My 7 year old daughter has been attending Gold Coast gymnastics for over two years and my 3 year old daughter has been at the gym for almost a year. Both girls love it there! They look forward to going to gymnastics every single time. Which makes me very happy as a parent. We have stayed at this gym because the girls get great exercise while learning new skills. My two girls haven’t been in any of the competitive groups so I can’t speak on how those are ran. But, the weekly basic sessions are 45minutes for kinder gym and one hour for any level after. They do have a late policy that states if your child is late to class they can not join that session. This is because they spend the first 10-15 minutes warming up and stretching. This is important and keep the kids from potentially getting injured. They do give you a few minutes after the class starts to join but I think anything after 15min of class starting they won’t allow you to attend. Please check with the receptionist for accurate times frame. Over the years I have never had any issues rescheduling classes. Communication with the office has been pretty smooth, very timely quick responses over email. I wouldn’t bother trying to call all staff work on the gymnastics mats during hours of operation. In our personal experience we have enjoyed our coaches. They are very young but seem to have a lot of patience for all the children. A lot of the kids get distracted and sometimes the coaches have to be stern with them to get them on tracker again.If your overly sensitive to how people speak to your child this may offend you. Both of my girls have built strength, confidence, flexibility and have overcome fears at this gym. Best of all they have fun. Another bonus is that all the parents and kids who attend are very kind.

Overall bad business, bad management, teenagers who seem miserable and could care less letting kids to jump around and not actually teach gymnastics any or real skills. Small space, no public restroom, one teenage "coach" per huge group of students, in a very small gym. The owner is not involved in the kids at all, very rude and dismissive. Very very very poor communication between staff and parents, and extremely poor customer service… you can’t get ahold of them on the phone and it takes days to get an email back. Very unsatisfied after 1+ years of my daughter attending classes. I was warned by my friends not to sign my daughter up for similar reasons, and I should have listened. Parents.. be weary…

Not Sure what all the bad reviews are about, but we and especially my daughter loves it. The Girls are great!!!! I would try out a free session to check it out, which they offer before assuming or leaving a bad review just saying……

The classes are fine but the management is only in the business of making money. They do not care about the kids whatsoever. If you are even one minute late beyond what they feel is acceptable not matter the reason (even a Police street closure!) they will turn you away. Our kids both 3 and 5 years old have been turned away in complete tears twice. The management just does not care and are heartless.

Keep in mind this is probably less a review of Gold Coast Gymnastics (GCG) as a whole but more of a review of the coach that taught the class.

I brought my 3 yo b/g twins here for Kindergym. I want to say that in my interactions with the office staff I found them to be pleasant to deal with, very helpful and willing to talk about my concerns. The gym is lit beautifully from the many windows and is just pleasant to be in; incredibly exciting (especially when watching the experienced gymnasts) and I was very proud my kids were able to be taught there. My daughter has some developmental challenges so I wanted to find a place where she could feel successful and have fun since she spends so much time working really hard in her various therapy sessions. I was super excited to bring them here.

So I really really wanted this to work out. I had conversations thru messaging and face-to-face with the management prior to signing them up. I indicated potential weaknesses my kids might have in group sessions - distractibility for one. I was assured by GCG that it was something my kids (and especially my son) would adjust to. I was also told the coach would work with them to help them thru it.

Unfortunately that didn't happen and in the last class we attended the coach loudly dismissed my son from the class shortly after the class began. Her dismissal shouted loudly enough that I heard her from across the gym. I had to run out to the gym floor to find out 1-what was happening and 2-why my son was being sent away and being yelled at to "go find your mother". I won't go into further details except to say that I was utterly heart broken for my son and we all left in tears. I was just so sad that I had put my trust in this coach only to be so let down. Let me add that my son did not do anything hurtful to anyone - he was simply distracted.

When I cancelled immediately after it happened, the woman in the front office was very apologetic; the owner called later to do the same.

I do wish we had been offered some sort of refund since we ended up paying for twice as many classes as we took (admittedly partially due to our vacation, then otherwise by a schedule mix-up and the class that my son was kicked out of). But in all fairness, we didn't ask for one - at the time this happened I was still to upset AND had laryngitis so I didn't speak with the owner when she called to apologize, my husband did and he didn't know to ask.

So please, check this place out for your gym needs but don't be let down if the coach can't handle your toddler/distracted child. Now that you know you might want to ask about the coach that will teach your child. As a parent you should not have to witness your child being dismissed, loudly and without compassion with frustration and intolerance, in front of the entire gym, parents and class. You deserve a coach that will, with patience, guide your child and teach them the curriculum. If the child is not in the right class then you as a parent deserve to be told that in a professional manner.

I think the owner has it right but this coach got it very very very wrong and is clearly not teaching the right class.

Gold Coast Gym has been a wonderful experience for my 5 year old! The coaches are very attentive and patient and do a great job teaching in a way that is fun for the little ones.
By the way... their Saturday night KID'S NIGHT OUT program has been so appreciated by our family! MY DAUGHTER CAN'T WAIT TO GO EVERY SATURDAY- and we love the opportunity for a worry-free date night. :)

We would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
