the variety of the workouts, from lifting to HIIT to bodyweight and band work. I would recommend Glide to anyone looking for a new workout routine to really see results--you won't regret it!

Great place for fitness! Awesome results with community feel complemented by small business hands on approach to client intimacy. Josh and Lisa are not only strong owners and trainers but really caring people. Holly and Radar are super therapy dogs. As a customer, Glide checks every box that drives home value for my financial investment. Couldn’t be happier that I found them. It’s been 4 months and counting. I’ve dropped 10 pounds and at least 1 waist size while improving my energy as well as confidence. I have participated in group fitness classes here regularly for the last year and a half. It is a fantastic value- the classes are usually capped at 2-4 participants so you get significantly more personal attention than in larger group classes. Josh and Lisa also have extensive training and will work with you on your individual goals while keeping you safe and avoiding injury. They have created a welcoming community for beginners all the way to experienced athletes!

Amazing gym and fitness family! Owners/trainers know how to create the perfect and adaptive training schedule to meet your fitness goals and accommodate whatever your fitness level may be. Each class is always different from week to week, eliminating the typical boredom of doing the same thing Over and over and losing interest. If you want results in fitness go here! I’ve always been an avid exercise enthusiast, but have never been able to get over the plateau until I joined Glide. This review is long overdue! Lisa and Josh are the best. I have worked out in so many cities, gyms and had various instructors/ trainers and they are the best I've known. I stumbled upon this local gym via ClassPass about a year and a half ago when I moved from San Francisco down to San Diego, and became hooked. These two know what they are doing. Not only will you gain strength and overall fitness, but mobility which will allow you to stay active without injury!
The classes are personal and small allowing for you to actually get instruction and personal encouragement. Honestly, all fitness levels and ages. It is small so the workout works/ adapted for everyone. The classes are all different allowing you to chose the type of workout you need. They mix it up and you never get bored. I've been a loyal member for a while and usually I bounce around between gyms. This one has it all.
I don't usually write reviews, but Glide is great and you NEED to go.
Ps: recently they added yoga and (I am not a yogi) but it's fun and personalized!

I had the opportunity to work out with josh over the weekend while visiting my best friend in San Diego. I was stoked because I don’t like messing up my routine and was looking forward to a nice little sweat sesh. Josh and his gfs humble aboad also serves as their training facility and you instantly feel at home, especially with their two cute guard dogs watching you sweat. (Community and openness is my jam so it was a good feeling, esp being an out of towner)
As I started my circuit josh and I started talking some more and eventually found out we have more in common than my friend who brought me there... ex soccer players, terrible hip flexors and loads of past and current pain. He saw me struggle with some excercises that were right side dominant and tweaked my form, and made me do a few other work outs to really see how god awful my hip flexors are.
We shared our past expeirences with visiting PT’s, chiros, etc etc.
He grabbed a small ball and wanted me to try out a few things and eventually went upstairs to grab his portable table and had me lay on it. He introduced me to active release therapy (ATR) and basically told me what he was about to was going to hurt like hell. I was so game. I was super interested because anything that he’d been through with hip flexor pain, I have and still am going through as well. It did hurt but in a good way. I immediately felt some release in tension on each side, and was really stoked he took the time to do this for me and to teach me.
I’ve always been a firm believer in finding someone you can trust in the gym, especially since we bonded as athletes first- I knew he was good. Regardless of your experience, athlete or not, or if you’re scared to start something, I fully support you giving Josh and his gf a try. They care, they’re fun, and they know their stuff. They have degrees to support the science behind it all, but they also have first hand experience which to me is very important.
Think about what you could gain by taking a group class, or a one on one session... I got all this in one hour...

Josh and Lisa are young, enthusiastic and knowledgeable trainers with both academic and real world experience. My fiance and I have been training with them for 3-4 years and can't recommend them strongly enough. Their prices are reasonable and they're located in a pretty centralized location, near downtown in the Little Italy neighborhood. BTW- It's also worth pointing out that they're both very decent people, who care about their clients and take a genuine interest in your well-being.
